Buneary (Analysis)

Oh another thing sorry. According to this, Buneary has not been released in the Dream World, meaning Limber should stay in the DW section and not on the sets. However, if it has been released and the list just hasn't been updated, you can remove the Dream World section.

edit: scarf should not be on the lead set. it makes you unable to use Fake Out and Encore....why is trickscarf on the lead set. I would just replace it with the support set.

Well Buneary hits a reasonably high speed carrying the Jolly Max speed and all that being outsped by only Diglett, Voltorb and Elekid if they carry Speed Benefical nature, seeing as buneary only lacks the power to hit pokes I thought that it could run a CHoice Band set alone, Ill put mention of it into OC if thats better.

Please make sure that this follows the Analysis Formatting Guide. You need to check your [SET COMMENTS] and [ADDITIONAL COMMENTS] tags, as well as many others. Once that is done, this can get GP checks. I have added it to the queue already, but no one will GP this until that's fixed. Thanks.

Klutz makes it so the item wont be used , I just tested it. You will be able to switch moves from Fake Out to Switcheroo

[Overview]

Buneary is great Pokemon for Little Cup. It's Buneary's physical movepool consists of mostly STAB moves {no it doesn't} to back up its decent Attack while it's Special movepool contains a variety of moves like such as Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball, making Buneary a great Pokemon in LC. Buneary's original abilities like such as Klutz pose some use in competitive play. It has the movepool to run a variety of sets very well {you already said this}. However, Buneary finds some issues in Little Cup. Ghost-types such as Gasty and Midreavus make great switch-ins to Buneary's moves and can force it to switch. {mention Fighting-type troll on the metagame} Another drawback for Buneary is that due to its mainly Normal movepool Physically, it is walled with ease by any ghost type. Outclassed by many Pokemon like Kojofuu and Meowth. {explain what Kojofuu and Meowth have over Buneary}

[SET COMMENTS]

Buneary can run a lead set very well. With access to handy moves such as like Fake Out and Encore, Buneary you can get some free damage then force a switch start off the game by applying offensive pressure. Return hits very hard getting STAB {explain}. Switcheroo is useful for allowing you Buneary to switch items with the target, giving them a Flame Orb or Choice Scarf to cripple them and giving you Buneary a useful item such as an Evolution Stone or an Oran Berry.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Tricking over the Flame Orb is very useful for you cutting the opponents Attack in half and if you get an Evolution Stone in exchange, it's win,win {what are you even trying to say here. Win/win means both sides win} . If you Buneary carryies the a Jolly nature and the given EV's, you are going to outspeed or speed tie with everything but Elekid, Diglett, and Voltorb if they carry a Speed Bbeneficial nature. The Choice Scarf is a useful item to have because with limiting the opponent's choice to switch moves you can cripple then it. Useful for breaking rid of Nasty Plot Misdreavous or a Stealth Rock Tesshido.

move 4: Ice Punch / Thunderpunch

[SET COMMENTS]

Buneary get has the moves and the stats to pull of a support set adequately. With access to moves like such as Encore and Healing Wish, it can be a huge help to your team. Using Encore with Overhead Throw is a great combination assuming it is set up correctly. Locking your opponent into a Stat Modifier or a Entry Hazard {none of these should be capitalized} will force them to switch, allowing you Buneary to use Overhead Throw without worrying about the -6 priority to further scout the opposing team. Combining this with Stealth Rocks and Spikes makes for a nice damage and inducing/stall<space>breaking combo. When you Buneary gets down to low HP, you it can use Healing Wish to sacrifice your itself to revive now rendered useless Buneary to bring back one of your fainted Pokemon. Heal Bell is a useful move seeing as it will rid your team of all status problems. Carrying Ice Punch / Thunderpunch assures that you aren't walled by a Ghost-type.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The Evolution Stone is a great new item added to Generation 5. It increases both Defense stats by 1.5 giving some Pokemon nice bulk. Running it on this support set is very useful as it allows you to take hits a whole lot better with the given ev's you hit 18 Defense and Special Defense. Running the Adamant nature increases your damage and goes along well with Buneary's already high Speed. To reach the sets full potential of Overhead Throw it requires some entry hazards like Stealth Rocks or Spikes to deal some incoming damage. Running with the Encore and Overhead Throw can on most occasions force a double switch giving you lots of damage from entry hazards. Due to the Little Cup Pokemon hitting a very low HP, they won't take as much damage but still enough to cripple them to 1/4-1/2 their HP making them easy to K/O later on. Due to our little friends meager defenses is outclassed by other Pokemon such as Togepi.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Return
move 2: Jump Kick / Drain Punch
move 3: Ice Punch
move 4: Switcheroo / Quick Attack / Fire Punch
item: Choice Band
ability: Limber
nature: Jolly
evs:236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Buneary has a fairly nice Physical movepool and gives it a great opportunity to run a Choice Band set. With access to moves like Jump Kick and Drain Punch, combined with its high speed can last a very long time. A Banded STAB Return can do some fairly high damage which is good. Carrying Ice Punch allows you to hit common Gligars. Switcheroo is useful if you can trick over your band to the right Pokemon. Carrying Drain Punch is useful for allowing your sweep to continue long and is a second best option if missing with Jump Kick scares you. Best to give it to something that may set up like Nasty Plot Misdreavous who with a Choice Band get no added power and are stuck with the limit to use only one move.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The Choice Band combined with these strong moves allows you to hit very hard. Buneary's high speed allows you to outspeed a lot of other Pokemon. Having Limber prevents you from being Paralyzed and having your possible sweep stopped hard in its tracks. You will have to watch out though for Will-O-Wisp Misdreavus as it will wall you along with cripple you. You only are outsped by Elekid, Diglett, and Voltorb if they carry a max Speed and Speed beneficial nature.

[Team Options]

A good teammate for Buneary would be some Ghost-type Pokemon such as Gastly or Pururiru as they can take any of the Fighting type attacks for unaffected damage and then proceed to cripple them. For support Buneary's, Tesshido is a great Hazard set up having access to Stealth Rocks and Spikes. Fast Psychic or Flying types like Abra and Taillow are great for taking out those Fighting typed Pokemon who otherwise prove as a great threat to Buneary. Someone like Komatana or Zorua are very useful for taking out Ghost-type Pokemon who will wall most sets.

[Optional Changes]

Buneary getting access to moves like Switcheroo can be useful for transferring over Choice Items crippling many Pokemon. Buneary can run a F.E.A.R. (Focus Sash. Endeavor. [Quick]Attack. Rattata.). Buneary can run a Baton Pass set utilizing moves like Encore, Agility, Substitute and of course Baton Pass. You can swap the nature on the Choice Band set for Adamant and item for a Choice Scarf if your scared of being outsped by max Speed Elekid, Diglett, and Voltorb.
*

[Counters]

Due to Buneary's Fifth Gen Physical movepool containing of only Normal and Fighting type moves with the exception of the three Elemental Punches (Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and Thunderpunch) almost every Ghost-type wall it with ease. All Fighting-types (with the exception of Mankey and Zuruguu) get access to Mach Punch making it easy to K/O no matter the speed.

GP 1/2

A few non-grammar but content related objections:

-How can you write this whole article without any mention of Frillish? It's probably the best bulky Ghost, and you've completely ignored how it walls Normal / Fighting / Ice. Mentioning that Thunder Punch can hit Frillish hard is probably a good idea.

-Fear has almost no relevance in Little Cup. The advantage of FEAR sets is that they can use a much lower level than the enemies. In LC, this is obviously irrelevant.

Buneary can also run a Choice Scarf set, even when no EVs are invested Buneary still hits 22 Speed with a Chocie Scarf outspeeding everything in the tier and most common Choice Scarf users who aim for 21 Speed. This also allows you to invest more into your offensive stats and bulk
Mention other 19 speeders like Meowth and Aipom tend to do it better, outside of Switcheroo.
