Battle at the Bomb Factory! Korski Vs Frosty! (Ref: dmtc)

Status
Not open for further replies.
Open Challenge:

4 vs. 4 Doubles
2-day player/ref DQ
2 recovers/5 chills
Rules: no fully-evolved Pokemon. Middle, basic, and baby forms are all acceptable.

Arena: Old Bomb Factory - A dilapidated, old factory that used to make bombs for some war. No one ended up using the bombs, so they were instead piled floor-to-ceiling and left to rot. They are very old, fragile, and most importantly, active. Unfortunately, our competitors will be battling in a small, cleared-out area of the factory surrounded by these bombs. Any missed physical attacks have a 75% chance of striking a bomb, causing it to explode and doing 10 damage to the attacker. Any missed special attacks have a 75% chance to explode 2-5 bombs behind the opposing team for 2 damage apiece on both opposing Pokemon. Any missed status moves have a 50% chance of defusing all the bombs behind the opponent's team. Any multi-target moves like Rock Slide, Earthquake, and Blizzard have a 20% chance of setting off all the bombs in the Factory, doing 25 damage to all Pokemon on the field.

Other than that, the roof has collapsed over the years, so sky-based attacks like Moonlight, Thunderbolt, and Sky Drop can still be used to their full potential. The four walls of the factory are far away, meaning the only horizontal impediments will be the walls of bombs surrounding the 20'x20' battlefield. Don't sprint or get thrown too fast in any direction, or you may hit a bomb (ref's discretion)!
Since no one wants to take my challenge, I will accept it, Korski.

Korski's Team:

Rhydon(*) Crumbles (M)

Type: Ground/Rock
  • Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
  • Rock: Rock STAB; Take 2 less damage from all special attacks during Sandstorm. Able to use Sand Tomb without losing focus.
Abilities: Lightningrod, Rock Head
  • Lightningrod: (Innate) These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric attack, they tranfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
  • Rock Head: (Innate) This Pokemon’s hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.
  • Reckless (LOCKED): (Innate) This Pokemon has an innately aggressive nature that lets it use all-out attacks with recoil more effectively. Recoil attacks from this Pokemon have two (2) more Base Attack Power, and recoil percentage is unaffected.

  • Grass: Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming “powder” attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.
Abilities: Leaf Guard, Battle Armor
  • Leaf Guard: (Innate) In bright sunlight the Pokemon is surrounded by a faint green glow. The glow protects it from all permanent and temporary status conditions.
  • Battle Armor: (Innate) This Pokemon’s thick armor prevents it from taking critical hits.
  • Chlorophyll (LOCKED): (Innate) During bright sunlight, this Pokemon’s cells absorb more solar energy, doubling (x2) their speed.
Nature: Sassy (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Defense; Divides Base Speed by 1.15 and gives a flat 10 point decrease in evasion, effectively adding 10 accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 95) on an opponent’s attacks.

Type: Steel/Psychic
  • Steel: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
  • Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities: Clear Body
  • Clear Body: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.).
  • Light Metal (LOCKED): (Innate) The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP).

  • Speed Boost (LOCKED): (Innate) Pokemon with this ability increase their speed as the battle progresses, boosting it one (1) stage at the end of each round at the cost of 2% of their energy. This overrides the normal drop in stats that ocurs at the end of each round (stats other than Speed are still affected).

My time is really short right now so no flavor, sorry.

Pokemon: Nudeln the Tangela with Chlorophyll and Gespenst the Dusclops with Pressure

Nudeln:
Sleep Powder at Combusken - Leech Seed at Combusken - Nature Power at Combusken (should become Tri Attack).

if Combusken wakes up on the second turn, replace Nature Power with another Sleep Powder at...guess who...Combusken.

Let's get going, then.

Yonderwear: Protect~Mirror Move (Sleep Powder @ Genspenst yay gravity)~Flamethrower (Nudeln)

Mecha: Iron Defense~Iron Head~Zen Headbutt (both on Nudeln)
If Genspenst is awake during your second or third action, aim your attacks at it instead of Nudeln!

As the battlers walk into the abandoned bomb factory, a tension fills the air. Both trainers acknowledge that they could face their toughest opponent to date. Korski decides to send out Yonderwear the Combusken and Mecha the Metang. Frosty responds by sending out Nudeln the Tangela and Gespenst the Dusclops.

Nudeln wastes no time, trying to put Yonderwear to Sleep, by sprinkling him with a cloud of Powder. The attack just falls harmlessly to the ground, as it drifts away from Yonderwears Protective barrier. Gespenst then increases the Gravity in the room, making it harder for the combatants to move. Mecha then begins to infuse its skin with Iron, boosting its Defense.

Yonderwear then begins to Mirror Nudeln's Move, spraying Nudeln with a Sleep Powder. Nudeln is able to easily avoid the attack, and it spits Seeds at Yonderwear, that begin to Leech his health. Mecha then uses its newly Iron-infused Head, and slams into Gespenst, making the Dusclops flinch.

Nudeln begins to call upon the Natural Powers from the environment, but since we are sitting in an old bomb factory, she fires a Tri Attack at Yonderwear, knocking him back. Yonderwear doesn't waste any time, and launches a Flamethrower right back at Nudeln, scorching the pile of vines. Mecha then becomes imbued with a Zen-like energy, then it Headbutts Gespenst, dealing critical damage and making him flinch once again.

Wow that actually worked out. But still, boo having to redirect the Sleep Powder back at Tangela instead of Dusclops as I intended...

Yonderwear: Let's hurt this Nudeln with Flamethrower x3
If it tries to use Sleep Powder on you again, replace that action with Protect.

Mecha: I don't expect you to keep up the haxxy work, but try. Your movepool is small. Iron Head~Zen Headbutt~Iron Head on Genspenst.

Mecha decides to continue its incredibly haxy ways, and smashes into Gespenst with its Iron Head. Poor Gespenst flinches once again, and is unable to do anything. Nudeln then releases another Sleep Powder above Yonderwear. Yonderwear is quick to set up another Protective barrier, and the powder falls to the ground.

Nudeln then uses Sleep Powder over Yonderwear once again. This time, the powder reaches Yonderwear before he can set up his Protective barrier, and the Combusken falls into a light sleep. Mecha turns back to Gespenst and strikes him with a powerful Zen Headbutt. Gespenst takes some critical damage and flinches from the attack.

Nudeln finally comes to the aid of her hax-ridden teammate and dowses Mecha with a Sleep Powder, putting the Metang into a deep sleep. Finally able to move, Gespenst creates a massive Earthquake. The ground rumbles and all the combatants take damage, but the bombs seems to remain intact.

This is fucking ridiculous.

Okay, Nudeln and Gespenst, I completely lost my patience here, so let's be OFFENSIVE

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH

Nudeln: Leech Seed (metang) - Sleep Powder (Combusken) - Nature Power (Combusken)
If Combusken isn't asleep on the third action, replace Nature Power with Sleep Powder (if I can't make this substitution....just use Sleep Powder twice at combusken).

Gespenst: Earthquake x3 (KILL THEM ALL!)

EDIT: Also, why did Zen Headbutt deal more damage than Iron Head when both have the exact same BP and both have STAB?

Nudeln starts the round by spitting out some more Seeds. This time, the seeds hit Mecha, and begin Leeching its health. Yonderwear doesn't seem to like that though, and he blasts Nudeln with a powerful Flamethrower. Gespenst then begins to make a gigantic Earthquake, knocking all the combatants off of their feet.

It seems that was the jolt that Mecha needed, as it wakes up and smashes its Iron Head right into Gespenst. What's this? Gespenst seems to have flinchedagain. Nudeln turns back to Yonderwear and dowses him with another Sleep Powder, putting him into a light sleep.

Nudlen begins to call upon the Power of the surrounding Nature, and launches a Tri Attack at Yonderwear. The attack hits and Yonderwear wakes up and becomes engulfed by a violent blaze. He then scorches Nudeln with another Flamethrower. Gespenst, happy that he can finally move multiple times in a round, creates another Earthquake. The earthquake then sets off a chain reaction, exploding all of the old bombs in the factory. The explosions are so violent that Yonderwear collapses to the ground, unable to battle, and Nudeln and Gespenst are nearing their ends.

You will faint now, Nudeln, deal with it.

Kitch jumps into the battle, ready to fight. Just has he steps into the arena, his leg bursts into a violent Blaze just as he Kicks Nudeln. But Nudeln was able to just avoid the attack, and she dowses Mecha with a Sleep Powder. Gespenst is nearing his end, but he has decided to Split his Pain, to show Kitch the toll that battling will take on him.

Nudeln then musters up some of her Hidden Power, before Firing it at the sleeping Mecha. Kitch decides that he doesn't want to feel the effects of the battle, and creates a Substitute, to help absorb some of the damage. Gespenst then gets tired of going last and creates a Trick Room, around the field.

Gespenst's hand then becomes engulfed in a brilliant Fire, and charges in and Punches Mecha. Mecha manages to hang on with a single HP, and smashes into Gespenst with a Zen Headbutt. Kitch then coughs out a Plume of smoke, then erupts, spewing Lava all over the battle field. The lava engulfs all the Pokemon, melting Mecha and Nudeln.

Trick Room is in effect for 4 more rounds.
Frosty, your new Pokemon. Then Korski's new Pokemon. Then Frosty's orders.

Also, Frosty has informed me that he may not have internet access for the next little while, and has asked to have till Monday morning for a DQ time (but it's really up to Korski).

I have like 1 minute to do this, so no flavor.

Übelbär the solosis will take the stand with Magic Guard.

I have a little more time to post now, so I may as well explain my situation a bit: I am at a course, right now and I have minimal time between classes to post and do other stuff. Sometimes I have 10/20 minutes, sometimes 1 hour. It is time enough to post every now and then and get this going at a reasonable speed (the same thing can't be said about the battles I am reffing, though)

Anyway, actions:

Gespenst: Chill - Will-o-Wisp at Crumbles - Ice Punch at Crumbles
If Crumbles Protects action 2, swap the second and third actions.

Übelbär: Reflect - Psyshock at Flarelm - Hidden Power at Crumbles.
If any of them protects, target the other poke

We'll just be as lenient as we can w/ the DQ, don't worry about it. All I ask is that we get this done with as soon as possible, as I need Rhydon for RP...

Sorry, but I really don't have the time to do all the flavour and I don't want to hold this match up anymore. Nothing of significance happened, other than Gespenst's WoW missing Crumbles.

Reflect = [7 Energy]
Chill = [+12 Energy]
Megahorn - [12+(5-3)x1.5+(6-5)x1-5]x1.5 = [17 Damage] [10 Energy]
Leech Seed = [11 Energy]

Psyshock - 8+3+(4-3)x1.5 = [13 Damage] [5 Energy]
Will-o-Wisp - Miss = [7 Energy]
Dig - 8+(5-3)x1.5+(6-5)x1-5 = [7 Damage] [7 Energy]
Light Screen = [10 Energy]

Hidden Power - [7+(4-2)x1.5-5]x1.5 = [8 Damage] [5 Energy]
Ice Punch - [8+(4-4)x1.5]x1.5 = [12 Energy] [6 Energy]
Megahorn - [12+(5-3)x1.5+(6-5)x1-5]x1.5 = [17 Damage] [10 Energy]
