I was just going to say that. In my nuzlocke run he swept me with his god damn slowpoke. :L
I always remember the professors, probably because they always show up first. Also I think Red was the hardest NPC, I had to bring my level 60 team from Platinium to beat him in hgss. (Gyarados sweep.Hehe.)
That one chick NPC near the end of Rock Tunnel who goes "Let's play!" then "Now I am all sweaty!" or something along those lines.
Technology is incredible!
The scientist in Pokemon Platinum Galactic HQ who uses an X Sp. Atk on his Kadabra which knows Ice Punch which freezes Houndooms :(
The guys in the department store in D/P/P.
"What? Two buff guys standing next to each other. Nothing wrong with that"
RBY Misty was pretty impressive as a gym leader imo. I mean, it's your second Gym, you've got a piddling team of NFE pokemon, and your strongest moves against her is a 40 base power vine whip (maybe).
On the other side, she busts out a fully evolved OU special sweeper with a STAB base 60 attack coming from one of the best offensive types in the game, water. FUCK (the RBY animation for bubblebeam was simply epic to match)
If you were like me and had a team of 6 13-14 pokemon with no ivysaur on your first run (or frankly, even with ivysaur), you were like, FUUUUUCK!!!
In RBY: The old man who teaches you how to catch a Pokemon, in Viridian City. I mean, he was the opening for Missingno AND really needed some coffee. >_>
Overall: Definitely that one trainer in the Survival Zone in D/P/Pl. "Hello traveling trainer! Is your bag full of items, or is it full of dreams?" Never gets old.
In RBY, i have a few
Old man-who could forget the dude who made missingno possible?
Misty-I swear that Starmie was freakin hacked or somethin! Took me 12 tries to beat (with PIKACHU!)
Gary-I still remember my shock when i saw him as the champ...
Lorelei: A curse to beat in RB.
Giovanni: Who can forget the big boss?
The demoniac girls in Lavender Tower: Scary...
Lt.Surge: That bastard that took me a day to find that cursed switches
The man that gives you a Lapras in Silph: Thank you, man.
Whitney: If it wasn't Haunter's Curse...
Haircut Brothers: Made my Golbat and Blissey evolve.
Kimono Girls: The hardest NPC to beat in GSC.
The odd juggler: "Oops, dropped my balls".
Mediums at Ecruteak's gym: Scary too...
The man that gives you TM03 in Celadon: Gave me nightmares.
Wattson: That Magneton was hard to beat with Sceptile in RS.
Trick Master: Loved Him.
Winnona: Darn Altaria...
Wally: From nothing to something.
Steven Stone: That Metagross is the hardest pokémon to beat in RSE
Lucy: Darn Shuckle.
Brandon: The king of the trainers!
Rematch Norman: Three words: Serene Grace Slaking.
Hexmaniacs: That things are from the Devil.
The beauties of RSE: Hot.
The Deoxys's clones in Mystery Dungeon RB: FUCKING ANNOYING!
The guy *coughpedocough* outside of Celadon Gym in RBY.
I have to give Wally some support, fantastic coming of age story rolled into just a couple of battles. But in the end, I've got to throw my lot in withRival from GSC. (I always named him Rival, because I figured I wouldn't have learned his name.) He made the game more personal, because you actually "knew" one of the enemies. It was also interesting to see him turn from a snot-nosed brat to a guy who obviously had some self-esteem problems. I went from hating him to pitying him. He was the first video game character who I really connected with.
that's sort of...suggestive
No offense but I have alwyas found Lance pretty easy
im forced to agree, i ALWAYS had problems with that damned Miltank, nice to know im not the only one now
They removed him in HGSS :(((
Afro-Man in front of Cerulean Cave in RBY...best NPC..ever
RBY Misty, no doubt. It took me for-freaking-ever to get past that Starmie of hers. I even tried trading in an Articuno from a friend's game, and it beat me b/c Articuno wouldn't listen to me, lol. Eventually, I just gave up and rare candied leveled Butterfree to ~mid 30's range and handed Misty hers.
Bugsy comes in a close second in GSC and HG/SS. That Scyther had to be hacked, it took out my fucking Quilava. And don't even get me started on how hard it is to beat if you use Chikorita.
Rocket Grunts, duh...it seemed that even though they were typically all the same, they had their own personalities! And were often silly. Not only this, they were the best level-check in the game, aside from gyms. If you couldn't get past at least three without needing a Pokecenter, it was more than likely time to grind up a few levels, even if 90% of their damage was from being poisoned.
Lance was always hard to beat, and with each game, you're bound to forget to save in front of him, or in front of GARY FUCKING OAK/Blue and screw something up. (if you could save there in RBY...can't remember)
As awesome as GARY MOTHERFUCKING OAK/Blue/Rival can be, I always have a harder time with Lance, and therefore he's noteworthy of being my favorite in my book.
GARY GODDAMNMOTHERFUCKING OAK/Blue/Rival will always remembered from the feeling I get while looking upon his pokemon. His pokemon always looked scary, and most looked down on the player. Even the retarded sprite of Pidgeot was enough to wet my young pants a little.
Though he was easier than Lance (slightly), he had his own awesomness, aside from always being there to kick your ass when you thought he wasn't looking as you explored a new area or left.
"I'll beat you with the Magikarp my dad gave me!"
Bad news, kid. Your dad never loved you.
Whitney was ALWAYS a pain. EFFING MILTANK OHKOING QUILAVA!!!
Gotta give props to Fisherman Elliot in each game. He just WON'T SHUT UP. 99% of my calls are from him.
Then that girl in Rock Tunnel... "Don't try anything in the dark!"
And lastly, Master Roshi outside Celedon Gym.
But for pure epicness... it must be Sidney from RSE. I walked in there at one in the morning. He laughs at me. And BAM, I'm Intimidated. It was a great way to start the Elite Four.
And of course... Red/Blue in GSC. Blue was EPIC because you got to meet your rival, all grown up and mature. Then you battled him and saw how he'd changed. Then... Red. You walk in there and you see yourself. It's on.

MOJOMBO RULES HERE BIZNITCH!!!
Lance, the real Dragon master.
I've always liked Guitarist Kirk in Mauville's gym.
It was amazing ow long Whitney took to be mentioned:
"Here, let me take something which you have nope hope of killing quickly, only let you attack once every 5 turns and use Roll-Out and Super Potions until you entire team is destroyed" Oh. My. God.
And Misty. Yes, lets pit my level 13 Charmander (first evolution of a NU) against a level 20 Starmie (destroys about half of OU by itself, and has a SE STAB attack against you). Great one for the kiddies there.
ALL the male professors who send you off on a journey.
"Oh your mom's still single? GO CATCH EVERY SINGLE POKéMON"
