The Topic Leader is arguably the most important leadership position in the project during the Create-A-Pokemon Project. For the next few months, they will guide our topics and discussions. As a result, it is imperative that we pick someone that will do a good job. Remember, anyone can vote in this thread! Here, we'll be voting only for Topic Leader (TL). The Topic Leadership Team (TLT) will be voted on in the next leadership poll thread tomorrow.

Here is the list of self-nominated candidates (in the order they submitted their candidacy):

Please review all the information in that thread in order to adequately inform your decision. The candidates all spent a considerable amount of time writing their nominations, so make sure to review them thoroughly; they all contain vital information that will help you make your selection.

Here's how to vote:
  • All CAP community members are allowed to vote. This means that if you have a registered Smogon account, you can vote.
  • If you do not complete a full ranked ballot, as prescribed here, your ballot will be deleted. So, please take the time to evaluate all the candidates and compose a proper ranked ballot.
  • Please post ALL candidate names ranked in order of preference. Like so:

First Preferred Candidate
Second Preferred Candidate
Third Preferred Candidate

If the voter wishes, he may post comments on his vote below the actual vote. As with IRV or normal bold voting, only the votes themselves should be bold and none of the supplementary text should be bold.

DLC first because reasons. ginga last because he wasn't really clear in his nom post if he actually wanted TL or not. At least to me. Other than that I'm certainly... interested... to see how each of these individuals would deal with the project. Good luck to all.

Not going to speak on 2-4, as in reality I'd rather think of them as 2A, 2B and 2C. All of them are great candidates whom I would be happy to learn from. However, DLC has had a lot of experience working on the TLT and has a great blend of competitive knowledge and CAP experience. I feel confident that a project led by DLC would be successful and intuitive.

I tried not to make it obvious, cause I didn't want to put any pressure on when he had yet to make up his mind as far as if he would apply, but I really would love to see DLC as TL. One of the strongest CAP posters, imo, with one of the strongest resumes of anyone active who has yet to TL. Of course, with that said, the rest of you are definitely quality CAP contributors as well. Best of luck all around.

I like when users from other parts of Smogon can come in and assume a leadership position here at CAP.

All of these users would make great Topic Leaders and I hope to see each of them in that capacity by the end of this generation.

DetroitLolcat is an experienced, serious, mature and active member of CAP who's already demonstrated excellent leadership skills and who would make a great TL.
Pwnemon would also do well, but I think he'd do better with another go at TLT first to solidify his leadership skills.
I'd love to see the other two candidates as TL soon too, but I think they should both work on their application writing skills ;)
(If you guys are serious about it I'd be happy to give you advice if you want it.)

I'll be honest, I was all set to vote for myself until Detroit showed up. No question IMO, he's the best choice for TL.
