Slightly ticked by the fact that abilities are turned off (crippling my Blizzard users thanks to no Snow Warning,) I decide to send out Snover anyway as a defensive scout thanks to its relatively good defenses.

To counter Snover I lead with Torchic.
    --------
Torchic use Protect to find out their strategy, then roast them with two Fire Blasts.

Both Pokemon stare at each other intently, swaying on the wooden platform as small currents go back and forth in the watery surroundings. The air is dense and humid. Both Great and Frostbite look raring to go!

Torchic starts off the match quickly by happily summoning a small, fire-based wall to Protect itself with from attack. Tortferngatr notices the intense fire coming from Torchic and decides to switch out his Frostbite with another Pokemon: Float the Plicowatt! The little tiny critter floats like paper in the air until it hits the surface of the surrounding water. Protect failed!

Great jumps up and down in the air, preparing a nasty Fire Blast to hit Float with. However, Float uses his natural instincts to Detect the incoming Fire Blast, and easily swims aside and avoids it.

Float takes the opportunity to swim all the way to the bottom of the arena. She grabs the ground with her little limbs and raises it into the water, creating a swarm of Muddy Watter! He flings the wave of liquid at Torchic, striking for a nasty hit! A bit of mud gets into Torchic's eyes, lowering his accuracy by one stage! Great, slightly blinded by the mud, conjures up a Fire Blast in retaliation, which hits Float directly!

It seems like Torchic isn't hurt TOO badly by this. On the other hand, Fire Blast isn't exactly accurate, so it's BOUND to miss, especially if I aid things further. Also, Torchic can't head beneath the waves...can it?

Go beneath the waves and use Muddy Water again!

Good work Torchic. When he dives underwater switch to solosis. Then calm your mind and hit with a energy ball.

    BEGIN ROUND 2

After a moment's reprieve, Float takes the initiative and delves deep, deep to the bottom of the water-filled chamber. She hides in wait, preparing for Torchic to foolishly enter the water. Plusle, realizing that Torchic's Fire moves be useless underwater, decides to withdraw Great the Torchic and send out Blob the Solosis! The little gelatin-based critter floats in the air happily as it hits the floating wooden platform. It seems, however, that Float does not notice this switch, since it's deep under the water, and cannot see her opponent directly nor can she hear Tortferngatr.

At the bottom of the arena, Float starts to conjure up another Muddy Water aimed at what she believes to be Torchic. Float raises her limbs, throwing a wave of brown liquid at Blob, hitting it for good damage. Mud gets thrown onto the front of Blob's outer shell, reducing Blob's accuracy by one stage. Blob concentrates his mind with a Calm Mind, raising its own stats while channeling its own inner thoughts and motions.

Using that same current, Float summons yet another Muddy Water to be thrown at Blob. This hits for slightly less damage than before, but puts even more mud on Blob's outer shell, reducing Blob's accuracy by one stage. Looks like luck is not on Blob's side right now! Blob, however, is unfazed by the mud on its shell and starts to take energy from the surrounding plants and water, creating a powerful Energy Ball! The ball slowly descends towards the resting place of Float. Float looks up and notices the large green ball approaching her - she knows that Torchic can't do that! Frantically, she tries to swim away from the ball, but the Energy Ball hones in on her, hitting her for great damage!

Ack. I think he knows he can beat you with this.

Therefore, "come back! Go, Frostbite (Snover)! It can't use its Magic Guard, so Leech Seed it and launch a Skull Bash at whatever heads in!"

    START ROUND 3

Blob the Solosis happily darts around the stage, gathering as much energy as she can for her Energy Ball attack. Realizing the typing disadvantage of Float, Tortferngatr puts his hand in the water and calls back Float. He releases Frostbite the Snover! Having gathered enough energy, Solosis unleashes Energy Ball at her target, hitting Frostbite for a small amount of damage.

Using the massive energy gathered from earlier, Blob summons yet another Energy Ball aimed for Frostbite, although slightly weaker than before thanks to the effects of Calm Mind wearing off. The ball of natural energy once again hits Snover for a small chunk of damage. This time, however, Frostbite retaliates, pulling out a group of Leech Seeds from his body and throwing them at Blob! The seeds land gently on the protective ball surrounding Blob, and start to grow deep routes connecting the seeds to the vulnerable Blob herself! Leech Seed will sap three (3) energy from Blob to Frostbite for six turns, including this one. The seeds sap energy from Blob, healing Frostbite in the process.

This time, Blob harnesses the power from not only nature around her, but from her newly planted roots courtesy of Frostbite. She unleashes yet another Energy Ball, this time lowering the Special Defense of Frostbite by one stage while also causing some small damage! Furious, Snover bows its head and starts to position its body in a hard, spear-like position. It's about to Skull Bash! The newly made position increases the Defense of Frostbite by one stage! Snover then runs full speed at Blob, a good amount of damage in retaliation! The Leech Seeds sap life from Blob!

    BEGIN ROUND FOUR

Frostbite begins to lower its head in anticipation once more, preparing yet another nasty Skull Bash to hit Blob with. However, this time, Blob concentrates his mind and takes control of Frostbite with a powerful Psychic attack! Blob lifts Snover into the air and thrusts him down with brute force, causing great damage! However, having been able to keep his concentration, Frostbite flies forward and slams into Blob, dealing a good hit while raising its Defense by one stage! Leech Seed takes its effect!

Frostbite begins to lower its head in anticipation once more, preparing yet another nasty Skull Bash to hit Blob with. Blob attempts to heal some of the wounds inflicted on him by focusing his mind and Recovering! This heals 20 points of HP! Frostbite slams right into Blob, dealing good damage once again while raising its Defense by one stage! Leech Seed takes its effect!

Plusle sees an opening for a switch, and decides to call back Blob from the field. Out pops Great the Torchic! As this is happening, Snover - once again - prepares a Skull Bash and charges right into Great, causing good damage!

    BEGIN ROUND FIVE

Great begins hopping up and down, creating enough energy within itself to fire a mighty Fire Blast at Frostbite! The blast hits Frostbite right in the face, scoring huge damage! Frostbite plucks a leaf from its branches and starts blowing into it, creating a melodious tune with his Grasswhistle! Great hears this soothing tone, which lulls him into an intense sleep, which lasts for six (6) actions!

Great peacefully slumbers on the floating platform, dreaming of little Catterpie and Weedle waiting to be eaten! Meanwhile, Frostbite lowers his head, and delivers a mighty Skull Bash! This also raises Frostbite's defense by one stage! This hits Great for good damage, but does enough to slightly disturb his sleeping, reducing his status to a deep sleep!

Tortferngatr, taking advantage of the sleeping Great, calls back Frostbite and sends out Float the Plicowatt! Great is still dreaming about a scrumptious meal!

    BEGIN ROUND SIX

Great the Torchic happily snoozes to the thoughts of a humongous feast - he sure seems like he's hungry! Anyway, this gives Float the opportunity to set up some massive damage! Float re-enters the watery bottom and starts spinning around the floating platform. She sucks in the platform and Great into a Whirlpool! The vortex spins rapidly, trapping Great in a swirling concave and causing damage each turn!! For some reason, however, Great doesn't seem to notice this, and remains asleep! Talk about a heavy dreamer!

Float starts to heat up an area of water away from the whirlpool using electric charges and fires off a Scalding flume of water right at Great! The beam of foamy water hits Great for huge damage, but Great becomes somewhat restless as a result, waking up from that hit! Great retaliates with a powerful Reversal, taking the energy it once had and transferring it into a massive blow! This hits Float for large damage!

Furious, Float once again summons a Muddy Water wave from the depths of the arena, and fires it at Great! The huge wave of water hits Great for large damage! Even more weakened, however, Great summons from himself an even stronger Reversal, which just barely keeps Float alive!
