It's too late too put a set in now. If a Scarf set is something good, then post it in a seperate thread. You've probably seen such threads around the forum, but NU examples are the LO Attacker Murkrow set by Omicron and the Offensive Tank Regirock set by me. Look at those to see what I mean if you don't know (links in the index).

[Overview]

Long ago, in the ancient time known as ADV, Armaldo was able to walk with the big leagues in OU. Over time, however, the prehistoric Scyther was taken over by its current formshots in OU. Over time, however, the prehistoric Scyther (comment: I'm not sure about this; it's extremely confusing. this prehistoric bug, maybe?) was taken over by its current form (it really sort of implies that Scyther is an evolution of or somehow related to Armaldo - strongly advising you to take it out) and its evolution, and the fossil was banished to NU. While the Pokemon itself has not changed much since DPPt, the metagame around it has, and the monArmaldo gained a reason to see the light of day again. With a mighty 125 base 125 Atk, great STABs in Rock- and Bug-type attacks, as well as access to moves likethe useful Rapid Spin, it can perform as a great tank or sweeper. However, it's not all bright for Armaldo, as its Stealth Rock weakness and pitiful base 45 Speed will always hold it down.

With a simple spread like the one above, Armaldo reaches a massive 383 Atk. It certainly is no glass cannon either, with 354 HP and 236 Defense. Sadly, it's not an all-around tank with a somewhat lackluster Sp. Def stat of only 197, as it is let down by its somewhat lackluster Special Defense. Armaldo is one of the few Pokemon in NU with access to the move Rapid Spin, and it can actually utilize itthe move well. Stone Edge and X-Scissor are very reliable STAB moves, being able towhich can hit the majority of the metagame for at least neutral damage. Earthquake makes theits coverage even more spectacular, by completing the EdgeQuake comboination. If you do not have another Pokemon on your team that can set up Stealth Rock, the coverage provided by Earthquake, as well as X-Scissor to a lesser extent, can be dropped to supply your team with valuable entry hazards.

(explain the EV spread and choice of item, etc)

A great asset to this Armaldo set is that it can be placed in just about any team, as Rapid Spin is amazing with every style, and the offensive presence Armaldo brings means momentum won't be lost for long. Like any Armaldo, it enjoys being in Trick Room with a measly Speed of 126, making Duosion and the like excellent partners. Armaldo can use Swords Dance to boost its aAttack, but youecoming even more offensive,(optional) but it will rarely have time to both set- up and spin without losing some momentumRapid Spin. Alternate EV spreads are also viable. By placing 44 Attack EV'(remove)s in Speed, youArmaldo gains the ability to outspeed uninvested base 50's like Speed foes, such as Lickilicky and Regirock. If you choose to place 124 Attack EV's into Speed, you gain the ability to outspeed uninvested base 60'd, likecan outpace uninvested base 60s, specifically Tangela.

While Armaldo's main job is to remove hazards on your side of the field, putting hazards on your opponent's, with teammates likesuch as Cacturne and Camerupt, so can be beneficial as well—when Armaldo goes on the offensive, it getswill be harder to check Armaldo. A great plus point for this Armaldo set is its ability to fit on just about any team, as Rapid Spin benefits just about every playstyle, and the offensive presence Armaldo brings means momentum won't be lost for long. As with any Armaldo, this variant enjoys Trick Room support, due to its measly Speed of 126, making Duosion and the like excellent partners.

Unlike the first set, this set is madedesigned to have more staying power and support options than attacking power (or "forgoes attacking power for bulk and support options"). As one of the few NU Pokemon whto have access to the move, Rapid Spin in NU, it is without a doubt the crux of the set. Stealth Rock is also, as always, a great support move, and allows Armaldo to support the team even when heit is not on the field. Knock Off is a veryn interesting option Armaldo has, but it allows it to take away important things like, which allows Armaldo to take away important items, such as Choice items or Eviolites. With this set, Rock Slide should always be considered over Stone Edgepreferred to Stone Edge on this set due to theits superior accuracy of the former. Of course, X-Scissor can be used as well, but it is really all up to personal preference. (are there important differences in terms of type coverage though? for example, would you consider it more important to hit flyers / fire-types, or psychic-types?) This set also capitalizes on Armaldo's ability, Battle Armor, meaningwhich ensures that Armaldo's staying power canwill not be cut short by a Ccritical Hhit.

(start by talking about the ev spread / item choice. teammates go in the second paragraph.)

Much like the first set, this Armaldo can be put on a wide spectrum of teams, but is normally a bad idea to put on a Hyper Offense team, as it sacrifices a lot more momentum. Another interesting option
In terms of its moves, Armaldo can also utilize is Rock Blast, which can to break Substitutes and deal damage, making it hard for anything to set up on Armaldo. Of course, if you do decide to run X-Scissor over Rock Slide, you have to be cautious of spinblockers likesuch as Misdreavus (and, to a lesser extent, Haunter), who can easily come in and ruin Armaldo's fun. s own, Wish support from the likes of Lickilicky are alwayis much appreciated. Once again, teammates likesuch as Alomomola help to take hits that would hit Armaldo hard like Scald. Of course, wsuper effective hits, such as Scald, that would hit Armaldo hard. With Knock Off stealing defensive items, offensive juggernauts like Sawk, Swellow, and Gorebyss love it when they go against walls without theirmake great partners; these offensive juggernauts would love to go against walls lacking (original wording leaves it a little vague about who's leftovers you're referring to) Leftovers. Choice Scarf Sawk in particular loves the loss of an opponent's Leftovers the most, as it has the least power of the three (given Swellow has a Guts boost and Gorebyss has a Shell Smash, of course), and it turns many 3HKO's into safe 2HKO's.

While the other sets listed before are made to break walls and support the team, this Armaldo goes straight tofocus more on team support, this Armaldo has but one intention: (optional change) sweeping your opponent. If you choose to only utilize one of the boosting moves, replace itthe other with X-Scissor to gain the most coverage. Of course, Stone Edge and Earthquake already hasve great coverage, and together, and Armaldo does not really need X-Scissor to be effective.
(perhaps an explanation as to why you want both boosting moves?)

[Additional Comments]DDITIONAL COMMENTS]
<space>

Unlike the other sets, this Armaldo fits better on offensive teams, but can be used on balance and semi-stall as well. As a side note, iIf you decide to opt out of using Rock Polish, running a Jolly nature over an Adamant one is usually athe better option, to gain as much Speed as possible. However, Rock Polish does give you a tremendous amount of Speed, as w. With an Adamant nature and 244 EV's in Speed EVs, Armaldo can outspeed, Armaldo can outspeed Adamant Swellow, one of the fastest Pokemon in the tier, and destroy it with Stone Edgedamant Swellow, one of the fastest Pokemon in the tier, and destroy it with Stone Edge. A Life Orb is the most obvious choice for the power boost, (etc etc continue this yourself haha. does armaldo need the power boost / is the added bulk useful, stuff like that?)

Unlike the other variants, this Armaldo fits better on offensive teams, but can be used on balance and semi-stall as well
. As with any offensive Pokemon, it adores hazards, so having a hazard-setter is always a good idea. One that really stickands out is Camerupt, who is not only able to lay down Stealth Rocks, but can absorb random Will-oO-Wisps aimed at Armaldo when heit's not quite at sweeping potential. Gorebyss is probably the best ripping partner to Double Dance Armaldo, as it also can set up and proceed to sweep the remains of the opponent's team. SDual screen support from the likes of Mesprit and Gardevoir is also much appreciated, as when bolstered by screens, Armaldo's natural bulk bolstered by Screens makes it very easy to takefind at least one turn for set-up, allowing the sweep to come more easierly.

[Set Comments]ET COMMENTS]

By simply equipping a Choice Band, Armaldo forgoes the needed turns of set-up the Double Dance set needs while sacrificing, and gains the a bit of power, while hitting much harder than the Offensive Spinner or Support setlity to hit much harder than the support variants. Of course, Stone Edge and X-Scissor are excellent STAB moves, but Stone Edge will normally be the attack youit will be spamming the most. Earthquake, as always, gives amazing coverage alongside Stone Edge. Superpower will actually deals around the same amount of damage as STAB X-Scissor will dealhen at neutral effectiveness, but adds great coverage, and is a good hit-and-run move, while having somewhat redundant coverage with Earthquake (contradicting yourself).

[Additional Comments]DDITIONAL COMMENTS]
<space>

Aqua Tail is an interesting option for CBhoice Band Armaldo, but it unfortunately does not offer much added coverage. Like any offensive Pokemon, this set is best paired with a user of Spikes, likesuch as Cacturne or Garbador, to turn key 2HKO's into OHKO's. As always, hazard-setters are the best partner an offensive poke could ask for. Another partner that could worknother partner worth considering (optional) is Gorebyss, who can take out many key Pokemon that Armaldo just can not, such as..., clearing the field for Armaldo to easily clean up. Cryogonal makes a very good partner to CB Armaldo, as it can Rapid Spin while Armaldo breaks walls. Pairing CBPairing Choice Band Armaldo with Swellow can overwhelm an opponent in a different way than Gorebyss, by: the two destroying any non-physical wall, and the two work together to finally take down the physical walls of your opponentwork together to finally take down the physical walls of your opponent or "they weaken each other's counters, allowing one to break through and sweep the opponent's team.". Finally, Cryogonal makes a very good partner to Choice Band Armaldo, as it can Rapid Spin while Armaldo breaks walls.

[Other Options]
<space>

Armaldo has a few options up hiits sleeve, but theyse are wildly inferior to the moves he is using in these sets. Armaldo has access to Cross Poison, but the coverage is redundant with X-Scissor, and is essentially just wastinglisted moves. First, Armaldo has access to Cross Poison, but as it offers no added coverage over X-Scissor, it is a waste of a moveslot. Brick Break is another option, but if the opponent is not utilizing Dual Screens, it will usually turn out to be a useless move. Armaldo has access to Curse, but using Swords Dance or Rock Polish is usually a better option for Armaldo to use. Armaldo has Swift Swim for a Dream World ability, giving it a free Rock Polish, but Rain is better suited for Pokemonare better boosting moves. Armaldo's Dream World ability, Swift Swim, gives it a free Rock Polish in rain, but the likes of Gorebyss to abuseare better abusers of rain. In fact, to make thingmatters worse for, Swift Swim, Armaldo does not haveget access to Aqua Tail, its only useful Water-type move, when using Swift Swim.

[Checks and Counters]
<space>

As Armaldo is a very hard-hitting Pokemon, it becomeis difficult for many things to wall it, but it is not impossible, as threats liketo wall—but not impossible. Threats such as Misdreavus, Weezing, and Curse Miltank can just sit there and sponge most attacks, especially with the first two burning you Armaldo can deal out, and the first two especially can butn Armaldo with Will-oO-Wisp. Amoonguss also falls into this category, with its accescan also check Armaldo thanks to Spore. Armaldo's low Speed also means it will be checked by many fast offensive pPokes, likemon, such as Sawk and Swellow, once Armaldoit has been worn down a bit. There are some threats, namelyin particular Gorebyss, that will always OHKO Armaldo, even before itGorebyss sets up a Shell Smash.
