Analysis skeleton is hidden below.

[Overview]
 • Has everything a pokemon could want, a ground-immuntiy, a Steel-typing, fabulous move-pool, and access to decent stats all across the board.
 • Low HP stat is a huge let down as it lowers it's bulk tremendously.
 • Prefers to be used in rain to migitate fire-type weakness.
 • When equipped with a mental herb it can be incredibly hard to impossible to stop it at doing it's role.
 • Enough attack to stop it from being set-up on, and deal quite a bit of damage back thanks to the huge power of it's Gyro Ball.
 • Can utilize Trick Room to alleviate it's low speed.
[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Gyro Ball
move 3: Imprison / Light Screen
move 4: Protect/ Explosion
item: Sitrus Berry / Mental Herb / Occa Berry
nature: Sassy / Brave
ability: Levitate
evs: 252 HP/ 252 SpD/ 4 Atk OR 252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
 • Easily sets up trick room for a team, thanks to it's defenses and typing, and can knock down quite a portion of an enemies team with base 140 STAB Gyro Ball.
 • The unique combination of Levitate while being a bulky steel-type differences it from other common users of Trick Room such as Musharna and Cresselia.
 • Trick Room is obviously the crux of the set setting up distorted dimensions for a team, while enabling Bronzong to outspeed almost the whole metagame.
 • Gyro Ball is reliable and very powerful STAB capable of 2HKOing frail threats like Gengar, and works wonderfully with Bronzong's low speed.
 • Imprison enables Bronzong to prevent an enemy team from using Trick Room and Protect, making it a fantastic user of it. Light Screen enables Bronzong to increase it's allies and itself's Special Defense stat, and also greatly eases it's ability to take opposing Surfs and Heat Waves.
 • Finally, Bronzong has the option to explode to help get a team mate in to abuse easily or Bronzong can use Protect to shield itself from damage, scout, and get residual damage on the opposing team.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
 • Bronzong normally likes to have a Sitrus Berry to ensure maximum longetivity, however, it can also run mental herb to get through taunt and not be screwed over by Whimsicott's Encore. Lastly, Occa berry enables Bronzong to take one sun-boosted Heat Wave from Ninetales and still set up Trick Room.
 • Although not mentioned, Bronzong gets access to Rain Dance, Sunny Day, and Sandstorm and is a viable option for the last slot.
 • Bronzong get's access to Zen Headbutt and Rock Slide, which can be used in the third moveslot if Bronzong wants additional STAB or the ability to help it's teammates Spam Earthquakes by getting rid of enemy flying-types.
 • Bronzong may use Iron Head over Gyro Ball if one wants consisitency in the base power of a move, but it should be noted that the damage output against faster threats is much lower, and Bronzong normally turns a lot of OHKOes into 2HKOes and 2HKOes into 3HKOes in this process. For example, while Gyro Ball maintiain's a OHKO on most Terrakion, Iron Head will fail to OHKO certain variants.
 • Lastly, Bronzong can use Earthquake in the 3rd or 4th moveslot, but it generally will be hurting it's team mates as many of the pokemon that like Bronzong's support are not immune to Earthquake.
[Other Options]
 • Bronzong can run a dual screen set consisting of Light Screen, Reflect, Explosion, and Gyro Ball, but Cresselia normally outclasses it at that due to it's much higher bulk, and access to Helping Hand, and Icy Wind, enabling it to not be dead weight after it has screened.

[Teammates and Counters]
 • Bronzong cannot handle the raw power of Double STABed boosted Surfs or sun boosted Heat Waves, making Politoed, and Ninetales very good counters.
 • Bronzong in particular hates one move, Gravity, it makes him suspectible to Earthquakes and completely removes the benefit of levitate, effectively removing his main advantage over other Steel types.
 • Whimsicott can trap Bronzong lacking Mental Herb onto Trick Room making his twisted efforts a complete waste, to a similar effect, Thundurus and Tornadus can taunt Bronzong to stop Trick Room and stall out the Trick Room turns with priority Substitute.
 • Imprison Chandelure irritates Bronzong by preventing it from twisting the dimensions and flings STAB Heat Waves off of a 145 base Special Attack stat to hit it hard after imprisoning.
 • Hariyama can provide Fake out support for Bronzong, enabling him to set up Trick Room infront of weather threat's due to the 1 turn delay, as well as OHKO Ninetales and Whimsicott with a Guts boosted, STAB Close Combat and 2hko Politoed with the combination of Close Combat and Zen Headbutt. It also can freely release Earthquakes without hitting the Robot courtesy of levitate.
 • Togekiss can attract Encore and Taunt from Bronzong's enemies with Follow Me, and after Trick Room flinch a foe while getting damage with Air Slash.
 • Jellicent and Lickilicky both counter/nullify weather courtesy of their typing and ability, the ladder can even set up Trick Room for Bronzong if Bronzong happens to be forced to encounter a rain-boosted Surf or Heat Wave.
 • Garchomp can take advantage of Bronzong's ability to stop Trick Room teams with imprison and rid Chandelure from the game by spamming Earthquakes without fear of hitting a teammate. Bronzong also can get rid of pesky ice types that Garchomp fears with a very powerful STAB Gyro Ball or Iron Head.

[Dream World]
 • Bronzong's Dream World ability is Heavy Metal, which does nothing but lower the power of Heat Crash and increase the power of Low Kick. It is inferior in every way to levitate and should not ever be considered over it.

[Overview]

With a fabulous Steel typing, a Ground-type immunity, a great movepool, and decent stats, one may wonder why Bronzong is not seen very oftenly in the VGC metagame. The answer is simple: its low HP stat lowers his bulk tremendously, and its low speed restricts it to being used on Trick Room and anti-Trick Room teams. Its only weakness to common Fire-type moves does not assist Bronzong either, as any Double STABed move will likely make quick work of it. However these shortcomings should not deter one from choosing it. Bronzong is perfectly capable of providing support to any team, and can be a major nuisance for the opponent.

[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Gyro Ball
move 3: Imprison / Light Screen
move 4: Protect / Explosion
item: Sitrus Berry / Mental Herb / Occa Berry
nature: Sassy / Brave
ability: Levitate
evs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]

Bronzong's Steel typing, its Levitate ability, low Speed, access to Gyro Ball, and good defenses help it to distinguish itself as an exceptionally useful Trick Room supporter. Trick Room is the crux of the set, setting up the distorted dimensions for itself and the team, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the VGC metagame when Trick Room is in play. Gyro Ball is a reliable and very powerful move that usually has a massive Base Power due to Bronzong's low speed, and is capable of OHKOing frailer threats such as Gengar and Terrakion. Imprison enables Bronzong to stop opposing Trick Room teams and when used in conjunction with Protect, prevent the opponent's access to the staple move of doubles. Light Screen temporarily increases the team's Special Defense, easing the damage taken from common spread moves such as Surf and Heat Wave. Lastly, Bronzong has the ability to use Explosion in order to get a teammate in safely. If one does not want this robot to have its death hastened, then you can use Protect, a staple move in Doubles that has many uses.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Bronzong likes to have a Mental Herb to get through Taunt and not be deemed worthless by Whimsicott's Encore; however, if you have a method for dealing with Whimsicott and are running Bronzong on a rain team, then a Sitrus Berry is recommended to maximize Bronzong's longevity. Lastly, an Occa Berry enables Bronzong to take one sun-boosted Heat Wave from Ninetales and then proceed to set up Trick Room.

Bronzong's low HP stat prevents it from surviving a STAB Surf from the likes of Drizzle Politoed, and also prevents it from living a STAB Heat Wave from Fire-types such as Ninetales without the help of an Occa Berry. Bronzong likes Fake Out support to stop these moves for one turn so that it can set up its Trick Room, and later set up Light Screen to help itself and its teammate set up. Hariyama sets itself apart from the crowd of Pokemon that can use Fake Out, thanks to its Guts ability and massive Attack stat that allows it to apply pressure to the opponent, while Bronzong aids itself and the team. If this cannot be achieved, another Trick Room user that can withstand these moves, such as Jellicent is recommended. Lickilicky deserves a special mention since it prevents the STAB Water-type moves from being boosted by Drizzle, thanks to its ability, Cloud Nine, therefore making them much more bearable.

Bronzong's supporting ability not only lies in using Trick Room, but having the ability to stop it. Bronzong enjoys partners that can apply pressure to the other team that appreciate the removal of Trick Room. Garchomp stands out among these pokemon due to its ability to eliminate Chandelure, one of Bronzong's most threatening enemies. In return, Bronzong can OHKO opposing Ice-types that try to freeze Garchomp. Should Bronzong want to more heavily damage these Ice-types the alternative spread of 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD can be used to swap Bronzong's Special Defense for a damage boost in his moves.

[Other Options]

Bronzong can run a dual screen set consisting of Light Screen, Reflect, Explosion, and Gyro Ball, but Cresselia normally outclasses it in this regard, due to its much higher bulk and access to Helping Hand and Icy Wind, which make it much more than dead weight after it has set up screens. Bronzong also has a slew of attacking options it can use in the support set such as Rock Slide, Zen Headbutt, Earthquake, and Iron Head that can offer more coverage, or in Iron Head's case, a more reliable STAB move. Bronzong has access to Rain Dance, Sandstorm, and Sunny Day, and can use these moves to support the team, if desired.

[Checks and Counters]

Whimsicott and Imprison Chandelure are arguably the only Pokemon that can usually prevent Bronzong from setting up Trick Room. The former can break Bronzong's Mental Herb with Taunt and force it to revert the dimensions with Encore, while the latter can utilize Imprison to stop all variants, or utilize Heat Wave in the sun to OHKO any variant lacking an Occa Berry. Bronzong's bulk may be decent, but it lacks the HP to take double STAB-boosted Surf and Heat Wave, making Ninetales and Politoed very good counters due to their weather setting abilities. Tornadus and Thundurus are also very good counters, as they can stop non-Mental Herb Bronzong with a priority Taunt, and are capable of stalling out Trick Room with a priority Substitute, should Bronzong manage to set Trick Room up. The latter deserves a special mention, as it resists Gyro Ball and can maim Bronzong with a STAB Thunder. Overall, Bronzong's bulk, although respectable, will fall to the might of several double STAB-boosted moves due to the robot's lack of reliable recovery.

i would like to see a more supportive movepool with imprison / light screen in the 3rd moveslot (and possibly sassy nature with 252 spec def). bronzong is one of the best imprison pokemon out there because of its defenses and typing. its a shame to waste it on zen headbutt. please change items to

sitrus berry / mental herb / occa berry

Muffinhead's changes have been made. Zen Headbutt and Rock Slide are moved to AC while Imprison has been transferred from AC to the original set. Also got rid of Macho Brace, but im not sure, should it still deserve a mention, and if Bronzong can use Light Screen for support it can can also use Reflect so should that also get a mention?

dont mention macho brace at all. special spread moves are what bronzong fears. already is immune to eq and resists rs. light screen helps out pokemon like rhyperior and hariyama.

iron head may be something you want to slash (below base 90s with no investment take less from gyro ball than iron head, if my math is right); it does more damage to abomasnow, (especially min quiet) which I guess is nice.

gyro ball maxes out at 150 iirc.

not much else to say; looks like an interesting rain poke, to say the least.

All right not adding anything to our friend, the robot. Iron head was slashed in AC <.<. Tailwind should be very common this VGC which bumbs the level up to 45 iirc. Oh well any other comments on the set?

talked with rest of qc, sassy should be first option with max special def EVs.

please fix up team options and counters. add garchomp in team options for taking out chandelure (bronzong counter). garchomp loves imprison + tr, and bronzong can deal some damage to ice types for chomp.

fix spelling of pokemon please, after these changes it should be ready.

Ok Sassy is officially the first nature of the support set and Bronzong now has mentions of Chandelure as an enemy with Garchomp being a huge friend. Sorry about taking so long to make changes.

I changed some spelling mistakes I noticed but I don't know if there is more. If anyone sees a mistake feel free to post about and criticize me about my bad spelling <.<.

I noticed you said "whimsicoot" instead of "whimsicott" so that needs to be changed
also it's ninetales not ninetale's

after that I'll read over it again to see if it's ready :)

Thanks Solace for those really odd spelling errors that I never can find sometimes <.<. Ninetale's -> ninetails and whimsicoot is now -> Whimsicott.

Anything else that the robot needs before it gets stamped?

Yay a check. Muffinhead's change has been made, I feel dumb putting Marowak in team options <.< I apologize about that, I wonder what I was thinking then...

The former can break Bronzong's Mental Herb with Taunt and force it to revert the dimensions with Encore, while the latter can utilize Imprison to stop non-Mental Herb variants[I don't think Mental Herb works on Imprison], or can utilize Heat Wave in the Sun to OHKO Bronzong lacking Occa Berry. Bronzong's bulk may be decent, but it lacks the HP to take Double STABed Surfs and Heat Waves, making Ninetales and Politoed very good counters due to their weather setting abilities. Tornadus and Thundurus are also very good counters, as they can stop non-Mental Herb Bronzong with priority Taunt, and are capable of stalling out Trick Room with priority Substitute should Bronzong manage to set Trick Room up. The latter deserves a special mention since it resists Gyro Ball and can maim Bronzong with STAB Thunder. Overall, Bronzong's bulk, although respectable, will fall to the might of several Double STAB moves due to the robot's lack of reliable recovery.

Bronzong

[Overview]

With a fabulous Steel-Typing, a Ground-immunity, a great movepool, and decent stats, one may wonder why Bronzong is not seen very commonly in the VGC metagame. The answer is simple: its low HP stat tremendously lowers his bulk, and its low speed restricts it to being used on Trick Room and Anti-Trick Room teams. Its only weakness to common Fire-type moves does not assist Bronzong either as any Double STABed move will likely end its lifespan. These shortcomings should not deter one from choosing it on a team though. Bronzong is perfectly capable of providing support to any team and can be a major nuisance for the opponent.

[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Gyro Ball
move 3: Imprison/ Light Screen
move 4: Protect / Explosion
item: Sitrus Berry / Mental Herb / Occa Berry
nature: Sassy / Brave
ability: Levitate
evs: 252 HP/ 252 SpD/ 4 Atk OR 252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD (Is this acceptable in VGC? If not, one spread should be moved to AC)

[SET COMMENTS]

Bronzong's Steel-Typing, Levitate, low Speed, Gyro Ball, and good defenses enable it to distinguish itself as an exceptionally talented Trick Room supporter. Trick Room is the crux of the set, setting up the distorted dimensions for itself and the team, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the VGC metagame. Gyro Ball is a reliable and very powerful move that gains massive power due to Bronzong's low speed, and is capable of OHKOing frailer threats such as Gengar and Terrakion. Imprison enables Bronzong to stop opposing Trick Room teams for the team and, if used in conjunction with Protect, ban access to the staple move of doubles. Light Screen increases Bronzong's and his team mates' teammates' special bulk, easing the damage of Double STABed Surfs and Heat Waves. Lastly, Bronzong has the ability to explode to help get a teammate in to abuse the distorted dimentions quickly. If one does not want this robot (Robot? I would say bell, but it's your call) to have his death hastened, then they you can use Protect, a staple move in Doubles that protects, scouts, and stalls.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Bronzong likes to have a mental herb Mental Herb to get through taunt Taunt and not be deemed worthless by Whimsicott's,[remove comma] Encore, however, if you have a method for dealing with Whimsicott and are running Bronzong on a rain team, then a Sitrus Berry is recommended to maximize Bronzong's longevity. Lastly, Occa Berry enables Bronzong to take one sun-boosted Heat Wave from Ninetales and then proceed to set up Trick Room.

Bronzong's low HP stat prevents it from living a Double STABed Surf, and while also prevents preventing it from living a Double STABed Heat Wave without the help of an Occa Berry. Bronzong likes Fake Out support to stop these moves for one turn so that it can set up its Trick Room, and later set up Light Screen to help itself and its teammate set up. Hariyama sets itself apart from the crowd of pokemon Pokemon that can use Fake Out thanks to its Guts ability,[remove comma] and massive Attack stat,[add comma] that allows it to do damage and apply pressure to the opponent, while Bronzong aids itself and the team. If this cannot be achieved, another Trick Roomer Trick Room user that can withstand these moves like Jellicent is recommended. Lickilicky deserves a special mention since he it prevents the Double STAB of Water-type moves,[add comma] making them much more bearable.

Bronzong's support not only lies in Trick Room, but the ability to stop it. Bronzong enjoys partners that can apply pressure to the other team that appreciate the removal of Trick Room. Garchomp stands out among these pokemon due to its ability to eliminate Chandelure, one of Bronzong's most threatening enemies. Bronzong can in return can OHKO opposing Ice-types that try to freeze (I would put something like: "that might threaten Garchomp", here instead, but it's your call) Garchomp.

[OTHER OPTIONS] (lower case, same as the Overview and C&C sections)

Bronzong can run a dual screen set consisting of Light Screen, Reflect, Explosion, and Gyro Ball, but Cresselia normally outclasses it in this regard due to its much higher bulk,[add comma] and access to Helping Hand and Icy Wind, enabling it to not be which makes it much more than dead weight after it has set up screens. Bronzong also has a slew of attacking options it can use in the support set such as Rock Slide, Zen Headbutt, Earthquake, and Iron Head that can offer more coverage, or in Iron Head's case, a more reliable STAB move. Bronzong gets access to Rain Dance, Sandstorm, and Sunny Day, and can use these moves to support the team,[add comma] over another move on the support set if desired.

Yes, one spread needs to be moved to the AC iirc.

[SET COMMENTS]

Bronzong's Steel-typing (remove hyphen, it's Steel typing and Steel-type), its Levitate ability, low Speed, access to Gyro Ball, and good defenses help to enable it to distinguish itself as an exceptionally useful talented Trick Room supporter. Trick Room is the crux of the set, setting up the distorted dimensions for itself and the team, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the VGC metagame when Trick Room is in play. Gyro Ball is a reliable and very powerful move that usually has gains a massive Base Power due to Bronzong's low Speed speed, and is capable of OHKOing frailer threats such as Gengar and Terrakion. Imprison enables Bronzong to stop opposing Trick Room teams for the team and, (remove comma) when if used in conjunction with Protect, prevent the opponent's ban access to the staple move of doubles. Light Screen temporarily increases the team's Special Defense Bronzong's and his team mates' teammates' special bulk, easing the damage taken from of common spread moves, Double STABed such as Surfs and Heat Waves. Lastly, Bronzong has the ability to use Explosion explode in order to help get a teammate in safely to abuse the distorted dimentions quickly. If one does not want this robot (Robot? I would say bell, but it's your call) to have its his (you say its in the overview, be consistent) death hastened, then they you can use Protect, a staple move in Doubles that has many uses protects, scouts, and stalls.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Bronzong's low HP stat prevents it from surviving living a Double STABed STAB Surf from the likes of Drizzle Politoed, and while also prevents preventing it from living a STAB Double STABed Heat Wave from Fire-types such as Ninetales without the help of an Occa Berry.
