[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
Dark Pulse is the primary STAB move on this set due to its excellent neutral coverage and lack of drawbacks. Draco Meteor is the secondary STAB move, which is better for achieving OHKOs. Flash Cannon heavily damages Fairy-type switch-ins such as Clefable, which would otherwise wall Hydreigon's STAB combination. Flamethrower nets more reliable damage than Fire Blast and still OHKOes both Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn, while Fire Blast allows Hydreigon to OHKO Steel-types like Klefki and is generally recommended if Hydreigon runs a Timid nature. U-turn is also an option to gain momentum and ease predictions. Earth Power can be used to OHKO Heatran but is generally inferior to Fire Blast as a coverage move.

Set Details
========
Maximum Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature maximize Hydreigon's power output. Maximum Speed investment is used to outspeed threats such as neutral-natured Kyurem-B and Excadrill outside of sand. Levitate gives Hydreigon a useful immunity to Ground-type moves. Choice Specs is the item of choice to maximize Hydreigon's wallbreaking potential. Timid is an option to outpace neutral-natured base 100s like Adamant Mega Medicham, as well as Kyurem-B. Flamethrower should not be used with Timid variants due to the drop in power.

Usage Tips
========
Hydreigon should be used early- and mid-game to pressure opposing teams with its powerful attacks. Usually, it is best to use Dark Pulse because there are very few good Pokemon that resist it, forcing them to switch in and be worn down. Draco Meteor should be used when trying to achieve OHKOs or if opposing Fairy- and Steel-types have been eliminated; be wary of the setup opportunities it provides to foes because of the Special Attack drop. Flash Cannon should be used on predicted switches to hit Pokemon such as Clefable hard. It is not recommended to switch Hydreigon into many attacks due to its numerous weaknesses. However, it can usually switch into passive pokemon very well. VoltTurn support is recommended with Hydreigon to get an ideal matchup and limit the damage Hydreigon takes as it switches in.

Team Options
========
Hydreigon really appreciates the VoltTurn support provided by Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Tornadus-T. Mega Metagross forms a potent core with Hydreigon due to its ability to take on Fairy-types and potentially Pursuit trap Hydreigon's checks such as Latios. Mega Scizor is a good partner for Hydreigon, as it can also defeat Fairy-types and can clean up weakened threats with Bullet Punch. It also boasts setup and recovery options, which Mega Metagross does not have. Jirachi has similar type synergy and can also support Hydreigon with U-turn, Stealth Rock, and Healing Wish. Landorus-T and Garchomp are solid partners that help to check physical attackers such as Mega Medicham and set up Stealth Rock to help Hydreigon achieve more 2HKOs. Mega Diancie forms a potent wallbreaker duo with Hydreigon due to the limited number of switch-ins both of them have. Hydreigon can take advantage of Jirachi's weakness to Dark-type moves and Mega Diancie helps in return by pressuring Pokemon such as Chansey and non-Surf Latios. Mega Lopunny is a nice partner for pressuring offensive builds, which can check Hydreigon with speedy attackers, and it also defeats Chansey, which is the only true answer to this Hydreigon set. In return, Hydreigon threatens out bulky Psychic-types, lures and weakens Clefable with Flash Cannon, and usually can weaken bulkier teams. Dugtrio is a nice partner because it can trap Heatran, Tyranitar, Mega Diancie, and, most importantly, Chansey.

I'd say give Focus Blast a mention in moves because it blasts Tran while also blasting all of what Fire Blast does a number on barring MZor

p2

Banned deucer.
i think you can get away with slashing flamethrower after fire blast, much more consistent, still nails sciz and ferro and the only really notable calc is this
252+ SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Klefki: 248-292 (77.9 - 91.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Choice Specs Hydreigon Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Klefki: 302-356 (94.9 - 111.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

just make sure in usage tips that you always run fire blast on timid ones in order to make up for the drop in power

timid nature is worth a mention imo, gets the jump on things like adamant cham and is still strong as fuck

more emphasis on stuff that beats chansey in TO since thats like the only good actual answer to specs hydra, sciz is also really nice with hydra for the same reason as mgross but it has roost which helps it last longer

think thats it 1/3

although i dont think it deserves a slash, i think uturn deserves a mention as it easily baits in stuff like chansey, allowing something like lopunny or screech dugtrio to come in safely, but mentioning that it worsens coverage is fine

speaking of lopunny, a mention in to would be dope, as hydre kills/lures so many things that annoy lop, like fat grounds, fat grasses, fat psychics, and clefable, while lop can handle fast threats like tornt, terrakion, and weavile (to an extent at least), obliterate chansey, and clean up later when all of lop's checks get weakened

i wouldnt bother listing lando and chomp as medi checks, ice punch is pretty damn common, at least what ive seen

HailFall

my cancer is sun and my leo is moon
i dont think fire move is that valuable at all honestly. if your mega scizor revenge killer is hydra youve got a problem and both ferro and sciz are 2hkoed by dark pulse anyways. basically the only thing it does is hit klefki which is uncommon anyways. i guess it hits bisharp too but i dont even have to calc to know draco does an insane amount to it. i think u turn is generally the best option for the last move and deserves to be the first slash as it really eases mind games that can cause issues with spex hydra and can help to grab momentum on stuff like chansey that hard walls you. just my opinion on the matter but w/e.

fire moves purpose is to ohko those targets, not 2hko

ferro clicks leech, sciz clicks bug stab, +2 bisharps wins, it has a shit ton of utility and it deserves its slot. u turn defeats the purpose of this set. if chansey is a problem, just run the lo set with superpower lol

also, i would mention surf in moves bludz

If you were to mention U-turn it'd be over Flash Cannon if anything. Hydreigon is pretty consistent at baiting Clefable and that just loses to Dugtrio anyway (eases prediction vs. it, as clicking U-turn isn't exactly gonna backfire much and doesn't risk being locked into a questionable move if they don't go to Clef), and it is still nice for the Chansey thing 'cause LO gets worn down super fast compared to this set as well as not nuking stuff as hard. Like, just given that Dugtrio is such a good partner for this 'mon it's not like having a way to get it in against the correct 'mon is unwelcome.

Due to Klefki being not all that relevant in the current meta, I'd prefer seeing Flamethrower being slashed first, because in this scenario the reliability at the cost of power is more than worth it. Also mention Surf in moves like Vertex said; has nice blanket coverage vs mons like Heatran, Landorus-T, and Mega Diancie. Add Dugtrio to team options; traps Heatran, Tyranitar (trapping this means you can get away with spamming Dark Pulse vs sand teams more), and, more importantly, Chansey, which their removal benefits this set significantly. While on the topic, throw in U-turn into moves just because of the synergy it has with Dugtrio as well.

looks good 2/3

U-turn is def worthy of a mention b/c U-turn also helps Hydre be a psuedo-stallbreaker - spam U-turn into Chansey and if Chansey gets too weakened, then Hydre absolutely fucks stall, but if Hydre is paired w/ a physical breaker, then they both compliment each other well when Hydre has U-turn. Otherwise, however, U-turn isn't all too useful, so it isn't worth a slash -- overall, glad it's added. While speaking of moves mentioned, but not slashed, is Surf really worth mentioning? You mentioned Heatran, LandoT, and Gliscor. LandoT and Gliscor get dicked by STABs and Heatran doesn't even like Dark Pulse, but Focus Blast mops it up. I know it can be spammed in some circumstances and seen as convenient, but I don't find any circumstances where Surf actually is worth the moveslot given Hydre's movepool, so I'd personally remove this.

otherwise, looks great!_! 3/3

Flamethrower nets more reliable damage than Fire Blast and still OHKOs OHKOes both Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Fire Blast allows Hydreigon to OHKO Steel-types such as Klefki, (RC) and is generally recommended if you run Timid nature. U-turn is also an option to gain momentum and ease predictions. Earth Power is also an option can be used (just for the sake of repetition) to OHKO Heatran, (RC) but is generally inferior coverage to Fire Blast.

Maximum Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature provide Hydreigon with maximum power output. Maximum Speed investment is used to outspeed threats such as neutral-natured (hyphen) Kyurem-Black and Excadrill outside of sand. Levitate is Hydreigon's only ability and gives it a useful immunity to Ground-type moves. Choice Specs is the item of choice (no italics please :( ) to maximize Hydreigon's wallbreaking potential. Hydreigon should be used early- and mid-game to pressure opposing teams with its powerful attacks. Usually, (AC) it is best to use Dark Pulse because it has very few good resists Pokemon that resist it ("resist" isn't a noun, unfortunately) and forces them to come out. Draco Meteor should be used when trying to achieve OHKOs or if opposing Fairy-types and Steel-types have been eliminated and Steel-types are gone. Be wary of the setup opportunities it provides to opponents foes because of the Special Attack drop. Flash Cannon should be used on predicted switch-outs switches to resists Pokemon (Fairy-types?? idk, but don't use resists) such as Clefable. It is not recommended to switch Hydreigon into many attacks due to its numerous weaknesses, (RC) . (period) However, (AC) it can usually switch into passive pokemon very well. VoltTurn support is recommended with Hydreigon to achieve ideal matchups and limit damage as you it switches in.

Mega Diancie forms a potent wallbreaker duo with Hydreigon due to the limited number of switch-ins for both. Hydreigon can take advantage of Jirachi (how?) and Mega Diancie helps in return by pressuring Pokemon such as Chansey and non-Surf Latios. Mega Lopunny is a nice partner for pressuring offensive builds, (AC) which can check Hydreigon with speedy attackers, and it also defeats Chansey, (AC) which is the only true answer to this Hydreigon set. In return, Hydreigon threatens out bulky Psychic-types, lures and KOes (or weakens, whichever is most fitting) Clefable with Flash Cannon, and tends to weaken bulkier teams in general. Dugtrio is a nice partner because it can trap Heatran, Tyranitar, (AC) and Mega Diancie. Most importantly, though, (AC) it can trap Chansey which is a true counter to Hydreigon.
