Azumarill (UU Revamp)

[Overview]

While outclassed in OU, Azumarill is a great pokemon in the UU metagame and can perform many different roles. Compared to other pokemon in UU Azumarill has sub-par stats and no recovery which makes support sets less consistent. However, Its creative move pool and amazing ability keeps it a threat in the Underused tier.

Moves

========

With a lack of physical stab to abuse Azumarill’s massive attack stat you are left with few good options for physical moves. Return is going to be your best move for smacking anything that isn’t ghost or steel, while Fire punch is there to hit things that would switch into return such as Steelix. Hidden power Ghost hits many important things in the Underused tier like, Bannette, Misdreavus, and Solrock as well as Gengar, and Celebi if you are using Azumarill in OU. Lastly, Iron tail is here for additional coverage to hit rock types, as they can switch into Return, Fire punch, and Hidden power ghost.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Focus Punch is a very unreliable move that takes prediction and the right situation to work, however, landing a focus punch deals major damage to most pokemon in the underused tier, but the pokemon that switch into azumarill can usually resist and/or shrug off the powerful blow. Hidden power rock is also an option to hit flying types, ice types, and fire types all in one move although it doesn’t really give Azumarill any additional coverage, Surf and Hydro pump can be used to hit Azumarill's most common counters, Gligar, and Solrock, although these attacks rely on Azumarill’s less than stellar special attack.

Moves

========

Although not as good in UU as in OU due to the offensive nature of UU, this set accomplishes a couple things, if you can manage to get a substitute up Azumarill can be a nightmare, between sing and focus punch Azumarill can truck through many slower mons that it can hit neutrally. Although It does get outsped by most of the tier and has a fair share of counters.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

Encore can give Azumarill many opportunities to set up a substitute or get a free switch into something else. Ice Beam/Surf can surprise pokemon that like to switch into Focus Punch such as Gligar and other bulky ground types.

[TEAM MATES]

Quagsire is a great teammate for Azumarill, countering Gligar, Solrock, and Ampharos which all give Azumarill major trouble. Although they do share a common grass weakness. Meganium can also support azumarill and wall many of its counters.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]
-As mentioned both Gligar and Solrock like to sponge Azumarill’s resisted hits and set up swords dance or reflects.
-Super Effective hits, like most Pokemon Azumarill is easily KO'd by powerful super effective hits before it can do any major damage and Azumarill’s terrible speed gives you many opportunities to hit it hard

Besides the fact that I've literally never seen Azumarill used in UU, there's a lot wrong here that make it obvious you have little to no experience actually using it yourself:

- Fire Punch is not a physical move in ADV
- Azumarill doesn't even learn Fire Punch
- Steelix is not UU, it's BL

On top of that, mixing UU and OU details is not standard C&C procedure.

And finally, this analysis is extremely lacking all around. Locking.
