[OVERVIEW]
In Balanced Hackmons, Mega Mewtwo Y is an extremely good Pokemon and can be used in a lot of ways. With stats raising off the charts, it has the higher SpA than any other Pokemon. Mega Mewtwo Y is also greatly known for its high speed. With Mega Mewtwo Y being faster than most other wallbreakers, it can KO other wallbreakers easily.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
=======
  • Steam Eruption is a move that does a lot of damage and has a fairly good chance of burning the opponent. This move is first on the list because it does more damage than any other move on the list. STAB from Protean makes Steam Eruption more capable of OHKOing or 2HKOing just about any Pokemon that doesn't resist water.
  • Dark Pulse and Night Daze are moves to counter threats like Giratina, Slowbro-Mega, and other Mega Mewtwo Y. These moves also go against Imposter foes in a Speed tie victory. Dark Pulse would be for users who feel like accuracy is more important and Night Daze would be for users who feel like power is more important. Dark Pulse also has a 20% chance of flinching as Night Daze has a 40% change of lowering the opponent's accuracy by 1.
  • Earth Power is for other common threats like Registeel and Primal Groudon. It's also not very expected to a lot of opponents so it's an automatic OHKO if they don't know that you have Earth Power.
  • Last but not least, we have Volt Switch, a strong offensive Electric-type move that forces the user to switch into another Pokemon in the team. This move is basically just a hit & run move and it works very well on Mega Mewtwo Y because of its high Special Attack with Protean and Choice Specs. There's also King's Shield which you do not use with Choice Specs. The purpose of King's Shield is to see your opponent's moves and make their attacks cut in half. This supports Mega Mewtwo Y's chance of becoming more defensive in the match.
Set Details
=========
  • In this set, Special Attack and Speed are maxed out in their EVs. Special Attack is maxed out so that the moves Mega Mewtwo Y has can do the most damage possible.
  • Speed is maxed so that Mega Mewtwo Y can use its moves first to have a higher change of KOing your opponent before your opponent KOs it.
  • The items that Mega Mewtwo Y uses each serve a good purpose. Choice Specs is usually better most of the time because it makes moves do 1.5x more damage and that with Protean will end up making moves do 2.25x more damage than usual. Here is an example of how much a Steam Eruption from a Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y does to a max HP and Special Defense Arceus (252 SpA Choice Specs Protean Mega Mewtwo Y Steam Eruption vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Arceus: 232-274 (52.2 - 61.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO). With Life Orb, it does about 8% less damage. The advantage of Life Orb in comparison to Choice Specs is the availability to choose different moves rather than just using one.
  • Dark Pulse and Night Daze do significant damage to Giratina which is the Great Wall of Balanced Hackmons. They also help try to get rid of those other Mega Mewtwo Y especially if they aren't Protean.
  • Earth Power is really used to KO those really defensive common steel types like Registeel and Aegislash. This move even helps against the mighty Primal Groudon that sometimes carry Water Absorb because it's super effective.
  • Volt Switch is one of the best hit and run moves. It does decent damage. This move is also good against Pokemon that are super effective against Electric-type. This hit and run move can also ruin the chance of your opponent setting up by doing a lot of damage and can also make your opponent use an extra turn just to recover.
  • King's Shield is best against -ates. It makes Mega Mewtwo Y more able to protect itself against physical threats from -ates by cutting their attack in half. This doesn't happen to only -ates, but to any Pokemon that makes a contact move while Mega Mewtwo Y is using King's Shield.
Usage Tips
=========
  • When using Mega Mewtwo Y, be aware that Mega Mewtwo Y has a pretty low Defense base stat reaching 70.
  • Because Mega Mewtwo Y has a base stat of 70 Defense, this makes it hard for Mega Mewtwo Y to protect itself against hard against Pixilate, Aerilate, and Refrigerate Pokemon like Mega Rayquaza, Mega Diancie, and Black Kyurem. This is why King's Shield is an option to use while running this set.
  • If you're a Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y user, be aware also that Steam Eruption has a limited PP of 8 and has 95% accuracy. If you know that your opponent's Pokemon can be OHKOed another way, use a different move.
  • Mega Mewtwo Y can sweep through teams but it can't do much to Blissey or Chansey because of their Special Defense so it's best to switch out your Mega Mewtwo Y when you see one. It's probably not good using Volt Switch on them to switch because some Blissey and Chansey tend to carry Metal Burst or even Mirror Coat.
  • Mega Mewtwo Y can be often used as a lead or a final sweeper. Using it as a lead can make you finish off your opponent faster, or be able to Volt Switch into your next Pokemon when you have the chance. Volt Switch could also help against Illusion Pokemon if you have an Aerilate, Pixilate, or Refrigerate in your team as well because it reveals that they have Illusion and most tend to use Belly Drum first thing. Mega Mewtwo Y having high speed and high Special Attack can actually stop opponents from using Belly Drum at times after using Volt Switch.
  • Using Mega Mewtwo Y as a late final sweeper are for people who are more cautious and know more about the opponent's team. That can help if you have other offensive Pokemon to take care of the rest of their team. A lot of teams tend to use Imposter Chansey as a lead and more about that will be told in the Team Options section below.
Team Options
===========
  • Chansey and Blissey are the best Pokemon to side with Mega Mewtwo Y because of their great bulk surviving Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks if Mega Mewtwo Y gets an Imposter to clone it. They are the best walls against Mega Mewtwo Y anyways proving to (252 SpA Protean Mega Mewtwo Y Steam Eruption vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 156-184 (22.1 - 26.1%) -- 7.7% chance to 4HKO and 252 SpA Protean Mega Mewtwo Y Steam Eruption vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Blissey: 189-223 (26.4 - 31.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO).
  • Other good teammates are Primal Kyogre because its high Special Defense and High Special Attack makes it capable of stalling and sweeping opponents that Mega Mewtwo Y sometimes can't, Giratina because it can tank physical moves that Mega Mewtwo Y can't tank, Primal Groudon or Mega Mewtwo X to fill in the physical offense of the team to counter Pokemon that Mega Mewtwo Y can't beat like Chansey, and Pokemon that are -ates like Mega Rayquaza, Mega Diancie, and Black Kyurem are also good in supporting Mega Mewtwo Y in the team because they are able to cover up for Mega Mewtwo Y at certain times.
Other Options
===========
  • There are a lot of special moves that you can choose from when using Mega Mewtwo Y like Boomburst, Searing Shot, Light of Ruin, etc.
  • You can also use moves like Shell Smash or Tail Glow to raise your Special Attack before attacking if you're not using Choice Specs. Spiky Shield can also be a good move to use especially since there are a lot of Shedinja with Endeavor in Balanced Hackmons. It's also an alternative scout move for checking out your opponent's next move. Secret Sword and Psystrike are also very great moves as they breaks through Chansey and Blissey's Special Defense by attacking through their Defense instead.
Checks and Counters
================
  • **Opposing -ates**: Since Mega Mewtwo Y has a base Defense stat of 70, it can't really tank attacks from common -ate Pokemon. When facing these Pokemon, it's best to use King's Shield. If you can't use King's Shield for any reason, it's best to switch out your Mega Mewtwo Y in battle.
  • **Other Physically Offensive Pokemon**: Since Mega Mewtwo Y has low Defense, it might have a problem dealing with physically offensive Pokemon if they survive Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks in any way or if they are faster than Mega Mewtwo Y. The best thing to do here is to switch, use King's Shield, or use any other move that lowers your opponent's Attack by a decent amount.
  • **Status**: Mega Mewtwo Y can be torn be having a status especially if it's paralysis. Paralysis lowers Mega Mewtwo Y's speed and sometimes makes it unable to move which can be very deadly for Mega Mewtwo Y. Sleep and freeze status can also tear down Mega Mewtwo Y due to it being unable to move.
  • **Blissey and Chansey**: Blissey and Chansey takes Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks like if it was nothing. They can take easy advantage of these attacks to counter Mega Mewtwo Y usually by having Metal Burst, Mirror Coat, or even Imposter. The best thing to do against these Pokemon are to either switch, or use Psystrike or Secret Sword if you have those moves.
  • **Other Specially Defensive Pokemon**: The other Specially Defensive Pokemon can tank Mega Mewtwo Y's attacks and take advantage of that ability by setting up, escaping, or attacking back. The best options to do here are either to switch, use Special Attack moves that hit through the Defense points instead, or sometimes in worst case scenario, you go all out offense on your opponent's Pokemon.
  • **Pokemon faster than Mega Mewtwo Y**: Pokemon faster than Mega Mewtwo Y could take advantage and make your Mega Mewtwo Y unable to do what you want it to do by tormenting or encoring. The best thing do do here is just to switch out your Mega Mewtwo Y to a Pokemon that can KO Pokemon faster than Mega Mewtwo Y. This includes Prankster Pokemon.

Just to make it easier on the GP checkers, change "Mewtwo-Mega-Y" to "Mega Mewtwo Y," and any instances where it's like "x-Mega" or "x-Primal" to "Mega x" and "Primal x," respectively.

I've been thinking about this and I'm going to have to reject it, sorry. I talked it over with another QC member and we don't think this is the best set that MMY can run. I think it would be easier to rewrite it from scratch.

Sorry about that
