Arena:
In the very centre of Mt. Moon, and at its peak, there is a cave. The diggable floor is well-lit by the full moon, which shines through a circular opening in the roof. The edges of the arena are slightly darker, but still impossible to hide in. The ceiling is high enough for Flying-type Pokémon to move freely, but unfortunately there is no water to be had. Every round, there is a 25% chance of a Clefairy appearing and using Metronome, but there is a slight difference in mechanics. For example, if Clefairy were to choose Ember, then Ember's power would be halved and used against both combatants.

So, is anybody up for it? *Wags finger*

And so we end up with this singles match, slightly ahead of time because of DW's speed in the thread. The order is Alchemator releasing, Destiny Warrios releasing and giving orders, and finally Alchemator giving orders before I ref. All that there is left to say is "Watch out, Clefairy about!"

And so find ourselves at the peak of Mt. Moon in Kanto, and Alchemator and Destiny Warrior have agreed to a singles match. To begin with, Alchemator releases the Clive the Baltoy, to which Destiny Warrior responds with Sky Raptor the Staravia. They each issue instructions, and finally Sky Raptor starts off the match. It starts off not doing much, but based off Destiny Warrior's instructions we can guess that he is thinking happy thoughts in order to Work Up himself and boost his damage output for a bit. In responce, Clive the Baltoy sits similarly still and we can only guess that he is hatching a Nasty Plot about the oncoming game based off Alchemator's instructions - it certainly isn't something you'd expect from a Baltoy - but it is being surrounded by dark energy and looks very menacing going into the next rounds.

Next, Sky Raptor finishes its calm reflections and is put into attack mode. It dashes towards Baltoy, and Plucks at it, discovering that it doesn't have an item but also pushing it back before it can attack. However, Baltoy, in a continuing departure from standard Baltoy practices, sends a Dark Pulse from the energy surrounding it now out towards Sky Raptor, and it hits it in mid air, knocking it back and down onto the ground. Sky Raptor, slightly surprised by the strange attack, nonetheless can get up and get ready for a speedy direct attack next round.

Sky Raptor jumps up again, and, faster than the eye can follow, delivers a devastating Aerial Ace attack to Clive, and Clive looks like he almost hasn't got enough presence of mind to hold together a demanding counter to the attack, but at the last minute after it is knocked back, it turns around and contorts its body to move around Sky Raptor's, and Counters the Aerial Ace, throwing Sky Raptor to the ground using its own momentum to provide the force. It looks like Baltoy is going to head into the second round clearly with the upper hand, but it suddenly contorts again and its whole body seems to flicker, like a badly tuned TV screen. Then, suddenly, his body changes completely: it is now plain to see that the whole time it was Roger the Zorua! This explains the weird way it was fighting, but it looks like it won't be able to hold the illusion together any more after the beating it has taken this round. So as we go into the next round, a completely different one in many ways, it will be interesting to see what happens next!

And now we have the first proper round after last round's trickery with Illusion. Everyone now is on the same page, and Sky Raptor's confidence looks high. However, it decides to Work Up for a while, to boost the power of its attacks in the long run. The newly revealed Roger, however, decides to move straight in and take advantage of Sky Raptor's break from attacking, and moves up and lets off another big Dark Pulse towards Sky Raptor, which pains him as it is absorbed into his body.

Next, both contestants step back for a moment: Sky Raptor continues to Work Up in preparation for big attacks later on. This time, though, Roger lets out some Fake Tears instead of attacking. Even while Sky Raptor works itself up, it can't help feeling sorry for Roger and lets its guard down a bit while it stops concentrating.

Finally, both Pokemon stop boosting their energies and finally turn towards each other for some old-fashioned hand to hand combat (sort of). Sky Raptor leads, jumping up into the air and crashing down towards Roger and hitting it with a Wing Attack, knocking it back with the force of the flapping and dashing it against the cave wall. However, Roger struggles upright again and lets off yet another Dark Pulse, which hits Sky Raptor mid-swoop and knocks it down to the ground. Both participants are down on the ground at the moment, having both been hit hard by their opponent's attack in this last action. It will be interesting to see which of them can capitalise on the slowdown!

Well if it's a combo then surely I can just Detect to stop it right? Follow up with a Dark Pulse and then finish it off with a final Dark Pulse.

It'll be rather embarrassing if I don't kill it...

Sky Raptor turns around and jumps into the sky, wheeling and spinning around in the sky to gather momentum. Eventually, he moves back down to Roger, and pelts down towards him, in a huge attack combining Pluck, Aerial Ace and Quick Attack into a huge, speedy blow against Roger. It looks like it will be an easy knockout blow, and as Sky Raptor dives down towards Roger it looks like this match-up is as good as over. But wait! At just the last minute, Roger uses Detects where Sky Raptor will be, and at the last minute dodges out of the way of the huge combo attack! Sky Raptor keeps going and crashes into the ground, and is left powerless for some time.

Roger uses this time to let off two Dark Pulses in quick succession. This proves to be more than Sky Raptor can take, and he doesn't manage to get up after the heavy blow. He lies unconscious, leaving Roger the winner of this bout! It now lies with Destiny Warrior to release his final Pokemon!

And so with his precious Sky Raptor down for the count, Destiny Warrior chooses as his last Pokemon Spi
ffy the Duclohm. There are immediately calls for a lynch, but everyone realises that there has been a mistake and heads back to Circus Maximus. In the meantime, Spiffy starts off the new matchup but letting off a huge Thunderbolt at Roger. All of the electricity is absorbed by Roger, but Roger shrugs it off and lets loose some Fake Tears. They are clearly not real after the way Roger coped with that last attack, but somehow Spiffy is taken in (must go with the name) and drops his guard significantly.

Then, perhaps after realising he had been tricked by the fake tears, he begins to circle around Roger, and finally lets all of his fristration off in a huge Dragon Rage attack at Roger. It does good damage, but again Roger has no trouble in taking the attack. It this time stops the trickery and instead lets off another of its Dark Pulses at Spiffy, which is absorbed by Spiffy and which hurts him a lot. However, he is still fresh from the Pokeball and shrugs off the attack after a minute even through his defence drops.

Finally, both contestants face each other and just let off whatever they can muster in a final attack. Roger lets off a huge Dark Pulse and Spiffy lets off a huge Thunderbolt. They meets in mid air, and the force of the collision creates a great explosion in the middle of the record. They keep directing their attacks at each other forcing the attacks through the energy ball in the centre which has formed, and and finally they each give up, causing a shock wave large enough to blow them both off the stage. Shrapnel flies everywhere, and the Pokemon both fly off their sides of the record. They eventually manage to get back up, but it costs each a lot of energy to do so, and the round has clearly taken its toll on both. They look quite worm out, but Spiffy has a clear advantage at the moment. It will be interesting to see what Roger can pull out next round to try to save itself!

Ok. It's only slightly faster than you, and it's a good distance away. Ergo you should be able to use Dig to get into this lovely diggable floor before it thunderbolts you. Once you pop out, Chill. Follow that up with a Double Team (2 Clones).

We left off last round with Roger the Zorua clinging to life in the face of a terrifying Spiffy. Spiffy now swoops around, looking for the kill, and finally lets off a huge Thunderbolt. Roger tries to dodge as quickly as he can underground, but it isn't quite fast enough to dodge the full blow. It gets hit by about half the bolt before it can hide underground, but after teetering for a while it just collapses completely, with no energy left to fight after the last attack. This leaves Roger out of the fight, meaning Alchemator has to send out a new Pokemon. This time he really sends out Clive the Baltoy, who he pretended to send out before. This leaves it with Destiny Warrior to issue instructions in the final showdown to determine the match!

Ok [the real] Clive, listen up because these orders are very complex. First, I want you to start off with a tactical Earth Power to land some good damage. The opening in the roof isn't all that big, so there shouldn't be much rain anyway. Start moving backward regardless. Now comes the tricky part: I want you to follow that up with another Earth Power. This should really unsteady him, and then he'll be brought down by a move slipped in just for variety: Earth Power!

So that all boils down to this:

Earth Power ~ Earth Power ~ Earth Power

Good luck.

And so the real Clive the Baltoy finally comes out to play, possibly just in time for the demise of Spiffy the Duclohm. Spiffy has a slight speed advantage, and so he begins this the final matchup of the game. He gets up and starts doing a strange dance, which is recognisable as drop start to form in the air and in the clouds as a Rain Dance. Eventually, it starts to absolutely pour: foreshadowing something from the battle ahead perhaps? Anyway, Clive wastes absolutely no time not attacking and immediately shakes the ground using his Earth Power to attack Spiffy. Spiffy takes it badly, after being worn out by the bout with Roger, and stumbles somewhat.

However, he still gets up quickly enough for the next round, and continues manipulating the weather to create a giant Hurricane. The vertex winds around overhead, passing out of sight above the hole in Mt. Moon's summit. It gets directed down towards Clive, and compounds with the already inclement weather to throw Clive up against one of the walls. However, that blow is lessened by Clive's Levitation, and he is easily able to pass off another (very tactical) Earth Power at Spiffy, which hurts it just as much as before.

Finally, Spiffy again summons a giant Hurricane to attack Clive with, and puts all of his energy into it, perhaps sensing that he won't last much longer. However, he is weary after a long fight, and the attack does not hurt Clive enough. Clive takes the chance presented by the weak blow, and steps up to deliver a final Earth Power. This proves to be more that Spiffy can stand, and Spiffy is forced to finally keel over, completely out. This leaves Alchemator's Clive the last Pokemon left on the battlefield, so Alchemator is the winner! gg and wp to everyone, and congratulations to Alchemator!
