Blissey, beware the leech seed (first OU warstory)

Hi there !

So it's my first warstory here. I'm always open to critics (if they're justified).

My team may be seen as a strange team but I like this kind of team. Either I play stall completely or I play this. I'm also the kind of person who hate to be lock into a choice... (I need it sometimes but if I can avoid it, I do it).

So, this is my team

I'm against distraktion.

My pokemon will be in blue
Dristraktion pokemon will be red
My comments will be in italics
So, here are the rules of this battle.

Ladder match
Sleep clause
Freeze clause
OHKO clause
Evasion clause
Species clause
Strict damage clause

---------------------------------------------------------------

lirg sent out Ptera (lvl 100 Aerodactyl).
distraktion sent out Infernape (lvl 100 Infernape).
Ptera is exerting its pressure!

100
100

So this is the opponent's lead. This time I'm not going to put my entry hazards
easily. Decided to not lose my focus sash because of Fake Out. I decided to
switch to my Gengar.

TURN 1 :
lirg switched in Ectoplasma (lvl 100 Gengar).
Infernape used Fake Out.
It doesn't affect Ectoplasma...

100
100

It goes as I predict it. Now that my Gengar was here, let him be useful...

TURN 2 :
Ectoplasma used Shadow Ball.
A critical hit!
Infernape lost 100% of its health.
Infernape hung on using its Focus Sash!
Ectoplasma lost 10% of its health.
Infernape used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!

90
01

Oh no, already a critical hit, you will say... This one isn't very useful. If I
didn't crit, he'd be in low health and can be KO by everything that do
damage on him. On the other side, Infernape put his rocks too.
Although my team doesn't mind particulary SR (my team isn't
made to switch a lot), it's still annoying.

TURN 3 :
distraktion switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey).
Ectoplasma used Shadow Ball.
It doesn't affect Blissey...

90
100

Why did I do the same attack ? Because I didn't expect that he save his
Infernape. But it's Blissey. The best special wall of the game. With my team
nearly full of special sweeper, Blissey is a major threat. At this time, I had
to know how to deal with it... I have Infernape who OHKO it without problem,
but distraktion is still free to switch on everything. I had enough lost my
Infernape with useless switch. So I decided to do something that I'll regret
later.

TURN 4 :
Ectoplasma used Focus Blast.
It's super effective!
Blissey lost 42% of its health.
Ectoplasma lost 10% of its health.
Blissey used Thunder Wave.
Ectoplasma is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

80
64

Obviously a timid Gengar can't 2HKO with Focus Blast.
Maybe a choice spe modest, but a timid life orb, never. So, Blissey use this to
inflict paralysis to Gengar and make him useless. Now, either I switch or
I continue to attack hoping for spd loss to 2HKO it. Let see what I do...

TURN 5 :
distraktion switched in Forretress (lvl 100 Forretress).
Ectoplasma used Focus Blast.
Ectoplasma's attack missed!

80
100

My opponent switched on Foretress. Obviously, I miss my Focus Blast.
But, it wasn't too important for me because, at this moment, only one idea is in
my mind... It's a spike team... In the past, I had already lost to a spikes team
that I realized too late that it was one. This time, I didn't want to do again
the same mistake. Here, I was obliged to switch.

TURN 6 :
lirg switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran).
Pointed stones dug into Heatran.
Heatran lost 12% of its health.
Forretress used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

87
100

One layer has been put already. But, I was sure that he only put one layer for
the moment. Even if my opponent wasn't so dumb to let my Heatran do a fire
attack on Foretress, I decided to use flamethrower (I hate to miss things)
to punish him if he stayed.

TURN 7 :
distraktion switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey).
Heatran used Flamethrower.
A critical hit!
Blissey lost 37% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

87
33

Obviously,my opponent switched and Blissey is back. The crit absolutely
useless because without crit, I only 6HKO Blissey. Softboiled and its health is
back. So, again, I must choose on who switch... Locked into flamethrower
against Blissey isn't the key to win. Infernape was still the best solution, but I
didn't know at this time all the distraktion team and no one had lost one poke
at this time. I decided to switch ...

TURN 8 :
lirg switched in Shaymin (lvl 100 Shaymin).
Pointed stones dug into Shaymin.
Shaymin lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin was hurt by Spikes!
Shaymin lost 12% of its health.
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 50% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

75
89

As I said, the crit was now useless thanks to Softboiled. Why did I put Shaymin ?
It's a special version (I'm not sure that it's possible to do a physical version).
Seed flare only 4HKO it (without spd loss). It's because of Leech seed (now you
understand the title). If it does only 12,5% to Blissey, Shaymin recover more
than a quarter of its life (thanks to the astronomic hp that Blissey have).
And Shaymin don't fear too much paralysis thanks to its ability. So...

TURN 9 :
Shaymin used Leech Seed.
Blissey was seeded!
Blissey used Thunder Wave.
Shaymin is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 25% of its health.

100
83

My opponent decided to paralyse my Shaymin. It let me recover from the
damage from entry hazard (25% already). Now I had to choose what should
I do. Switch ? Too painful... My team isn't made to switch too often and see
the poke I choose take 25 % with the entry hazard and take after the attack,
I wasn't sure that even someone in my team can handle that. So I stay...

TURN 10 :Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Shaymin lost 29% of its health.
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Blissey lost 26% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 26% of its health.

87
51

Now, I see the attack of Blissey. It isn't ice beam and it was a relief.
Shaymin, with the help of the leech seed, nearly restored all the damage taken
by the seismic toss. Seed flare didn't do a spd loss but at the end of the turn,
Blissey had already taken more than 30 of its life, always risking
this damn spd loss. So I continued...

TURN 11 :
distraktion switched in Forretress (lvl 100 Forretress).
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
It's not very effective...
Forretress lost 28% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.

77
72

Switch for my opponent. He didn't want to see his Blissey lost because of
leech seed... (Blissey lost more life than me in the process) So, I had to deal
again with a spike layer. But this time, I had already a guy to deal with it.

TURN 12 :
Forretress used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!
Shaymin used Hidden Power.
It's super effective!
Forretress lost 72% of its health.
distraktion's Forretress fainted.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.

67
KO

6-5

I forgot that Shaymin was paralyzed... A second layer was laid.
Now it's more than 30 % on every switches (except Aerodactyl). But now,
Foretress is down. HP fire is enough to deal with it.

TURN 13 :
distraktion switched in Manectric (lvl 100 Manectric).
lirg switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran).
Pointed stones dug into Heatran.
Heatran lost 12% of its health.
Heatran was hurt by Spikes!
Heatran lost 19% of its health.
Manectric used Flamethrower.
Heatran's Flash Fire raised its fire power!

56
100

Manetric... It was obvious that he had flamethrower or overheat...
If not, why did he send me it. So the switch was as well obvious.
Switch on Heatran. My flash fire absorb the attack.
But now that I'm with Heatran, what can I do ? Earth Power ?
It was too obvious for me... A powerful flamethrower ?
The next move I will use, I'm not proud of it, but it unlock the situation
where I was...

TURN 14 :
distraktion switched in Gyarados (lvl 100 Gyarados).
Gyarados's Intimidate cut Heatran's attack!
Heatran used Explosion.
Gyarados lost 91% of its health.
lirg's Heatran fainted.

KO
09

5-5

This famous explosion. At this time, I didn't know what was the last
pokemon of distraktion. He can switch on Rotom or Gengar and I had
sacrified my Heatran for nothing. At this time, the only thing that I thought,
it was that I had a lot of chances that he switched on Blissey. I didn't think
about Gyarados who take nothing on Earth Power. But for me, it was a
good thing. Because, if a Gyarados used successfully a DD, I'm dead.
Now, Gyarados was RK by everything. To be sure to not see again Gyarados,
I send Aerodactyl. If it was brave enough to switch, I'd use SR to make sure
that it'd never come back (even with the help of a wish)

TURN 15 :
lirg switched in Ptera (lvl 100 Aerodactyl).
Ptera is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Ptera.
Ptera lost 25% of its health.
Ptera used Rock Slide.
It's super effective!
Gyarados lost 9% of its health.
distraktion's Gyarados fainted.

75
KO

5-4

Ouch, this damned rocks began to hurt me a lot. Gyarados now KO,
I feel a little relieved. One big thing (that can be sweep my entire team) down.
Now, I wait the next pokemon.

TURN 16 :distraktion switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine).
lirg switched in Staross (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Staross.
Staross lost 12% of its health.
Staross was hurt by Spikes!
Staross lost 18% of its health.
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
It's not very effective...
Staross lost 20% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.

49
90

Here is the last pokemon of distraktion.
But it isn't a pokemon that I deal easily with Aerodactyl...
Ice shard... I don't want to lose stupidly my Aerodactyl on this.
So I decided to switched on something that be doesn't be hurt too much
by the ice shard... Starmie. But, if the ice shard (the more powerful of the OU)
did only 20 % on me, entry hazards was still here. I lost the half of Starmie's life.
Enough is enough, I needed to rapid spin all of this... It was too painful.

TURN 17 :
distraktion switched in Blissey (lvl 100 Blissey).
Staross used Rapid Spin.
Staross blew away the pointed stones!
Staross blew away the spikes!
Blissey lost 4% of its health.
Staross lost 10% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.

39
53

Blissey, I had almost forgot it... But Starmie get its job done. at this moment,
I could switch when I wanted without taking this load of damage. Obviously,
Blissey didn't feel anything and restored even more life than I make it lose.
So, again, I was against the pink blob. Keep Starmie mean only one thing,
make suicide the star with its own life orb. So switch... I let you guess who...

TURN 18 :
lirg switched in Shaymin (lvl 100 Shaymin).
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 47% of its health.

67
100

I had a feeling of deja vu... As I say my mother, everything is an
eternal repetition. Obviously, leech seed was essential before do something else.

TURN 19 :
Shaymin used Leech Seed.
Blissey was seeded!
Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Shaymin lost 29% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 26% of its health.

64
87

This time, Distraktion thought that it's not worth to paralyzed my shaymin
as seen as it can heal of its statut while I'm switching. But, the turn was
more painful for Blissey than for me...

TURN 20 :
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Blissey lost 27% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.
Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Shaymin lost 29% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 26% of its health.

51
54

It begins, the war between Shaymin and Blissey. The only solution for us was
to let these two fight until one was KO. No one truly can switch without taking
so many damages that let the opponent have an advantage. So I was
spamming Seed Flare hoping this damn spd loss which take a long time
to come.

TURN 21 :
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Blissey lost 30% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.
Blissey used Softboiled.
Blissey restored 50% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 26% of its health.

67
68
TURN 22 :
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Shaymin's attack missed!

64
62

A miss... I had prefered a spd loss...

TURN 23 :
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Blissey lost 26% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.

51
29
TURN 24 :
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
Blissey lost 27% of its health.
Shaymin lost 10% of its health.
Blissey used Seismic Toss.
Shaymin lost 29% of its health.
Blissey's leftovers restored its health a little!
Blissey restored 6% of its health.
Blissey's health was sapped by leech seed!
Blissey lost 8% of its health.
distraktion's Blissey fainted.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 16% of its health.

28
KO

5-3

At least ! I succeeded to take down Blissey... Was it a miscalculation of the
remaining hp of Blissey ? In any case, at this moment, Shaymin didn't
have a lot of Seed flare anymore (and no spd loss on 7 attacks...
Not even 6% that it can happen...) Now, it was the last pokemons
of distraktion, but not least.

TURN 25 :
distraktion switched in Manectric (lvl 100 Manectric).
lirg switched in Ptera (lvl 100 Aerodactyl).
Ptera is exerting its pressure!
Manectric used Flamethrower.
It's not very effective...
Ptera lost 21% of its health.

54
100

Manetric again... The goal of my team is to predict everything... To hit
on the switch and avoid taking too much damage on the switch as seen as
the def of the most of my team. So I predicted a flamethrower...
And the best to take that was Aerodactyl. (I know that Infernape would may
be better but I thought about super effective move instead of resistances
against another attack). So the next move was evident.

TURN 26 :
Ptera used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Manectric lost 100% of its health.
distraktion's Manectric fainted.

54
KO

5-2

Earthquake is a powerful attack, you don't think so ?

TURN 27 :
distraktion switched in Mamoswine (lvl 100 Mamoswine).
lirg switched in Ectoplasma (lvl 100 Gengar).
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
Ectoplasma lost 59% of its health.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.

21
80

Now, that's Mamoswine who came back... I didn't want that my aerodactyl
be KO by ice shard, so I made a death fodder... So who can be the best choice...
Gengar obviously. Parlyzed, it didn't do something interesting.
So it took theice shard on the switch putting him in low life. I choose an
attack (surely Focus blast) but without thinking that it could survive next turn.

TURN 28 :
Mamoswine used Ice Shard.
A critical hit!
Ectoplasma lost 21% of its health.
lirg's Ectoplasma fainted.
Mamoswine lost 10% of its health.

KO
70

4-2

Third useless critical hit... Gengar is now KO (I consider already him as KO
as seen as he was paralyzed) Now, I must choose the next poke...
I think that Starmie will be the best choice. only 20 % on ice shard.

TURN 29 :
lirg switched in Staross (lvl 100 Starmie).
Staross used Surf.
It's super effective!
Mamoswine lost 70% of its health.
distraktion's Mamoswine fainted.
Staross lost 10% of its health.

30
KO

4-1

It remained only one pokemon to distraktion. I thought that victory was nearby.

TURN 30 :
distraktion switched in Infernape (lvl 100 Infernape).
Infernape used Fake Out.
A critical hit!
Staross lost 30% of its health.
lirg's Staross fainted.

KO
01

3-1

Good bye Staross. You'll be noting that's the fourth critical hit,
still useless... (maybe less than the other but still)

TURN 31 :
lirg switched in Simiabraz (lvl 100 Infernape).
Simiabraz used Mach Punch.
Infernape lost 0% of its health.
distraktion's Infernape fainted.
lirg wins!

90
KO

3-0

The last turn and only now the appearance of Infernape to finish the job...

Distraktion's team :

Props :
- Shaymin was the star of this battle. KOing two stallers by himself.

- Make some good predictions which help me to pass thorough.

- Luckily, I didn't revome Rapid spin from Starmie as I count to do before because I found that it was useless. Without that, I didn't probably won this match.

- I had luck on the explosion. One ghost and it was a suicide.

Slops :
- Infernape didn't have some real action.

- The end of the match wasn't as hectic than the rest of the battle.

PS : My team is named OU speed (I had an UU speed, so it's to differenciate these two ones). If it looks like a poor team made in 30 seconds, it isn't the case. If the principle of the team seems easy, in action, it's more complicated... Because, you can't (in the majority of cases) take a powerful hit without fainting even if it wasn't super effective. So this team need a lot of prediction, more than the ones who aren't speed team as I call it. One mistake or misprediction and all the team can be blow away. I know too the weaknesses of my team. The best counter is Flygon scarf. I need to wait until his/her user made a mistake or that I sweep the rest of his/her team. Like this I can RK it easily (besides I consider every idea which help me to deal with Flygon, as much as it stay in the optical of my team) All dragon dancer as fast as Gyarados jolly blow away too the team, if they place their dd. Finally, special sponge are hard for me to calm down, but not impossible.

I stopped reading after you switched Heatran out from Blissey; you could've KO'd her with Flamethrower right there.

Ice-eyes

Simper Fi
I stopped reading after you switched Heatran out from Blissey; you could've KO'd her with Flamethrower right there.
I stopped reading because Heatran would have needed a second crit to do so.

Seriously, the battle wasn't all that good although the comments weren't too bad content-wise (assuming English isn't your first language). It wasn't close, there weren't many really exceptional plays and it was a pretty straightforward victory.

Not without another crit, he couldn't - allowing blissey to softboiled/wish back up to health. Overall, seemed fairly average - he certainly shouldn't have allowed Blissey to be leeched to death.

edit: ninja'd on the flamethrower crit

When he said "Lets see what I do next" it came off as amateurish and, sadly, showed his inability to make a gripping story. Suggestion: read more good war stories, it'll help :D.

It was.. eh. I didn't see any real excellence or anything special that would make it warstory worthy.
And your comment like this

" f***** I forgot that Shaymin was paralyzed... One more layer was layed.
Now it's more than 30 % on every switches (except Aerodactyl). But now,
Foretress is down. HP fire is enough to deal with it. "

this comment doesn't make sense. regardless if you switched or stayed.. a 2nd layer was going to be laid. Yes you were dumb and forgot Shaymin was paralyzed.. but it didn't matter. Trying to make it more intense? idk.

Ah, shit. Was skimreading. Now I look like a total ass >_>

I don't know what the hell your opponent was doing when he let you Leech Seed him to death. Your Seed Flare spam should have landed a SPDef drop, where Blissey would have needed to switch out anyway. Overall, pretty average. I assume English isn't your first language, so I'll ignore the comments some, but there was no real suspense here. it was very clear that you were going to win when he didn't switch Bliss out of Leech Seed. Better luck next time dude.

Well, if Shaymin wasn't paralyzed, it woulda OHKO'd Forry before it could Spike.

Not sure if your grammatical ability is to be questioned, or if English is in fact your primary language.

It was hard to follow at points. Such as :

"I had enough lost my
Infernape with useless switch. So I decided to do something that I'll regret
later."

Despite the questionable grammar this still was not the most entertaining read. Some bad moves all around, however formatting wise you did a decent job. For a first anyways.

Thanks for your answers. English isn't my first language. If I understand it correctly, I have some difficulties to write it. If I don't say it, it was to see how bad I write in English. (I like that people be frank with me)

About my warstory...
I know that it isn't so exciting, especially when I read it again. Some mistakes I did (my opponent too). When I used explosion, a correct spikes team user would be switching for a ghost. Same thing about rapid spin.

About the police, I didn't know that when I chose the police, this would be so huge. I can try to fix it immediately.

About my English... You can correct me, if I made grammar mistakes. I know that my English isn't perfect, I try to improve it. Next year, I'd probably write a dissertation for school in English. So, I must improve my writing in English.

And the next time, I swear that I'll choose a more exciting battle.

i enjoyed reading it, but it could have been more exciting. the big font was sort of annoying, though. also i'm not sure why you kept wasting seed flare's pp instead of going to aero or something after it was clear he had no rock resist. you could even have just used hp fire till he ran out of hp since you don't lose any hp every turn.

I actually liked it a little, it just kinda needed to be more of a battle instead of you just killing him. Like a suprising story. Instead, this was just a flat 3-0.

You look like a decent battler, but your opponent was maladroit, and his team was poorly constructed. Next time, please warstory a battle against a competent foe.

I felt you had momentum the whole match. Liked your comments, your team was good. But the battle itself wasn't the best. Still good first attempt

It was hard to follow at points. Such as :

"I had enough lost my
Infernape with useless switch. So I decided to do something that I'll regret later."

I understand that you don't understand these sentences. In fact, even if I said it in my first language, I'm pretty sure that people who can read it cannot understand it. When I wrote it, I thought that I said something about that later. But I forgot... :p I'm going to explain more or less what I mean by this. Blissey is something that my team can't normally Ko easily. So, in my previous battle, I send directly my Infernape. But, obviously, the counter of Infernape came immediately and I lost often my Infernape. So this time, to avoid this, I decided to switch on Shaymin and keep Infernape for later, for the moment I know that he(or it... In my language, there is no equivalent of the word "it") can't be countered.

About the switch I could do. Aerodactyl wasn't the best choice... Because, even his better attack (rock slide) do less than seed flare. Jolly with focus sash, he's just good to KO pokemons enough weakened. But, I could switch on Infernape at this time. No one in his team could at this time endure a close combat.

The battle itself wasn't that good but the comment where decent (English isn't my first language as well so I understand some grammar mistakes you made). Anway, good enough for a first warstory (you'll get better over time) ^^

Hmm, not too bad at all. I agree with everyone else that he battle wasn't the best, but you had momentum all the way through. I think that you took out Blissey only because your opponent isn't that good. He should have switched.

Also, your English isn't that bad. I understood it and it was quite interesting. Nice job.

It was a okay warstory i guess...The format was pretty good but the match wasnt too entertaining and there was some bad plays from both sides...For a first time its not bad i guess...Gl if you decide to make another ^,^

You played fairly well however the battle was uninteresting at best. I won't fault you on the grammar because it's evident that English is your second language. If you do another warstory try and do it on a more interesting battle. Good luck.

Ectoplasma used Focus Blast.
It's super effective!
Blissey lost 42% of its health.
Not sure why you thought it'd be a good idea to keep Gengar in against Blissey hoping to actually have a chance of beating it with a 70% acc move that can't even 2hko. As you might imagine I stopped reading right here. There was just too much dumb stuff like switching aero out to gengar in the first place when you couldve just got up sr and got rid of ape's sash.

Nice attempt for a first warstory, just try to find a more interesting battle to use next time.
