Battle Within the Icy Forest (TRG v RA v Frosty v GK v Environment)(Feedback Welcome)

The sun was last seen setting over the horizon weeks ago, when two trainers met in the area to battle, only for one of them to flee when he realized the date. The sun is not supposed to rise again here for weeks, but the moon's light can be seen through the clouds.

Snow continues to fall...(Background Music)

The clouds continue to drop snow on the area as four trainers approach. From the northeast comes EspyOwner, with two normal Poke'mon in tow.

This boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Analytic (Dream World):
Type: Innate
If this Pokemon attacks after its target during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

The rules of battle are thus:

2vs2vs2vs2 Singles
DQ Time: 3 Days
Infinite Chills/Recoveries
2 Subsitutions
Restricted Moves: Unknown
Switch: KO
Abilities: All
Items: All
Restriction: PM Match; Trainers must also choose 1 or 2 of the Humanoid Types (Normal, Fighting, Psychic, Dark) when PMing mons

Arena: Icy Forest
Roleplay Arena: This is a snowy forest at the edge of a lake. The battle starts in the center of the area. The evergreen trees stand about 20 feet tall, but provide clear views of the gray sky, and the frozen flakes on the branches starting eight feet off the ground.
The lake in question is to the west of the battlefield, frozen. The ice, while thick enough to hold people and Pokemon up, could make for some interesting tactics if the field of battle moves in that direction.
To the south of the area lies a cabin amid the trees, though with no lights in it, it could be disused. The only way to confirm would be to check it out.
To the east of the center of the area, where the battle is starting, is an odd temple of sorts amid the trees, rich for exploration and plundering, if anything remains to be plundered.
Some distance to the north of the area, there are distant mountains. While they are too distant for the battlers to reach while in the battle, they can provide a landmark for one to base their directions off of.

The way this will work is thus:
EspyOwner will send out their first Poke'mon and attach an item.
The Royal Guard will send out their first Poke'mon and attach an item to them.
Ragnorakalex then sends out his first Poke'mon and attaches an item.
Finally, Frosty will send out his first Poke'mon and attach an item.
Then all four will PM round actions to me, Eternal Drifter, and I'll ref to the best of my ability, revealing potential developments.
Two actions will constitute a round.

But as the battle continues... remember... you are not the only ones in the woods... and the others may not respect the rules of battle...

Snow continues to fall...

Potential trainer actions, for reference:
Command: -0 energy
Command and act: - (1 + energy cost of action*1.5) energy
Command combo: -3 energy (For trying to get words out in a short period of time)
Command combo and act: - (combo cost + energy cost of action *1.5) energy
Run (please say which direction): -5 energy
Attempt move of choice: Varies by move attempted
Other: Varies by attempt

"Are you sure we are on the right place, Caffie? According to the map we are supposed to be on the mountains right there"

Caffie: "Syyyyclant" (translation: mountains are boring! this cold here is fun!)

"...you made us come here on purpose, uh? Ok, you are grounded!"

Go Gespenst. Take this Eviolite and finish this.

The four trainers each send out a Poke'mon. EspyOwner sends out Micah Sanders, his Porygon-Z, and wraps a Silk Scarf around its body to keep the digital duck from freezing. Kevin calls upon his Vaporeon Aceladus and gives him a Water Stone, to increase the power of attacks. Alexander asks Keraia, his Gardevior, to battle, handing her an Expert Belt to increase the power of her super effective attacks. Finally, after Frosty is done chastizing his Syclant Caffie, he withdraws the icy bug and sends out Gespenst, his Dusclops. You might ask why a Dusclops, in a battle with fully evolved Poke'mon, but as Frosty hands an Eviolite to Dusclops, it's made clear: Gespenst is going to endure the elements with impressive defenses, made stronger with the power of the Eviolite.

Snow continues to fall...

Even as preperations are underway, Micah is not sitting idlely. The Porygon-Z examines each opponent in turn judging their defenses. Even defenses all around, save for one: Keraia's defense is weaker than her special defense, and Micah Sanders quickly raises its attack to target to more easily target the weaker defense.

Snow continues to fall...

The four trainers look at each other, and the four Poke'mon in the middle look at each other as well. The board is set... the pieces are finally moving... let the battle begin!

Please PM actions to me!

Snow continues to fall... and the battle begins!

Speed order: Porygon-Z, Gardevoir, Vaporeon, Trainers, Dusclops

All four trainers call out actions to their Poke'mon.

"Use Hyper Beam on Gardevoir!" calls EspyOwner.
"Make a Subsitute!" calls Kevin.
"Will-O-Wisp the Ghost!" calls Alex.
"Imprison, then Trick Room!" shouts a slowly retreating Frosty.

Being the fastest of the group, the Porygon-Z Micha fires a large beam at Keraia, boosted by being the same type as the digital duck and by the Silk Scarf. But Alex itercepts the beam.

With himself.

Alex discovered Matyr! (-10 Energy)
(Ability: Protect gains priority when used on another, but take some damage that other would have taken.)
Alex used Protect on Keraia! (-11 Energy)
Micha Sanders used Hyper Beam on Keraia! (-9 Energy)
Hit: 07969 < 09000 = HIT
Crit: 04831 < 00625 = NORMAL

Unfortunately for Alex, trainers are not truely meant to take such blows.

Damage: (15+5+4+8.5-6)=26.5 Damage (Diverted!)
Alex used 10 Energy to spare Keraia!
New Damage: (15+5+4+8.5-1.5)/2= 15.5 Damage
Alex took 14.5 Damage for Keraia!
Micha Sanders became sluggish! (1 Action)

That was not wise. Free from the beam, Keraia creates a blue flame and hurls it at Gespenst.

Keraia used Will-O-Wisp on Gespenst! (-7 Energy)
Hit: 06901 < 08500 = HIT
Gespenst was burned!

The ghost, now burned, gets ready to prepare for the Imprisonment as others act. The Vaporeon quickly disappears, leaving behind a doll of snow.

Aceladus used Subsitute! (-18 Energy, -20 Health)
Aceladus made a Subsitute! (20 Health)

While all this is going on, Frosty is making a quiet retreat towards the temple...

Frosty is walking away... (-1 Energy)

...And Kevin starts mocking Keraia for hiding behind her trainer, if accidentally. Unfortunately, Alex's act has distracted the Gardevoir from the words.

Kevin used Taunt on Keraia! (-9 Energy)
Alex protected Keraia!

Finally, the Dusclops releases its power.

Gespenst used Imprison! (-8 Energy)
Gespent summoned an aura that prevents the use of Disable, Imprison, and Taunt! (6 Actions)

Snow continues to fall...
Aceladus's Water Stone restored his health! (+1 Health)
Gespenst is hurt by his burn! (-2 Health)

And all that? That's all action 1!

"Swift!" shouts EspyOwner.
"Yawn!" calls Kevin.
"Get us out of here!" cries Alex.

Before more actions can be done, Keraia and Alex disappear!

Keraia used Teleport! (-6 Energy)
Keraia took Alex with her!

At the entrance to the temple, Keraia and Alex reappear, Alex looking rather worse for wear.

Micha Sanders acts follows its orders fathfully, but its effectiveness is... somewhat lacking.

Micha Sanders used Swift on Aceladus, Keraia, and Gespenst! (-3 Energy)
Power: (6+5+4+8.5)*0.75=23.5*0.75
Aceladus Crit: 08035 < 00625 = NORMAL
Aceladus Damage: (23.5-4.5)*0.75= 19*0.75=14.25 Damage (Subsitute)
Keraia's out of range!
It doesn't affect Gespenst...

The stars fly at Keraia, the doll of snow, and Gespenst. The doll of snow looks like it is starting to break, while the ghost is unaffected. Before the stars can reach the Gardevoir, though, they fade out of existance. Too long of range, perhaps?

Aceladus yawns, looking at Gespenst from his hiding place in a nearby tree... and Gespenst follows suit.

Aceladus used Yawn on Gespenst! (-7 Energy)
Gespenst became drowsy!

Kevin is playing dirty... very dirty... he runs up to the drowsy Poke'mon, and makes a quick grab at the ghost's hands.

The thief!

Kevin discovered Adaptability! (-12 Energy)
Kevin used Thief on Gespenst! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 07288 < 00625 = NORMAL
Damage: (4+5+1.5-9.5)*1.5= 1.5 Damage
Kevin "borrowed" Gespenst's Evolite!

Frosty continues walking towards the temple, probably surprised at the developments of the battle. An injured Alex up ahead tries to rest... but the sheer shock of the attack keeps him awake.

Frosty continues to walk... (-1 Energy)
Alex must recover!

Finally, Gespenst acts, sending out pyschic power to twist the nearby dimentions.

Gespenst used Trick Room! (-10 Energy)
Gespenst summoned an aura that twists the nearby dimentions! (4 Rounds)

A little late? Perhaps... but the weather is taking a turn... for the worse.

It began to hail lightly! (1 Damage/Action to all non-ice without "Adaptated" status)
Aceladus's Water Stone restored his health! (+1 Health)
Gespenst is hurt by his burn! (-2 Health)

Round End:

Porygon-Z: -12 Energy

Vaporeon: -18 Health, -25 Energy, 6 HP Subsitute
Kevin: -27 Energy, useless Evolite gained

Alexander: -16 Health, -31 Energy

Gespenst: -6 Health, -18 Energy, Drowsy, Burned, Drowsy, Imprison Aura (5 Actions), Trick Room Aura (4 Rounds), Evolite lost
Frosty: -2 Energy

Frosty could reach the temple in one more round of time, while Alexander and Keraia are at the temple entrance; all three of them are out of Gespenst's Auras (and likely almost out of hearing range for Gespenst, if that matters, Frosty). Everyone else is in the center of the forest, though it can be felt that some fury may be building towards one of the trainers there, who now holds an Evolite in his hands.

Trainers, PM actions!

Hail continues to fall lightly...

The match continues, with tactics changing wildly.

Realizing that he could be out of Gespenst's hearing range, Frosty ran towards the battle and into the double auras, calling for Gespenst to rest. And due to the aura of the Trick Room, the order is carried out almost instantly.

Herdier:

Nature: Serious

Type: Normal
Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

Intimidate: Type: Can be Activated
When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as an action, and will affect all opponents.
Sand Rush: Type: Innate
This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, feeling more at home in them than all other Pokemon. This Pokemon's Base Speed is doubled (x2) in a Sandstorm. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.

Hail continues to fall...

Things are getting interesting indeed. Despite the excitement building, Gespenst continues to sleep, letting the world (and ice) pass on by.

Gespenst is fast asleep...

Faced with three hungry Herdiers looking at him, and a sleeping Dusclops defending him, Frosty decides to dig into the snow to get out of bite range.

Frosty dug into the snow! (-10 Energy)
Frosty's adapted status prevented freezing damage!

The snow is freezing cold, but since Frosty has adapted to the area, he manages to avoid taking damage.

The Herdiers, however, don't pay Frosty's evasive action much attention, though. The trip through the forest has taken a little energy from them, and to prepare for the hunt, they chill out.

Unknown enity used Mind Reader! (-??? Energy)
Unknown enity took aim at EspyOwner!

As EspyOwner deals with a headache from getting their mind read, we turn to Kevin and Aceladus as they continue to travel through the forest to the lake. What potential secrets lie in the lake that lure them there?

Kevin walked west... (-1 Energy)
Aceladus walked west... (-1 Energy)

Finally, the duo reach the frozen lake, coming out of the trees.

Meanwhile, we turn to the fourth trainer/Poke'mon duo, entering the temple.

Alexander walked east into the temple... (-1 Energy)
Keraia walked east into the temple... (-1 Energy)

The temple, made entirely of stone, would likely be pitch black if it wasn't for a single flickering blue flame on a torch on a pillar in the middle of the room. And what they find illuminated by the light... well, they are likely surprised by the room itself, the torch with the blue flame being the second-least impressive thing in the room.

On the walls, there is a series of murals. On the right side, there are a bunch of blank places, like there is room for future images, like the area nearest to the temple entrance.

On the left side, Alex doesn't see the entire wall of murals, but there are two murals easily seen by the dim light of the moon from outside. The first one is of Arceus hovering over a Luxray in a wooden doorway floating in midair, both looking towards an old man standing in what appears to be an ocean, but the human is many times larger than either of the two Poke'mon. Surrounded by many black dots, he is reaching towards an eight pointed orange star, with a circular indent in the center of it, like something goes there...

The next mural is of a human skeleton, the legs stuck in ice and the rest of the body on plain of ice, one of its hands clutching the only wood in the image.

Alex doesn't see any further murals clearly from his current position, but notices a real human skeleton in the temple, laying just beneath the next mural, clutching a couple of things to its chest.

Dimly in the blue light, Alexander notices the far wall, on the opposite side of the temple... on it...

Alex nearly dodges out of the temple before he realizes it is just another mural. In front of the mural is a statue of a young man, arm streched upwards with eyes looking up to what he is holding... and where Giratina's wings point to...

...Or, rather, at where the man once held something. The man's hand has been broken off sometime in the past, and is nowhere in sight. On the stump hangs a sign of some sort, and sitting on the stump...

"Walk the plank...Walk the plank..."

Its a mystery on how the chatot got here, but however it got here, it isn't hostile... in fact, it seems that it seems rather tired, weak, and reluctant to fight. (In fact, I'm not even going to give a KOC for this Poke'mon being defeated, not even in combination with other Poke'mon, though if you feel evil, you can attack it.) It might speak more if prompted, though.

Chatot:

Chatot (Male)
Nature: Quirky
Type: Normal/Flying
Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.
Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Keen Eye: Type: Innate
This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its attacks are still affected by an opponent’s evasion and the Pokemon's own accuracy.

Alas, some good things come to an end. Alexander isn't able to keep up his heightened speed, and, well, forcing himself to be prepared to move fast is very tiring. He won't be able to speed up for a bit.

Alex's speed fell harshly! (-3 stages)
Alex is too tired to use Agility! (Disable effect, 2 rounds after this round's end)

Well, now, Frosty isn't having any plans of becoming dinner.

Gespenst woke up!
Gespenst grabbed Frosty!
Gespenst used Shadow Sneak! (-6 Energy)

Frosty gives orders for retreat, and the Dusclops grabs him and uses Shadow Sneak to flee.

Gespenst fled south!

As the two flee south, they pass a trainer who was lost in the woods earlier, and is now heading northwards: Glacier Knight. Undetered, the two continue south, and as soon as the power of the sneak ends, Frosty is released, and he dashes further south on his own!

Frosty ran south! (-8 Energy)

Well, that went over very well. Is Frosty's luck turning? It definately looks that way! There is the cabin in front of the trainer, and a surprised woman looking out the darkened window at him.

Looking rather embarassed, the three Herdier give out howls.

Nature: Raid Boss

Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Pressure: Type: Innate
This Pokemon’s presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at this Pokemon costs the opposing Pokemon two (2) more energy to perform.
Great Presence: Type: Trait
This Poke’mon’s presence fills the air with thoughts of terror, and any damaging or status attack launched at this Poke’mon costs the opposing Pokemon one (1) more energy to perform (stacks with Pressure). Furthermore, the Poke’mon’s presence is so mighty that those in the aura (including the Poke’mon with Dreadful Presence itself) are unable to perform combos.
Ancient Presence: Type: Trait
This Poke’mon has survived millennia of the world, and knows how to withstand and ignore status effects that would weaken or prevent its attacks. Furthermore, it can shake off any status effect, given enough time (6 actions).
Snow Cloak: Type: Innate
This Pokemon is used to snowy blizzard conditions and gains a 20% evasion boost during Hail. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Hail damage.
Remorseless Winter: Type: Innate
When this Poke’mon battles, it summons a hailstorm. This hailstorm lingers until the summoner leaves the area or faints; this weather overrides all other weather types in the area.

...Let's just say that EspyOwner is no longer in the battle.

(EspyOwner has not sent in actions, and when I inqured about it on IRC, they claimed that they were quitting CAP ASB; thus, this quick exit for them. Glacier Knight volunteered to take his place.)

The bird fleeing back upward into the sky, its work done for now, we now turn to Kevin, who is at the lake. Seeking this place for some reason, Aceladus raises his voice, while Kevin focuses to increase his response time.

Aceladus used Hyper Voice! (-7 Energy)
Kevin used Agility! (-7 Energy)
Kevin's Speed sharply rose! (2 Stages)

The ice suddenly cracks, with a faint boom heard... and Kevin suddenly sees several Magikarp beneath the cracked ice, and a Tentacool starting to approach. While you can probably take these, their evolved forms could give some serious trouble... luckily, the ice still keeps them from you.

Back at the temple, Alexander starts to look a little closer, and notices the skeleton is holding a journal and a pair of small orbs (a red and a black one), while his partner rests.

Keraia chilled! (+12 Energy)

The Chatot looks at the pair, then speaks. "Hey, listen. Hey, listen. Hey, list- *splat*. Hey, listen. Hey, listen. Hey, list- *splat*."

It seems the bird is trying to get the trainer's attention... will he give it?

Sorry for delays... schoolwork is building on me much bigger than anticipated. Don't worry, I have not given up on this, but am waiting for a better time to act.

Actions are all in, but for the sake of my physical health (as well as what remains of my mental health), I would like to get the round up sometime on Friday. Again, I apologize for the delays.

I will say, though, in summary...

The Royal Guard sets up, affecting everything out in the open.
Ragnarakalex explores the temple a little.
Frosty talks with the woman at the cabin, getting a chunk of information and a consumable item (only for this battle, though).
Glacier Knight starts battle with the Herdiers, unlocking his ability before battle (Intimidate).

As for specifics... thats for when I have four hours to spare with nothing hanging over me!

Hail continues to fall...

The adventures continue.

At the frozen lake, Kevin and Aceladus prepare for whatever may occur.

Aceladus chilled! (+12 Energy)
Kevin used Bulk Up! (-11 Energy)
Kevin’s Attack rose! (1 Stage)
Kevin’s Defense rose! (1 Stage)

Are they preparing to break through the ice and face whatever lies beneath it? Not even I know.

Glacier Knight, faced with three Herdiers, glares at them, and calls out:

Glacier Knight said:
Let's go Reika! Time to teach some pooches why you don't mess with a Glacier.
His forceful personality, and his ice cold eyes, make the three opponents start to reconsider their attacks. But they’re already mid-lunge; they can’t change actions now!

Glacier Knight discovered Intimidate! (-10 Energy)
Glacier Knight intimidated his foes!
Wild Herdier’s (1) attack fell! (1 Stage) (+5 Threat)
Wild Herdier’s (2) attack fell! (1 Stage) (+5 Threat)
Wild Herdier’s (3) attack fell! (1 Stage) (+5 Threat)

The battle starting between him and the three, with Reika supporting, one of the Herdiers makes a move to tackle him… and Glacier is ready for it.

Glacier Knight used Sucker Punch on Herdier (1)! (-9 Energy)
Crit: 00783<00625 = NORMAL
Damage: (8+3+1.5-4.5)=8 Damage/Threat

As the Herdier is recovering from being punched in its head, Reika supports by sending out a blizzard at the now moving dogs.

Reika used Blizzard! (-7 Energy)
Crit 1: 02010<00625= NORMAL
Crit 2: 09868<00625 = NORMAL
Crit 3: 06202<00625= NORMAL
Damage: (9+3+7.5-4.5+4)=19 Damage/Threat each
Effect 1: 05033<01000= No effect
Effect 2: 09206<01000= No effect
Effect 3: 06544<01000= No effect

Not the intended effect, but the target of two of the three may be changing next action. Undeterred for the moment, all three manage to tackle Glacier.

Wild Herdier (1) used Tackle on Glacier Knight! (-2 Energy)
Crit: 01454<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-1.5)=10 Damage
Wild Herdier (2) used Tackle on Glacier Knight! (-2 Energy)
Crit: 07672<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-1.5)=10 Damage (20 Total)
Wild Herdier (3) used Tackle on Glacier Knight! (-2 Energy)
Crit: 09107<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-1.5)=10 Damage (30 Total)

Uh oh... it seems Glacier Knight may be needing help quickly.

We now turn southwards to the cabin, where Frosty is catching his breath just outside the door, now opened by a woman.

Frosty said:
Oh hello, sorry to bother. I was running from some wild herdiers that wanted to chew on me. Do you mind if I catch my breath here?
“Oh... please, feel free to rest,” replies the woman. “It’s been some time since I’ve had company. You didn’t run into the Herdier and Stoutland den to the north, did you?”

...It seems there is more in the forest than was first thought. Apparently, to the north of the starting area, there’s a den of Herdiers and Stoutlands. The three that were encountered may only be a hunting party.

Gespenst ran to Frosty! (-5 Energy)

With Frosty out of trouble for now, we turn to the temple, where Alexander and Keraia are trying to get some information from the Chatot, mainly by healing the Chatot’s wounds.

Keraia used Heal Pulse on Chatot! (-13 Energy)
Chatot’s at full health!
Chatot’s Aged status was discovered! (-25% max health, -50% max energy)

Regrettably, the Chatot’s low health is not caused by battle, but by the scars of time... and from perhaps making its home here in an environment ill-suited for it. Still, it’s a little grateful for the attempt.

Wind in yer sails…

Alexander then attempts to get information about the two orbs from the Chatot, but is met with silence. Either the bird doesn’t know anything, or if it does, its not telling. Instead, it flies over to the torch with the blue flame and starts scratching it while in mid-air, casting a glance at Alexander.

Meanwhile, hail continues to fall…
Aceladus is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)
Kevin is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Gespenst is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Gespenst’s Imprison Aura ended!
Glacier Knight is hurt by hail! (2 Damage, 32 Total)

Hail continues to pelt those in the battlefield, leaving Glacier Knight heavily damaged. One negative finally came to Frosty, though, with Gespenst’s Imprison Aura finally ending.

But still, the battle continues.

Tired of the hail, Aceladus does a quick dance at the frozen lake’s edge, while Kevin rested a little.

Aceladus used Rain Dance! (-9 Energy)
The hail stopped.
Kevin chilled! (+12 Energy)

At least the hail stopped, preventing more damage to combatants from the sky.

Meanwhile, Vanilluxe acts to freeze one of Herdiers in its tracks. Aiming at its feet may weaken the power of the attack, but the likelihood of a freeze, even a weak one, just went up.

Reika used Ice Beam on Herdier (2)! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 07764<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (5+3+7.5-4.5+4)=15 Damage/Threat (34 Total Damage)
Effect: 07668<04000= No Freeze

Undeterred, the three charge at the Vanilluxe.

Wild Herdier (1) used Tackle on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 01282<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-4.5)=7 Damage
Wild Herdier (2) used Tackle on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 03578<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-4.5)=7 Damage (14 Total)
Wild Herdier (3) used Tackle on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 07251<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-4.5)=7 Damage (21 Total)

With the three attacking his much sturdier partner, Glacier Knight punches one in the stomach as it retreats.

Glacier Knight attempted Drain Punch on Herdier (1)! (-11 Energy)
Crit: 07540<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (8+3+1.5-4.5)*1.5=12 Damage/Threat (39 Damage Total)
Glacier Knight’s attack was untrained! (Half Healing)
Glacier Knight’s health was restored! (12/2/2=3 Health recovered)

Not trained in the expert attack he attempted, he is unable to reap the full benefits of it. True, he did anger the Herdier he attacked some, getting its attention to rest squarely on him for the moment. And as the fury of battle starts to close in, his body’s excitement provides a small buffer of health. Better than nothing, at least.

To the south, Frosty tries to get more information from the woman as Gespenst rests.

Gespenst chilled! (+12 Energy)

Frosty said:
Sorry to bother again, but do you happen to know anything about this forest that I might wanna know? I'll have to go back there and it seems kinda suspicious.
“There’s a Herdier den to the north of here, with a strong Stoutland leading the pack. To the northwest of us, there’s that frozen lake, where I heard from a traveler that a Gyarados rests, though I’ve never seen it. And to the northwest of us...there is a temple that most of the Poke’mon here avoid. A traveling scientist called it the Temple of the End.”

“You’re heading out?” she continues. “Even as you are at risk of being hunted? You may be needing this...”

From one of her pockets she pulls out a set of herbs, touched around the edges with ice.

Revival Herb is being offered. It will spoil after the battle if taken, but will heal one KOed creature (Poke’mon or Human) to 100% Health and 1 Energy.

“This will revive anyone who remains and is unconscious fully, though they won’t be able to do much without rest. If you do want this, though... could you do me a favor? I need a subject for my next ice sculpture, and when you’re done with your fight, would you be interested in posing for me?”

Does Frosty agree to the woman’s terms?

Back at the Temple...or rather, the Temple of the End, Alexander catches two orbs tossed to him by Keraia.

Keraia used Psychic on the Small Red Orb and Small Black Orb! (-4 Energy)

Alex, meanwhile, after catching the orbs, tries to speak with the Chatot about the murals. Surprisingly, the bird responds in the positive.

Wind in yer sails!

With that, the Chatot flies between two pillars on the right side of the temple, casting a quick glance at Alex as it does so before it disappears into darkness.

Hey, listen.

What does the Chatot want to show Alexander?

Outside the temple, the weather changes...

It began to rain! (4 Rounds)

And stats return towards normal, though some more painfully than others.

Keraia’s Special Attack fell and returned to normal! (-1 Stage)
Keraia’s Special Defense fell and returned to normal! (-1 Stage)
Kevin’s Speed harshly fell! (-3 Stages)
Kevin is too tired to use Agility! (Disable effect, 2 rounds after this round's end)

Rain continues to fall... (4 more rounds)
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)

As the round draws to a close, several mysteries of the forest are being revealed. Kevin might be prepared to explore the frozen lake. Frosty has a chance to gain a potent healing item. Glacier Knight is helping take down the hunting party of the Herdiers. And the Chatot seems to be wanting Alex to follow him, to reveal something...

Round End:

Aceladus: +3 Energy
Kevin: -2 Health, +1 Energy, +1 Attack, +1 Defense, -3 Speed, Disable Effect (Agility; 2 Rounds)

Keraia: -17 Energy, -1 Special Attack, -1 Special Defense

"Finally someone recognized my intense beauty! Also I feel my ears burning...I wonder why"

Actions are all in. This means I can start putting the results of this round together. I hope that the results of the round are up by Friday, but with schoolwork, I can make no guarentees.

In short, though: backup for Glacier is on the way.

Herdier Actions:

Herdier 1:
Action 1: Crunch (Reika)
Action 2: Crunch (Reika)

Herdier 2:
Action 1: Crunch (Reika)
Action 2: Crunch (Reika)

Herdier 3:
Action 1: Crunch (Reika)
Action 2: Crunch (Reika)

Rain continues to fall…

And with the rain now falling, the Herdiers are now angry. They’re used to snow; it hasn’t actually rained in this area for years. This sudden downpour is ruining their concentration, and Frosty is also feeling some of the effects.

Herdier (1) lost its adapted status!
Herdier (2) lost its adapted status!
Herdier (3) lost its adapted status!
Frosty lost his adapted status!

Glacier looks at his opposition, and with a tinge of regret in his voice calls for help.

And it is answered.

In the temple, Alexander hears Glacier’s plea, and quickly says goodbye to the Chatot while calling for Keraia to get them to Glacier Knight.

Keraia used Teleport! (-6 Energy)
Keraia took Alex with her!

Appearing suddenly behind Glacier Knight, Alex prepares to act while Keraia recovers from the teleportation.

Almost as quickly, Reika sends a ball of energy into the sky, watching it transform and come crashing down onto her target.

Reika used Weather Ball on Herdier (1)! (-7 Energy)
The Weather Ball gained power and became Water-Typed!
Crit: 08972 < 00625 = NORMAL
Damage: (10+7.5-4.5+3)=16 Damage/Threat

With that hit, the Herdier that had its attention on Glacier Knight turns its attention to the Vanilluxe that hit it. Glacier Knight has lost the attention of all three Herdiers.

Angry at the Ice Poke’mon for getting between themselves and the pack’s dinner, the three Herdiers simultaneously bite the Vanilluxe.

Herdier (1) used Crunch on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 06513<00625= NORMAL
Damage: (8+4.5-4.5)=8 Damage
Effect: 06887<02000= No Drop
Herdier (2) used Crunch on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 01792<00625= NORMAL
Damage (8+4.5-4.5)= 8 Damage (16 Total)
Effect: 09716<02000= No Drop
Herdier (3) used Crunch on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 01000<00625= NORMAL
Damage: (8+4.5-4.5)= 8 Damage (24 Total)
Effect: 00056<02000= Defense -1
Reika’s Defense fell!

...That drop could pose problems in the near future.

With that, Glacier Knight quickly dashes up a tree part of the way and jumps diagonally off the trunk, quickly grasping a branch as Alexander tries to make a move.

Glacier Knight managed to climb a tree! (-27 Energy, -5 Threat to all nearby foes)
Alexander attempted Heal Pulse on Glacier Knight! (-19 Energy)
...But it failed! (+7 Energy)

It seems Alexander has, regrettably, discovered a limit to his power for the moment. The upside of his failed attempt...

Alexander became non-threatening! (-10 Threat to all nearby foes)

It will take some effort before Alexander draws the attention of the Herdiers nearby and becomes next on their menu. Negative threat... just when you thought it wasn’t possible.

As Glacier Knight pulls himself into the tree, and out of sight (but not out of mind), Kevin also starts to answer Glacier’s plea with Aceladus. They seem to be taking their time, though.

Kevin walked east... (-1 Energy)
Aceladus walked east... (-1 Energy)

Frosty takes the Revival Herb from the woman, her hands as cold as ice as he does so, and he thanks her.

Frosty said:
"Sounds like a plan! I will come here with my Syclant for that. See ya!"
With that, Frosty and Gespenst start back northward, looking around warily, both ready to bolt if anything decides to make the pair their meal.

Frosty gained a Revival Herb!
Gespenst walked north... (-1 Energy)
Frosty walked north… (-1 Energy)

They see the battle of the Herdiers and the Vanilluxe up ahead, with a Gardevior and Alexander looking on. The Stoutland den Frosty heard about is currently not in sight.

Rain continues to fall…
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)

The battle continues, with Keraia taking a quick rest from all the teleporting Alexander is having her do.

Keraia chilled! (+12 Energy)

Next up, the Vanilluxe acts, with an Ice Beam on the Herdier that she pounded on before.

Reika used Ice Beam on Herdier (1)! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 04245<00625= NORMAL
Damage: (10+3+4+1+7.5-4.5)=21 Damage/Threat (37 Damage Total)
Effect Strength: 00983=1 Action+1
Herdier was frozen solid! (2 Actions; +10 Threat)

That went over well, freezing the water that was on the Herdier. The creature itself is now frozen, with an expression of surprise on its face.

Aceladus now tries to attack, sending a burst of compressed water through the trees.

Aceladus used Hydro Pump on Herdier (1)! (-7 Energy)
Accuracy: 08754<06000= MISS
Aceladus’s attack missed!

That could have gone better. This distance from the Herdiers cut the accuracy from the attack, though even if the Vaporeon was right next to the battle, the attack still may have missed. The water misses the Herdier by about two feet, hitting a tree somewhere else in the forest.

The two free Herdiers act now, biting Reika again, tying to do enough damage to knock her out.

Herdier (1) is frozen solid! (-1 Action)
Herdier (2) used Crunch on Reika! (-10 Energy)
Crit: 05463<00625= NORMAL
Damage (8+4.5-4.5)+1.75= 9.75 Damage (33.75 Total)
Effect: 08204<02000= No Drop
Herdier (3) used Crunch on Reika! (-10 Energy)
Crit: 05285<00625= NORMAL
Damage: (8+4.5-4.5)+1.75= 9.75 Damage (43.5 Total)
Effect: 06895<000625=No Drop

The damage continues to build on Reika...and I’m not entirely sure she can take much more of this.

Now, three trainers try to act.

In the tree, Glacier Knight pulls out a small bag from his coat pocket, and looks through it.

“I seem to have left my Sitrus Berries at home…”

With a frown, he pulls out an Oran Berry, and gulps it down, restoring some of his health.

Glacier Knight used an Oran Berry! (-1 Oran Berry from Berry Pouch)
Glacier Knight’s health was restored! (+10 Health, +10 Threat to nearby foes)

That will certainly help him out, though with only one Oran Berry left in his bag (as well as a bunch of status-curing berries), he won’t be able to heal off all of his damage with berries.

Kevin looks at the Herdiers, and tries to send out a Dark Pulse.

Kevin attempted Dark Pulse on Herdier (1)! (-5 Energy)
...But it failed! (+2 Energy)

It now seems that Kevin has also discovered a limit to his power for now. To boot, he is likely out of range.

Alexander, meanwhile, undeterred from the failure of the Heal Pulse, tries to set up defenses with his mind... and actually... succeeds.

Alexander attempted Reflect! (-7 Energy)
...Success! (-3 Energy)
Alexander created a barrier that weakened physical attacks to himself and Keraia! (6 Actions, Center Area Only)

You got to give the man some credit, at least. Glacier Knight may have been affected as well, if he wasn’t out of reach.

Meanwhile, Frosty and Gespenst continue northwards towards the battlefield, ever keeping an eye out for threats. He’s definitely smart, knowing that he can’t stand up to threats himself.

Gespenst walked north... (-1 Energy)
Frosty walked north… (-1 Energy)

And with that, the actions of the round ends, with several other things coming to an end as well. Not the rain, though: that lingers for a few more rounds.

Rain continues to fall… (3 More Rounds)
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)

No... what ends...

Alexander’s Speed rose and returned to normal! (+1 Speed)
Alexander’s Agility is no longer disabled!
Gespenst’s Attack rose! (+1 Attack)
Kevin’s Attack fell and returned to normal! (-1 Attack)
Kevin’s Defense fell and returned to normal! (-1 Defense)
Gespenst’s Trick Room Aura ended!

Is a lot of effects. A bunch of stats start returning to normal, and Gespenst’s last Aura ends.

With one Herdier almost ready to bite the dust, it appears that the first (finally) KO is at hand. While it is on the local wildlife, and not any of the trainers or their Poke’mon, the question is: who will get it?

Round End:

Aceladus: +2 Health, -8 Energy
Kevin: -4 Energy, -1 Attack, -1 Defense

Keraia: +6 Energy, Reflect (6 Actions)
Alexander: -19 Energy, +1 Speed, Reflect (6 Actions), Disable Ends

Gespenst: -2 Energy, +1 Attack, Trick Room Aura Ended
Frosty: -2 Energy, Icy Revival Herb gained, Adapted status lost, Adapting (2/3)

Reika: -44 Health, -13 Energy, -1 Defense
Glacier Knight: +10 Health, -27 Energy

Herdier 1: -37 Health, -6 Energy, Frozen (1 Action), Adapted status lost, Adapting (1/3)

Trainers! PM Actions! Let us continue the adventure in the Icy Forest!

Someone take get the KO from the weak herdier, Reika is has another plan in mind! Alex if you could heal dear Reika, she has a lot of threat on her..

Herdier Actions revealed:
1:
Action 1: Bite
Action 2: Tackle
2:
Action 1: Bite
Action 2: Tackle
3:
Action 1: Bite
Action 2: Tackle
IF Herdier 1 faints, replace next action with Howl.

Rain continues to fall...

As the rain falls, so do two of the trainers upon the Herdiers.

And Alexander does so with impressive speed.

Alexander used Quick Attack on Herdier (1)! (-5 Energy)
Crit: 01854<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+1.5-4.5)=1 Damage

The speed is impressive, though the damage isn’t.

Despite the Herdiers on her, Glacier Knight doesn’t call anything to Reika. Does he think that she’s now a lost cause? Lacking orders, the Vanilluxe chills out.

Reika chilled! (+12 Energy)

Very odd. Nevertheless, Keraia gathers her focus, sending a ball of energy at the frozen Herdier.

The infamous Focus Blast is the ball of energy sent the way of the Herdier. Commonly called in competitive battling circles as “Focus Miss,” trainers usually only train their Poke’mon with it only because the Fighting Hidden Power is unavailable. The ball flies slowly at the Herdier... and hits... and knocks the Herdier out!

Keraia used Focus Blast on Herdier (1)! (-8 Energy)
Accuracy: 01103<07000=HIT
Crit: 08030<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (12+2+8.5-4.5)*1.5=27 Damage (28 Total)
HERDIER (1) FAINTED! (+1 KOC Keraia)
Alexander’s skill increased! (+1 Attack Rank)
Glacier Knight’s skill increased! (+1 Attack Rank)

The tide begins to turn in the way of the battlers! Each of them having inflicted damage on the Herdier themselves, both Alexander and Glacier Knight have learned how to empower their blows from it. The frozen Herdier falls to the ground, unconscious, and the other two Herdiers start entertaining second thoughts.

Nevertheless, the battle continues!

Though a little more slowly. Seeing their packmate fall, one of the Herdiers sends up a howl...

Wild Herdier (3) used Howl! (-4 Energy)
Wild Herdier's (3) Attack rose! (1 Stage)
Unknown Poke'mon used Howl!

And it is answered in kind. I don’t think it bodes well.

Undaunted, the other Herdier bites down on the Vanilluxe.

Wild Herdier (2) used Bite on Reika! (-3 Energy)
Crit: 05217<00525=NORMAL
Damage: (6+4.5-4.5)+1.75=7.75 Damage

...Near-scratch Damage. I wonder if they realize that continuing to bite away at the Vanilluxe may be not worth it.

With a battle cry, Kevin charges with Aceladus by his side, running back to the field of battle!

Aceladus ran east! (-5 Energy)
Kevin ran east! (-8 Energy)

The pair are back in position, and, I can say with a smile, are in range so that they can strike with their attacks.

Meanwhile, Glacier Knight dozes off in the tree.

Glacier Knight chilled! (+12 Energy)

I REALLY hope he knows what he’s doing.

Meanwhile, Frosty, not wanting to get involved in the battle, decides to go in a northeasterly fashion around it.

Frosty walked northeast... (-1 Energy)
Gespenst walked northeast... (-1 Energy)

Nothing looks at him or his ally, so they continue undaunted. No nasty surprises this round!

Rain continues to-
Hail started to fall!

Uh-oh. What summoned this hail?

Articuno appeared! Articuno’s Remorseless Winter summoned a hailstorm!

Oh. That. Not good. It seems to be not attacking right now, but one could battle it to make it stick around, if they choose.

Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)

The Articuno lingers, looking at Glacier Knight’s tree, but not doing anything urgent.

Articuno is watching carefully!

Lacking anything else to do, Reika just continues recovering energy.

Reika chilled! (+12 Energy)

Something to watch.

Meanwhile, Keraia decides that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” or something along those lines, and sends a healing pulse at Reika.

Keraia used Heal Pulse on Reika! (-13 Energy)
Reika regained health! (+20 Health) (-12.25 Damage Total)
Keraia drew the attention of the Herdiers! (+10 Threat Each)

The healing draws the attention of the Herdiers, but the duo are too busy with Reika at the moment. The two start to charge at her, putting their weight behind their strikes. But the second Herdier is bitten by Aceladus in his charge.

Aceladus used Bite on Herdier (2)! (-4 Energy)
Crit: 07789<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (6+3-4.5)=4.5 Damage/Threat
Effect: 07548<03000= No Flinch

Not much damage, but it does start building it up. But for now, it is the turn of the two remaining Herdiers, who charge Reika.

Herdier (2) used Tackle on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 08733<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-4.5)+1.75=8.75 Damage (-3.5 Damage Total)
Herdier (3) used Tackle on Reika! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 01498<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (4+3+4.5-4.5)+3.5=10.5 Damage (7 Damage Total)

At least the Heal Pulse canceled out most of the damage they did this round.

Alexander, seeing Frosty and Kevin on the move starts shouting, calling for Kevin to help flank the Herdiers and for Frosty to push the Herdiers towards Kevin. It will be up to the others to decide if they listen, though.

Kevin decides to get crafty in attacking the Herdiers. Sending out Eirlasdar the Serperior for but a moment, both of Kevin’s Poke’mon and Kevin himself slap the targeted Herdier.

Kevin sent out Eirlasdar!
Kevin called for a Beat Up on Herdier (2)!
Aceladus attacked! (-2 Energy)
Crit: 04831<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (3+3-4.5)=2.5 Damage/Threat (7 Total)
Kevin attacked! (-1 Energy)
Crit: 00433<00625=CRITICAL HIT!
Damage: (3+5+3+1.5-4.5)=8 Damage/Threat (15 Total)
Eirlasdar attacked! (-2 Energy)
Crit: 05605<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (3+3-4.5)=2.5 Damage/Threat (17.5 Total)
Kevin withdrew Eirlasdar!

Both Aceladus and Eirlasdar manage to get light hits on the Herdier, dealing slight damage with each of them. Kevin himself, though, manages to strike precisely in a weak point, inflicting more damage. With Eirlasdar gone, his threat falls to Kevin, but luckily for the trainer, Reika managed to secure the Herdier’s attention the previous rounds, so Kevin is safe for the moment.

Meanwhile, Glacier continues resting up in the tree.

Glacier Knight chilled! (+12 Energy)

And Frosty and his ally continue northwards, turning northwest to continue to avoid the battle in the center of the forest.

Frosty walked northwest... (-1 Energy)
Gespenst walked northwest... (-1 Energy)

Its all very well for them, staying safe and sound while the others continue fighting in the center. Though...

“Way... O you...”

A voice of darkness whispers in Frosty’s head as he turns away from the temple... what could it mean?

Nevertheless, the round comes to a close. It looks like it could rain still, but one would have to deal with the hail first. Temporary statuses continue to return towards normal as hail starts pounding on those in the forest.

Rain threatens to fall... (2 more rounds)
Hail continues to fall...
Aceladus is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)
Kevin is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Gespenst is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Herdier (2) was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Herdier (3) was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Glacier Knight was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Reika’s Ice Body restored health! (+2 Health, 5 Damage Total)
Keraia was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Alexander was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Reika’s Defense rose and returned to normal! (+1 Defense)
Kevin’s Speed rose and returned to normal! (+1 Speed)
Kevin’s Agility is no longer disabled!
Gespenst’s Attack rose! (+1 Attack)

A sudden, looming possible threat over their heads, hail raining down on the battlefield, the only good news is that the Herdiers seem cornered. Though Frosty now sees a pack of Herdiers and a single Stoutland in the darkness to the north of him, clustered around a few large piles of snow. Luckily, they don’t seem to be paying any attention to him for the moment. What will trainers do?

Herdier actions Revealed!
Both:
Action 1: Crunch
Action 2: Tackle

Hopefully things won’t go too far downhill... Trainers, PM actions! Especially Glacier Knight!

;____________; I'm bussssy I'm sorry (I was kicked out f the melee of history too....)

Oh my god can I catch the articuno omg where the hell is a pokeball

Ok I'm a horrible person but I'm triple posting so i can get my actions in. Guise help me. Guise. Guise plz.

Reika, use double team to make four copies of yourself! That will confuse the pooches. Then you need you conjure up a thick mist to further hinder your opponents! (I want the mist to help hide the real reika).

As for me..... I love me some articuno. Forreal my favorite legendary. Since I'm it's target, I'm gonna pull out my ice shard necklace. I always keep it on my body at all times, for it was a gift from my parents after leaving the knight guild to go off exploring for exciting new places. It's not really ice but a light blue shiny crystal. I will offer that up to the great and all mighty articuno, in hopes for safe passage and other good tidings.

Hail continues to fall...

Things are changing, with Articuno’s presence on the battlefield known. Still, it doesn’t seem to be doing anything yet...

Articuno is watching carefully!

Drawing upon energy from within, Alexander sends a small beam of light at his partner.

Alexander used Helping Hand! (-7 Energy)
Alexander is ready to help Keraia!

Keraia decides to act again, sending a ball of energy at the weaker Herdier, which is empowered by Alexander physically straining himself.

Keraia used Focus Blast on Herdier (2)! (-8 Energy)
Alexander helped Keraia! (-19 Energy)
Accuracy: 03297<07000=HIT
Crit: 00286<00625=OUCH!
Damage: (24+3+2+8.5-4.5)*1.5=49.5 Damage
HERDIER FAINTED! (+1 KOC Keraia)

...And it’s a finishing critical hit!

With Herdier left on Reika, the Vanilluxe decides its better to play defensively for a bit and wait for the hail to restore her health some.

Reika used Double Team! (-24 Energy)
Reika created four images of herself!

This plays doubly in her favor. Not only is she harder to hit...

Reika’s threat fell! (-60%)
Herdier 3: 8

...The last Herdier out and about simply decides to forget about it.

As Glacier Knight is slack-jawed at the Articuno, trying to find a necklace to please it... Kevin gives orders to Aceladus to play dirty.

Aceladus used Signal Beam on Glacier Knight! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 08742<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (8+7.5-1.5)=14 Damage/Energy Damage
Effect: 3<1 (1d10 used)= No effect

Critical health! Is Glacier going out this round?!? At the very least, the shock of the attack forced Glacier to hang onto the branch, exerting some energy for it.

The Herdier remaining glares at the many images, and charges at the nearby tree with Glacier in it, before deciding that it’s not yet worth it to try to get Glacier out of the tree. It instead turns towards Keraia, teeth bared.

Herdier (3) used Crunch on Keraia! (-6 Energy)
Crit: 04580<00625=NORMAL
Damage: ((8+4.5-4.5)*0.67)*1.5+1.75 =9.75 Damage
Effect: 4<2 (1d10 Rolled)= No effect

Damage is taken, but Keraia has health to spare at the moment. I hope it still proves true in the longer term.

Now, trainers act, starting with Glacier Knight. He manages to pull out a necklace of a icy sapphire, but...

“Catch!” Kevin shouts, tossing his stolen Evolite.

Kevin used Trick on Glacier Knight! (-12 Energy)
Kevin forced Glacier Knight to trade items with him!

The Ice Shard Necklace is hit out of Glacier Knight’s grasp, and hits the snow below as Glacier Knight fumbles the Evolite and manages to get a hold of it. Seeing an opportunity, Kevin dives for the Ice Shard Necklace, grasping it out of the snow and turns towards Articuno...

...who isn’t exactly pleased with the gift being snatched away from one who was about to give it to him.

Meanwhile, whispering commands, Frosty tells Gespenst to go and scout the Herdier Pack to the north of them.

Gespenst used Shadow Sneak! (-3 Energy)

Cutting through the space, the ghost manages to reach the mounds in one action, instead of the normal two, looking around in the hailstorm. He quickly notes that there are about ten Herdiers left, about five (non-combatant) Lilipups, and one...sleeping Stoutland.

Pack Leader: Stoutland

Herdier Pack Leader (Male Stoutland)
Nature: Raid Boss (+10% Accuracy)

Scrappy: Type: Innate
This Pokemon’s Normal and Fighting attacks carry a special signature that can damage Ghosts, even if they have phased out.
Fearful Presence: Type: Trait
This Poke’mon has survived many attempts to take over its position, and knows how to withstand and ignore status effects that would weaken or prevent its attacks. Furthermore, it can shake off any status effect, given enough time (6 actions). In addition, the Poke’mon’s presence is so strong that those in the aura (including the Poke’mon itself) are unable to perform combos.

...Yeah, you won’t be taking out this one alone anytime soon. You’ll need help. To boot, its at full health because of its sleep.

To make matters worse...

Herdier pack cut Gespenst’s Attack to as low as it can go! (-5 Attack)

How could one deal with the pack when they’re scared? At the very least, they haven’t noticed Gespenst yet... though their presence has made his attack worthless for now. Two of the Herdiers, both female, look aggressive, but the rest of the pack seem like they would back away for a bit if their leader was challenged.

Meanwhile, Frosty hides behind a tree.

Rain threatens to fall...
Hail continues to fall...
Aceladus is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)

Glacier Knight shouts out a quick command to Reika, but the Articuno decides it may be a nice idea to follow suit.

Articuno used Mist!
The Articuno was shrouded in mist!
The area as covered in a mist!

Why would one want to reduce the Articuno’s stat’s anyway? It’s already immune to stat drops!

With all her energy going down the drain rapidly, the Gardevior decides it may be a good time to recover some of it.

Keraia chilled! (+12 Energy)

A wise choice.

Meanwhile, Reika follows Glacier’s orders, trying to cover herself, and her copies, in mist...

Reika used Mist! (-6 Energy)
Reika was shrouded in mist!
The area was covered in fog!
The fog is deep... (Accuracy is *.75 of base)

A fog and hail within it? An Ice-type’s dream... assuming they have Blizzard, that is.

As the fog forms, Aceladus tries to aim at Glacier Knight, but with an inaccurate move, its quite possible he’ll miss, but if he hits, Glacier Knight could be out of the running...

Aceladus used Muddy Water on Glacier Knight! (-6 Energy)
Accuracy: 06025<06375=HIT
Crit: 05932<00625=NORMAL
Damage: (10+3+7.5-1.5)=19 Damage (33 Total)
...
GLACIER KNIGHT FAINTED!

And he’s out of here! A hit to KO a trainer!

Of course, being KOed is not quite the end of the game here... especially since there is a Poke'mon of Glacier's out right now. In the meantime, Glacier Knight falls to the ground out of the tree unconscious, the Evolite falling beside him, and the Herdier immediately grabs him, leaving the held item behind.

Herdier (3) dragged Glacier Knight northwards... (-5 Energy)

That probably won’t end well.

Meanwhile, Kevin decides to strike at one of the Herdiers... laying unconscious on the ground.

Kevin used Faint Attack on Herdier (2)! (-3 Energy)
Kevin is beating a KOed opponent...

Not the wisest of moves, but if it managed to survive the Focus Blast, it may have been finished off there.

Alexander decides it may be time to hide, and blend into the surroundings.

Alexander used Camouflage! (-8 Energy)
Alexander blended into his environment!

One way to get the adapted status, if one doesn’t get it normally. It will take some time to get himself adapted to the snow, though.

Meanwhile, Frosty has a plan in mind...

Frosty made a snowball. (-2 Energy)

Even if that plan is not one I’m completely aware of yet. He notices the Herdier dragging Glacier Knight his way, but it doesn’t seem to be paying attention to Frosty at the moment.

In the meantime, his ally Dusclops decides it may be a good idea to put a barrier up between himself and the many dogs.

Gespenst used Substitute! (-12 Energy)
Gespenst made a 15 HP substitute!

Probably a good idea, but we’ll see how things turn out...

Hail continues to fall...
Aceladus is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
Aceladus’s Water Stone restored health! (+1 Health)
Kevin is hurt by hail! (2 Damage)

Alexander was hurt by hail! (2 Damage)
The fog is deep... (4 Rounds)

Wild Herdier’s Attack fell and returned to normal! (-1 Attack)

With a trainer out cold, the tide of battle is shifting. Of course, he still has a Poke’mon out, so that could prove problemsome... especially for the one who knocked out the trainer or who has dragged the trainer away...
