Time for a new thread. Same rules as before.

Rules / Guidelines for asking & answering questions here:

1. Your answers should contain at least a brief explanation, even if it was the simplest of questions.
2. While answering Yes/No question, please quote the question you're referring to. It gets confusing otherwise.
3. At least do a simple google search before asking the question here.
4. We have a lot of excellent resources on our site. Be sure to check our articles, and not just for DP, before asking here. Our item and move descriptions are also a handy resource. You may be able to answer your own question with those resources faster than it would take for someone to respond to your question in this thread.
5. On a related note of #4. If you answer an extremely simple question such as "What does the Yache Berry do?", instead of just answering the question direct them to the appropriate link (in this case http://www.smogon.com/dp/items/yache_berry) so they will know where to find that type of information in the future without coming to this thread. Likewise, if a member asks for a damage calculation link them to a damage calculator.
6. This isn't the thread for "Look At This Pokemon" or "Should I keep it with these IVs" etc., use this thread (forgive me if I forget to update this link if a new thread is created, I'll try to keep up with it).
7. This is already in the Smogon and Stark forum rules, but I will reiterate again do not discuss ROMs or other illegal things. Also, don't ask for AR codes here. Use google for that.

In addition, here is a handy list of some information to avoid certain questions being asked over and over again. I re-read the ENTIRE previous SQ/SA thread so please read my list before asking a question since it took me a lot of time to compile to figure out what questions were being asked frequently. I'll be very sad if you ignore them =(.

Also, if there are any commonly asked questions (use your judgement here guys) that I missed; just send me a PM and I'll add it in after doing a search through the old thread. Thanks.

• Migrated Pokemon from previous generations can change their abilities upon evolution when traded to DP.
• No, we don't know what your SID is. Ask in WiFi forums "Simple Questions / Simple Requests" or something. Or better yet, do it yourself.
• The Rotom-formes are not currently usable over wifi, only local wireless (link battles). Same goes for Giratina-O & Shaymin-S.
• On the note of hypnosis accuracy. If Platinum is the host, the accuracy is 60%. If DP is the host, it's 70%

• The RNG stands for Random Number Generator (although it's not actually "random"). The RNG determines almost every one of the "random" events that take place in game and can be used in breading termed "RNG-abuse". For help RNG-abuse refer to his help thread. I'd imagine you can.
Although, I would think some luck is required in locating your own Pokémon on the GTS.

Are you using Platinum? IIRC, for some reason Platinum doesn't show some required information (like the specific level that the trader is looking for).

I've used the GTS to trade between Diamond and Pearl before, but it is kinda difficult with all the other offers to go through. You have to be putting up something rare to be able to find it on the other game...

And if you need to evolve something, there's that "deposit, trade something else, withdraw" trick.

If I know my secret id and I know a pokemons iv's how do I calculate the pid..I can use an ar to figure it out but I got a really good shiny poke In a trade with good iv's and I want to know if it is legit...if somone used an ar to hack the iv and shinieness would the pid change when it was caught Or would it be different.

Thats reserved for pokemon who are suspect. I don't know if its always used though. It sorta means that the pokemon is between tiers.

Shuckle's starting Attack and Defense stats would be swapped, and the +6 would still be on its Defense stat. In other words, it's Attack wouldn't be affected by the Acid Armor boosts at all, and would be the same either way (as the boosts aren't carried over in any sense).

If you are grinding for BP, then I personally would say either the Battle Factory or the Battle Arcade. For both, I highly recommend getting to a streak of 21 battles, then purposely losing right after that so in the Battle Factory, you get BP of 5, 5, 20, 5, 5, 20..., which can give you about 90BP in an hour (from personal experience). The Battle Arcade doesn't give as much BP, but it's much easier to progress through the rounds. Hope this helped.
