So we all wake up somehow on a giant record floating through a sea of magma? As tempted as the ref is to disqualify NyxNocturne for bringing everyone to such a dangerous location, he decides that they might as well go ahead now they are here, and gives the signal. It will be a 3v3 Singles fight to the death, and it begins with NyxNocturne releasing a Pokemon, and he can decide switching rules while he is at it. Off you go!

EDIT: I am actually tempted to just give you the win because of how awesome that demostration of how mighty your Rhydon is.

I'll start off by using Unicron the Rhydon!
Also,so we're all clear on how mighty this particular Rhydon is:
    UNICRON!TRANSFORM!!
(And we agreed that we actually want a ref to hang around and will therefore go with Switch=KO)

....heh. Who to lead with. I guess the question is really, how arrogant am I willing to be?
    ...pretty arrogant, I suppose!

Go, my flaming champion! Aether, you're up!

And, um.... I don't have a video demonstrating the awesomeness of my Pokemon's namesake, but.... Uh....
    CHARMANDER!!!

Also, let's not forget our fittingly-intense background music.
(and yes, that is correct. Switch = KO.)

((.....oh, frick. I'm supposed to move too, aren't I?))

This is a tough matchup for us... Nyx practically has the type advantage throughout the match, so this is gonna take some careful thought and tact... "Right.... this is what we're gonna do. Open with Will-O-Wisp, Aether! Don't forget, you've been trained to use that with either mouth or tail if need be! Next we're gonna let loose a Smokescreen to obscure his vision while you move to the other side of the stage.... stay away from that edge though, give yourself some space from it. Finally, blast him with the full force of your Hidden Power! If at any point you quail under the glare of his Scary Face, you show him yours is even scarier! But make sure you still get that Wisp and Smokescreen off-- I know, I know! You want to hit him already! Just bear with me here and you'll beat the snot out of him soon, alright? Jeez. Finally-- and this is important-- if he Earthquakes, there's not much we can do except for you to dig in your claws and hold on so you aren't thrown off... Alright, now go for it!"

    Will-O-Wisp > Smokescreen > Hidden Power
(if Scary Face is used by Rhydon, sub any move with Scary Face in Charmeleon's current turn; if replaced by Will-O-Wisp or Smokescreen, make sure those still get used this round.)

Alright, Unicron, let's wreck some shit!
Let's lower his expectations with a Tail Whip!
Then slam his ass with a powerful Dragon Rush, trying to push him from the stage!
Finally, hit him with a mighty Hammer Arm!
We've got the advantage, and we're going to use it! Time to watch your pokemon get dismembered, Banryu!
Tail Whip>Dragon Rush(attempting to push him from stage)>SLam him with a Hammer Arm

    Charmeleon (*) Aether (m)
    Nature: Rash
Personality: Evolution created a drastic upshift in his personality, changing him from a rash and impetuous youngster a to headstrong and aggressive adolescent. Very proud of his newfound power, he now has battle constantly on the brain, always looking to pick a fight, and constantly training in the meantime. His battle style reflects his attitude: extremely aggressive, and he is reasonably skilled at ranged and close combat alike.

Very reckless and impetuous, eager to charge into battle and quick to attack with nothing held back. His mental defenses are a little weak as a result, but his passion for the thrill of battle and enthusiasm to earn his trainer's approval are unmatched. In battle he is aggressive and unrelenting, and has only gotten more so since evolving. He seeks to put opponents on the defensive with his aggressive tactics and varied attack styles and techniques.

And so both trainers release there first Pokemon out onto our giant record, and the record starts spinning, causing this music to suddenly start playing while the trainers' feet (which miraculously stay still as the record rotates) trace the grooves of the record. NyxNocturne starts by releasing out Unicron the Rhydon, and Banryu responds by releasing Aether the Charmeleon. Charmeleon takes the initiative to act first, and jumps out with a small ball of flame. He throws a Will-o-wisp at Unicron, and the small, weirdly coloured flames don't really hurt Rhydon's rocky hide, but he does get badly burned by the flames. However, he shakes off the sting of the burn to turn around and Tail Whip at Aether. This display takes Aether off guard, and Aether temporarily drops his defences when he is caught like this. He soons overcomes this, however, and moves into position for another round.

Rhydon jumps up close to Aether, intent on pushing him over the edge. He uses Dragon Rush at Aether, dashing straight at Aether's centre of mass in a huge effort to push him off the record, but unfortunately just as he draws near, Charmeleon uses his superior speed to let off a huge Smokescreen to in front of Rhydon, completely obscuring his vision! However, with Rhydon's huge momentum he keeps barreling on ahead, and while blind gets lucky and scores a direct hit, throwing Charmeleon a long way. In fact, Charmeleon is thrown so far that he just holds on to the edge of the record by a claw, and has for all intents and purposes been knocked off the ring!

However, Charmeleon slowly draws himself up onto the ring, using massive effort to get back up and taking so long that Rhydon is actually upon him by the time he is finished! Rhydon swings around one of his massive arms and delivers a huge Hammer Arm straight to Charmeleon, knocking him over and dangerously close to the edge he was coming up from, only failing because of a slight mis-hit due to the smokescreen. It doesn't knock him off again, but Charmeleon is battered badly by the attack and only now manages to let off its huge Hidden Power at Rhydon, which hits it incredibly hard and manages to push it back a way towards the centre, gaining some ground for Aether. However, Aether is sill struggling a bit about the repeated poundings, and is looking a bit worn out after the round. It will certainly be interesting to see what happens next!

Alright, well done Unicron! We didn't knock him off but we put the fear of Gog in him for sure!
Start this round off by slamming him with a Rock Blast!
Follow it up with a powerful Earthquake!
Finish the round up by stomping his punk bitch as into the ground!
If hes ever foolish enough to physically attack you, substitute counter for that action!

"Alright... we totally got this. While you're up close, spray a Smokescreen in his face to choke him up and screw with his aim, then leaping-matrix-dodge that Rock Blast, moving toward the center of the record!" What was I thinking, having him sitting on the outside where the rotation speed is greatest.... clearly the center is the best spot to be. "He dares use Dragon moves against US? Screw that! Stay in the center and blast him again with Hidden Power, then dig in your claws and do your best to ride out the earthquake... unless he's breaking the record, you'll only have the vibrations to contend with, which aren't that big a deal... Now let loose the full force of your Dragon Pulse! Since he's on the outside now, aim to blast him right off the stage! Fire with fire, baby!"

And so we find ourselves in the second round: as NyxNocturne says, the fear of Gog is in Aether, but Aether's first round certainly went better than Unicron's. Aether tries to continue this by sending Smokescreen towards Unicron, trying to blind him somewhat by obscuring his vision, and hoping that he will be able to dodge some of the attacks. Rhydon, in responce, stops and gathers some magma which is bouncing up over the sides, and moulds it as it cools into rocks. After a period of intense concentration, Rhydon starts to slowly use Rock Blast at Aether, and manages to get three direct hits on Aether, despite the Smokescreen and Aether's best efforts at dodging. They each knock Aether a way back towards the edge he was trying to escape from, but not quite far enough to knock him off completely. They do hurt a lot, however, and prompt Charmeleon into a monstrous display of power.

Charmeleon steps up, hurt by the pounding of rocks, and lets off all of his Hidden Power around the arena, the bean of energy pushing Rhydon slowly back towards the edge of the ring. It doesn't manage, but the beating of the beam hurts Rhydon, and he stops for a minute, troubled. Eventually, and without looking up, Rhydon starts to concentrate intensly on something, and slowly the hole record begins to vibrate, and then shake uncontrollably as Rhydon reaches a resonant frequency. The trainers and ref are held safely, but Aether has to dig in his claws to stop himself being thrown off by the Earthquake, and is thrown around a lot by the vibrations. It looks like it is hurt terribly by the blows against the record, but at least it manages to hold on and not get forced off uner the force of the assault. They both look tired after that huge attack, but Charmeleon moves on first and leads them into the final action of the round.

Aether once again draws himself up, and lets off a huge Dragon Pulse. The pulses push Rhydon back a fair way, and each one hurts, but they don't quite have enough force to knock the heavyweight off the arena. Rhydon manages to stay on, and slowly moves against the pulses up to Charmeleon, and Stomps on him, hard. Charmelon manages not to get completely squashed by the force of it, but he is hurt by the kick and is pushed off back to near the edge of the ring by the sideways force. Rhydon remains in the centre where Charmelon launched the Dragon Pulse, and this time looks very dominant standing tall in the centre of the ring. Charmeleon looks like it is in trouble, and the repeated beatings are beginning to take their toll. It will be interesting to see whether Banryu can find a way out of this for Aether!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we have one more round on our giant spinning record of death, and it is beginning to look like one of our contestants will soon have to fall after this epic clash. Charmeleon starts off, this time giving up on trying to cripple Rhydon with smokescreens and instead just releasing its Hidden Power all at once towards Rhydon. This is absorbed by Unicron, paining it greatly, but not stopping it from uleashing another huge Earthquake. Again the ground shakes a huge amount, and when Aether does not really dig in his heels this time he is again nearly thrown off the platform by the vibrations. The grabs a hold of one of the ledges on the way down, and just manages to hold on long enough to bear out the earthquake, before slowly pulling himself up onto the record again.

Once up, it moves closer to the centre of the disk for fear of the edge and again lets off all of its Hidden Power at Rhydon, who looks like he is just about to pass out. He brings himself wearily to his feet and gathers rocks from around the record, but finally collapses from exhaustion, unable to battle. This leaves only Charmeleon able to battle, so NyxNocturne will have to send out another Pokemon!

"Sorry, Unicron... *sigh* Poor guy just can't catch a break, can he. =___= Well, we wouldn't show you the dishonor of going easy though, would we!? And now... the Strider, huh... well, if this is how we must go... Let's make sure we go out in a Blaze of glory!" ((subtle hint hint reminder LOL)) "Keeping up the offensive, go for a display of your fearsome Ancientpower, then trap him in a Dragon-style* Fire Spin and, making sure he's good and stuck in there, nail him with a Scorpion-style** Flame Burst! If he tries to cancel out your Fire Spin with Water attacks, just screw the trappy stuff and take him head on with a Dragon-style Flame Burst of your own!!"

Ancientpower > Fire Spin / Flame Burst > Flame Burst

*Dragon-style is nerd code for flame breath, Scorpion-style is code for tail-based flame attacks. The relevant point being Flame Burst can be used without releasing Fire Spin.

So with Unicron out for the count, NyxNocturne places all of his hopes this time into Dave Strider the Masquerain. It flies out from near NyNocturne, and looks menacingly at Aether, who looks worn out after his bout with Rhydon., and is so Intimidated by the stare that he can't quite attack properly. Nevertheless, he jumps up first to attack and draws up his Ancient Power. Somehow the whole record vibrates with the weight of history, which flung towards Dave Strider and knocks it down to the ground, obviously distracting it a bit. However, it summons a huge torrent of water, struggling a bit because of the heat and the distinct lack of water in the sea of magma. The Hydro Pump doesn't do as much as it normally would, but it still is powerful enough to drench Aether and hurt the fire-type Pokemon a lot, and it nearly nearly puts out it's tail-fire. It also nearly pushes Aether off the stage, but the lack of water around means it doesn't quite have enough force to do that either. However, Aether does look like he is on his last legs now, and he probably won't last another attack.

So, in order to go out with one final, huge attack, Aether creates a huge swirling vortex of fire, which stretches way up into the fire, almost blinding the people on the side. He breathes out, adding to it, and finally it envelopes Dave Strider completely. The Fire Spin throws Dave Strider around, and almost burning it to a crisp in the torrent of flames. However, because of Aether's exhaustion he can't quite keep it up for long enough, and eventually Dave Strider manages to struggle upright for long enough to release a Bubblebeam out at Aether, and while not many get out through the flames, just enough do to knock Charmeleon back, ending the attack. It looks like it will be able to struggle through the exhastion for a bit longer, but just as Charmelon tries to summon the energy for another attack, it collapses completely. It has absolutely no energy, and passes out in the centre of the record, after a valliant effort at soldiering on. This leaves only Dave Strider alone in the ring, and we wait for Banryu to send out a new Pokemon (after which NyxNocturne will issue instructions, and finally Banryu will issue instructions).

    Alright, flying battle!
Dave, we need to think this through! He's got rock attacks, and we need to strategize!
    Dave,use Double Team(3 clones+ you(4 overall)!)
Nex,t use Hydro Pump to blast him out of the sky! Lastly, use a powerful Ice Beam to freeze his prehistoric ass! Lastly, use Gust to deflect any projectile attacks he flings your way!
    Double Team(3+yourself)>Hydro Pump>Ice Beam
Sub Gust to deflect any projectiles!

"Heh... we so got this one.

Mister Strider wants to play the Double Team game? We can do that too. First off, whip up 4 clones of your own to keep him busy! Then Defog the stage and reveal the real deal! While he's trying to figure out which of you is you, (make it harder for him to hit any of you or your clones using your superior speed and ground mobility) you and all your clones Hone your Claws in intimidation, yeah?! Strider'll never know what hit him... And I do mean that quite literally."

Double Team (4 clones) > Defog Masquerain clones> Claw Sharpen

((BTW not that it matters as far as I know but Dromaeus is hanging out on the ground unless I say otherwise.))

    Dromaeus the Archen (open)
    Archen [Dromaeus] (f)
    Nature: Naive
Personality: Thoroughly cunning and crafty, Dromaeus is a focused and serious hunter. Due to the fact that she was revived from a fossil, she is inexperienced with the modern world, and often makes mistakes because of it. Nonetheless she is quite intelligent for a prehistoric Pokemon, and learns quickly. She is the fastest of the team, and her tactics are largely hit-and-run-- dive in to attack, then dart away before the opponent can counterattack. Her dazzling speed and combination of evasive and powerful attacking moves make her a severe threat in battle, and she cares for little else except to fight.

    Type: Rock/Flying
Rock: Rock STAB; Take 2 less damage from all special attacks during Sandstorm, Earth Power, Earthquake and Magnitude have Energy Cost reduced by one (1).
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon, Heat Wave, Icy Wind, Ominous Wind, Silver Wind, Twister, Whirlwind have have Energy Cost reduced by one (1).

So Banryu releases his second Pokemon to contend with Dave Strider: Dromaeus the Archen! At first, it looks like an easy matchup for little Dromaeus, but it seems that neither plans to just launch attacks at their opponent: They are both going to take it slowly and try to out-wit them. Dromaeus starts the round off by splitting off into seperate clones: In fact, as many as four perfect copies have been summoned and Dromaeus now has a Double Team to accompany him in the battle. In responce, Dave Strider also splits up into parts, so that by the end of the round he too is accompanied by a Double Team of three other clones. All nine Pokemon then jump up into the air: it looks like we are going to have a giant aerial battle between them all!

However, all of the Archen clones suddenly stop swooping and diving at the Dave Strider clones. They all stop deadly still, and then start to flap their wings in unison. The combined force of all of the flapping Defogs the whole arena, and strips away the clones from around Masquerain, leaving him all alone in the air, outnumbered by the many clones. However, it bravely flies up in amongst all of the Archen and summons up a huge torrent of water (from somewhere). It is all channelled through the air, still 50 feet above the trainer and ref and directed at one of the Archens at random. It flies across, bearing down on the Pokemon, but just as it comes up to it the Pokemon vanishes completely, and the torrent of water just sails past the other clones, meeting the magma below with a hiss. The Hydro Pump completely missed the real one, whichever one that is, and it now looks like it is in trouble, surrounded by all of the foes.

Then, all of the Archens suddenly stop again and begin to Claw Sharpen in unison, boosting their attacks and accuracy, as well as psyching out Masquerain. They all leer in, but Masquerain again just tries to attack one at random: this time he summons up a large vomulme of ice, and directs it in a huge Ice Beam towards the nearest Archen. Again it bears down on the Archen, but once again the clone disappears as soon as the ice touches it, leaving the others safe in numbers and looking more dangerous than ever. This leaves just three Archens up in the air, surrounding Masquerain, who is looking very outnumbered and outgunned based off this round. However, no direct harm has come to it yet, so it will really have to wait for the next round to see what will end up happening in this great struggle!

((Let's not forget that Double Team is an illusory move; the clones' attacks have absolutely no weight whatsoever. :0 The only reason I had them Claw Sharpen was obviously to keep him from guessing which one is the real one. Just a reminder~))

"There we go... Exaclty as planned. Right, now it's time to dive in and smack Dave around with the your Stone-Edged wings, which you'll follow up with a Wing Attack, then another Stone Edge! Remain close and overwhelm it with your clones, don't let it try any funny business! He has a lot that can threaten you, but if you stick to him like glue, I don't think he'll be able to hit you with much...!"

[Wait a minute.. where'd that 18 damage come from?? He didn't evem hurt me that round :(]
Anyways... pardon the delay, I've been a bit busy as of late.
Alright, Dave, I know its scary. But stay cool! Use a mighty Ominous wind to destroy those clones(attempting to use the large gust of wind on all the clones & real Archen.)
Next, blast the real one out the sky with a powerful Hydro Pump!
Follow it up with another Ice Beam on 'im!
If he tries to fling projectiles at you, use Gust to deflect them!
(god you're movepool is soo tiny, Dave. :[)

    (EDIT: S'cool, it happens.

Also, I would like it noted that Stone Edge is a close-range move... I think....? Well that's its intended use here anyway. D: Hope I'm not going out of line by clarifying that.)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We left off last round with Archen and two clones swooping around up in the air, surrounding an intimidated Dave Strider (and yes I know they don't do anything, I'm just having fun with my first aerial battle :) ). They all begin by swooping in and knocking Dave Strider with the Stone Edge of their wings, which hits so hard that it looks like it might knock Dave Strider out of the air. However, he recovers eventually, and begins flapping its wings to generate an Ominous Wind across the battlefield. This wind hits everyone up in the air where everyone is, and it breaks up the illusions flying around with Dave Strider and Dromaeus. This leaves just the two battlers, but Dromaeus clearly still has the advantage.

It moves up again, this time bearing down with wings outstretched, to deliver a painful Wing Attack to Dave Strider, which hits just as hard as the last attack. Dave Strider however, this time unconfused by illusions, lets off a devastating Hydro Pump from point-blank range, blowing Dromaeus away from itself with the huge torrent of water, and knocking some of the momentum out of it. However, it does not do nearly enough to activate its well-known defeatist attitude, meaning Dave Strider is once again looking down the barrel of one of his great stone edge attacks.

So, as promised, Archen soar upwards to meet Dave Strider where it is in the air. It bears its Stone Edge in front of it, and as it soars it concentrates, builing up enough to momentum to try to take out Dave Strider onve and for all before it has to take another huge, super effective attack like before. It hits Masquerain, and it is completely bowled over, obviously out cold. It careers off to the side and over the edge of the record, where NyxNocturne just manages to recall him before he plunges into the river of magma beneath them. This leaves NyxNocturne with just one Pokemon left to try to save the battle with, and it sits now with him to release his last chance for winning the match.
