Data Arena Compendium

Alright- I think I've been playing long enough to get a feel for what could be affected by a good arena. I'll start off by making a simple one- maybe afterwards I'll try crafting some that are Moderate and Intense.

Arena Name: Dragalge's Cave. This is an arena to help give Dragon-type pokemon an edge, but without overpowering them.

Arena: Dragalge’s Cave

Field Type: Dragon

Complexity: Simple

Format: All

Deep underneath an islet far out at sea, lies a littoral cave. The cavern is inaccessible by land, and explorers can only reach it through swimming inside. Within the large lakes of this underground space, a herd of Dragalge have made their home. These Dragalge have shaped this subterranean area to the advantage of dragon-types in general. They have left a special poison throughout the littoral cave, which has no affect on most types of pokemon. For fairy types and steel types, however, the Dragalges’ special poison has a decidedly negative effect. Fairy types- with the exception of dragon-kind’s kin, such as mega-Altaria- are immediately inflicted with toxic poison when they come into contact with it. Steel types, though not poisoned, are automatically corroded, meaning they can be affected by poison type moves and be poisoned, just as if the move Acid had been used on them.

Summary:

Effects:

*Fairy-type pokemon which enter this arena are automatically inflicted with toxic poison. The only exceptions are those that are dual-typed as dragons, such as mega-Altaria. Because of the second arena affect, fairies that are part steel-type are also affected.

*Steel-types which enter this arena permanently have the status condition ‘corroded’. This means that they can be affected by poison-type attacks and status.

Clarification: The above effects are the only effects that this arena has on battle.

Arena: Hax Arena
Field Type:
Neutral
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: No Weather

Long ago was a beautiful city where people and Pokemon lived happily and trained together to be the very best... However due to a failed experiment of a Criminal team organization, the city got abandoned and no one lives there currently... Whichever Pokemon who enters near that region have their sight's balance loss... So all moves used by those Pokemon have their accuracy lowered by 1 stage... Many trainers even tried to change these by using various moves but they couldn't remove the issue... Even Perfect Accuracy moves missed... There was a ASB Arena for tournaments hosted in this city... Nowadays trainers who are strongest of all come in this arena to battle other strong trainers... There are still other side-effects of the failed experiment in the city due to which any Pokemon coming closer to the city gets high critical hit ratio and higher chance for its moves secondary effects...

Description:

1) All Pokemon have Natural Accuracy at -1...

2) Any Accuracy based move will not increase this Pokemon's Accuracy above -1... So If Hone Claws is used at -1 Accuracy, Accuracy wont rise... However, if Hone Claws is used at -2 Accuracy, it will increase Accuracy by 1 stage...

3) Perfect Accuracy Moves are lowered down to 100% Accurate moves before applying -1 Accuracy effect...

4) All Pokemon gain abilities Serene Grace and Super Luck which cannot be removed/switched/changed by any means... E.g. Gastro Acid will not stop Pokemon from using these 2 abilities, Skill Swap cannot be used on these 2 abilities, etc.

Arena: Crumbling Laboratory
Field Type: Poison
Complexity: Intense
Format: Multiples

Description: TBD

Effects:
  • Default weather is Miasma. Miasma has the following properties:
    • Deals 1 DPA to all Pokemon that are not Poison-type. Miasma does not damage Steel-type Pokemon while their exterior remains uncorroded, but once a Steel-type's exterior corrodes they will be susceptible to the Miasma same as any other Pokemon.
    • Continually activates Rain Dish and Dry Skin, restoring 1 HP per action.
    • If other weather is summoned, it adds on to these effects instead of replacing them.
    • Weather Ball is always Water-type.
  • Black Sludge heals one extra HP per action.
  • The spread penalty for seismic attacks is x0.5 instead of x0.75.
  • All Pokemon learn the move Acid. If a Pokemon already knows Acid, they learn Acid Spray instead.
  • Trainers choose what Pokemon to send in after having been hit with a phazing move, rather than have the RNG decide it.
  • The item Expert Belt has no effect.
  • You may use items you do not own, with the exception of legendary signature items. You may still use a legenday sig item if you own it, though.
  • Pokemon gain +5 to all of their true base stats except speed. If the new stat crosses the rank threshold their ASB stats are changed accordingly, including BRT. A list of fully-evolved Pokemon boosted by this effect (as well as viable NFE Pokemon) is here.
===
  • Nature Power calls Acid Spray.
  • Secret Power has a 30% chance to badly poison.
  • Camouflage makes the user Poison-type.

* All Pokemon are wearing custom-designed armor and wielding custom-designed weapons. All Pokemon gain the effects of the abilities Battle Armor, Shield Dust, and No Guard. These abilities cannot be removed or nullified by any means.

Arena: The Sky Laboratory
Field Type: Poison
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles

Description: A weird yet good at experimenting lab in the sky. To battle here, you have to let the scientists perform a few experiments...

Effects:

  • It's the sky, so Flying-type moves have their BAP increased by 1 and Ground-type moves have their BAP decreased by 1.
  • One serum that has been tested on your Pokemon is the Immunity Serum. Pokemon select a type to be immune to upon sendout.
  • Another serum that has been tested is the Testosterone Serum. All Pokemon are treated as male inside the laboratory.
  • Acid and Acid Spray bypass the Immunity Serum and remove its effect on the target.
  • All Pokemon learn the move Acid.
===
  • Nature Power calls Acid Spray.
  • Secret Power has a 30% chance to badly poison.
  • Camouflage makes the user Steel-type.

Arena:A Painless World
Field Type: None
Complexity: Intense
Format: Any

Description: A wide world to explore... and the power of a good god to do so safely...

Effects:

  • The god loves creativity! Any move that has not been used previously in the battle will have its BAP increased by 3 and EN cost reduced by 2, while moves that have been used three or more times already will have their BAP reduced by 2 and EN cost increased by 1.
  • The world does not have a source for any type of attack, regardless of whether it needs one normally or not. The first move of any type will create a source for the type instead of its normal effect. Pokemon who gain STAB on a move can use the attack, halving duration, effect chance, and BAP, but this will not then create a source.
  • Flavor actions have a higher chance of suceeding.
  • All Pokemon restore 3 HP at the end of each action.
===
  • Nature Power calls Metronome(Oblivion Wing, Geomancy, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Precipice Blades, Dragon Ascent, Origin Pulse, Chatter, Psystrike, Judgment)
  • Secret Power has a 30% chance to create a source for a random sourceless type.
  • Camouflage makes the user typeless.

Arena: The Plagued Village
Field Type: Dark, Ghost
Complexity: Intense
Format: Melee

Description: A village plagued by evil spirits and disease, yet also a force of creativity.

Effects:

  • Feasibility is ignored for determining the legality of combos.
  • Dark- and Ghost- type moves have 2 additional BAP.
  • Flavor actions have a higher chance of suceeding.
  • Fairy- and Normal- type moves have 1 less BAP.
  • Spread moves have a maximum of two targets and apply spread move penalty after calcing all modifiers.
  • All immunities are removed.
===
  • Nature Power calls Phantom Force.
  • Secret Power has a 30% chance to decrease SpD by 1 stage.
  • Camouflage makes the user Dark/Ghost.

Arena: Rainy Meadow
Field Type: Poison, Grass, Water
Complexity: Intense
Format: Singles

Description: A rainy meadow. Some say it has magical infusions, but the scientists working there have determined otherwise- although they did say it could undermine their research and set back the market if someone could sucessfully cause a miracle there..

Effects:

  • Permanent Grassy Terrain, but effects apply whether the Pokemon is grounded or not. If another terrain is used, it will override these effects for the duration, but the Grassy Terrain will return afterwards.
  • All Pokemon are treated as male.
  • Default weather is rain with ±1 BAP. Weather cannot be changed without a weather stone or a weather ability and reverts to weak rain when the weather ends. Additionally, this rain has no effect on the BAP of the move Solar Beam.
===
  • Nature Power calls Energy Ball(because Grassy Terrain).
  • Secret Power has a 30% chance to cause Sleep(because Grassy Terrain).
  • Camouflage makes the user Water/Grass-type.

Arena: City of the Champions
Field Type: N/A
Complexity: Intense
Format: Any

Description: Long ago, people created machines to make this city into a prime spot for interesting Pokemon battles. The people long gone, the machines slowly went haywire. Now, being explored by the Battle Foundation, it is again seen as a prime spot for interesting battles- but not for the interesting effects, and rather

Effects:

  • Mega Stones are usable by any Pokemon. Stat gains are calculated using the base stats of the Pokemon and the normal stat change of the Mega Stone. (base stats not ranks.)
  • Upon switchin, a Pokemon can use a status move in its movepool of its choice. This is not decided before its first sendout, however, if it is withdrawn, any future sendouts must use the same move.
  • Upon first sendout, a Pokemon can add any move it does not now to its movepool.
  • All Pokemon have the ability Intimidate, except that it lowers the stat corresponding to the stat lowered by their nature.
  • Whenever a Pokemon KOs another Pokemon, it replaces its abilities with the abilities of the opponent's Pokemon and learns the last used move from the KOd Pokemon.
  • Whenever a Pokemon uses Water Pledge, Fire Pledge, or Grass Pledge, it may choose one of the additional effects usually reserved for combos with the other Pledges and add it to the move.
  • Stealth Rock's type effectiveness is based on the primary type of the user.
  • You may choose to use any status move affecting the enemy as a hazard instead, causing it to take effect upon any switch-in and be removed by Rapid Spin and Defog.
  • Abilities take effect twice.
  • All abilities are shifted to the next one in alphabetical order.
  • You may choose to equip an item that upon send-out starts a weather effect, a terrain effect, or a 'Room' move. This replaces the normal item slot and lasts for 4 rounds.
  • Mons that are reduced to .5 or lower HP are not KOd until the end of the action, allowing them to act if they have not already. However, if they heal after being reduced to KO range, they will still faint.
  • Upon first sendout, you may give a mon an additional type.
  • All mons gain an additional ability that gives moves of their secondary type +1 priority.
  • All mons gain an additional ability that turns Normal-type moves into their primary or secondary type(chosen upon first sendout) and gives them an additional 2 BAP.
  • Upon first sendout, a mon can choose to switch its physical and special stats.
  • All moves always hit. OHKO moves are banned.
  • Type resistant berries give immunity to the relevant type.
  • Battlers may use items that they do not know. Hidden Abilities are always treated as being unlocked.
===
  • Codifications as ASB Arena.
