The arena

The battlers are on a solid platform in the middle of a giant bowl filled with delicous broth. No move restrictions at all, because you can safely go seismetoad on the platform and there is plenty of broth to swampert your enemies with. In the soup, there is one of each letter unown floating in around aimlessly. They are all close enough to pick up, and a battler may use one action each round (they can't just use three unowns) to use any move that begins with that letter. Once an unown is used, it cannot be used again.

How it's gonna go down

  • AOPSUser chooses his first pokemon
  • Yarnus of Bethany chooses his first pokemon and gives orders
  • AOPSUser gives orders
  • Objection refs

I should mention now that I'm pretty sure "If a move with an Unown" is an illegal sub because it covers literally every move.

Ah, Unown Soup, one of the most commonly-used arenas. Today, AOPSUser and Yarnus of Bethany are battling on it. Yarnus sends out Peck the Spearow, while AOPSUser sends out a Metapod ... what's the Metapod's name? Oh right, Compound Lens. Peck doesn't care about the name though and chooses to Fly into the air to build up an attack. But just before he strikes, Compound Lens Hardens her exterior, not only lessening the blow by a small amount, but also causing Peck to injure his beak. This minor injury isn't enough to stop him striking with a Drill Peck, whereas Compound Lens' attack, a simple Tackle, proves to be completely ineffective! Once again, Peck decides to Fly into the air for another aerial strike, and once again, a well-timed Harden from Compound Lens causes the Spearow to take minor recoil damage. But the Metapod, for all her defensiveness, doesn't appear to be able to strike.

Peck flies into the air

Compound Lens' defence is raised by 1 stage

Peck unleashes Fly
Roll a D100 for accuracy: 84 - hit
Roll a D16 for crit: 6 - no crit
Compound Lens takes (9+3+(3-2)*1.5)*1.5+(0-1)*1.75=18.5 damage
Peck takes (18.5/10)=1.85 recoil damage

Peck uses Drill Peck for 5 energy
Roll a D16 for crit: 11 - no crit
Compound Lens takes (8+3+(3-2)*1.5)*1.5+(0-1)*1.75=17 damage

Compound Lens uses Tackle for (2+(1/3))=2.33 energy (round to 2)
Roll a D16 for crit: 7 - no crit

FYI: Tackle did 0 damage because rank 0 attack grants an attack bonus of -1, whereas rank 2 defence grants a defence bonus of 2*1.5=3. -1 - 3 = -4, and ceil(3.5) = 4, and 4 - 4 = 0.

AOPSUser, you're up now.

OUCH!

Unown S (Swords Dance) --- Unown E (Explosion) --- die

-If Spearow uses (evasive move) A2, replace with Unown D (Dragon Dance) and push actions back.
-If Spearow uses Fly A2, use Unown P (Protect) and push actions back.

You're only allowed 1 Unown a round, I think.
If that's the case, then:

Unown E (Explosion) --- Chill --- Harden

If (evasive move) is used, Harden that turn and push actions back.
If Fly is used A1, use Unown C (Counter).

If that is not the case, stick with the actions above.

Let's hope Hitler the Larvitar does a better job. Peck goes on the offensive with Steel Wings, but it appears he's not used to flying with metal wings so his aim is a tad off. Hitler uses some rocks to Smack Down the Spearow, bringing him to the ground, but this seems to improve Peck's aim and his second Steel Wing attack hits. Hitler then beats his chest like a Belly Drum (with help from Unown B) and roars loudly as he jumps into the air and lands so hard that he creates a massive Earthquake that leaves Peck shaking in his talons. However, the Spearow has plans of his own and uses Unown C to Counter that attack, and suddenly the Larvitar just collapses! This Spearow is unstoppable!

What does a shiny new Captain Nido the male Nidoran do when Peck the Spearow uses Unown D to Dark Void him? He uses Unown P to Protect himself of course! And how does a Captain Nido deal with a Peck striking with a Drill Peck? By poisoning him with his poisonous points! And then frying him with a Thunderbolt.
