ASB Council #10 - Applications

PSA: Term is ~4 months. Maybe.
The current dead council will last until this one is elected.

The purpose of this thread will be to identify applicants for the ASB Council prior to a forum vote. By this point you all know what the council does and what you need to by on it, but the following are criteria you should fulfill before applying.

• Activity: Applicants must be consistently active in ASB. Applicants must utilise irc for the purpose of communication with fellow councilmen. Applicants must not be users prone to leaving on frequent, unannounced breaks.
• Longevity: Applicants must have been involved with ASB for a lengthy duration of time. This duration of time is arbitrary, but important. In essence, we want council member to have an understanding of the history of ASB. If you joined ASB only recently, do not expect to be chosen.
• Knowledge: This is a critical criterion. Applicants must be knowledgeable about the mechanics of ASB, and about balance and so forth. This can be demonstrated in various ways, including battling prowess. One must have a concept of balance in ASB, and must be rational and level-headed in such matters.

When applying, please post a little bit about why you are a worthy applicant and why you would do well on the council.

The process will be the same as last time: We will vote for the first 3 people on the council in the first vote, the 4th and 5th members in a second vote, and (only if there are more than 10 applications) the 6th and 7th voters in the final vote, thereby accounting for changes in vote strategy based on prior members.

With that said, apply away! Applications will last 72h, at which point the first series of votes will occur.

I think I'll apply again. This time without voting for myself every step of the way. I can learn!

But yeah there is a serious lack of people willing to be council members. And I think I can do a good enough job.

EDIT: Ok there's no longer a drought of people, but I still think I'm qualified for the position. I'm didn't just choose to run because I thought nobody else would.

Activity: I go on almost every day. I barely ever get a DQ warning (seriously, you can check).
Longevity: Two years as of the end of January!
Knowledge: This time I have impressive things to say! Mostly relating to DYAE. But I have more knowledge than in July, so if it wasn't a barrier then, it shouldn't be now.

Activity: Other than one or two long hiatuses I'm on pretty much every day now and ref/battle a lot.
Longevity: Haven't been on here that long but I have a grip on how to play, how to ref, and what my opinions towards different proposed things are.
Knowledge: I know, other than general forgetting things(which can be checked in the Handbook), most ASB mechanics and generally understand the importance of balance and also the importance of not letting the latter overtake the scene's roots as a fun/flavorful thing. Also I try to contribute to policy shit when I can.

Throwing my hat in but only metaphorically (I hear there's some (BAN ME PLEASE) going around stealing hats)

Activity: My weakness here, though my only long, unannounced break was the one this summer (due to a combination of health issues and burnout). Yes I'm the legendary Geojohn, but I am trying to be better about this. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
Longevity: Been around for longer than two-thirds of the 9th council (specifically Rainman, TSRD, Mowtom, and Gold). Come December, I will have been in ASB 3 years.
Knowledge: I'm the Fire GL and have two other gym badges. I know how to play this game.

I most likely won't talk much unless the issue interests me but I know what I'm talking about. At the very least you'll never see me inactive.

So yeah, let's provide some stability here.

• Activity: I'd say I'm pretty active around here. Yes I'm absolutely horrible at reffing matches but I do show up regularly around here.
• Longevity: Been here for ages, that's all I need to say.
• Knowledge:I'd consider myself quite knowledgeable about the mechanics of ASB. I know how move interactions work and such.

Vote for me if you want to nerf Sableye and Greninja!

Activity: I work 3 job and still manage to get on here every day. I'm reffing 6 ABs and I think the closest I ever got to my DQ was 2 days before DQ Warning.
Longevity: I was on page 10 or so of the First Register Tower. I'm an old coot. (I was gone from ASB for like almost two years but I've been around for a little longer than that, collectively)
Knowledge: I've had to ask a lot of questions to get back my loss of ASB knowledge from my hiatus, but I never have to ask the same question twice.

Despite what some might assume, I like to think of myself as pretty level headed when I am serious about things. I'm open to suggestions and all possible options, and I definitely wait to hear all the information and sides before I speak my mind or state my opinion.

Activity: Proven long term activity and stability, on nearly every day, etc.
Longevity: Here since pretty much the start.
Knowledge: I mod, I have been on the council several times, I have a competent grasp on the game and its mechanics, I have #capasb QOp's, won a tournament, hold a gym, and boundless other things.

I am worthy of selection because of my boundless experience, knowledge, and achievements in the game, as well as being on the council several times in the past, so I am expected to know what I am going on about.
