Deadline for cores for this Round is 4pm EST 28th April. Good luck!

Well for a team without a dark resist, it fares fairly well vs Yveltal in a vacuum but this team is sadly super weak to Lunala as well due to not having a ghost resist either. Every good team in Ubers needs a ghost resist and I don't really care about any argument trying to defend this. It is far too easy to get around teams with something like specs Lunala, especially if they are slow like this one.

This team should certainly run a Blissey over Kyogre to fix these problems but as it stands I would say the combination of Yveltal and Lunala is almost an idiot proof way to beat this team (in reality you would maybe not even need Yveltal but for the sake of posting a core that's actually somewhat OK I included it).

There are several ways Yveltal+Lunala can be fitted onto teams but the truth is it doesn't matter much what sets the core chooses, the team will be weak to the combination almost always. Webs can employ taunt Yveltal+CM Z move Lunala, balance can go with uturn Yvelal +specs Lunala, offense can do specs yveltal+z hypnosis lunala... There are many options here and when well played they should all work.

Arceus @ Grassium Z
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Grass Knot
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam

Right now this guy is more relevant than ever in my eyes, due to the increased prevalence of Groundceus, Zygarde and Tyranitar to name a few. The effectiveness of this pokemon of course lies within its movepool; as it can easily take out 5 of the mons above, on a 1v1 scenario

Make sure the combination of Pokemon you've submitted, have viable sets and can also present itself as the backbone for a well-constructed team.
I don't think the core you've submitted follows the rules stated in the OP. The Arceus-Grass set is a gimmick and the Pokemon itself struggles to fit in a well-constructed team. Sorry but I'm going to have to reject this.
You're more than welcomed to try again though!

Arceus-Ground @ Groundium Z
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Recover
- Swords Dance

Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Spikes
- Icicle Spear
- Rapid Spin

Cloyster provides Arceus-Ground with spikes, a way to help gain chip damage on this team. With patience and some good chip damage, arceus-ground can set up on a switching ho-oh or groudon, and proceed to sweep. Without a solid ground resist, the only decent check to Arceus-Ground is Zygarde, which gets bopped by a +2 Tectonic rage after spikes. Recover gives Arceus-ground more sweeping potential against a very bulky team, letting arceus-ground easily beat the opposing arceus-ground because ice beam cannot 2hko. Fast mons such as MMY or Mega-Gengar work especially well with this core, they can clean up after arceus has already broken the team or help chip away at the team.

Alright so this is my core for this time:

Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Precipice Blades
- Lava Plume
- Roar

Kyogre @ Blue Orb
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 64 HP / 116 Def / 252 SpA / 76 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Origin Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Thunder

Easy core, not much to explain. The key to this core is to switch in and out at the right moment.

Pogre is the main guy here. It can take care of ho-oh, zygarde-c, groundceus pretty well, and pdon too if rain is out. The evs added to pogre r such that it can take a few hits from physical mons.

Pdon in turn takes care of the rest of the team, that is, ferrothorn and pogre. Lava plume does intense damage to ferro and precipice blades does damage to pogre even in rain.

Both the mons help to lure its counter/check, so switching in at the right time is very important here.

Another good mon which can really do damage to this team is mewtwo-mega-x, supported by arceus-water.

Mewtwo-Mega-X @ Mewtwonite X
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Low Kick
- Ice Beam
- Taunt
- Stone Edge/Rock Slide

Arceus-Water @ Splash Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 Spe
Bold Nature
- Judgment
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover

MMX can deal a lot of damage to almost the whole team. Low kick is for the heavy guys like pogre, pdon and ferro, ice beam is for bulky zygarde-c and stone edge/rock slide is for ho-oh. This mon in itself can deal damage to the whole team. Taunt helps to stop the opposing mons from setting up hazards and using sleep talk when it uses rest. It also stops ferro from using leech seed, pdon from using roar and groundceus from using defog.

Mons which can take hits from physical mons (such as waterceus) help to support it. Waterceus with judgement can also help in doing some damage to ho-oh and groundceus, which MMX can take care of but with a little difficulty. Waterceus also helps to spread status and ice beam can take care of zygarde-c. Waterceus is to support MMX here and to make sure it doesn’t get worn out too much.

So there r my two cores for breaking this team. Hope u like it, and may the best core win.

Hello there, it's my first major post in here so here we go!

[Sorry in advance cuz no images]

Here's the core
Darkrai @ Electrium Z or Fightinium Z (For Ferrothorn with Focus Blast)
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunder
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast / Ice Beam

Arceus-Ground @ Earth Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Mewtwo @ Mewtwonite Y
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Calm Mind
- Psystrike
- Ice Beam / Fire Blast

P.S The bolded moves are linked together, i.e. if Darkrai is running Ice Beam you must run Fire Blast on MM2Y and vice versa.

Considering how a well played Dark mon can literally run through this run if played correctly, I decided to use a more niche dark type that has the tools to take on the the given team. Darkrai gets enough chances against the given team to setup NP. This Nasty Plot combined with Gigavolt Havoc OHKOes Primal Ogre while Thunder alone 2HKOes. It also can be reliably used against Ho-oh as missing a Thunder against it is detrimental. Ice Beam is for Arc-Ground and Zyg-C while Focus Blast is for Ferro (which additionally can be used with Fightinium Z).

Darkrai alone won't be enough for the job so I added SD Adamant Groundceus to have an extra solution against PrimalDon and Ho-oh, to an extent Ferro and Kyogre if they have sustained enough damage already. Recover helps it against keep it healthy throughout the match.

Finally, MM2Y with Taunt and CM keeps the pressure on against the team with nearly every member in the team having a way to heal themselves as well as shutting down status from the Toxic spreaders. Psystrike should be enough to keep Kyogre+Ho-oh at bay while Ice Beam helps it take on ZygC/ArcGround better whereas Ferro is roasted clean by an unboosted Fire Blast.

Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 152 HP / 236 Atk / 44 SpD / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Precipice Blades
- Dragon Tail
- Rock Tomb

Mewtwo @ Mewtwonite Y
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Calm Mind
- Psystrike
- Ice Beam

Yveltal @ Life Orb
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing
- Heat Wave
- Taunt

This core is more reliant on Offensive SR Primaldon putting up rocks and attempting to have the two fellow taunters keep it that way. Offensive Primaldon is only truly troubled by Groundceus which is prone to the Rock Tomb that let's the slower Yveltal have a better time against it overall, Precipice Blades alone is great to take on Kyogre.

CM MewtwoY works similarly to the first core but does more work against the given team compared to the previous core as it is often the mon to be used the most to take on Ho-oh and PrimalOgre. Ice Beam is there to play with ZygC and ArcGround.

Heat Wave+taunt Yveltal is the death knell on Ferrothorn, not to mention that takes on both Primaldon and ZygC pretty well.

That's all for my first Break This Team post. Have fun, and good luck on your cores!

Arceus-Ground @ Groundium Z
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

this is pretty solid against the team. Granted zygarde needs some prediction for you to get around it. But yeah even in a vacuum, SD groundceus is a big threat to the team.

don't really see kyogre pdon breaking this team. There is a clear disconnect between what they beat and what they are walled by. The team has two solid answers to each (ferro+pdon and zyg+groundceus respectively). M2X is a stronger choice. It's always good to pair it with something bulky to support it but arc water doesn't seem like a super necessary choice.

Voting for core 2 (groundceus + cloyster) as I used it in UPL :toast: and it is actually really strong ofc.

However core 1 ( yveltal + lunala) is still pretty good against this team but I feel like the team has more room to win against it than against core 2 with Ho-Oh and Kyogre. Also it is harder to put it in a team.
MegaMewtwoX seems a pretty good option as well (maybe even the best) but I don't see what waterceus adds to the core so I'm not going for it.

Here's the team for Round V!

Alright, what we have here is a nice Arceus-Dark Balance provided by the SM Council ( Fireburn Hack Minority Level 56 ). This team actually has a pretty good Dark resist in Arceus-Dark but still, there are ways of getting around this team.

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 176 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Precipice Blades
- Toxic
- Roar

Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Heavy Slam
- Toxic

Arceus-Dark @ Dread Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 156 SpD / 100 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Judgment
- Toxic
- Defog
- Recover

Zygarde-Complete @ Leftovers
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Toxic
- Thousand Arrows

Ho-Oh @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Recover
- Toxic

Gengar @ Gengarite
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Sludge Wave

Provided a bit of description for the team this time. Should come in handy when preparing cores to play against it.

Mega Gengar works as a pretty good trapper as well as a proper way of dealing with stall, paired with Zygarde-C to check almost all physical threats in the tier, including Pokemon like Dual Dance Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Mega Lucario, and the lot. Arceus-Dark to improve the team's matchup against Ghost- and Dark-types, some of the best offensive typing in the metagame right now, checking Pokemon like Yveltal and Lunala while also acting as a Defog user to remove hazards and supporting its teammates. Primal Groudon is the staple Stealth Rock setter in most balance teams, as well as a check to threats like Primal Kyogre and Xerneas. Toxic on this Pokemon is pretty helpful to badly poison switchins like support Arceus formes such Arceus-Ground and Arceus-Water, setting them on a timer. Celesteela is able to check physical threats such as Mega Salamence, Extreme Killer Arceus, SD Arceus-Ground, Primal Groudon lacking Fire coverage thanks to Toxic+Leech Seed+Protect. To end it off, Life Orb Ho-Oh provides the team more offensive presence and improve its matchup even more against most balance teams.

Round V core submission starts now. Good luck!
If you have any teams that would like to get featured next week, hit me up with a PM whenever!

Deadline for this round of Break This Team is 8th May 9 pm GMT +0
