Overview
########
  • Being a rock with eyes automatically makes it a viable choice
  • Has access to the always-useful Stealth Rock and can function as a weather setter on sun teams
  • Faster and has greater overall bulk and lacks (common) 4x weaknesses, making it arguably the best Stealth Rock + sun setter in PU.
  • Sturdy lets it set up something even against foes that would OHKO it
  • Great defenses
  • Good check to the omnipresent Sneasel
  • Lacking movepool
  • Overall bulk undermined by lacking HP stat
  • Typing leaves it with a lot of weaknesses
  • Poor offensive presence renders it setup fodder
  • No reliable recovery
ROCK WITH EYES
########
name: ROCK WITH EYES
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
ability: Clear Body
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
nature: Bold

Moves
========
  • Calm Mind lets Carbink compensate for its naturally lacking Special Attack, while upping its special bulk.
  • Moonblast means that Carbink is not complete and utter Taunt bait, and is a STAB move with decent enough coverage. After several uses of Calm Mind, Carbink will actually be able to do some good damage with Moonblast.
  • Rest is Carbink's sole means of recovery, and also removes any status conditions it may have had inflicted on it.
  • Sleep Talk allows Carbink to continue to boost its stats or attack while sleeping.
Set Details
========
  • HP and Defense EVs are maximized to increase Carbink's physical bulk while Calm Mind covers its Special Defense.
  • Clear Body prevents Carbink's stats from being lowered, meaning that it won't be subject to the odd drop from an opponent's attack.
  • Leftovers gives Carbink passive recovery, which ups its longevity.
Usage Tips
========
  • Send in Carbink against a Pokemon that doesn't threaten it, such as Flareon or Dodrio, so that it can set up.
  • Regardless of the boosts it may have accumulated, due to its poor Speed, Carbink generally shouldn't stay in when faced with a foe with a type advantage, such as Carracosta, Tangela, and Piloswine.
  • When Carbink has been worn down sufficiently, use Rest to restore health and over the course of the two following turns, use Sleep Talk in order to allow Carbink to not be a complete sitting duck (err, rock?) while asleep.
  • It is safest for Carbink to attempt to set up once its checks and counters have been worn down or outright KOed by teammates.
Team Options
========
  • Teammates capable of dealing with Water-, Grass- and Ground-types are ideal. For example, Tangela can dispatch most Water- and Ground-types, and Flareon can dispose of Grass-types.
  • A Toxic Spikes support from a Pokemon such as Garbodor or Roselia means that passive damage is inflicted on the opponent while Carbink sets up, and helps it beat other passive sweepers such as Vigoroth.
Sun Support
########
name: Sun Support
move 1: Sunny Day
move 2: Stealth Rock
move 3: Explosion
move 4: Magic Coat
ability: Sturdy
item: Heat Rock
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly

Moves
========
  • Sunny Day summons the sunlight; a boon for Fire-types and other Pokemon that take advantage of it, such as those with Chlorophyll.
  • Stealth Rock hurts incoming Pokemon and breaks Sturdy and Focus Sashes. It is useful for helping offensively-inclined teammates net KOs with greater ease.
  • Explosion allows Carbink to put a dent in something once it has set up both the sun and Stealth Rock.
  • Magic Coat lets Carbink bounce back status, entry hazards, and most notably, Taunt, which would otherwise render Carbink a lot less useful.
Set Details
========
  • Maximum HP evens out Carbink's overall bulk, and maximum Speed lets it get up Stealth Rock and the sun as fast as possible.
  • Sturdy ensures that Carbink can summon the weather or set up Stealth Rock even against opponents that would otherwise KO it (with the exception of Mold Breaker opponents).
  • A Heat Rock extends the duration of the sunlight to eight turns, allowing teammates to take advantage of it for the longest possible amount of time.
Usage Tips
========
  • Carbink functions well as a lead, though it can be brought in any time your team needs sun support.
  • Carbink should always set up Stealth Rock first and explode after setting up both sunlight and Stealth Rock so as not to waste precious weather turns.
  • If Carbink only has the opportunity to set up one thing before fainting, it should prioritize summoning the sun, unless teammates capable of taking advantage of it have fainted.
  • If there is an important Pokemon such as Sneasel on the other team that Carbink checks, you should try to keep it alive for later on in the match.
  • Magic Coat is to be used if you predict that the foe will use Taunt or set up an entry hazard.
Team Options
========
  • This set should only be used on dedicated weather teams.
  • Pokemon that can take advantage of sun with their abilities and/or moves, such as Victreebel, Leafeon, and Sawsbuck, are good teammates, as they may be able to sweep with sun support.
  • In a similar vein, Fire-types such as Ninetales and Flareon are great teammates as they too can take advantage of the sunlight.
  • Carbink wants to be backed by a teammate that can summon sunlight later on the match, such as Volbeat. Volbeat can also use Encore to deal with the setup sweepers that try to use Carbink as setup bait.
Other Options
########
  • Very lacking movepool in general.
  • Although not overly-useful, Stone Edge is an option for the second set as it lets Carbink OHKO Sneasel with prior damage and break Haunter's Substitutes.
  • Toxic is an option on the second set to let Carbink put a timer on its opponents, though it is almost never going to be using it, as it generally just wastes sun turns even if Carbink sticks around long enough to use it.
  • Carbink can set up dual screens, but struggles to get both screens and Stealth Rock up, and is outclassed at doing so by Pokemon such as Meowstic-M and Solrock due to its poor Speed and nonexistent offensive presence.
  • Carbink can set up Trick Room for its teammates and proceed to explode.
  • Power Gem is an alternative STAB to Moonblast that can be used should you be absolutely desperate for Carbink to have some Rock-type coverage, though its power and inferior overall coverage means that one should definitely consider Moonblast before it.
  • Carbink can try a defensive set that capitalizes on its ability to check some common threats, but it is setup fodder.
Checks & Counters
########
**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Kricketune, Simisear and Dodrio can severely reduce Carbink's usefulness with Taunt, as it cannot set up and recover in the case of the first set, or support the team in the second set's case. However, they must be wary of using Taunt against Sun Support Carbink, as they risk having it bounced back with Magic Coat.

**Attackers with Super Effective STAB Moves**: Due to its low Speed stat and lack of investment, the first set is forced out by plenty of common attackers, such as Torterra, Carracosta, Piloswine and Golem, irrespective of the boosts that Carbink may have acquired.

**Setup Sweepers**: Setup sweepers such as Carracosta, Barbaracle, Klang, Substitute + Swords Dance Bouffalant and Substitute + Calm Mind Serperior can easily set up on Carbink and prove troublesome for the rest of its team. The former three even pack a resistance to Explosion.

**Pokemon That Resist Moonblast**: Pokemon that resist Moonblast will be able to come in on Carbink and proceed to trouble it. For example, Ninetales can set up with Nasty Plot and use Energy Ball, Garbodor can set up entry hazards and can reset Carbink's boosts with Haze, and Steel-types such as Klang and Metang laugh in Carbink's face, as they can KO it with ease or use it as an opportunity to use Shift Gear and Stealth Rock, respectively.

Overview
########
Carbink is faster and has greater overall bulk than most Stealth Rock users and lacks common 4x weaknesses, making it arguably the best Stealth Rock and sun setter in PU. Carbink's defensive typing means that it is a good check to the omnipresent Sneasel, and its ability, Sturdy, lets it set up something even against foes that would OHKO it. It can also run a RestTalk set that enables it to last throughout the match and set up against the powerful foes that do not threaten it such as Flareon and Dodrio. However, its lacking movepool does it no favors, and its overall bulk is undermined by a poor HP stat. Additionally, its typing leaves it with no shortage of weaknesses to types such as Grass, Water, and Ground. Finally, poor offensive presence renders it setup fodder, and it has no reliable recovery, so it is forced to run the aforementioned RestTalk set if it wants any longevity.

Moves
========
Sunny Day summons harsh sunlight, a boon for Fire-types and Chlorophyll Pokemon. Stealth Rock breaks Sturdy and Focus Sashes, and helps offensively inclined teammates net KOs with greater ease. Explosion allows Carbink to put a dent in something once it has set up both sun and Stealth Rock. Magic Coat lets Carbink bounce back status, entry hazards, and most notably, Taunt, which would otherwise render it a lot less useful.

Carbink can try a defensive set that capitalizes on its ability to check some common threats, but it is still setup fodder.

Checks & Counters
########
**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Kricketune, Simisear, and Misdreavus can severely reduce Carbink's usefulness with Taunt, as it becomes unable to set up, recover, or support the team. However, they must be wary of using Taunt against sun support Carbink, as they risk having it bounced back with Magic Coat.

**Attackers with Super Effective STAB Moves**: Due to its low Speed stat and lack of investment, the mono-attacker set is forced out by plenty of common attackers such as Torterra, Carracosta, Piloswine, and Golem, irrespective of the boosts that it might have acquired.

**Setup Sweepers**: Setup sweepers such as Carracosta, Barbaracle, Klang, and Substitute + Swords Dance Bouffalant can easily set up on Carbink and prove troublesome for the rest of its team. The former three even pack a resistance to Explosion.

add to the overview that it's a good check to sneasel

"The tier's specially defensive behemoths such as Lickilicky are problematic for Carbink due to its low Special Attack. Therefore entry hazard support from a teammate such as Garbodor is useful for softening these walls up so that Carbink can take them down." -lickilicky can't touch carbink and just gets set up on. in fact, the only special wall that can even beat this set is spdef flareon, and even then only by pp stalling it out of moonblasts or phazing it.

"Regardless of the boosts it may have accumulated, due to its poor Speed, Carbink generally shouldn't stay in when faced with a foe with a type advantage, Steel-types in particular." -steel type moves are almost non-existent so you should remove that part of this point. Instead, just mention examples like carracosta, tangela, piloswine, etc

"A physically offensive wallbreaker, such as Choice Band variants of Dodrio and Fraxure, can be used to break the specially defensive walls that trouble Carbink." -again, this set has much more trouble with offensive pokemon than defensive ones. also, choice band fraxure really isn't a thing, if you decide to keep this point replace it with cb flareon or something.

"Fighting- or Fire-type Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Rapidash are useful teammates, as although they are rare, Steel-types, such as Metang and Klang really threaten Carbink." again, steel types are one of the least of this sets concerns since they're so rare. instead, mention stuff that beats the water, grass, and ground types that threaten it.

mention in moves of the second set that you will almost never be using toxic, as it generally just wastes sun turns even if you're around long enough to use it. for similar reasons, move it to the last slot as explosion is much more useful. in fact, i don't really like toxic on this set at all, stone edge is probably the best move as it lets you ohko sneasel with prior damage and break haunter's substitutes. it's not overly useful, but neither is toxic.

mention in usage tips that if there is something important on the other team that carbink checks, especially sneasel as it is a huge threat to sun, you should try to keep it alive for later

carbink may be setup bait, but all it needs to do is get sun up turn one and then explode so that your chlorophyll mons will be fast enough to outspeed whatever set up on it. i guess if costa or barbaracle manages to get two smashes up in front of you then you can't outspeed them, but then you can just encore them with volbeat. also, poliwrath isn't really that good on sun because defensive sets just eat through sun turns and offensive sets have their main stab weakened. i guess you could mention the fact that volbeat deals with setup sweepers that set up on carbink when you mention volbeat earlier.

c&c needs to have waaaaay more content. mention offensive pokemon that can force the first set out or 2hko the first set, mainly grass, water, and ground types. mention examples under taunt users. kricketune, simisear, dodrio, etc. i'd just remove the encore section or merge it with the taunt section, as the only common mon that runs encore is kadabra (raichu has better things to be doing and doesn't really have the moveslot for it). mention more setup sweepers, especially ones that carry substitute such as subsd bouffalant and subcm seperior, as explosion doesn't break their subs.

do this and i'll look over it again and stamp if it looks good.

oh and one more thing, this is really minor but mention in oo that dual screens is also outclassed by solrock.

magic coat is legal now, it should be the only slash in the last slot of the second set.

also make note of this under taunt in c&c

Honestly, I feel as though a defensive set viable. It's able to beat both Normal-types and Flareon while also winning against a large portion of the physical attackers in the tier. Fairy typing is also super nice for switching into Knock Off (though loss of Lefties sucks :[) It can also set up Stealth Rock. Recovery is an issue, but between Leftovers, Rest, and possible Wish support, I don't think it's too big of an issue. Here's the set I was envisioning:

Carbink @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Rock Slide

Obviously there may be a better spread or even moveset, but overall is seems pretty effective for certain stall teams.

Added Magic Coat, Magnemite. Also, what are your thoughts on the set that LightningLuxray has suggested? Main set, or OO?
That set is oo at best imo. It stresses on the fact that carbink is set up fodder and it draws away from the point of carbink. Carbinks niche isnt staying around all game walling everything, because as soon as a pokemon gets a substitute up, you are forced out. Crobink allows it to do damage, whilst threatening opposing pokemon and providing a wincon for stall. Most other rock types can wall similar pokemon, whilst actually doing something in the meantime (the only threat this poke can beat compared to others is sneasel, however that is not niche enough considering crobink also beats it). From experience with stall i would never put that on a team.

In the overview i would mention its niche other over rock types as a sun setter (which all i see is magic coat)

Mention dual screens in oo although say it has competition from solrock (magic coat is a cool niche)

With the first set, i would remove wallbreakers from TO, this set is only worth using on stall. However add toxic spikes, allowing damage to be done when it is setting up, it also allows it to beat other passive sweepers like vigoroth.

Lastly mention magic coat in the UT of the second set

Otherwise looks good

It has way more than magic coat over other sun setters, it is faster, bulkier all around, and lacks (common) 4x weaknesses, so it's the best sr + sun user in pu. This should definitely be in the overview.

Also, leafeon > sawsbuck in team options (you can still mention deer if you want, just make it a minor mention).

Not much to comment on as this is done well

Say that rest also clears its status

Add another section in c&c, about defensive type advantage, eg ninetales sets up np and can energy ball, garbodor hazards and can haze, steel types laugh in its face
Mention Klang in set up sweepers. Also explosion can break bouffs and serperiors sub

Update and i will stamp, Psywaves

Overview probly needs to talk a bit more about crobink? Like, at all more?

Plus, no shortage of weaknesses, you could just mention steel+grass weaknesses and call it a day (or just grass and emphasize that theyre common types and w/e
Comments are here, feel free to ask about anything.
Firstly, there are a few sentences that really serve no purpose. For example, the first sentence basically provides the information that:

-carbink gets sr
-carbink can set sun for sun teams

The second sentence heavily implies both of these things, especially the second one, so the first sentence almost has no reason to be there.

Many other sentences have been combined or cut down for the same reasons. Also, moonblast isn't really about not being taunt bait, more about you needing an attack in order to sweep.

Status conditions that might have been inflicted->status.

Can you honestly not set up on tangela? Jw

Dude, p.much mons that take advantage of sun are chloro/fires, no need for so many words honestly

Volbeat was a such as, so you can't just continue on talking about it specifically without doing something about it.

Stone edge: how much prior damage? This is generally a dumb phrase; magikarp can ohko arceus with 'some prior damage', which is a sign of how damn vague this phrase really is.

Start of OO=super fluff.

Checks and counters: taunt blocks all of that, no need to elaborate further on which set.

Overview
########
Carbink has access to the always-useful Stealth Rock and can function as a weather setter on sun teams. In addition to this, it is faster and has greater overall bulk than most Stealth Rock users, andwhile lacksing (common) 4x weaknesses, making it arguably the best Stealth Rock + sun setter in PU. Carbink's defensive typing means that it is a good check to the omnipresent Sneasel, and its Sturdy lets it set up something even against foes that would OHKO it. However, its lacking movepool does it no favors, and its overall bulk is undermined by a poor HP stat. Additionally, its typing leaves it with no shortage of weaknesses to types such as Water and Ground. Finally, poor offensive presence renders it setup fodder, and it has no reliable recovery, so it is forced to run a RestTalk set if it wants to stick around.

ROCK WITH EYES
########
name: ROCK WITH EYES
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
ability: Clear Body
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
nature: Bold

Moves
========
Calm Mind lets Carbink compensate for its naturally lacking Special Attack, (rc) while upping its special bulk. Moonblast means that Carbink is not complete and utter Taunt bait, and is a STAB move with decent enough coverage. Athat will do good damage after several uses of Calm Mind, Carbink will actually be able to do some good damage with Moonblast. Rest is Carbink's sole means of recovery, (rc) and also removes any status, (ac) while conditions it migwht have had inflicted on it. Sleep Talk allows Carbink to continue to boost its stats or attack while sleeping.

Set Details
========
HP and Defense are maximized to increase Carbink's physical bulk,(ac) whsilnce Calm Mind covers its Special Defense. Clear Body prevents Carbink's stats from being lowered, meaning that it won't be subject to the odd drop from an opponent's attack. Leftovers gives Carbink passive recovery, which increases its longevity.

Usage Tips
========
Send in Carbink against a Pokemon that doesn't threaten it, such as Flareon or Dodrio, so that it can set up. Regardless of the boosts it might have accumulated, due to its poor Speed Carbink generally shouldn't stay in when faced with a foe with a type advantage, such as Carracosta, Tangela, or Piloswine. When Carbink has been worn down sufficiently, use Rest to restore health and over then course of the two following turns, use Sleep Talk over the course of the two following turns. It is safest for Carbink to attempt to set up once its checks and counters have been worn down or outright KOed by teammates.

Team Options
========
Teammates capable of dealing with Water-, Grass-, and Ground-types are ideal. For example, Tangela can dispatch most Water- and Ground-types, and Flareon can dispose of Grass-types. Toxic Spikes support from a Pokemon such as Garbodor or Roselia means that passive damage is inflicted on the opponent while Carbink sets up, and helps it beat other passive sweepers such as Vigoroth.

Sun Support
########
name: Sun Support
move 1: Sunny Day
move 2: Stealth Rock
move 3: Explosion
move 4: Magic Coat
ability: Sturdy
item: Heat Rock
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly

Moves
========
Sunny Day summons the sunlight;, (ac)a boon for Fire-types and other Pokemon that take advantage of it, such as those with Chlorophyll Pokemon. Stealth Rock hurts incoming Pokemon and breaks Sturdy and Focus Sashes. It is useful, forand helpings offensively inclined teammates net KOs with greater ease. Explosion allows Carbink to put a dent in something once it has set up both the sun and Stealth Rock. Magic Coat lets Carbink bounce back status, entry hazards, and, (ac) most notably, Taunt, which would otherwise render it a lot less useful.

Set Details
========
Maximum HP evens out Carbink's overall bulk, and maximum Speed lets it get up Stealth Rock and the sun as fast as possible. Sturdy ensures that Carbink can summon the weather or set up Stealth Rock even against opponents that would otherwise KO it, (with the exception of Mold Breaker oppPonkemonts). A Heat Rock extends the duration of the sunlight to eight turns, allowing teammates to take advantage of it for the longest possible amount of time.

Usage Tips
========
Carbink functions well as a lead, though it can be brought in any time your team needs sun support. Carbink should always set up Stealth Rock first and explode after setting up both sunlight and Stealth Rock so as not to waste precious weather turns. If Carbink only has the opportunity to set up one thing before fainting, it should prioritize summoning the sun, unless teammates capable of taking advantage of it have fainted. If there is an important Pokemon such as Sneasel on the other team that Carbink checks, you should try to keep it alive for later on in the match. Magic Coat is thould be used if you predict that the foe will use Taunt or set up an entry hazard.

Team Options
========
This set should only be used on dedicated weather teams. Pokemon that can take advantage of sun with their abilities and/or moves, such as Victreebel, Leafeon, Sawsbuck, Ninetales, and Flareon, are good teammates, as they might be able to sweep with sun support. Carbink wants to be backed by a teammate that can summon sunlight later on the match, such as Volbeat.; Volbeat in particular can also use Encore to deal with the setup sweepers that try to use Carbink as setup bait.

Other Options
########
Carbink hasn't got many other viable options to utilize. Although not overly useful, Stone Edge is an option for the second set as it lets Carbinko OHKO Sneasel with prior damage and break Haunter's Substitutes. Toxic is an option on the second set to let Carbink put a timer on its opponents, though it is almost never going to be using it, as it generally just wastes sun turns even if Carbink sticks around long enough to use it. Carbink can set up dual screens, but struggles to get both screens and Stealth Rock up, and is outclassed at doing so by Pokemon such as Meowstic-M and Solrock due to its poor Speed and nonexistent offensive presence. Carbink can set up Trick Room for its teammates and proceed to explode. Power Gem is an alternative STAB move to Moonblast that can be used should you be absolutely desperate for Carbink to have some Rock-type coverage, though its lower power and inferior overall coverage means that one should definitely consider Moonblast before it. Carbink can try a defensive set that capitalizes on its ability to check some common threats, but it is still setup fodder.

Checks & Counters
########
**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Kricketune, Simisear, and Dodrio can severely reduce Carbink's usefulness with Taunt, as it cannot set up and, recover in the case of the first set, or support the team in thef secoTaund set's cased. However, they must be wary of using Taunt against sun support Carbink, as they risk having it bounced back with Magic Coat.

**Attackers with Super Effective STAB Moves**: Due to its low Speed stat and lack of investment, the first set is forced out by plenty of common attackers, such as Torterra, Carracosta, Piloswine, and Golem, irrespective of the boosts that Carbinkt might have acquired.

**Setup Sweepers**: Setup sweepers such as Carracosta, Barbaracle, Klang, Substitute + Swords Dance Bouffalant, and Substitute + Calm Mind Serperior can easily set up on Carbink and prove troublesome for the rest of its team. The former three even pack a resistance to Explosion.

**Pokemon That Resist Moonblast**: Pokemon that resist Moonblast will be able to come in on Carbink and proceed to trouble it. For example, Ninetales can set up with Nasty Plot and use Energy Ball, Garbodor can set up entry hazards and can reset Carbink's boosts with Haze, and Steel-types such as Klang and Metang laugh in Carbink's face, as they can KO it with ease or use it as an opportunity to use Shift Gear andor Stealth Rock, respectively.
