Azurill @ Heart Scale
Bubble + Bubblebeam | Waterfall | Waterfall
If Cubone uses a successful Protective/Evasive (P/E) move, then use Water Gun and push back actions.

"For Azurill's first action, I'm using a combination, one of the unique aspects of our ASB. Combinations combine two moves in one action to create a powerful attack, often with special effects. For example, Bubble + Bubblebeam produce a 15 BAP move that will always lower the opponent's speed. However, combinations do have their drawbacks: they force the user to cool down on the next action, preventing it from moving, and they are susceptible to moves like Protect or Substitute. That's why I have my substitution to keep me from wasting a combination attack against a Protective/Evasive move, a class of moves that includes Protect and Detect. Pushing back actions means that if you use Detect on Action One, I'll use Water Gun on Action One and then Bubble + Bubblebeam on Action Two."

If Protect is used, replace your action with Focus Energy (once).

"I KOed my own Pokemon by depleting all of its energy through consecutive combinations. Consecutive combinations get really expensive in terms of EN. I actually just barely met the minimum EN requirement for the combination during Action 3, which is the cost of using the move twice, including the consecutive use penalty. Since I'd used it 3 times consecutively (combinations count as 2 uses), the minimum EN cost was 18 + 22 = 40, my exact EN. If I'd had even 1 EN less, the last combination would've failed. Now, I send out my next Pokemon and order."

Sneasel @ Heart Scale
Icicle Crash | Icicle Crash | Icicle Crash
[Nonconsecutive] If P/E, then Chill.
If Skull Bash and Cubone has more than 10 HP, then Fury Swipes.

"A note about my second substitution: if a multi-hit move like Fury Swipes or Rock Blast is used against an opponent who is charging up a move like Solar Beam or Skull Bash, the multi-hit attack will disrupt the attack, causing the opponent's move to fail."

If Dig used, use Barrier.

"Nice substitutions, but Counter is a much bigger threat than Dig or Taunt, allowing me to use your own strength against you to deal massive damage. A Counter substitution using a special move like Surf would've served you well. To make room for it, I'd get rid of your Taunt substitution and use Avalanche instead of Barrier in your Dig substitution (Dig does 8 damage, Avalanche does a little bit more than 7, so you really wouldn't be losing too much.)"

"Great job! I really didn't go easy on you here and you performed very well. It looks like you've already got a firm grasp on the basic mechanics of the game. In the future, you'll need to look out for other threatening or disruptive moves, like Encore, Torment, or Bide, which can ruin your strategies if you don't sub for them properly. You might also want to take a look in the ASB Players' Handbook and learn the damage formula, if you haven't done so already, as calculating the damage that your attacks and your opponents' attacks will do is pretty handy. Other than that, I'd say keep up the good work."

"Normally, I have new players wait a week or so before starting the second tutoring match to practice their skills, but since you already know the mechanics of this game pretty well, you can start it whenever you're ready."

"I hope you enjoyed our match and found ASB to be fun and engaging. Here are your rewards:"
