basically, this is a shitty item.

it has some gimmick use, but it's kinda like tricking iron ball: the effect is good, but it's not good enough to get major usage.

Iron ball isn't something you trick, it's something you fling on the last turn of trick room

but that aside, claydol sounds interesting. Claydol has terrible offenses, but I find the concept interesting. I wonder, can it allow me to toxic Ferrothorn?

No, IIRC, it only removes immunities for damage, like hitting Ferrothorn with Sludge Bomb. I may be wrong, but you're better off Burning it with Will-o'-Wisp in my opinion.
