Puppy Purple Power

[OVERVIEW]

Poison Arceus is often overlooked in the ORAS Ubers metagame, but its unique typing in the Uber tier allows it to function as a formidable check to Fairy-types such as Xerneas. It also has other qualities that are great for an Arceus forme, such as being immune to poison, eliminating Toxic Spikes upon entry, and being able to smash Clefable, a task that most Arceus cannot accomplish. Furthermore, Poison Arceus has the fantastic bulk, Speed, and support movepool that all Arceus have, and its Poison typing in particular assists it against balance and stall teams, as the combination of Toxic immunity and bulk is difficult for passive teams to break. Unfortunately, Poison Arceus sports no other key resistances, with Fighting being a much less common and threatening type than it has been in previous generations, and it has weaknesses to common Ground- and Psychic-type moves. Offensively, its typing is not stellar either, having no common trumps other than to Fairy-types, while the common Steel-types are immune to it. Primal Groudon, Latios, and Latias drastically hurt Poison Arceus's viability, and like several other defensive Arceus formes, it can wind up being bait for threats such as Ho-Oh, Kyogre, and Mewtwo. The greatest reason Poison Arceus sees little use, however, is because running it means you forfeit the ability to use an Arceus type that can preform better in a wider field of roles.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Being immune to Toxic eliminates a major check to Arceus formes, giving Poison Arceus a unique niche as a Calm Mind user. Recover is a given to keep Poison Arceus healthy and allow it to be able to continually set up Calm Mind. Earth Power is the best coverage option for Calm Mind Poison Arceus, as it hits the Steel-types immune to Poison Arceus's STAB attack while also dealing good damage against Primal Groudon. Sludge Bomb is used over Judgment because the slight drop in power is often worth the 30% chance to poison the foe; this can be especially useful against Latias, Latios, and Kyogre switch-ins, and it gives Poison Arceus the edge in a Calm Mind war. Judgment is still an option for those that prefer the additional power. Fire Blast is another coverage option that can be run in place of Earth Power, as it allows Poison Arceus to smash threats such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory.

Set Details
========

248 HP EVs are used to capitalize on Poison Arceus's natural bulk and aid in the setup of Calm Mind. 176 Speed EVs with a Timid nature meet the benchmark of outspeeding Pokemon with base 110 Speed and below. The remaining 84 EVs are placed into Special Attack to slightly increase Poison Arceus's damage output. Running maximum Speed investment is another option in order to Speed tie with opposing maximum Speed Arceus formes. An alternate spread of 248 HP / 164 SpD / 96 Spe with a Timid nature is another option that gives up some Speed and offensive power to better check Geomancy Xerneas.

Usage Tips
========

An integral part of using a Calm Mind Arceus is to make liberal use of Calm Mind. Setting up with Calm Mind when your opponent has a check that can immediately force Poison Arceus out only serves to give your opponent a free turn. Calm Mind should also not be set up when your opponent still has an offensive check to Poison Arceus, such as Mewtwo or Deoxys-A, because you cannot hope to get past them alive. Frequent use of Recover is needed to keep Poison Arceus healthy enough to still be a check for intended threats and to also prevent it from being knocked out by a potential critical hit while setting up. This set greatly struggles against Ho-Oh and has to be at +2 with Stealth Rock up if it is to have any chance of breaking it; in the case of an inevitable switch to Ho-Oh, it is best to double switch to an appropriate check. It should be noted that this set can break through Latias and Latios, but only if they have prior damage, as Poison Arceus has been EVed to outspeed them. In general, this set can be played more offensively to help prevent the Pokemon for which it is bait to from getting free turns, such as fishing for poison when throwing around Sludge Bomb.

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that is able to smash a variety of Poison Arceus's checks, such as Steel-types, while Poison Arceus can absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon. Latias and Latios have their weakness to the Fairy-type covered by Poison Arceus while they also provide an immunity to Ground-type attacks aimed at Poison Arceus. Yveltal can also provide a Ground immunity and appreciates Poison Arceus's ability to check Fairy-types. If Calm Mind Poison Arceus is used on an offensive team, Darkrai is a teammate that appreciates the check to Fairy-types, particularly Choice Scarf Xerneas. Giratina-O and Sableye are both defensive Pokemon that can also greatly benefit from having Poison Arceus as a teammate, as their greatest weakness is to Fairy. Although Klefki stacks a weakness to Ground-types and Ho-Oh, it can be a great teammate, as it checks Latios and Latias and can also cripple other threatening Pokemon such as Mewtwo. Primal Kyogre can check defensive Ground-types for Poison Arceus and also helps to pressure Primal Groudon, Latios, and Latias. Tyranitar can provide Poison Arceus with a check to Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias, while in return Poison Arceus can take Fairy- and Fighting-type attacks aimed at Tyranitar. Kyurem-W is an offensive partner that can blast through Ground-types, Latios, and Latias, while Zekrom can check Kyogre and Ho-Oh and revenge kill Mewtwo. Lastly, Rayquaza can serve as an offensive check for both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, and it has enough sheer power to adequately threaten any defensive check to Poison Arceus.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Poison Arceus has a unique niche as a Defogger, as it is immune to Poison while also having solid defensive stats and instant recovery. Recover is a mandatory move that maintains longevity; this is especially crucial when pitted against balance and stall teams which struggle to knock out Poison Arceus. Poison Jab is used in place of Sludge Bomb or Judgment, as it can 2HKO any Xerneas lacking extensive Defense investment. Poison Jab is also better at hitting Mewtwo switch-ins, can 3HKO Gothitelle, and retains the 30% chance to poison targets. Thunder Wave is used to cripple Xerneas, Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias, the latter three of which are common switch-ins to Poison Arceus. Will-O-Wisp is an alternative status option that can neuter Ground- and Steel-types such as Ground Arceus, Excadrill, Klefki, and Ferrothorn.

Set Details
========

248 HP EVs are used in order to make the greatest use of Poison Arceus's natural bulk. 204 Defense EVs with an Impish nature allow Poison Arceus to tank a Psystrike from Mewtwo. 56 Speed EVs are enough to outspeed Adamant Rayquaza, while use of Thunder Wave in general helps Poison Arceus to still move first despite the low Speed investment. An alternate spread of 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed all Pokemon up to maximum investment base 100 Speed Pokemon at the cost of some physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

This Poison Arceus set is best used on more defensive teams that need to role compress anti-entry hazard support, a check for Geomancy Xerneas, and a method to break through defensive Fairy-types. While this set can comfortably check any Xerneas set, you should make sure that Poison Arceus stays healthy enough that it can properly do so. This usually means playing this set more defensively, for example by opting to Recover as Arceus forces a foe out rather than attacking. Poison Arceus is immune to Toxic and clears away Toxic Spikes; use it to absorb both so that the rest of your team remains poison-free. It dislikes being burned, however, so keep it away from Scald and Will-O-Wisp, as the passive damage and Attack drop to Poison Jab limit its effectiveness. Thunder Wave can only hit opposing Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias as they come in, as in most circumstances Poison Arceus cannot afford to stay in against them. While it can be tempting to remove entry hazards as soon as possible, it is important to note that in some cases it is better to use Thunder Wave to prevent a powerful foe from coming in for free. If using Will-O-Wisp, you will similarly want to hit faster Ground-types such as Ground Arceus as they come in. Do not switch out if Arceus is against a Mega Scizor or a Klefki, as they cannot hope to touch Arceus while it can burn them with Will-O-Wisp. Outside of the 30% chance to poison a target via Poison Jab, this set cannot hope to punish Primal Groudon, so if you expect it to switch in, make sure you have a defensive check available, or alternatively double switch immediately to an offensive check.

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that can threaten a variety of this set's checks, such as Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn. In return, Poison Arceus can be used to absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon and Defog away Spikes. Yveltal provides a handy Ground immunity, while many of its checks are Fairy-types that Poison Arceus is capable of tackling. Primal Kyogre can threaten many of the Ground-types that Poison Arceus fears, and it also appreciates the removal of entry hazards. Both Latias and Latios can check Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre for Poison Arceus, and the Defog support from Poison Arceus increases the set options for Latias and Latios. Giratina-O provides a Ground immunity and a method to check Mewtwo and Deoxys-A, while in return Poison Arceus can check Fairy-types for it. Sableye is able to check both Mewtwo and Deoxys-A for Poison Arceus, which can act as a solid switch-in for Fairy-types that want to hit Sableye. Ho-Oh can be used to blast through Ferrothorn and further pressures the Ground-types that check Poison Arceus, while the rainbow bird greatly appreciates the Defog support. Lugia can greatly benefit from the Defog support in order to keep its Multiscale intact and also benefits from Poison Arceus's ability to absorb Toxic; in return, Lugia can check Primal Groudon, Latios, Latias, and Ground-types. Tyranitar benefits from having Poison Arceus as a partner to take Fairy-and Fighting-type attacks, while Tyranitar can check Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias. Mega Scizor is an interesting partner choice that can Pursuit Latios and Latias, and when paired with Poison Arceus the two threaten Fairy-types. However, Mega Scizor does stack a weakness to Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Kyogre.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Swords Dance set is a possible option that retains Poison Arceus's ability to check Fairy-types while having a physically offensive presence. The greatest issue with such a set is that it is not particularly good at breaking any traditional Extreme Killer Arceus checks other than Clefable, thus leaving it mostly outclassed. Roar can be used to force out Geomancy Xerneas and prevent Poison Arceus from being setup bait for a few other threats, although the move can be difficult to find room for. Ice Beam is a coverage option that can hit Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Mega Salamence for massive damage, but it doesn't hit much else. Magic Coat is highly useful for deflecting Taunt and entry hazards, but Poison Arceus doesn't really have the room for it either. Will-O-Wisp is an option on the Calm Mind set to neuter physical attackers; however, mono-Poison coverage has become significantly less effective in ORAS Ubers as compared to previous generations. Psych Up could be used to copy stat changes from a Pokemon such as Xerneas; however, it only sees use in a few specific situations. Perish Song can be used on a support set to place a timer on any Pokemon that attempts to set up or come in, although finding room for it is difficult. If needed, you can run Tailwind support, but this is only ever useful for a very specific type of build. Poison Arceus has access to Stealth Rock, but, because it can lose to Latias and Latios in addition to being bait for Ho-Oh, it is a poor choice on a Pokemon that doesn't really have room for it. Lastly, Stone Edge is a move that could be run on the support set to let Poison Arceus bait Ho-Oh and then knock it out; however, it has virtually no other use.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: Calm Mind Poison Arceus is able to mitigate its weakness to Primal Groudon by running Earth Power, but it still does not want to face one at full health. The support set has no method of combating this threat at all, while Primal Groudon can threaten to knock out Poison Arceus with its Ground-type STAB moves.

**Mewtwo**: While it does not want to switch into a Thunder Wave or a Poison Jab, Mewtwo has the Speed, type advantage, and offensive power to maintain an advantage over Poison Arceus in almost any situation.

**Deoxys-A**: Sporting the most powerful Psychic-type attack in the game along with the Speed and Special Attack to fully take advantage of it, Deoxys-A can revenge kill Poison Arceus easily.

**Ho-Oh**: Due to its immense special bulk, the only thing Ho-Oh fears when switching into Calm Mind Poison Arceus is being poisoned by Sludge Bomb. Offensive sets can deal enough damage with Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, or Earthquake to break down Poison Arceus.

**Latias and Latios**: Latios and Latias will not like switching into Thunder Wave or being poisoned by Poison Arceus's STAB moves, but they can deal significant damage with a Calm Mind-boosted Psyshock.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre has the bulk to absorb Poison Arceus's STAB moves and has the sheer power to break through Poison Arceus with neutral Water-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Gliscor, Ground Arceus, Excadrill, and Landorus-T can all be a handful for Poison Arceus. Gliscor has the typing and defensive capabilities to prevent it from being broken by Poison Arceus, Ground Arceus can blast through with a Swords Dance-boosted Earthquake, Excadrill is immune to Poison and also has a strong Earthquake, and offensive Landorus-T packs a punch and only fears Will-O-Wisp.

**Psychic Arceus**: The highly uncommon Psychic Arceus can beat Poison Arceus one-on-one due to its type advantage.

**Sableye**: Sableye has access to priority Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, and Recover to slowly break down Poison Arceus, which can only hope to poison Sableye with its STAB attacks.

**Kyurem-W and Reshiram**: Both Kyurem-W and Reshiram have powerful special attacks that can 2HKO the support Poison Arceus set; however, they do not resist Poison Arceus's moves.

**Ferrothorn**: Unless Poison Arceus carries Fire Blast or Will-O-Wisp, Ferrothorn can force a stalemate.

Reeeeeeally need Earth Power for the CM set now IMO. Otherwise you're getting too badly decked by Primal Don

Yea I agree, most Steel-types can't break you anyways so the question is if the Fire moves are even worth keeping in moves. Here is basically what each of the coverage options allows Arceus-Poison to do.

Earth Power:
- Hitting P Don
- Killing Mega Gengar if it Taunts you
- Hitting Dialga
- Hitting Klefki
- Hitting Aegi
- Killing Excadrill
- Hitting Mega Metagross (minor)
- Hitting Heatran (very minor)
- Hitting Tentacruel (very minor)
- Hitting Arceus-Steel (very minor)

Will-O-Wisp:
- Neutering Landorus-T (much more rare than it used to be)
- Robbing Lugia of Multiscale and Leftovers
- Burning Arceus-Ground that switch in
- Neutering Mega Scizor (it can't touch you anyways)
- Neutering Aegislash (it can't touch you anyways)
- Burning Excadrill that switch in
- Burning Ferrothorn (it still stalemates with you)
- Burning Genesect that switch in (this type of situation like never happens)
- Burning Mega Metagross (rare)
- Burning Groudon (very rare)

Fire Blast:
- Outright killing Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory
- Also hits Klefki, Aegi and Mega Metagross

Sludge Bomb > Judgment, difference in power is not that significant and the solid poison rate can upset Mewtwo, Latias, CM Ogre, and give you the edge in some CM wars. Earth Power is definitely the best option bc Groudon is absolutely everywhere and you still hit most Steel types, but Fire Blast is an interesting alternative. Will-O-Wisp sucks, mono Poison coverage isn't good enough.

I'd take Heatran off Checks & Counters, it is an awful Pokemon in this metagame to a point where I would never seriously consider using it. If another QC wants to speak for its viability, go ahead but it's total ass imo. Replace Rock Slide with Stone Edge in OO, remove Substitute which this will never use (already Toxic immune) and Grass Knot is also not even OO worthy. There are others I'd take out but I'm not as uneasy about anything else.

Did those things, I initially write the Other Options section to be highly inclusive, so just mention if something specific on that list isn't worthy.

Earth Power is the best coverage option for Calm Mind Arceus-Poison, as it hits the Steel-types immune to its STAB move, while also dealing good damage against Primal Groudon. Sludge Bomb is used over Judgment because the slight drop in power is often worth the 30% chance to badly poison the opponent; this can be especially useful against Latias, Latios, and Kyogre switch-ins, and gives Arceus-Poison the edge in a Calm Mind war. Judgment is still an option for those that prefer the additional power. Although it is not slashed, Fire Blast is a coverage option that can be run in place of Earth Power,(RC) as it allows Arceus-Poison to smash threats Steel-types that resist Earth Power, (AC) such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory.

Set Details

A Toxic Plate is required so that Arceus is transformed to transform Arceus into Arceus-Poison, and it further serves to boosts the power of Poison-type moves. 248 HP EVs are used to capitalize on Arceus-Poison's natural bulk and aid in the setup of Calm Mind. 176 Speed EVs with a Timid nature meet the benchmark of outspeeding Pokemon with 110 base Speed and below. Kyurem-W is an offensive partner option that can blast through Ground-types and the Eon twins, while Zekrom can check Kyogre, Ho-Oh, and revenge kill Mewtwo. Usage Tips
========

This Arceus-Poison set is best used for more defensive teams that need to role compress requiring anti-entry hazard support, a check for Geomancy Xerneas, and a method in which to break through defensive Fairy-types. While this set can comfortably check any Xerneas set, one should make sure that Arceus-Poison remains with has enough health such that it can properly do so. This usually means playing this set more defensively, such as opting to Recover as you force an opponent out rather than attacking. Arceus-Poison is immune to Toxic and clears away Toxic Spikes; use it to absorb both so that the rest of your team remains Poison-free. Arceus-Poison dislikes being burned, so keep it away from Scald and Will-O-Wisp as the passive damage and attack drop to Poison Jab limit its effectiveness. Thunder Wave can only hits opposing Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias as they come in as Arceus-Poison cannot afford to stay in against them under most circumstances. While it can be tempting to want to remove entry hazards as soon as possible, it is important to note that in some cases it is it's better to use Thunder Wave as to prevent a powerful foe from coming in for free. If using Will-O-Wisp, similarly you will want to hit faster Ground-types such as Arceus-Ground as they come in. Furthermore, do not switch out if you are you're against a Mega Scizor or a Klefki, as they cannot hope to touch you while you can burn them with Will-O-Wisp. Outside of the 30% chance to poison a target via Poison Jab, this set cannot hope to appropriately punish Primal Groudon, so if you expect it to switch in, make sure you have a defensive check available or alternatively double switch immediately to an offensive check.

Team Options

Primal Groudon is a teammate that can threatens a variety of this set’s checks, such as Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn. In return, Arceus-Poison can be used to absorbs Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon and Defogs away Spikes. Yveltal provides a handy Ground immunity for Arceus-Poison, while many of its checks are Fairy-types that Arceus-Poison is capable of tackling. Primal Kyogre can threaten a variety of the Ground-types that Arceus-Poison fears, (RC) while it also and appreciates the removal of entry hazards. Both Latias and Latios can serve as checks to Primal Ground Groudon and Primal Kyogre for Arceus-Poison, and with Defog support being run on Arceus this further increases the set options for the Eon twins with Defog support from Arceus-Poison. Giratina-O provides a ground immunity and a method to checks Mewtwo and Deoxys-A, while in return Arceus-Poison can check Fairy-types for it in return. Sableye can also perform a similar function, being able to check both Mewtwo and Deoxys-A for Arceus-Poison, while in return having a solid switch-in for Fairy-types. Ho-Oh can be used to blast through Ferrothorn and further pressures the Ground-types that check Arceus-Poison, while the rainbow bird greatly appreciates the Defog support. Lugia can greatly benefit from the Defog support in order to keep Multiscale intact and further benefits from Arceus-Poison’s ability to absorb Toxic while in return Lugia can check Primal Groudon, Latios, Latias, and Ground-types in return. Tyranitar benefits from having Arceus-Poison as a partner to stomach Fairy-and Fighting-type attacks, while Tyranitar can check Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias. Mega Scizor is an interesting partner choice that can Pursuit Latios and Latias, and forms a threatening duo to Fairy-types, however it does stack has a carries weaknesses to Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Kyogre.

Other Options

A Swords Dance set is a possible option that retains allows Arceus-Poison's (Remove Apostrophe) ability to check Fairy-types while having a physically offensive presence. Ice Beam is a coverage option that can hits Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Mega Salamence, but it doesn't hit doesn't cover other threats. Magic Coat is highly useful for deflecting Taunt and entry hazards, although Arceus-Poison doesn't really have the room for it either. Will-O-Wisp is an option on the Calm Mind set to neuter physical attackers, however Mono-Poison coverage has become significantly less effective in ORAS Ubers as compared to previous generations. Psych Up could be used to copy copies stat changes from a Pokemon such as Xerneas, however it only sees use in a few specific situations but has limited use. Perish Song can be used on a support set to place a counter on any Pokemon that attempts to setup or come in trying to set up or enter the battlefield, although it has limited room finding room for it is difficult. If needed, Tailwind support can be run, but this is only ever useful for a very specific type of build. Arceus-Poison It also has access to Stealth Rock, however because it can lose to Latias and Latios in addition to being bait for Ho-Oh, (RC) but it is a poor choice on a Pokemon that doesn't really have room for it anyways due to it being bait for Ho-Oh and losing to Latias and Latios. Lastly, Stone Edge is a move that could be run on the support set to bait Ho-Oh and then knock it out, however is but has virtually no other use. (I think you should combine all the moves that Arceus-Poison doesn't have room for, in order to make it flow better.)

**Primal Groudon**: Calm Mind Arceus-Poison is able to can mitigate its weakness to this threat because it runs with Earth Power, however it still but does not want to do battle with one at full health. The support set has no method of combating this threat at all while dealing with Primal Groudon, (AC) who can threaten to knock out KO Arceus-Poison with its STAB Ground moves.

**Mewtwo**: While it does not want to switch into a Thunder Wave or a Poison Jab, Mewtwo has the Speed, type advantage, and offensive power to maintain an advantage over Arceus-Poison in almost any situation.

**Deoxys-A**: Sporting the most powerful Psychic-type attack in the game along with the Speed and Special Attack to abuse it, Deoxys-A can revenge kill Arceus-Poison.

**Ho-Oh**: Due to its immense special bulk, the only thing it only fears when switching into Calm Mind Arceus-Poison is being poisoned from Sludge Bomb when switching into Calm Mind Arceus Poison. Offensive sets can deal enough damage with Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, or Earthquake to break down Arceus-Poison.

**Latias and Latios**: The eon twins will not like switching into Thunder Wave or being poisoned by Arceus-Poison’s STABs, however but they can both deal significant damage with a Calm Mind boosted Psyshock.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre holds a resistance to Arceus-Poison’s STABs and has the sheer power to break through Arceus-Poison with neutral Water-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Gliscor, Arceus-Ground, Excadrill, and Landorus-T can all be a handful are a nuisance for Arceus-Poison. Gliscor has the typing and defensive capabilities to prevent from being broken by Arceus-Poison, while Arceus-Ground can blast through with a Swords Dance boosted Earthquake.(Add Full Stop) ,(RC) Excadrill and Offensive Landorus-T are capable of dealing tons of damage, (AC) with Excadrill packing an immunity to is immune to the Poison-type poisoning and also has a strong Earthquake, (RC) while offensive Landorus-T packs a punch and only fears fearing Will-O-Wisp.

**Arceus-Psychic**: The highly uncommon Arceus-Psychic can beat Arceus-Poison one-versus-one one-on-one due to its type advantage.

**Sableye**: Sableye has prioriy priority Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, and Recover to slowly break wear down Arceus-Poison, who can only hope to get Sableye poisoned by poison Sableye with its STAB attacks.

Overview

Arceus-Poison is often overlooked in the ORAS Ubers metagame, but its unique typing allows it to function as a formidable check to Fairy-types such as Xerneas. Its Poison typing [no hyphen when saying typing] also has other qualities that are great for an Arceus forme, such as being immune to poisoning, eliminating Toxic Spikes upon entry, and being able to smash Clefable, (semi -> comma) which is a task that most Arceus cannot accomplish. Furthermore, Arceus-Poison retains the fantastic bulk, Speed, and support movepool that all Arceus have at their disposal, while its Poison typing in particular assists Arceus against balance and stall teams, as the combination of Toxic immunity and bulk is difficult for passive teams to break. Unfortunately, Arceus-Poison sports no other key resistances, with Fighting being a much less common and threatening type than it has been in previous generations, while defensively, Poison retains weaknesses to common Ground- and Psychic-type moves. Offensively, its typing is not stellar either, having no common trumps other than to Fairy-types, while common Steel-types are immune to it. The rise of new threats in ORAS such as Primal Groudon, Latios, and Latias, (RC) drastically impacts Arceus-Poison's viability, and like several other defensive Arceus formes, it can wind up being bait for returning threats such as Ho-Oh, Kyogre, and Mewtwo. Most of all, the greatest reason Arceus-Poison sees little use is due to the opportunity cost in using it, as it forfeits the ability to use an Arceus type that preforms better in a wider field of roles.

move 2: Recover
move 3: Earth Power
move 4: Sludge Bomb / Judgment
item: Toxic Plate
ability: Multitype
evs: 248 HP / 84 SpA / 176 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========

Being immune to Toxic eliminates a major traditional check for Arceus formes, giving Arceus-Poison a unique niche as a Calm Mind Arceus. Recover is a given to keep Arceus-Poison healthy, (RC) and thus, (RC) allow it to be able to continually set up Calm Mind. Earth Power is the best coverage option for Calm Mind Arceus-Poison, as it hits the Steel-types immune to its STAB move, (RC) while also dealing good damage against Primal Groudon. Sludge Bomb is used over Judgment because the slight drop in power is often worth the 30% chance to badly poison the foe opponent [opponent = player, foe = Pokemon]; this can be especially useful against Latias, Latios, and Kyogre switch-ins, and it gives Arceus-Poison the edge in a Calm Mind war. Judgment is still an option for those that prefer the additional power. Although it is not slashed, Fire Blast is a coverage option that can be run in place of Earth Power, as it allows Arceus-Poison to smash threats such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory.

Set Details
========

A Toxic Plate is required so that Arceus is transformed into Arceus-Poison, and it further serves to boost the power of Poison-type moves. 248 HP EVs are used to capitalize on Arceus-Poison's natural bulk and aid in the setup of Calm Mind. 176 Speed EVs with a Timid nature meet the benchmark of outspeeding Pokemon with base 110 base Speed and below. The remaining 84 EVs are placed into Special Attack to slightly increase Arceus-Poison's damage output. While it is not slashed in the spread anywhere, running maximum Speed investment is certainly an option in order to Speed tie with opposing maximum Speed Arceus formes.

Usage Tips
========

An integral part of using a Calm Mind Arceus is to make liberal use of Calm Mind. Setting up with Calm Mind when your opponent has a check that can force Arceus-Poison out immediately only serves to give your opponent a free turn. Calm Mind should also not be set up when your opponent still has an offensive check to Arceus-Poison, (AC) such as Mewtwo or Deoxys-A, because you cannot hope to get past them alive. Frequent use of Recover is needed to keep Arceus-Poison healthy enough to still serve as a check for intended threats, (RC) and to also prevent from being knocked out by a potential critical hit while setting up. This set greatly struggles against Ho-Oh and has to be at +2 with Stealth Rock up if it is to have any chance of breaking through; in the case of an inevitable Ho-Oh switch-in, it is best to double switch to an appropriate check. It should be noted that this set can break through Latias and Latios, but only if they have prior damage, as Arceus-Poison has been EVed to outspeed them. In general, this set can be played more offensively to help prevent the Pokemon that it is bait to from getting free turns, such as fishing for toxic poison when throwing around Sludge Bomb.

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that is able to smash a variety of Arceus-Poison's [curly apostrophe -> regular one] checks such as Steel-types, while Arceus-Poison can absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon. Latias and Latios can have their weaknesses to the Fairy-type covered by Arceus-Poison, (RC) while also providing an immunity to Ground-type attacks aimed at Arceus-Poison. Yveltal can also provide a Ground immunity, (RC) and appreciates the check to Fairy-types that Arceus-Poison provides. If Calm Mind Arceus-Poison is used on an offensive team, Darkrai is a teammate that appreciates the check to Fairy-types, (comma not semicolon) particularly Choice Scarf Xerneas. Giratina-O and Sableye are both defensive Pokemon that can greatly benefit from having Arceus-Poison as a teammate, (AC) as their greatest weakness is to the Fairy-type. Although Klefki stacks a weakness to Ground-types and Ho-Oh, it can be a great teammate, (AC) as it checks Latios and Latias, while and it can also cripple other threatening Pokemon such as Mewtwo. Primal Kyogre can check defensive Ground-types for Arceus-Poison and also help to pressure Primal Ground, Latios, and Latias. Tyranitar can provide Arceus-Poison with a check to Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias, while in return Arceus-Poison can stomach Fairy- and Fighting-type attacks aimed at Tyranitar. Kyurem-W is an offensive partner option that can blast through Ground-types, (AC) Latios, (AC) and Latias and the Eon twins, while Zekrom can check Kyogre, Ho-Oh, and revenge kill Mewtwo. Lastly, Rayquaza can serve as an offensive check for both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, and it has while having enough sheer power to adequately threaten any defensive check to Arceus-Poison.

Support

move 1: Defog
move 2: Recover
move 3: Poison Jab
move 4: Thunder Wave / Will-O-Wisp
item: Toxic Plate
ability: Multitype
evs: 248 HP / 204 Def / 56 Spe
nature: Impish

Moves
========

Arceus-Poison has a unique niche as a Defogger, (comma over semicolon) as it is being immune to Poison while still retaining solid defensive stats and instant recovery. Recover is a mandatory move that maintains longevity; this is especially crucial when pitted against balance and stall teams which struggle to knock out Arceus-Poison. Poison Jab is used in place of Sludge Bomb or Judgment, (AC) as it can 2HKO any Xerneas lacking extensive defensive ["defensive" would refer to SpD & Def, while "Defense investment" would mean physical specifically, idk which one you mean if any] investment. Poison Jab is also better at hitting Mewtwo switch-ins, can 3HKO Gothitelle, and retains the 30% chance to poison targets. Thunder Wave is used to cripple Xerneas, Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias; (semicolon > comma) the latter three are being common switch-ins to Arceus-Poison. Will-O-Wisp is an alternative status option that can neuter Ground- and Steel-types such as Arceus-Ground, Excadrill, Klefki, (AC) and Ferrothorn.

Set Details
========

A Toxic Plate is needed so that Arceus becomes Arceus-Poison; it also boosts the power of Poison-type moves slightly. 248 HP EVs are used invested in order to make the greatest use of Arceus-Poison's [curly -> regular apostrophe] natural bulk. 204 Defense EVs with an Impish nature are employed to drastically increase physical bulk, which also allows Arceus-Poison to tank a Psystrike from Mewtwo if it has to. 56 Speed EVs are are enough to meet the benchmark of outspeeding Adamant Rayquaza, while use of Thunder Wave in general helps Arceus-Poison to maintain priority in movement despite the low Speed investment. An alternate spread of 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed all Pokemon up to maximum investment Speed base 100s Speed Pokemon at the cost of some physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

This Arceus-Poison set is best used for more defensive teams that need to role compress anti-entry hazard support, a check for Geomancy Xerneas, and a method in which to break through defensive Fairy-types. While this set can comfortably check any Xerneas set, one should make sure that Arceus-Poison remains with enough health such that it can properly do so. This usually means playing this set more defensively, such as opting to Recover as you force a foe an opponent out rather than attacking. Arceus-Poison is immune to Toxic and clears away Toxic Spikes; use it to absorb both so that the rest of your team remains Poison-free. Arceus-Poison dislikes being burned, so keep it away from Scald and Will-O-Wisp, (AC) as the passive damage and attack drop to Poison Jab limit its effectiveness. Thunder Wave can only hit opposing Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias as they come in, (AC) as Arceus-Poison cannot afford to stay in against them under most circumstances. While it can be tempting to want to remove entry hazards as soon as possible, it is important to note that in some cases it is better to Thunder Wave as to prevent a powerful foe from coming in for free. If using Will-O-Wisp, similarly you will want to hit faster Ground-types such as Arceus-Ground as they come in. Furthermore, do not switch out if you are against a Mega Scizor or a Klefki, as they cannot hope to touch you while you can burn them with Will-O-Wisp. Outside of the 30% chance to poison a target via Poison Jab, this set cannot hope to appropriately punish Primal Groudon, so if you expect it to switch in, make sure you have a defensive check available or alternatively double switch immediately to an offensive check.

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that can threaten a variety of this set's [apostrophe] checks, such as Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn. In return, Arceus-Poison can be used to absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon and Defog away Spikes. Yveltal provides a handy Ground immunity for Arceus-Poison, while many of its checks are Fairy-types that Arceus-Poison is capable of tackling. Primal Kyogre can threaten a variety of the Ground-types that Arceus-Poison fears, while it also appreciates the removal of entry hazards. Both Latias and Latios can serve as checks to Primal Ground and Primal Kyogre for Arceus-Poison, and with the Defog support from being run on Arceus-Poison this further increases the set options for Latias and Latios the Eon twins. Giratina-O provides a Ground immunity and a method to check Mewtwo and Deoxys-A, while in return Arceus-Poison can check Fairy-types for it. Sableye can also perform a similar function, (RC) being is able to check both Mewtwo and Deoxys-A for Arceus-Poison, which can act as while in return having a solid switch-in for Fairy-types. Ho-Oh can be used to blast through Ferrothorn and further pressures the Ground-types that check Arceus-Poison, while the rainbow bird greatly appreciates the Defog support. Lugia can greatly benefit from the Defog support in order to keep Multiscale intact and further benefits from Arceus-Poison's [apostrophe] ability to absorb Toxic while in return Lugia can check Primal Groudon, Latios, Latias, and Ground-types. Tyranitar benefits from having Arceus-Poison as a partner to stomach Fairy-and Fighting-type attacks, while Tyranitar can check Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias. Mega Scizor is an interesting partner choice that can Pursuit Latios and Latias, and when paired with Arceus-Poison, (AC) the two threaten form a threatening duo to Fairy-types. (period not comma) However, (AC) Mega Scizor it does stack a weakness to Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Kyogre.

Other Options
########

A Swords Dance set is a possible option that retains Arceus-Poison's ability to check Fairy-types while having a physically offensive presence. The greatest issue with such a set is that it is not particularly good at breaking any traditional Extreme Killer Arceus checks other than Clefable, thus leaving it mostly outclassed. Roar can be used to force out Geomancy Xerneas entirely, (RC) and prevents Arceus-Poison from being setup bait for a few other threats, although the move can be difficult to find room for. Ice Beam is a coverage option that can hit Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Mega Salamence, but it doesn't hit much else. Magic Coat is highly useful for deflecting Taunt and entry hazards, although Arceus-Poison doesn't really have the room for it either. Will-O-Wisp is an option on the Calm Mind set to neuter physical attackers; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) mono-Poison [hyphenate] coverage has become significantly less effective in ORAS Ubers as compared to previous generations. Psych Up could be used to copy stat changes from a Pokemon such as Xerneas; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) it only sees use in a few specific situations. Perish Song can be used on a support set to place a counter on any Pokemon that attempts to setup or come in, although finding room for it is difficult. If needed, Tailwind support can be run, but this is only ever useful for a very specific type of build. Arceus-Poison has access to Stealth Rock, however but because it can lose to Latias and Latios in addition to being bait for Ho-Oh, it is a poor choice on a Pokemon that doesn't really have room for it anyways. Lastly, Stone Edge is a move that could be run on the support set to bait Ho-Oh and then knock it out; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) is has virtually no other use.

Checks & Counters

**Primal Groudon**: Calm Mind Arceus-Poison is able to mitigate its weakness to this threat Primal Groudon by running because it runs Earth Power; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) it still does not want to face do battle with one at full health. The support set has no method of combating this threat at all while Primal Groudon can threaten to knock out Arceus-Poison with its Ground-type STAB Ground moves.

**Ho-Oh**: Due to its immense special bulk, the only thing it Ho-Oh fears when switching into Calm Mind Arceus-Poison is being poisoned from Sludge Bomb. Offensive sets can deal enough damage with Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, or Earthquake to break down Arceus-Poison.

**Latias and Latios**: The eon twins Latios and Latias will not like switching into Thunder Wave or being poisoned by Arceus-Poison's [apostrophe] STABs moves; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) they can deal significant damage with a Calm Mind-boosted [hyphenate] Psyshock.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre holds a resistance to Arceus-Poison's [apostrophe] STABs moves and has the sheer power to break through Arceus-Poison with neutral Water-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Gliscor, Arceus-Ground, Excadrill, and Landorus-T can all be a handful for Arceus-Poison. Gliscor has the typing and defensive capabilities to prevent it from being broken by Arceus-Poison, Arceus-Ground can blast through with Swords Dance boosted Earthquake, Excadrill is immune to the Poison-type and also has a strong Earthquake, and while offensive Landorus-T packs a punch and only fears Will-O-Wisp.

**Arceus-Psychic**: The highly uncommon Arceus-Psychic can beat Arceus-Poison one-versus-one due to its type advantage.

**Sableye**: Sableye has access to prioriy Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, and Recover to slowly break down Arceus-Poison, which who can only hope to poison get Sableye with poisoned by its STAB attacks.

**Kyurem-W and Reshiram**: Both Kyurem-W and Reshiram have powerful special attacks that can 2HKO Arceus-Poison; (semicolon > comma) however, (AC) they do not resist Arceus-Poison's moves although they themselves do not spout resistences to Arceus-Poison’s attacks.

**Ferrothorn**: Unless Arceus-Poison carries Fire Blast or Will-O-Wisp, (AC) Ferrothorn can force a stalemate.

Sableye is able to check both Mewtwo and Deoxys-A for Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, which can act as a solid switch-in for Fairy-types that want to hit Sableye (Logical sense otherwise not complete). Ho-Oh can be used to blast through Ferrothorn and further pressures the Ground-types that check Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, while the rainbow bird greatly appreciates the Defog support. Lugia can greatly benefit from the Defog support in order to keep its Multiscale intact and further also benefits from Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's ability to absorb Toxic; while in return, Lugia can check Primal Groudon, Latios, Latias, and Ground-types. Tyranitar benefits from having Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus as a partner to stomach take Fairy-and Fighting-type attacks, while Tyranitar can check Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias. Mega Scizor is an interesting partner choice that can Pursuit Latios and Latias, and when paired with Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, the two threaten Fairy-types. However, Mega Scizor does stack a weakness to Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Kyogre.

Other Options
########

A Swords Dance set is a possible option that retains Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's ability to check Fairy-types while having a physically offensive presence. The greatest issue with such a set is that it is not particularly good at breaking any traditional Extreme Killer Arceus checks other than Clefable, thus leaving it mostly outclassed. Roar can be used to force out Geomancy Xerneas entirely and prevents ('prevent' still hangs on 'used to') Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus from being setup bait for a few other threats, although the move can be difficult to find room for. Ice Beam is a coverage option that can hit Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Mega Salamence, but it doesn't hit much else. Magic Coat is highly useful for deflecting Taunt and entry hazards, although but Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus doesn't really have the room for it either. Perish Song can be used on a support set to place a counter on any Pokemon that attempts to setup or come in, although finding room for it is difficult. If needed, one can run Tailwind support can be run, but this is only ever useful for a very specific type of build. Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus has access to Stealth Rock, but, because it can lose to Latias and Latios in addition to being bait for Ho-Oh, it is a poor choice on a Pokemon that doesn't really have room for it. Lastly, Stone Edge is a move that could be run on the support set to bait Ho-Oh and then knock it out; however, is it has virtually no other use.

Checks & Counters
########

**Primal Groudon**: Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is able to mitigate its weakness to Primal Groudon by running Earth Power, but ; however, (repeated use of 'however') it still does not want to face one at full health. The support set has no method of combating this threat at all while Primal Groudon can threaten to knock out Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus with its Ground-type STAB moves.

**Mewtwo**: While it does not want to switch into a Thunder Wave or a Poison Jab, Mewtwo has the Speed, type advantage, and offensive power to maintain an advantage over Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus in almost any situation.

**Deoxys-A**: Sporting the most powerful Psychic-type attack in the game along with the Speed and Special Attack to abuse it, Deoxys-A can revenge kill Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus.

**Ho-Oh**: Due to its immense special bulk, the only thing Ho-Oh fears when switching into Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is being poisoned from Sludge Bomb. Offensive sets can deal enough damage with Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, or Earthquake to break down Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus.

**Latias and Latios**: Latios and Latias will not like switching into Thunder Wave or being poisoned by Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's STAB moves, but ; however, they can deal significant damage with a Calm Mind-boosted Psyshock.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre holds a resistance to Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's STAB moves (Water doesn't resist Poison) and has the sheer power to break through Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus with neutral Water-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Gliscor, Arceus-Ground Ground Arceus, Excadrill, and Landorus-T can all be a handful for Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus. Gliscor has the typing and defensive capabilities to prevent it from being broken by Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, Arceus-Ground Ground Arceus can blast through with a Swords-Dance-boosted Earthquake, Excadrill is immune to the Poison-type and also has a strong Earthquake, and offensive Landorus-T packs a punch and only fears Will-O-Wisp.

**Arceus-Psychic Psychic Arceus**: The highly uncommon Arceus-Psychic Psychic Arceus can beat Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus one-versus-one due to its type advantage.

**Sableye**: Sableye has access to prioriy priority Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, and Recover to slowly break down Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, which can only hope to poison Sableye with its STAB attacks.

**Kyurem-W and Reshiram**: Both Kyurem-W and Reshiram have powerful special attacks that can 2HKO Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus; however, they do not resist Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's moves.

**Ferrothorn**: Unless Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus carries Fire Blast or Will-O-Wisp, Ferrothorn can force a stalemate.

Resistance was a poor word choice on my part, I meant that it is bulky enough to where it doesn't really care about Arceus-Poison's attacks.

[OVERVIEW]

Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's is often overlooked in the ORAS Ubers metagame, but its unique typing in the Uber tier allows it to function as a formidable check to Fairy-types such as Xerneas. Its Poison typing also has other qualities that are great for an Arceus forme, such as being immune to poisoning, eliminating Toxic Spikes upon entry, and being able to smash Clefable, a task that most Arceus cannot accomplish. Furthermore, Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus retains has the fantastic bulk, Speed, and support movepool that all Arceus have at their disposal, while and its Poison typing in particular assists it Arceus against balance and stall teams, as the combination of Toxic immunity and bulk is difficult for passive teams to break(period) Unfortunately, Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus sports no other key resistances, with Fighting being a much less common and threatening type than it has been in previous generations, while defensively, Poison retains and it has weaknesses to common Ground- and Psychic-type moves. Offensively, its typing is not stellar either, having no common trumps other than to Fairy-types, while the common Steel-types are immune to it. The rise of new threats in ORAS such as ("the rise/introduction/departure of x" is discouraged because it will be outdated after a while) Primal Groudon, Latios, and Latias drastically impacts hurt (or a similar word) Arceus-Poison's Poison Arceus's viability, and like several other defensive Arceus formes, it can wind up being bait for returning threats such as Ho-Oh, Kyogre, and Mewtwo. Most of all, tThe greatest reason Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus sees little use, however, is due to the opportunity cost in using it, as ("opportunity cost" is discouraged as well) because running it means you forfeits the ability to use an Arceus type that preforms can perform better in a wider field of roles.

Moves
========

Being immune to Toxic eliminates a major traditional check for Arceus formes, giving Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus a unique niche as a Calm Mind Arceus user. Recover is a given to keep Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus healthy and allow it to be able to continually set up Calm Minds. (it's okay without the "s") Earth Power is the best coverage option for Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, as it hits the Steel-types immune to its Poison Arceus's STAB attack while also dealing good damage against Primal Groudon. Sludge Bomb is used over Judgment because the slight drop in power is often worth the 30% chance to badly poison the foe; this can be especially useful against Latias, Latios, and Kyogre switch-ins, and it gives Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus the edge in a Calm Mind war. Judgment is still an option for those that prefer the additional power. Although it is not slashed, (Filler) Fire Blast is another coverage option that can be run in place of Earth Power, as it allows Poison Arceus-Poison to smash threats such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Skarmory.

Set Details
========

A Toxic Plate is required so that to transform Arceus is transformed (Active voice preferred) into Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, and it further serves to boosts the power of Poison-type moves. 248 HP EVs are used to capitalize on Arceus-Poison's Poison Arceus's natural bulk and aid in the setup of Calm Mind. 176 Speed EVs with a Timid nature meet the benchmark of outspeeding Pokemon with base 110 Speed and below. The remaining 84 EVs are placed into Special Attack to slightly increase Arceus-Poison's Poison Arceus's damage output. While it is not slashed, rRunning maximum Speed investment is certainly another option in order to Speed tie with opposing maximum Speed Arceus formes.

Usage Tips
========

An integral part of using a Calm Mind Arceus is to make liberal use of Calm Mind. Setting up immediately (Malley, I /think/ he meant the forcing out is immediate, not the setting up, but I'm not sure) with Calm Mind when your opponent has a check that can immediately force Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus out immediately only serves to give your opponent a free turn. (@minority, this is kinda weird? the first sentence says set up with Calm Mind whenever possible, but the second sentence says doing so can give your opponent a free turn.) Calm Mind should also not be set up when your opponent still has an offensive check to Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, such as Mewtwo or Deoxys-A, because you cannot hope to get past them alive. Frequent use of Recover is needed to keep Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus healthy enough to still serve as be (repeated phrase) a check for intended threats and to (I kinda like the "to" for clarity) also prevent it from being knocked out by a potential critical hit while setting up. This set greatly struggles against Ho-Oh and has to be at +2 with Stealth Rock up if it is to have any chance of breaking through; in the case of an inevitable switch to Ho-Oh switch-in, it is best to double switch to an appropriate check. It should be noted that this set can break through Latias and Latios, but only if they have prior damage, as Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus has been EVed to outspeed them. In general, this set can be played more offensively to help prevent the Pokemon that it is bait to for which it is bait from getting free turns, such as for example by ('Such as' needs a noun group to refer to) fishing for poison when throwing around Sludge Bomb. (Malley, that is a legitimately beautifully constructed sentence)

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that is able to smash a variety of Arceus-Poison's Poison Arceus's checks, (@minority, there's a comma here in case you didn't catch it!) such as Steel-types, while Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus can absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon. Latias and Latios can have their weaknesses to the Fairy-type covered by Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, while they provide also providing an immunity to Ground-type attacks aimed at Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus. Yveltal can also provide a Ground immunity and appreciates Poison Arceus's ability to the check to Fairy-types that Arceus-Poison provides. If Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is used on an offensive team, Darkrai is a teammate that appreciates the check to Fairy-types, particularly Choice Scarf Xerneas. Giratina-O and Sableye are both defensive Pokemon that can also greatly benefit from having Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus as a teammate, as their greatest weakness is to Fairy. Although Klefki stacks a weakness to Ground-types and Ho-Oh, it can be a great teammate, as it checks Latios and Latias, (remove comma) and it can also cripple other threatening Pokemon such as Mewtwo. Primal Kyogre can check defensive Ground-types for Poison Arceus-Poison and also helps to pressure Primal Ground Groudon, Latios, and Latias. Tyranitar can provide Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus with a check to Ho-Oh, Latios, and Latias, while in return Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus can stomach take ('Stomach' suggests it is something Poison Arceus suffers badly from doing, rather than something at which it excels) Fairy- and Fighting-type attacks aimed at Tyranitar. Kyurem-W is an option as an offensive partner option that can blast through Ground-types, Latios, and Latias, while Zekrom can check Kyogre, and Ho-Oh, (remove comma) and revenge kill Mewtwo (see note*). Lastly, Rayquaza can serve as an offensive check for both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, and it has enough sheer power to adequately threaten any defensive check to Poison Arceus-Poison.

*************************************************************
NOTE

so we know that when we list things, we should be able to split the sentence down by the things listed, like so:
list: I have apples, bananas, and oranges.
split down: I have apples. I have bananas. I have oranges.
in this case, the verb before the first item (have) in the list gets applied to each item.
now let's apply this to sentence about Zekrom:
list: Zekrom can check Kyogre, Ho-Oh, and revenge kill Mewtwo.
split down: Zekrom can check Kyogre. Zekrom can check Ho-Oh. Zekrom can check revenge kill Mewtwo. (an error emerges! however, there is another way to split the sentence - using "can" as the verb instead of "can check" - so let's try that one too.)
split down v2: Zekrom can check Kyogre. Zekrom can Ho-Oh. Zekrom can revenge kill Mewtwo. (the third part is fine, but now the second part is wrong. hence my change!)

Moves
========

Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus has a unique niche as a Defogger, as it is immune to Poison while still retaining also having ('Still retaining' suggests that its immunity to Poison would normally limit its defensive stats and instant recovery) solid defensive stats and instant recovery. Recover is a mandatory move that maintains longevity; this is especially crucial when pitted against balance and stall teams which struggle to knock out Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus. Thunder Wave is used to cripple Xerneas, Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias,; the latter three of which are common switch-ins to Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus. Will-O-Wisp is an alternative status option that can neuter Ground- and Steel-types such as Ground Arceus-Ground, Excadrill, Klefki, and Ferrothorn.

Set Details
========

A Toxic Plate is needed so that Arceus becomes Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus; it also boosts the power of Poison-type moves slightly. 248 HP EVs are used in order to make the greatest use of Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's natural bulk (Explain why it is not 252? Just a small thing, like "and minimize damage from Stealth Rock"). 204 Defense EVs with an Impish nature are employed to drastically increase physical bulk, which also allows Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus to tank a Psystrike from Mewtwo if it has to (filler). ("...with an Impish nature drastically increase physical bulk, allowing Poison Arceus..." would also be alright) 56 Speed EVs are are enough to meet the benchmark of outspeeding outspeed Adamant Rayquaza, while use of Thunder Wave in general helps Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus to maintain priority in movement (very roundabout way of saying it) still move first despite the low Speed investment. An alternate spread of 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed all Pokemon up to maximum investment base 100 Speed Pokemon (keep Pokemon!) at the cost of some physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

This Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus set is best used for on more defensive teams that need to role compress anti-entry-(Malley, no dash needed here)hazard support, a check for Geomancy Xerneas, and a method to break through defensive Fairy-types. While this set can comfortably check any Xerneas set, one you (for consistency; you use "you" later on) should make sure that Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus remains with enough health such stays healthy enough that it can properly do so. This usually means playing this set more defensively, such as for example by opting to Recover as you Arceus forces a foe out rather than attacking. Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is immune to Toxic and clears away Toxic Spikes; use it to absorb both so that the rest of your team remains poison-free. Arceus-Poison It dislikes being burned, however, so keep it away from Scald and Will-O-Wisp, as the passive damage and attack drop to Poison Jab limit its effectiveness. Thunder Wave can only hit opposing Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias as they come in, as in most circumstances Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus cannot afford to stay in against them under most circumstances (it is clearer to have the modifier before the main verb phrase). While it can be tempting to want to remove entry hazards as soon as possible, it is important to note that in some cases it is better to use Thunder Wave to prevent a powerful foe from coming in for free. If using Will-O-Wisp, similarly you will similarly want to hit faster Ground-types such as Arceus-Ground Ground Arceus as they come in. Furthermore, dDo not switch out if you are Arceus is against a Mega Scizor or a Klefki, as they cannot hope to touch you Arceus, while you it can burn them with Will-O-Wisp. Outside of the 30% chance to poison a target via Poison Jab, this set cannot hope to appropriately punish Primal Groudon, so if you expect it to switch in, make sure you have a defensive check available, or alternatively double switch immediately to an offensive check.

Team Options
========

Primal Groudon is a teammate that can threaten a variety of this set's checks, such as Ho-Oh, Mewtwo, Kyogre, and Ferrothorn. In return, Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus can be used to absorb Toxic aimed at Primal Groudon and Defog away Spikes. Yveltal provides a handy Ground immunity for Arceus-Poison, while many of its checks are Fairy-types that Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is capable of tackling. Primal Kyogre can threaten a variety many of the Ground-types that Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus fears, while and it also appreciates the removal of entry hazards. Both Latias and Latios can serve as checks to (the previous is fine as well) Primal Ground Groudon and Primal Kyogre for Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, and the Defog support from Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus further increases the set options for Latias and Latios. Giratina-O provides a Ground immunity and a method to check Mewtwo and Deoxys-A, while in return Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus can check Fairy-types for it. Lugia can greatly benefit from the Defog support in order to keep its Multiscale intact and further also benefits from Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's ability to absorb Toxic; while in return, (comma here) Lugia can check Primal Groudon, Latios, Latias, and Ground-types.

Ice Beam is a coverage option that can hit Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Mega Salamence for massive damage (or "4x super effectively" or w/e), but it doesn't hit much else. Magic Coat is highly useful for deflecting Taunt and entry hazards, although but (nothing wrong with "although" afaik) Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus doesn't really have the room for it either. Perish Song can be used on a support set to place a counter (maybe "timer" instead? counter makes me think like...a Pokemon that counters it) on any Pokemon that attempts to set(space)up or come in, although finding room for it is difficult. If needed, you can run Tailwind support can be run, but this is only ever useful for a very specific type of build. Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus has access to Stealth Rock, but, because it can lose to Latias and Latios in addition to being bait for Ho-Oh, it is a poor choice on a Pokemon that doesn't really have room for it. Lastly, Stone Edge is a move that could be run on the support set to let Poison Arceus (otherwise kinda sounds like Stone Edge baits in Ho-Oh, which is very wrong!) bait Ho-Oh and then knock it out; however, is it has virtually no other use.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Primal Groudon**: Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is able to mitigate its weakness to Primal Groudon by running Earth Power, but; however, (repeated use of 'however') (not a huge issue, but you can implement it if you like) it still does not want to face one at full health. The support set has no method of combating this threat at all(comma) while Primal Groudon can threaten to knock out Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus with its Ground-type STAB moves.

**Mewtwo**: While it does not want to switch into a Thunder Wave or a Poison Jab, Mewtwo has the Speed, type advantage, and offensive power to maintain an advantage over Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus in almost any situation.

**Deoxys-A**: Sporting the most powerful Psychic-type attack in the game along with the Speed and Special Attack to abuse fully take advantage of (supposed to avoid "abuse") it, Deoxys-A can revenge kill Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus.

**Ho-Oh**: Due to its immense special bulk, the only thing Ho-Oh fears when switching into Calm Mind Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus is being poisoned from by Sludge Bomb. Offensive sets can deal enough damage with Sacred Fire, Brave Bird, or Earthquake to break down Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus.

**Latias and Latios**: Latios and Latias will not like switching into Thunder Wave or being poisoned by Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's STAB moves, but; however, they can deal significant damage with a Calm Mind-boosted Psyshock.

**Kyogre**: Kyogre holds a resistance to Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus's STAB moves (Water doesn't resist Poison) (good catch. "holds a resistance to" --> "doesn't take much from" or something similar) and has the sheer power to break through Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus with neutral Water-type attacks.

**Ground-types**: Gliscor, Arceus-Ground Ground Arceus, Excadrill, and Landorus-T can all be a handful for Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus. Gliscor has the typing and defensive capabilities to prevent it from being broken by Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus, Arceus-Ground Ground Arceus can blast through with a Swords-(Malley, no dash here)Dance-(@minority, yes dash here)boosted Earthquake, Excadrill is immune to the Poison-type and also has a strong Earthquake, and offensive Landorus-T packs a punch and only fears Will-O-Wisp.

**Arceus-Psychic Psychic Arceus**: The highly uncommon Arceus-Psychic Psychic Arceus can beat Arceus-Poison Poison Arceus one-versus-one one-on-one due to its type advantage.

Your prose changes are pretty much amazing. You caught most of the Poke-Grammar errors too; there are a few that you missed, but admittedly they aren't in the OP of the Spelling and Grammar Standards (they might be in the other posts in that thread, though). I left in notes about those! Speaking of comments, I did take out some of yours, but that's just because I was worried they would clutter up the check too much. Personally I love that you explain your reasoning in comments (I do it too!). I'd like to see you check a shorter/less error-filled analysis next time, because you did make one or two changes that I thought weren't necessary, and it's also important to leave correct but maybe not optimally worded things alone. But really, great check, and sorry it took over a month to get to it haha

Second check implemented. This is now done.

GP I've noticed several times in this analysis and others that you've had me change things on the first check and then change the change on the second check. Can you please collaborate more or something so that this doesn't continue to happen.
