Deep in the heart of Viridian Forest a strange mansion dwells among the trees. It is an old manor of gray bricks; the home easily predates the first revolution. Only a handful of servants live in the recmote manor to tend to its equally reclusive but very wealthy lord.

Who is he? I wouldn't ask. He can get rather touchy about personal matters.

He spends most of his days alone, gazing at his collection. Tauros heads are mounted on plaques. A flock of stuffed Farfetch'd hang from the ceiling. A Scyther's body stands poised to strike at any unsuspecting foes, his lifeless eyes finally fitting. He worked long and hard for this collection. It was a welcome distraction from his work.

What did he do? I wouldn't ask. He can get rather touchy about personal matters.

But deep inside the home lies a room that seems out of place. It is an extremely high tech greenhouse complete with weather modification abilities. Toxic plants hang throughout as swarms of smaller bugs eat from their bark unaffected. Insects are remarkably resilient creatures. A tropical rain constantly pours down from above but the insects don't seem to mind. It is soothing and cooling in the room.

And he does not battle with actual insects. Just his Pokemon. The most prized members of his collection.

Mechanics:

-Permanent Rain that can only be changed by weather stones for a length of 3r. At the end of the stone's effect, if it is not renewed, the weather goes back to rain.
-So long as rain is up, the attack drop from Burn does not apply
-Moves with the word "poison" in their name gain 3 base power
-4x weaknesses deal x2 damage, 8x weaknesses deal x2.5 damage
-SolarBeam, Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight work as if the weather is clear if it is raining.
The Gym Leader, Rediamond has had a few ups and downs. Constantly defending his Gym with challengers who tend to bring specific counters; he has still managed to keep his chin up and teach the challengers some important lessons on their way back. So, Keep an eye out for Corpus the Heracross, who has a lot of tricks at hand and has good synergy with the Gym Leader. Also Diego the Armaldo an all time star of his Gym, could prove vital in this battle.

"Our challenger is a returning senior, Rickheg. He has recently started battling, reffing and raiding; and looks to be back in the groove with a Gym Challenge. Rediamond had better watch out for him, as he has the surprise factor working for him, while Shaman the Tomohawk and Dust the Cyclohm could prove troubling for the Leader as we had observed in an earlier challenge."

Challenger Rickheg:

It's a lovely night to die
Dusknoir [Cyclost] (M)

Type: Electric/Dragon

Abilities:

(Passive) This Pokemon has dust covering the outside of its body that reduces the Effect Chance of incoming attacks to 0%. This prevents such things as Burns from Flamethrower from occuring.
Static: (Passive) This Pokemon's body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this Pokemon.
Overcoat (DW): (Passive) This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1). Shaman (Tomohawk) M
Type: Flying/Fighting

Abilities:
Intimidate: (Trigger) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as a Command, and will affect all opponents.

Command: Activate Intimidate - 5 En - Lowers all foes' Attack by one (1) stage. Only usable if a foe entered play this round.
Prankster: (Passive) The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks a +1 increase in priority level.
Justified (DW): (Passive) This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokemon's attack will increase one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by another Pokemon's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

Round 1: The Escape of the Flying Fire Bug!:

The battle starts with Volcarona creating clones of herself, Rediamond had asked it to make four clones and later realized the restriction of the battle style and asked Flare to create two clones of her self, which she manages to do successfully. This confuses the Camel who was about to erupt but since its raining in the arena her thirst was quenched for a while, although when she heard Rickheg shouting out to summon for sharp stones that she can use to hurl at the Fire Bug, Flamvell manages to do so but misfortune strikes her edge and she manages to miss the attack. Flamvell then tries to Slide rocks on Flare, which was a brilliant move that destroyed all of Flare's Clones. Meanwhile, Flare struck Flamvell with a Fire Spin attack that trapped the camel into a swirling cage of flames. Flamvell tried to summon sharp stones to hurl at Flare again, but Flare flew high up in the air avoiding all damage while she came back to strike Flamvell for a small amount of damage.

Overall, Flamvell didn't suffer much damage; but it lost an opportunity to dish out some major damage on the Fire Bug, who would most probably be switched out next round by the Gym Leader, for Diego Armaldo. Lets see if we are right on this...

Round 2: Who let the Rocks Out? Who? Who?:

The round starts with both trainers trying to setup rocks. Diego Armaldo starts off by scattering small pieces of rocks around Rickheg's side of the field, where as Flamvell Erupts at the Rocky Bug, venting out his anger that was built up last round. Though Rickheg would have liked his Flamvell to reach her Anger Point, it didn't manage to tip Flamvell off to that extent. Diego then Quakes the Camel, while Flamvell responds with a quake of her own. Both Quakes doing similar damage but Diego manages to squeeze in a little more as the Quake is SE on the Fire Camel. Then Diego fills his tail with water from the rain and smacks it on the face of Flamvell for massive damage, where as Flamvell takes a bite of her Enigma Berry, stays calm and sets up small pieces of rocks on Rediamond's side of the field, which could be more useful than attacking the Rocky Bug. Will Flamvell be ready to respond to such a devastating blow by Diego next round? Or will she be switched out? Stay tuned to find out guys...

Okay, so we drew out a new bug. What's the plan?

I guess the plan is to outdamage that thing? I didn't really make a turn-by-turn game plan, per se...

Why do I let you bring me to situations like this?!

Round 3: Screen, Torment and Paralysis:

Rickheg sent out Cyclohm and Rediamond decided to go with Aurumoth, both took stealth rock damage. Cyclohm tormented the Destroyer of worlds while it was setting up a Shield of light to protect itself. Cyclohm then protected against Aurumoth's Blizzard while they exchanged blows later with Megahorn and Hurricane. Though unfortunately the destroyer of worlds was paralysed.

What more torment does the challenger have in store for the Gym Leader and his Cherished Bugs?

Since Cyclohm has 5 Def, Megahorn should have dealt 3 less damage.

Thunder > Hurricane > Thunder

IF your move is disabled when you would attack, use Charge Beam that action

I really feel like I'm missing something, but I spent like 30 min just staring at Aurumoth's movepool. Pretty sure I'm okay for this round.

Round 4: No Para, No Speed Drop, Nada!

Cyclohm continuously hammers at Aurumoth with Special attacks, despite it being behind Light Screen. Aurumoth does decent damage this round under torment and even manages to put up a wish behind the light screen. Though I am not sure if he wanted that speed drop on Cyclohm or not.

Both trainers seem to be focused on safe attacks, we will have to wait to see how these trainers would respond on the following rounds; but one thing is for sure, The Gym Leader seems ready to launch into the challenger when ever he wishes to, the question however is: Will he?

Icy Wind should still speed drop through Sheer Force since it's effect had a 100% chance of happening. It doesn't actually change anything, but still. It could be useful to know in the future.

Anyway, back to the only reliable strategy here. Spam moves until the opponent dies or I do.

Light Screen~Blizzard~Megahorn
IF Dragon Tail AND you do not have a substitute up, use Substitute (15) and push actions back
IF Roar, use Magic Coat and push actions back

Rediamond, Shield Dust does block all secondary effects, even 100% ones, even Icy Wind.
