Amoonguss [Revamp]

[QC:] Leftiez, TDK, TheEnder.
[GP:] GatoDelFuego, P Squared.

[OVERVIEW]
With Regenerator providing semi-reliable recovery, Amoonguss is a decent defensive pivot and wall. A good amount of bulk allows Amoonguss to check prime threats such as Gengar, Keldeo, and Azumarill, and it resists five fairly common types in Fairy, Fighting, Electric, Water, and Grass. Amoonguss's access to Spore can decide games by shutting down a key Pokemon. However, Amoonguss is weak to four common offensive types and has a lackluster offensive presence and low Speed, meaning some Pokemon can set up on it easily if it does not carry Clear Smog. Amoonguss also faces competition from other defensive Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, which has higher bulk, and Chesnaught, which can check key Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Bisharp, and Crawdaunt.

[SET]

evs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
nature: Calm

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Spore allows Amoonguss to put something to sleep, potentially crippling it for the majority of a game. Giga Drain offers recovery and hits Water-types such as Keldeo and Azumarill super effectively. Clear Smog lets Amoonguss stop setup sweepers such as Dragonite, Suicune, and Clefable. Sludge Bomb in tandem with Clear Smog allows Amoonguss to beat Mega Altaria more reliably. Hidden Power Fire enables Amoonguss to do damage to Steel-types that can switch into Amoonguss's STAB attacks, such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. Foul Play uses the opposing Pokemon's physical Attack against them, letting Amoonguss deal more damage than with its STAB attacks. Notably, it lets Amoonguss deal more damage to Swords Dance Scizor if lacking Hidden Power Fire.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread and nature allow Amoonguss to effectively check Choice Band Azumarill, Keldeo lacking Icy Wind, and Thundurus lacking Hidden Power Flying. If a better check to all Keldeo, Thundurus, Gengar, and other special attackers is needed, a spread of 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SpD and a Calm nature can be used. Amoonguss still checks Azumarill effectively with this spread as well. Black Sludge gives Amoonguss passive recovery and the ability to punish users of Trick or Switcheroo. Regenerator lets Amoonguss stay healthy throughout the match, allowing Amoonguss to be used as a pivot and to consistently take hits.

Usage Tips
========

Amoonguss's primary job is being a pivot. Because of this, it will switch many times in a match thanks to its resistances, bulk, and Regenerator healing. Spore is not a move to be used immediately. You want to Spore something that threatens your team, not something your team has answers for. Carefully survey your opponent's team during Team Preview and choose a target for Amoonguss to Spore. When using Spore, be wary of Grass-type and Overcoat switch-ins, as you waste a turn if you mispredict, giving your opponent momentum. Once Spore has been used, Amoonguss might become a sitting duck for some Pokemon or setup bait without Clear Smog. If your opponent is going to switch in sleep fodder, capitalize on this by double switching, healing Amoonguss with Regenerator and bringing in a counter of your own. Amoonguss is a Poison-type, meaning it gets rid of Toxic Spikes upon switching in.

Team Options
========

Amoonguss appreciates Pokemon such as Slowbro, Slowking, and Alomomola, which also utilize Regenerator for continuous healing. Rotom-W and Heatran are able to take care of Talonflame and have good type synergy with Amoonguss. Clefable can handle Latios, which is a threat to Amoonguss; Unaware variants can also handle Mega Gallade. Mega Charizard Y can punch holes in the teams Amoonguss finds itself on; Chansey, Latias, Dragonite, and specially defensive Talonflame are good answers to this Pokemon. Mega Sableye bounces back entry hazards that can render Amoonguss's Regenerator less effective, and Amoonguss resists the only type Mega Sableye is weak to, Fairy. Amoonguss also handles Calm Mind Clefable and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria for Sableye with Clear Smog. Entry hazard removal is helpful, as Amoonguss doesn't like having its Regenerator hampered. Options include Latios, Mandibuzz, Skarmory, Excadrill, Tentacruel, Starmie, Mega Scizor, and Zapdos.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Synthesis seems like a decent option on Amoonguss because of the reliable recovery, but it's redundant with Regenerator and is hampered by sand and rain. Energy Ball might also seem like a decent option due to its stronger Base Power, but Giga Drain's utility is much more appreciated and the power isn't needed. Toxic is another option one could consider, but the types of teams Amoonguss is placed on are stall-inclined, so Toxic is a redundant option. Stun Spore is another option, as it enables Amoonguss to stop some setup sweepers, but Amoonguss has Clear Smog for this purpose anyway. If your team needs it, an Amoonguss with no item equipped is a good way to check Belly Drum Azumarill much better. However, Amoonguss likes the passive recovery of Black Sludge more. If using this type of Amoonguss, a spread of 252 HP / 220 Def / 32 SpD may be used to not be OHKOed by Knock Off after Stealth Rock.

Checks & Counters
===================

**Setup Sweepers**: After Sleep Clause is activated, Amoonguss, depending on its moveset, is a sitting duck for some setup sweepers. Mega Tyranitar is one to note, as it resists Foul Play and takes nearly nothing from Giga Drain in sandstorm. It's able to overpower Clear Smog with its powerful attacks. Scizor is immune to Clear Smog, but it is hurt by Hidden Power Fire and Foul Play, so it should be wary.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Volcarona, and Victini threaten Amoonguss out with their super effective STAB attacks, but they should be vary of being crippled by Spore.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types such as Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gallade, Mega Medicham, Latios, Latias, and Jirachi are able to deal heavy damage to Amoonguss with their STAB attacks. However, they all fear being put to sleep by Spore.

**Ice-types**: Ice-types such as Mamoswine, Kyurem-B, and Weavile threaten Amoonguss out; Mamoswine and Kyurem-B in particular are hard to switch into, and they can easily damage Amoonguss's teammates.

**Flying-types:** Flying-types such as Mega Pinsir, Talonflame, Staraptor, Talonflame, Tornadus-T, and Hawlucha threaten Amoonguss out. Mandibuzz gets a special mention for being immune to Spore because of Overcoat.

**Steel-types**: Amoonguss has problems with Steel-types, they resist its STAB types and can deal heavy damage back to it. Ferrothorn gets a special note, as it is immune to Sludge Bomb, Clear Smog, and Spore and is only 3HKOed by Hidden Power Fire. Bisharp fears Spore and Hidden Power Fire, but Assault Vest variants can come in more safely and Pursuit trap Amoonguss or Knock Off its item. Skarmory can threaten Amoonguss with a STAB Brave Bird, and specially defensive sets do not fear Hidden Power Fire, but Skarmory is also threatened by Spore. Mega Metagross can threaten Amoonguss out, but Mega Metagross fears Spore and Foul Play.

**Poison-types**: Gengar, if given a free switch, can Taunt Amoonguss to prevent Spore and fears none of Amoonguss's attacks bar Foul Play. Mega Venusaur is immune to Spore, takes neutral damage from Sludge Bomb and Hidden Power Fire, and can hit back with Knock Off or its own Hidden Power Fire. Toxicroak fears Spore and Hidden Power Fire, but it can use its strong STAB moves against Amoonguss. Tentacruel has the ability Liquid Ooze, making Giga Drain hamper Amoonguss's longevity, and takes little damage from Amoonguss's moves.

**Clerics**: Heal Bell and Aromatherapy users are able to heal opposing teams of status spread by Amoonguss in a single turn. Chansey and Blissey in particular laugh at Amoonguss's attacks and, thanks to Natural Cure, can't be crippled by Spore.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that this is ready for QC stage. I finished up everything in the main set and now we just need to iron out the specific errors.

E: When this is in the writing stage I'll make the C&C look a little less bland during some parts, so don't worry about that.

Overview
########
  • Has a giant HP stat and good bulk.
  • Grass and Poison typing give it key resistances to Water, Fighting, Fairy, Electric, and Grass.
  • One of the few defensive Pokémon that has access to Spore.
  • Immune to Toxic. not really important imo
  • A great ability in Regenerator lowering the need for instant recovery in a moveslot. mention amoonguss is a great defensive pivot b/c of this
  • Grass and Poison also gives it weaknesses to common offensive types in Fire, Flying, Ice, and Psychic.
  • Very low offensive presence and low speed.
  • Once Sleep Clause is activated can turn into set up fodder if lacking Clear Smog.
  • mention competition from mega venu and other bulky grasses such as celebi/chesnaught?

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Spore is the bread and butter of Amoonguss, it's required to use it in OU. mention it let's it pivot in, spore something, pivot out into something to kill??
  • Giga Drain offers STAB to the table and allows some recovery.
  • Hidden Power [Fire] hits the Steels that like to switch into Amoonguss. such as? give examples of stuff, such as ferro
  • Foul Play uses the opponents Attack stat in calculation, which gets over Amoonguss' low offensive stats.
  • Clear Smog stops Amoonguss from being total set up fodder, also offering STAB. beats setup pokemon such as azumarill especially
  • Sludge Bomb is a more powerful alternative that hits harder but leaves Amoonguss open to set up.

Set Details
========
  • EVs allow Amoonguss to take on Belly Drum Azumarill, Keldeo lacking Icy Wind, and Thundurus lacking Hidden Power [Flying].
  • An alternate spread of 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SpD with a Calm nature can be used to hit the last benchmark on Special Defense, which enables you to check Thundurus and Keldeo better.
  • Black Sludge provides passive recovery and cripples users of Trick or Switcheroo.
  • Regenerator allows Amoonguss to pivot and regain heath when it switches out to keep it healthy.
  • No item Amoonguss is a very solid option to help against Belly Drum Azumarill, as Knock Off won't do as much damage and only 2HKOs Amoonguss.

Usage Tips
========
  • Amoonguss is used as a pivot, it will switch around many times during a match due to its resistances, bulk, ability to wall common Pokémon, and Regenerator.
  • Spore should not be used recklessly, as Sleep Clause stops it from effecting the opponent after one use of it, Amoonguss should also be wary of Grass and Overcoat switch ins, as they are immune to Spore.
  • After Spore has been used, Amoonguss can be rendered helpless in front of Pokémon without the ability to lull them to sleep.
  • Amoonguss is usually able to use Spore only once per match, and Spore can be a game-changing move. is this really true?
  • Spore is very prediction reliant, you should predict on what they're going to sleep fodder and try to gain momentum from that switch.
  • Using double switches helps alleviate the issue of Amoonguss being set up fodder after your Spore has been used.

Team Options
========
  • Amoonguss can be supported by Pokémon like Slowbro, Slowking, and Alomomola who utilize Regenerator for a solid defensive core and two thirds of a Fire, Water, and Grass core.
  • Rotom-Wash and Heatran make good partners, as they can take care of Talonflame, they also share synergy with Amoonguss and take some of the weaknesses Amoonguss has, and they also form a Fire, Water, and Grass core.
  • Clefable can handle Latios, something that threatens Amoonguss.
  • Switch ins to Mega Charizard Y, like Chansey, Latias, Latios, Dragonite, and Specially Defensive Talonflame, among others are appreciated.
  • Standard defensive Pokémon like Quagsire, Gliscor, and Skarmory fit on teams that Amoonguss does often.
  • Mega Sableye can bounce back hazards that hamper Amoonguss' Regenerator ability, and Amoonguss also resists Fairy, the only weakness Mega Sableye has. especially d-dance alt and cm clefable

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Synthesis is a usable option that can give Amoonguss reliable recovery, but is redundant with Regenerator and Amoonguss is strapped for moveslots.
  • Energy Ball is a strong Grass STAB but is mostly inferior to Giga Drain because of its lack of recovery. remove it, e-ball sucks. giga is so much better
  • Toxic is a viable option if you require more chip damage, but teams that Amoonguss are on should have Toxic users, so it's generally not useful to waste a slot to.
  • Stun Spore is another option, allowing Amoonguss to take the way as some form of paralysis spreader after your opponent wakes from Spore.

Checks & Counters
===================

**Setup Sweepers**
After Spore has been used and Sleep Clause is activated, Amoonguss, depending on its moveset. Mega Tyranitar is one to note, it resists Foul Play and takes nothing from Giga Drain in sandstorm. It's able to overpower Clear Smog with its powerful attacks. Scizor is immune to Clear Smog, but is weak to Hidden Power [Fire], and Foul Play, so it should be wary.

**Fire-types**
Fire types like Mega Charizard both forms, Heatran, Volcarona, and Victini threaten Amoonguss out.

**Psychic-types**
Psychic types like Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gallade, Mega Medicham, Latios, Latias, and Jirachi, are Psychic types that threaten Amoonguss out.

**Ice-types**
Ice types like Mamoswine, Kyurem-Black, and Weavile threaten Amoonguss out.

**Flying-types**
Flying types like Mega Pinsir, Talonflame, Staraptor, Talonflame, Tornadus-Therian, and Hawlucha threaten Amoonguss out. Mandibuzz gets a special mention for being immune to Spore because of Overcoat.

**Steel-types**
Amoonguss has problems with Steel types, they resist its STAB and can deal heavy damage back to it. Ferrothorn gets a special note, as it is immune to Sludge Bomb, Clear Smog, and Spore, and is only 3HKOed by Hidden Power [Fire]. Bisharp fears Spore and Hidden Power [Fire], but Assault Vest variants can come in more safely and Pursuit trap Amoonguss, or Knock Off its item. Skarmory can threaten with a STAB Brave Bird, and Specially Defensive sets do not fear Hidden Power [Fire], but Skarmory is also threatened by Spore. Mega Metagross was mentioned above, but fits in this catagory as well, but Mega Metagross fears Spore and Foul Play.

**Grass-types**
As Amoonguss can't Spore opposing Grass types, they are a threat to him. Serperior can't do much to Amoonguss without boosts and fears Clear Smog, but can be a free switch in to Spore. Mega Venusaur is a big threat, as it's neutral to all of Amoonguss' attacks and can Knock Off its item. Celebi can come in on Spore but fears Clear Smog and Sludge Bomb, but can Baton Pass away to gain momentum if you switch.

**Clerics**
Clerics can ignore your Spores and heal damage Amoonguss does, Chansey and Blissey get a special mention as they fear none of Amoonguss' attacks and are essentially immune to Spore due to Natural Cure.
Not QC haha, don't listen to me if you want. Usage tips seem kind of all over the place though.

Obviously you'd have to remove mentions of Greninja, old meta trends, etc. BUT whoever plans on taking this needs to know right now that no item Amoonguss is a viable option if you're using this as the defensive check to BD Azumarill (aka the one that now runs Knock Off!!!). I do this on almost any stall team I have now a days to help mitigate issues with BD Azu. This wouldn't be a slash though fyi but merits an important part in set details.
DarkNostalgia I'll start fixing it up later.

E: Done most of the things mentioned. In my experiences Amoonguss only gets in one Spore per game because of Sleep Clause and the constant sleep foddering, you have to think cleverly to get in a Spore. I also kept Energy Ball because it was on the last Analysis and it can do something.

Goddammit AM, you can make me look lie a moron without even posting. Then can there at least be a mention of running more Defense EVs to survive Knock Off after Rocks? You need 220.

It has giga drain anyway, you can say Charizard X or Dragonite

I wouldnt mention a grass type section as check even though serperior and celebi can check spore they cant do shit in return which means they are not check, i would swap it for a poison type section and add Gengar, Venu and Toxicroak

Move no item Amoonguss to OO. It's kind of hard to justify on most teams for the super specific asset of Knock Off Azumarill. Please and thanks.

the current spread is pretty outdated; it isn't really useful anymore because Azumarill can run Knock Off + Belly Drum together now, so it's probably to make the spread achieve different things, like handling CB Azumarill reliably and checking Gengar prior to a Sleep Fodder. Ironically enough you get this spread by just changing the nature to Calm. This lets you take three Play Roughs from Azumarill if you Giga Drain after switching in.

  • The slashes on the set should look like this:
move 1: Spore
move 2: Giga Drain
move 3: Sludge Bomb / Hidden Power [Fire]
move 4: Clear Smog / Hidden Power [Fire]

Running Sludge Bomb + Clear Smog allows Amoonguss to much more reliably beat Mega Altaria, and outstall CM Clefable (edit: becuase Clear Smog does so little damage they can outstall it, but having Sludge Bomb alongside it means they have to waste healing PP, and eventually they will go down). Having STAB Sludge Bomb with a chance to poison, alongside Clear Smog, makes it much less of a sitting duck after it has used Spore, too. Move Foul Play to the Moves section, with high priority.
  • Mention hazard removal somewhere in Team Options. Multiple layers of Spikes can make Amoonguss unable of swithing into certain threats (such as Gengar), lowering its usefulness.
  • Mention in Usage Tips that as a Posion-type Amoonguss removes Toxic Spikes upon siwtching in, which is something to keep in mind while playing.
qc 3/3, good work

Ok, in its current state this analysis has both a lot of easy-to-fix "smogon style" issues and a lot of run-on sentences / not complete sentences. Rather than me or somebody else totally rewriting this, I'd like to work with you on how to fix this up Mudvayne. For the moment, don't worry about getting this GP checked.

Spore is the bread and butter of Amoonguss, one of the biggest things going for it, it allows Amoonguss to be able to cripple something for the majority of a game and turn tides for your side of the field. Giga Drain is a good STAB attack that offers recovery and the ability to do damage to Pokemon like hits Water-types such as Keldeo and Azumarill. Hidden Power Fire enables Amoonguss to do damage to Steel-types that can switch into Amoonguss's STAB attacks, such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. Clear Smog lets Amoonguss stop setup sweepers like such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Clefable. Sludge Bomb is a more powerful alternative with a chance to poison the opponent, but can make Amoonguss vulnerable to sweepers may leave Amoonguss opened to set up. Foul Play is a good option to use on Amoonguss. Foul Play lets Amoonguss use opponents the opposing Pokemon's physical Attack against them, letting Amoonguss deal more damage than it should with its STAB attacks. Notably, it lets Amoonguss deal more damage to Swords Dance Scizor, (RC) if lacking Hidden Power Fire as Scizor is immune to Clear Smog.

Set Details
========

The given EV spread and nature given allow Amoonguss to effectively check Choice Banded Azumarill, Keldeo lacking Icy Wind, and Thundurus lacking Hidden Power Flying. If a better check to all Keldeo, Thundurus, and Gengar, and other special attackers is needed, a spread of 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SpD and a Calm nature can be used. Amoonguss still checks Azumarill effectively as well. Black Sludge gives Amoonguss well liked passive recovery and the ability to punish users of Trick or Switcheroo via the secondary effect of Black Sludge on non-Poison types. Regenerator is the ability that lets Amoonguss stay healthy throughout the match, allowing Amoonguss to be thrown around used as a pivot and to consistently take hits.

Usage Tips
========

Amoonguss's primary job is being a pivot. Because of this, it will switch many times in a match as thanks to its resistances, bulk, and Regenerator healing on switch out. Spore is a move not to be used immediately. You want to Spore something that threatens your team, not something your team has answers for. great tips here! Carefully survey your opponent's team during Team Preview, and choose a target for Amoonguss to Spore. When using Spore, be wary of Grass-type and Overcoat switch-ins, as you waste a turn from them being immune to Spore, giving your opponent momentum and losing your own. Once Spore has been used, Amoonguss may might become a sitting duck for some Pokemon, or setup bait without Clear Smog. Spore is a threat to some Pokemon. If your opponent is going to switch in sleep fodder, capitalize on this by double switching, healing Amoonguss with Regenerator and bringing in a counter of your own, it may give you the upper hand in a heated match. Double switches are helpful to Amoonguss giving it Regenerator health or pivoting it in on something it checks or counters. This also helps aid Amoonguss when Sleep Clause is activated, as it can be a sitting duck against some things. Amoonguss is a Poison-type, meaning it gets rid of Toxis Spikes upon switching in being a pivot, it gets rid of Toxic Spikes on switch in, something to take note of.

Team Options
========

Amoonguss appreciates Pokemon such as Slowbro, Slowking, and Alomomola, (AC) which that utilize Regenerator, (AC) for a strong defensive core and create two thirds of a Fire, Water, and Grass core, a good type core continuous healing. This also forms the basis of a Fire / Water / Grass core. Rotom-Wash and Heatran are able to take care of Talonflame, (RC) and have good type synergy with Amoonguss and resist some of Amoonguss's weaknesses, while Amoonguss does the same. Clefable can handle Latios, (AC) which is a threat to Amoonguss; (SC) in particular, which is a strong Psychic type against Amoonguss, Unaware variants can also handle Mega Gallade. Mega Charizard Y is a threat and can punch holes in the teams Amoonguss finds itself on; (SC) Pokemon like Chansey, Latias, Dragonite, and specially defensive Talonflame are good answers to this Pokemon. Entry hazard removal is good helpful, as Amoonguss doesn't like having its Regenerator hampered. Options include, but are not limited to, Latios, Mandibuzz, Skarmory, Excadrill, Tentacruel, Starmie, Mega Scizor, and Zapdos.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Synthesis seems like a decent option on Amoonguss because of the semi reliable recovery, but it's redundant with Regenerator and is hurt by sand and rain. Sand and Rain are also prevalent. Energy Ball may might seem like a decent option due to its stronger Base Power, but Giga Drain's utility is much more appreciated and the power isn't needed. Toxic is another option one could consider, but the types of teams Amoonguss is on makes Toxic redundant with the other members of said teams. why is this? I don't quite follow the reasoning Stun Spore is another option one could see as being useful, as it enables Amoonguss to stop some setup sweepers, but it has Clear Smog for this reason anyway. If your team needs it, an Amoonguss with no item equipped is a good way to check Belly Drum Azumarill much better. It's an emergency option and However, Amoonguss likes the passive recovery of Black Sludge anyway more. If using this type of Amoonguss, a spread of 252 HP / 220 Def / 32 SpD may be used to not be OHKOed by Knock Off after Stealth Rock.

Checks & Counters
===================

**Setup Sweepers**: remove the enter after each of these After Spore has been used and Sleep Clause is activated, Amoonguss, depending on its moveset, may be is a sitting duck for some setup sweepers. Mega Tyranitar is one to note, as it resists Foul Play and takes nearly nothing from Giga Drain in sandstorm. It's able to overpower Clear Smog with its powerful attacks. Scizor is immune to Clear Smog, but is weak to hurt by Hidden Power Fire, (RC) and Foul Play, so it should be wary.

**Fire-types**:
Fire-types like such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Volcarona, and Victini threaten Amoonguss out with their super effective STAB attacks.

**Psychic-types**:
Psychic-types like such as Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gallade, Mega Medicham, Latios, Latias, and Jirachi, (RC) are able to deal heavy damage to Amoonguss with their STAB attacks.

**Ice-types**:
Ice-types like such as Mamoswine, Kyurem-Black, and Weavile threaten Amoonguss out. (period) Mamoswine and Kyurem-Black in particular are hard to switch into, and may put holes in your team can easily damage Amoonguss's teammates.

**Flying-types:**
Flying-types such as like Mega Pinsir, Talonflame, Staraptor, Talonflame, Tornadus-Therian, and Hawlucha is Hawlucha even a threat? threaten Amoonguss out. Mandibuzz gets a special mention for being immune to Spore because of Overcoat.

**Steel-types**:
Amoonguss has problems with Steel-types, as they resist its STAB attacks and can deal heavy damage back to it. Ferrothorn gets a special note, as it is immune to Sludge Bomb, Clear Smog, and Spore, (RC) and is only 3HKOed by Hidden Power Fire. Bisharp fears Spore and Hidden Power Fire], but Assault Vest variants can come in more safely and Pursuit trap Amoonguss, (RC) or Knock Off its item. Skarmory can threaten with a STAB Brave Bird, and specially defensive sets do not fear Hidden Power Fire], but Skarmory is also threatened by Spore. Mega Metagross was mentioned above, but fits in this category as well can threaten Amoonguss, but Mega Metagross fears Spore and Foul Play.

**Poison-types**:
Gengar, if given a free switch, can Taunt Amoonguss to prevent Spore and fears none of Amoonguss's attacks bar Foul Play. Mega Venusaur is immune to Spore, neutral to Sludge Bomb and Hidden Power Fire], and can fire hit back with its own Hidden Power Fire], or Knock Off Amoonguss's item. Toxicroak fears Spore and Hidden Power Fire], but can use its strong STAB moves against Amoonguss; (SC) it also resists and do a good amount, while also resisting Foul Play. Tentacruel has the ability Liquid Ooze, making Giga Drain hamper Amoonguss's longevity, (AC) and takes little damage from Amoonguss's moves. Tentacruel resists every other attack bar Foul Play, but doesn't take much from that attack.

**Clerics**:
Clerics can heal sleep and damage Amoonguss inflicts. your Spores from their teammates and heal damage Amoonguss does, Chansey and Blissey get a special mention as they fear none of Amoonguss's attacks and are essentially immune to Spore due to Natural Cure.

Great work on this! Cleaning it up a bit really improved the analysis :)

Amoonguss is on makes Toxic redundant with the other members of said teams. why is this? I don't quite follow the reasoning

The teams Amoonguss falls into are usually stall inclined, meaning Toxic is a common move on those teams.
