Best Shit V.2

Okay, this is not a team building guide, if you wanna learn how to build a team, there's a team building guide not to far away. This is just a little "guide" in which if you need to find a certain role, can help you out or inspire you. Also, there will NOT BE ANY EVs posted, because many different people have different reasonings behind EVs and whatnot, so you can refer to the Smogon Dex to get the "standard" EVs. There will however be a discription and in-depth role behind each Pokemon.

Rapid Spinners

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Surf
- Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/Psychic

This is probably one of the most popular rapid spinner, since it can probably hit the hardest and it's ability to instantly recover for more usage while also being able to be do some damaging. Of course, we have the obvious Rapid Spin+Recover, it's role. Surf should usually always be its first attacking move, however you could opt to use Psychic for STAB and one of the other special moves, but it's more ideal for you otherwise Tyranitar can have your way. The last move depends on what you want to beat. With Ice Beam, you beat Salamence, however, with Thunderbolt, you can potentially beat Waters one on one, such as Milotic. Psychic is if you feel you need to KO Heracross and Gengar. The reasoning why Starmie is so great as a Rapid Spinner is because Spikes Blocker, Dusclops and Gengar, will be taking in hefty damage by Surf.

Donphan (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Roar
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Possibly the second best Rapid Spinner, with it's ability to hit Dusclops and Gengar as well. Not only can he Rapid Spin, Donphan has tremendously great Defense making it a secondary back-up physical wall to things such as Salamence, Aerodactyl, as well as a great Dragon Dancing Tyranitar counter. You'd most likely want Earthquake and Hidden Power Rock, seeing as how those are the things that discourage Dusclops and Gengar. Roar is the only optional move. You could use Rest if you don't need a puesdo-hazer, but Roar can help you if you have your own Spikes or just need a puesdo-hazer.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam/Shadow Ball
- Rapid Spin
- Light Screen/Reflect/Explosion/Toxic

Another Rapid Spinner who can also defend. Most of it's attacks are in conjunction to it being able to accomplish it's goal of being able to Rapid Spin. Claydol also happens to be a good Tyranitar counter, so that's why it absolutely needs Earthquake. Ice Beam is to hit the Gengars who come in, in attempt to block it's Rapid Spin. The last move is really up for grabs. Light Screen and Reflect helps out the team as a whole. Explosion can be used in such circumstances after you have killed their Spikers. As for Shadow Ball+Toxic, which should be used on the same set if chosen, is for Gengar and Dusclops. Dusclops can't keep switching in if it's eating Toxic Poison while Shadow Ball would do more to Gengar then Ice Beam would.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes

Incredible defense. This is however a two-trick pony, being able to Rapid Spin AND Spikes. This isn't as popular since it gives quite a lot of Pokemon the opportunity to set up on it. Some people use this over Skarmory since it can scare off Magneton with it's Earthquake, and also has the ability to take attacks better seeing as how it does have higher Hit Points.

Spikers

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Spikes
- Substitute/Rest
- Whirlwind

The most seen Spiker due to it's ability to take phsyical punishment all day long. Substitute is on the set for those who don't want to be trapped immediately by Magneton and might also block slower Rapid Spinners. Whirlwind is used over Roar due to the fear of Baton Passing teams, since they usually have Soundproof Pokemon, however it's still useless if they have already Ingrained. You might ask why Hidden Power Flying and not Drill Peck. Well it's because if you're using Whirlwind, it's legally impossible to obtain Drill Peck on the same moveset.

Cloyster (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shell Armor
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin/Explosion
- Spikes
- Surf/Explosion

The only "standard" Spiker that doesn't get trapped by Magneton. It also has the ability to beat the other 2 Spikers one on one, if needed. This is another two trick pony, being able to Rapid Spin and Spikes. Although it has ridiculously high Defense, it's not as able of a phsyical absorber due to it's subpar Hit Points and horrible typing. It does pack more of a punch then the others however.

Special Attackers

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
- Hidden Power [Grass/Ice]
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunderbolt

Has good speed and amazing Special attack. Although it doesn't have the best defensive stats, it's still offensively defensively good, if you can understand that. Zapdos's great typing allows it to resist many things and able to switch in a lot, such as Meteor Mashes, Earthquake, and Flying attacks. This is a good recipient of Calm Mind passes. Choosing whether or not you want to use Grass or Ice on your Hidden Power depends if you want to beat Flygon and Dragons and Celebi or Swampert. If you're getting Calm Mind boosts, Ice is the better choice since it'll eventually beat Swampert without taking much damage.

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
- Ice Punch
- Thunderbolt
- Giga Drain/Explosion/Hypnosis/Fire Punch/Substitute/Fous Punch/Shadow Ball
- Giga Drain/Explosion/Hypnosis/Fire Punch/Substitute/Fous Punch/Shadow Ball

This is one of the most unpredictable Pokemon known to Poke-kind. Those are normally the only two gurantee moves to find on Gengar, Ice Punch and Thunderbolt, however sometimes not both will be used. Giga Drain is usable if you're having Swampert problems. Explosion can pack a punch in the case you need to take something out. Hypnosis makes it a sleeper, which is without a doubt always useful. Fire Punch is if you feel you need to hit Heracross and Metagross harder. Substitute and Focus Punch can be used together or separetly, but it allows it to beat Blisseys and Snorlaxes. Shadow Ball is just a good STAB move despite it's low attack stat.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
- Crunch
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

Stall breaker. 101 Subs beats Blissey.

Raikou @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Grass/Ice]
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

It's self explanitory.

Alakazam @ Leftovers/Lum Berry
Trait: Synchronize
- Calm Mind
- Fire Punch
- Psychic
- Thunderpunch/Ice Punch/Hidden Power [Water]

Although it's not used as much as others, it can still be a force to reckon with. It's quite self explanitory.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Substitute/Wish
- Thunderbolt

With Substitute that take 101 damage, this thing has the ability few other special attackers can claim, the ability to beat Blissey. Along with Serene Grace, this is a dangerous Pokemon, able to paralyze at a decent rate, along with special defensive drops. However if you don't want to take the Substitute route, Wish can work for the benefit of Jirachi and the whole team. If Snorlax is running Shadow Ball, it will lose to Jirachi. Actually, Jirachi is probably the only all special attacking with no phsyical attacks that can beat Blissey and Snorlax.

Special Absorbers

Regice @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
- Ice Beam
- Psych Up
- Rest
- Thunderbolt

Its ability to Psych Up is what makes it so good to go along with it's massive Special Defense. Psych Up is needed in order to beat the Raikous, which also after you do, you'll have highly boosted Regice to boot. If Suicune doesn't have Roar, Regice will also prevail over it.

Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake/Shadow Ball
- Rest
- Sleep Talk/Curse

It can take special attacks all day long as well as dish back twice the pact to the same Pokemons. You have Earthquake or Shadow Ball depending if you want to beat Jirachi, Tyranitar, Metagross or, Gengar. If you don't want it to be a sleep absorber, it can also Curse and set up, making it one of the most feared last Pokemon. Not an ideal match up for most Pokemons one on one.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
- Aromatherapy
- Seismic Toss
- Softboiled
- Thunder Wave

It carries over it's same role from GSC to RS. It can sit and take special attacks all day long, and then some. It's quite the support Pokemon, just hope you don't face another one too, or it's a stall fest. Pretty much a safe switch into all special attackers.

Phsyical Absorber

Swampert (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
- Earthquake
- Hydro Pump/Surf
- Ice Beam
- Roar/Rest/Curse/Protect

Of course, it doesn't have excellent defense, but it's typing and attacking ability makes it a great Pokemon none the less as a bulky water. This is usually a team's only counter and stands in the way of a Salamence, Tyranitar, Aerodactyl, or Metagross sweep. Roar is useable if you want to scare something out. You can use Rest, if you want to reuse it and feel if you can survive with it sleeping two turns or have a Heal Beller/Aromatherapist. Curse boosts your attack and defense, and potential sweep. Protect was more used for the fact of Metagross exploding on it at sight.

Milotic (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Marvel Scale
- Hypnosis
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Surf

Another Pokemon without excellent defense, but it's trait is uncanny and near broken. If you can switch this into a Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave, you have better defense then even Skarmory and Weezing. Not to mention, with it's ability to constantly Recovering, it can take quite a lot of punishment, especially with it's 286 Special Defense WITHOUT any Effort Values. Nice Hit Points to go along with the defenses.

Weezing (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
- Will-O-Wisp
- Haze
- Pain Split
- Sludge Bomb

What a dramatic turn from GSC to RS. This thing at times seems to never die with it's ability to Pain Split to easily recover back Hit Points. What also makes it so great is due to it's many phsyical resistences, such as Fighting, Bug and immunity to Ground. It also has that rare ability to Burn Pokemon at will. Haze makes sure that a last Pokemon Snorlax will never sweep you.

Phsyical Attackers

Salamence (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Rock Slide/Fire Blast

It's self explanitory. The only remotely hard part of using this is whether or not you want to beat Aerodactyl and Zapdos or Skarmory.

Tyranitar (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Taunt

Also quite self explanitory. Just set up a Dragon Dance or two and you usually have the advantage.

Medicham (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Pure Power
- Brick Break
- Fake Out
- Rock Slide
- Shadow Ball

It just hits hard, and it hurts a lot, and no one likes to see it.

Heracross (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Guts
- Brick Break
- Facade/Sleep Talk/Focus Punch
- Megahorn
- Rock Slide

There is no 100% way to kill this thing unless you sacrifice something first for Dugtrio to come out, and if they don't have a Dugtrio, pair this thing up with a Magneton and you potentially sweep an entire team build around this monster. Facade is more filler while Focus Punch is more for prediction. Sleep Talk is there in case you needed a Sleep Absorber, which also means Hera gets 831~ attack while sleeping btw. If you see him, just pray for the best.

Aerodactyl (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Rock Head
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Rock Slide

With it's uncanny speed, you almost always have a chance to win with this Pokemon. It's like the equivelent of a last Pokemon Tauros in RBY, it can hack it's way to victory with it's STAB'd Rock Slides.

Salamence (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Intimidate
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Rock Slide
- (Fire Blast/Flamethrower)/Brick Break

Argubly one of the best CB'er there is. It's fast (299). It's strong (605). And it has a great movepool plus a great trait(Intimidation). With some Wish support, this is one of the easiest things to switch in and greatly hurt something. In fact, it's so dangerous that if you can even get out one layer of Spikes, it can defeat 2 of it's most common switchins, Swampert and Milotic.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Taunt/Hydro Pump/Double-Edge

This isn't used as much, due to obvious counters, Zapdos, Skarmory, Aerodactyl, but the last move allows you to get away from that. This can be a gamebreaking Pokemon.

Metagross @ Leftovers/Choice Band
Trait: Clear Body
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
- Agility/Thunderpunch/Rock Slide/Shadow Ball/Sludge Bomb

This is an absolute monster. With Agility it can sweep. With Thunderpunch, it can disable Skarmory. With Rock Slide, you're able to kill Zapdos easier. Shadow Ball is more of a filler, as well as Sludge Bomb. However, becareful with Choice Band, sure it can hit hard, but it can be easily stopped by Magneton.

Dugtrio (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Arena Trap
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Rock Slide

Sacrifice and kill. Rinse and repeat. Not much to it.

There's also many Normals who you can just stick a Choice Band on and wreck havoc seeing as how they're generally all fast and have the simliarly the same movepool (Slaking,Tauros, Dodrio).

Baton Passers

Ninjask (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Speed Boost
- Baton Pass
- Silver Wind
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

One of the easiest Baton Passers to use due to instant speed, however with so many counters around, you might want to pack a Magneton and some other Anti-Weezing/Suicune Pokes. It also has decent attack if you need a super fast Pokemon to finish off a weakened sweeper.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
- Baton Pass
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

Probably the best Baton Passer there is due to it's mobility and ability to get in into other Pokes easily as well as scaring off common Phazers. Not to mention it can pack a punch. With common Roarers being weak to Zapdos, (Suicune, Skarmory) it can just do whatever it wants.

Jolteon @ Leftovers
Trait: Volt Absorb
- Baton Pass
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

Basically the same thing as Zapdos, but it has the speed to set up faster.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
- Baton Pass
- Calm Mind/Swords Dance
- Psychic/Shadow Ball
- Recover

It can pretty much Pass effectively as well as wall. You can build teams around this, a special attacking team or a phsyical attacking team. It works quite well in conjunction with Magneton, being able to Baton Pass on the switch to Skarmory once they see you're trying to boost.

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
- Baton Pass
- Ice Beam/wish
- Substitute/Wish
- Surf

100+ Subs anyone? It can also serve as a Bulky Water if you need one.

Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
- Baton Pass
- Mean Look
- Taunt
- Wish

Pull this off and you can potentially sweep a team. However Hera's could cause problems, but if you know it's not CB'd, pass to a DDMence and just x6 Dragon Dance if you can and you esentially win. Works for a lot of things like that. Also an indirect way of beating Skarmory if you pass it off to say Zapdos or something.

yeah, the dex pretty much covers it but it can be handy sometimes for newer players...

Well, I'm really bored so I read the entire thing and wrote down a bunch of insiginificant corrections/errors/suggestions. I'm going to abbreviate a lot, but the abbreviations aren't suggestions.

Donphan said:

Physical is spelled wrong, and the end part is a run-on. It should either say "such as mence, Aerodactyl, and DD Tyranitar." or "such as Salamence and Aerodactyl, as well as a great DD Tyranitar counter"

Claydol: Rest?

Skarmory said:
it's legally impossibly to optain Drill Peck on the same moveset.
Cloyster said:

The first it's should be "it has", "as an able" should be "as able of a" or something like that.

Gengar said:

Jirachi said:

Regice said:

It's -> its, take out "be able to"

Normal CBers said:

Probably should say "have a similar" or something like that

Celebi said:

Sorry for being annoying about grammar mistakes. :(

apparently i think i'm funny when i copy and paste the exact link when i know i have to pick the generation and pokemon. hell i'm even as smart as this duder:

Reflect as an option on Raikou to beat Snorlax 1 on 1. Encore and Trick as options on Alakazam to beat other Calm Minders/Special Sweepers. Ice Beam as an option over Thunder Wave on Blissey to beat Dugtio and continue walling. Toxic on Swampert and Milotic beat other Bulky waters usually.
