[OVERVIEW]
==================

Alomomola is one of the best mixed walls in the tier because of its extremely high HP, high Defense, and amazing typing. It has access to Regenerator and Wish, which enable it to heal itself and its teammates upon switching out. It also has access to Scald and Knock Off, which make it able to check common threats such as Sneasel, Delphox, Flygon, Durant, Glalie, and Houndoom. However, due to its horrible offensive presence, it becomes a setup fodder for many sweepers and entry hazard setters. It also faces competition from Jellicent, which has better offensive presence as well as access to Taunt and Recover, but Jellicent lacks Regenerator and Wish and is weak to Knock Off.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Scald
move 4: Toxic / Knock Off
item: Leftovers
ability: Regenerator
nature: Bold / Impish
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
============

Wish lets Alomomola heal itself as well as its teammates fairly easily. Protect is used to safely heal Alomomola with Wish, rack up Toxic damage, scout Choice-locked Pokemon, and gain an extra turn of recovery from Leftovers. Although Scald is extremely weak due to Alomomola's base 40 Special Attack, it has a 30% chance to burn the foe, crippling physical attackers such as Escavalier, Rhyperior, and Virizion on the switch. It can also burn common switch-ins such as Amoonguss, which doesn't like the residual burn damage. Toxic puts any Pokemon that's not immune to it on a timer and stops them from setting up freely, as well as allowing Alomomola to win stall wars easily. Knock Off can also be used as a utility move to remove Choice items and break the Substitute of Substitute + Calm Mind Meloetta, which otherwise sets up on Alomomola.

Set Details
=============

The EVs increase Alomomola's overall bulk and give an extra turn of recovery from Leftovers. A spread of 104 HP / 252 Def / 152 SpD with Bold nature can be used to check physical threats such as Life Orb Druddigon and Choice Band Flygon better. Leftovers gives Alomomola residual recovery, which is great when combined with Wish and Protect. Regenerator is used to recover HP while switching out and passing Wish; letting Alomomola focus less on healing itself throughout the match. An Impish nature is used alongside Knock Off to break Substitute + Calm Mind Meloetta's Substitute. A Bold nature increases Alomomola's physical bulk, making it able to deal with the likes of Choice Scarf Tyrantrum, Life Orb Durant, and Swords Dance Samurott better.

Usage Tips
============

Alomomola should be used as a mixed wall, switching into any move it's not weak to, as well as providing Wish support for itself and for its teammates that lack reliable recovery. Alomomola should focus on wearing down its foes by burning or poisoning the foe, depending on whether they're physically or specially oriented, as it has poor offensive prowess. The combination of Alomomola's great bulk and Regenerator gives it the opportunity to switch into a lot of attackers, scout their set, and then switch out relatively harmlessly. Remember that Alomomola usually kills momentum, so it should not be used on an offensive team; it is suited better on balanced or stall teams.

Team Options
===========

Pokemon that can take Electric- and Grass-type attacks are great teammates for Alomomola, such as Amoonguss, Roselia, and Virizion. Amoonguss can create a great Regenerator core with Alomomola, as Alomomola can take Fire- and Flying-type moves. Roselia can use common Alomomola switch-ins as Spikes fodder, while Virizion can use them as setup fodder. Escavalier, Druddigon, Flygon, Houndoom, and Scrafty can also defeat the Pokemon that trouble Alomomola while providing offensive pressure with their sheer power and good bulk. These Pokemon also appreciate Wish support from Alomomola, as they get worn down easily. Clerics such as Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull are good partners to Alomomola, as they can remove status that can wear down Alomomola. Bronzong, Registeel, or Mega Steelix can make a great defensive core with Alomomola, as they can counter a good portion of Grass- and Electric-types while Alomomola takes Fire- and Ground-type attacks for them and provides Wish support.

Other Options
===============

Waterfall can be used over Scald for more power to check Houndoom and Delphox much more easily, but Scald's 30% chance to burn foes is more valuable. Mirror Coat can be used to punish special attackers that try to KO Alomomola, but its other moves are too valuable to be replaced. Magic Coat can be used to avoid status ailments, Taunt, and entry hazards, as well as gain residual recovery from Leftovers because Alomomola can use it repeatedly. Healing Wish can be used on offensive teams to recover win conditions while not losing momentum as well as act as a defensive pivot. Refresh can be used to cure Alomomola from status ailments, which otherwise reduces Alomomola's longevity. Tickle can be used to stop setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Scrafty and Bulk Up Gurrdurr by PP stalling them.

Checks and Counters
===============

**Grass-types**: Amoonguss, Roselia, Virizion, and Rotom-C take minimal damage from Scald and are immune to Toxic. Roselia does not care about getting burned due to Natural Cure. These Pokemon can threaten Alomomola with a super effective STAB move or, in Roselia's case, use free turns to set up Spikes. Even though Virizion and Rotom-C hate being burned, Virizion can still use Alomomola as setup fodder, while Rotom-C can Volt Switch out to provide momentum for the team.

**Electric-types**: Jolteon and Eelektross don't care about Alomomola's attacks and can set up Substitutes or OHKO Alomomola with their STAB moves.

**Substitute Users**: Setup sweepers such as Substitute + Calm Mind Meloetta, Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary, and Shed Skin Scrafty can set up on Alomomola easily, as it cannot inflict status ailments against Pokemon behind Substitutes and lacks the offensive power to break the Substitute. Shed Skin Scrafty can set up and rely on its ability to cure it from status.

**Status Ailments**: Toxic cripples Alomomola, reducing its longevity and its ability to Toxic stall foes, forcing it to either switch out frequently or rely on a cleric.

  • It also faces competition from Jellicent and Gastrodon, mainly because they have better offensive stats.
Remove that, Mola doesn't have competition from anything really, its a wish passer with regen. Jellicent breaks stall better than mola thanks to taunt wisp hex and recover, and is less of a set up fodder, so if you want to mention competition with bulky waters thats why, gastrodon is irrelevant

  • It also has a terrible Special Defense stat, making it really weak to usual Special Attackers such as Eelektross and Jolteon.
Terrible is a stretch, it can actually deal with most neutral special attacks easily, and I'm not even sure eel can 2hko unless it uses Thunderbolt. Just say that it has an exploitable weakness to strong Special Attackers, if you must.

Mention Waterfall in moves as an option over Scald, it allows Mola to Check Houndoom and Delphox much more easily.

In usage tips I wouldn't say mola should be used as a physical wall, its really a mixed wall that can cover any attacker that doesn't have a boosting move or a super effective STAB move.

Implement those an QC approved 1/3

i'm gonna be nitpicky with this b/c it's an important mon

overview:

"Alomomola is one of the best physical walls in the tier because of its extremely high HP, high Defense and amazing typing."

llamas already specified that it's more of a mixed wall than a physical wall, you need to fix this point

"It also has a poor Special Defense stat, making it weak to usual Special Attackers such as Eelektross and Jolteon."

yeah no shit a water-type can't beat electric-types, this is nothing new here and this point adds nothing of value. don't exaggerate how bad its special defense stat is because it really isn't. it can pivot into exploud's boomburst, tank super effective thunderbolts, etc. that's not "poor" in the least bit.

alomomola's only flaw is its lack of offensive presence. that's the only thing that holds it back.

moves:

"Knock Off can also be used as a utility move to remove Choice-items which would be helpful for the team."

knock off alomomola does one special thing that very few defensive pokemon can claim to do: check subcm meloetta. this point needs to be specified. in addition, i would say a -speed nature is worth running when using knock off on alomomola b/c the boost in power is quite important.

knock off alomomola can also beat non cm sigilyph one-versus-one, which is also quite good

0- Atk Alomomola Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Meloetta: 94-112 (23.2 - 27.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Alomomola Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Meloetta: 104-124 (25.7 - 30.6%) -- 2% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

it actually has a chance to not break meloetta's sub when running a -atk nature, which brings me to my next point:

the nature needs to be bold followed by impish for the reason i mentioned above. alomomola needs the physical bulk in this meta to more easily pivot out/deal with the likes of tyrantrum, lo durant, sd samurott, etc

252+ Atk Choice Band Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 120 HP / 136 Def Alomomola: 393-463 (78.4 - 92.4%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Choice Band Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 357-421 (71.2 - 84%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

tickle should be mentioned in other options seeing as how it allows alomomola to pp stall dd scrafty in addition to preventing setup from the likes of gurdur

also do add the QC tag on the title. it's important to have and makes these analyses easier to keep track of.
All implemented. Thanks Spirit

The overview is way too small lol. Some stuff you can add: it has access to scald and knock off, can check a lot of threats like flygon, houndoom, glalie, sneasel, all of which are very good atm. Also the fact that it faces a bit of competition from Jellicent as a bulky water, but it has wish and no weakness to knock off over it while lacking recover and better offensive presence.

"Toxic is used in the last slot as it puts setup sweepers such as Meloetta, Gallade, and Tyrantrum on a timer"

It's not just setup sweepers honestly, it's any Pokemon not immune to it. But I guess a good way to reword what you're trying to say is to mention that it puts a timer on any mon and doesn't allow setup mons to setup completely free.

also meloetta's setup set is subCM which beats mola anyway thanks to sub ignoring toxic so yeah, not the best of examples.

"beating non Calm Mind Sigilyph 1v1"

does it? what about LO sigilyph w/ energy ball?

Magic Coat can reflect status, taunt, hazards, and it can keep spamming it basically

I'll QC once you do that

Mirror Coat can be used to punish Special Attackers special attackers that try to KO it Alomomola, but its other moves are too valuable to be replaced. Magic Coat can be used to avoid status ailments, Taunt, and entry hazards, as well as gain residual recovery from Leftovers since because Alomomola can use it repeatedly. Healing Wish can be used on offensive teams to recover win conditions while not losing momentum despite and yet, being as well as act as a defensive pivot. Refresh can be used to cure Alomomola from status ailments, which otherwise reduces Alomomola's longevity. Tickle can be used to stop setup sweepers such as Dragon Dance Scrafty and Bulk Up Gurrdurr by PP stalling them.

Checks and Counters

**Grass-types**: Amoonguss, Roselia, Virizion, and Rotom-Mow Rotom-C take minimum minimal damage from Scald and are immune to Toxic. Roselia does not care about getting burned due to its Natural Cure. These Pokemon can threaten Alomomola with a super effective STAB move or, in case of Roselia's case, use free turns to set up Spikes. Even though Virizion and Rotom-Mow Rotom-C hates to get being burned, and Virizion can still use Alomomola as a setup fodder, while Rotom-Mow Rotom-C can Volt Switch out to provide momentum for the team.

**Electric-types**: Jolteon, (RC) and Eelektross don't care about Alomomola's attacks and can set(space)up Substitutes or OHKO Alomomola with their STAB moves.

**Substitute Users**: Setup sweepers, (RC) such as Substitute + Calm Mind Meloetta, Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary, and Shed Skin Scrafty can set up on Alomomola easily, (AC) as it cannot inflict status through ailments against Pokemon behind Substitutes, and it lacks the offensive power to break the Substitute. Shed Skin Scrafty can set up and rely on its ability to cure it from status, rendering Alomomola as a setup fodder.

**Status Ailments**: Toxic cripples Alomomola, reducing its longevity and its ability to toxic stall foes, forcing it to either switch out frequently or relying on a cleric.

[OVERVIEW]
==================

Moves
============

Wish lets Alomomola heal itself as well as its teammates fairly easily. Protect is used to safely heal Alomomola with Wish, rack up Toxic damage, scout Choice-locked Pokemon, and gain an extra turn of recovery from Leftovers. Although Scald is extremely weak with due to Alomomola's base 40 Special Attack, it has a 30% chance to burn the foe, crippling physical attackers such as Escavalier, Rhyperior, and Virizion on the switch.

Set Details
=============

Usage Tips
============

===========

Pokemon that can take Electric- and Grass-type attacks are great teammates for Alomomola, such as Amoonguss, Roselia, and Virizion. Amoonguss can create a great Regenerator core with Alomomola, while as Alomomola can take Fire- and Flying-type moves. Clerics such as Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull are good partners to Alomomola, as they can remove status fairly easily that can wear Alomomola down. Bronzong, Registeel, or Mega Steelix can make a great defensive core with Alomomola, as they can counter a good portion of Grass- and Electric-types, (RC) while allowing Alomomola to takes Fire- and Ground-type attacks for them as well as and provides Wish support.
