The damage calculator you Smogon people use is obviously flawed. First turn Gengar died to a hit Gengar doesn't die to. Change the rules to Lv. 50 only like how it is ingame too, it will make for a much more genuine battling experience.
0 Atk Mega Sableye Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gengar: 276-326 (106.5 - 125.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

I then changed the levels of both Pokemon to Level 50.

0 Atk Mega Sableye Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gengar: 146-174 (108.9 - 129.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

In case you were wondering, yes even 0- Mega Sableye's Knock Off will OHKO after Life Orb damage.

I found a bug here. Last turn of this battle, opponent khan used Double Edge, while xerneus protected. Instead of showing "The opposing xerneus Protected", it showed " But it failed" when Double-Edge was used. I don't know if this is a typo bug or gameplay mechanism bug. So, i thought I would post it here.

Thank you.

Thank you.
It's not a bug at all; your opponent just targeted their ally's position because there was no way they could win anyway. It failed for having no target since attacks on fainted allies aren't automatically redirected.

Hey there,

I was wondering if the trapping effect of Whirlpool is supposed to stop working after the opponent uses Substitute?

According to Bulbapedia, the latest change of how many turns Whirlpool traps the target was in Gen. 5, which is between 4 and 5 turns. (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Whirlpool_(move) )
My opponent's Klefki was freed on turn 3 already, after using Substitute. (Turn 22-24; http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-372055827)

Wrap and Clamp are affected by this, too.

That's how it's supposed to work.

On the last turn (Turn 8) of this VGC 2016 battle (that's a download link), Ditto's Quick Claw activated and Extreme Speed failed for some reason. Is this a glitch? I would assume so--

Not sure if this is a known issue or not but...

I've been playing showdown with google chrome on my galaxy note 5 recently. And, there doesn't seem to be any sound when I'm battling. It's not muted on either the site or my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry in advance to any of the mods (and zarel) I've done this too, but I actually had no clue this thread existed. Anyway, there's a somewhat major bug with the replay system where saved replays are added to the username of everything BEFORE an emoji. Thus, when using usernames like xWhatever, the replay would show up under "x". This has the potential to be used maliciously to flood tournament players etc. with empty replays and hate. Don't believe me? Check zarel's replays. (Again, sorry about that.)

Hi there, when I was answering a question in Help room we've discovered something really odd.

Heart Stamp event is listed with any nature, so it doesn't have a problem with there. Turns out if you set any stat to 0 IVs, the teambuilder will accept it. It normally worked fine just a week ago. Does this have something to do with the automatic IV changing feature?

Fixed.

This bug was encountered by users dacostakay677 and KingDingeling. dacostakay677 reported it in the Help room, but hasn't posted it here, so I'll just do so.
Basically, on Turn 5, the Ditto uses Transform on Clefable. Clefable, in Gen 1, is a normal type. However, upon using Transform, it shows that the Ditto that transformed into Clefable is a fairy type. Fairy types didn't even exist yet, so I doubt this is intentional.
It's probably just a visual bug and hopefully doesn't actually affect gameplay. I'll try a test, and if it does, I'll edit the results in.
TEST EDIT: Okay, it's simply visual. It does not affect any damage, resists or immunes. (http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen1ou-376257781)

The client isn't programmed for previous generations, so it automatically goes to the gen 6 stats/typings of Pokemon. As far as I can tell, it shouldn't affect gameplay, however.
