*Comfey has a niche as a Fairy-type utility Pokemon with access to multiple forms of healing in conjunction with Triage.
*Triage gives it priority on these healing moves, making it able to threaten other defensive mons and Substitute users as well as heal itself before its opponent can attack.
*It's Fairy typing itself gives it key resistances to Dark and Fighting types, both common attacking types in UnderUsed.
*Sits at a good speed tier so even while uninvested it is still able to outpace slow bulky Pokemon such as Scizor or speed tie with uninvested base 100s.
*Comfey can also recover HP at a very rapid rate due to Leech Seed in conjuction with Leftovers.
*Comfey can be outclassed by Klefki and Clefable as utility Fairy types.
*Its defenses are decent, but its low base HP impairs this.
*Pure Fairy typing also hinders it, as it is weak to one of the most common attacking types in Steel.
*The best STAB attack it gets is very weak and misses out on OHKOs like Hydreigon and Mega Sharpedo.
*Taunt completely shuts down Comfey, rendering it useless against most Pokemon in the UnderUsed tier.

[SET]
name: Utility
move 1: Draining Kiss
move 2: Leech Seed
move 3: Synthesis
move 4: Taunt / Aromatherapy
item: Leftovers
ability: Triage
nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe

Moves

========

* Draining Kiss gives Comfey a priority damaging move, which functions as a healing move due to healing up 75% of the damage dealt each use, and also can outpace faster Dragons like Hydreigon.
* Leech Seed, while not affected by Triage, is a good move on Comfey because it lets it recover more HP each turn while also sapping its opponent’s HP.
* Synthesis gives Comfey a reliable recovery method that will always recover a great amount of HP unlike the unstable/low-recovery properties of Draining Kiss and Leech Seed respectively.
* Taunt allows Comfey to shut down walls and setup sweepers that try to set up on it such as Clefable and Scizor.
* Aromatherapy can also be used in the last slot for some team support, and helping Comfey’s teammates recover from a damaging status condition while simultaneously helping Comfey out if it is statused.

Set Details

========

* Leftovers gives Comfey more recovery, and it will be healing significantly in conjunction with Leech Seed.
* 252 HP EVs let Comfey live a Choice Banded Bullet Punch from an Adamant Scizor before Stealth Rock.
* 236 Defense with a Bold nature is the best option as the majority of threats to Comfey are physical attackers and allows Comfey to not get OHKOed by dangerous moves such as Choice Band Bewear’s Return and Life Orb Bisharp’s Iron Head.
* 20 Speed EVs allow Comfey to outspeed max speed base 60s and Leech Seed or Taunt them before they can do anything.

Usage Tips

========
*Make sure to bring in Comfey on a Pokemon it can stall out successfully or wall entirely, and don't bring it on a Pokemon that can put good offensive pressure on it.
*Comfey is useful on stall teams as a stallbreaker with Taunt and can wear down other stall teams with Leech Seed.
*Be wary of Taunt when using Comfey, as it completely shuts it down.
*Other stally Pokemon such as Clefable can use Comfey as setup bait, so do not use Comfey against those Pokemon if Aromatherapy is used over Taunt.

Team Options

========

* Keldeo is a great teammate for Comfey, comfortably checking Steel and Fire types that wall Comfey while also providing good defensive synergy with Comfey.
* Other Fighting types such as Bewear and Cobalion can also provide great support, breaking through special walls which Comfey struggles to defeat.
* Ground-types, most notably Gliscor and Hippowdon, pair well with Comfey as they can kill the Fire types and Steel types that resists Comfey’s moves, or have no effect from its utility moves. Gliscor and Hippowdon can also form a good defensive core with Comfey.
* Cleaners such as Swords Dance Scizor enjoy Comfey’s ability to wear down the opposition relatively fast, which allows them to sweep.

Other Options

=============
* Hidden Power Fire can be used to 2HKO Scizor and 3HKO Bisharp, but it has little use outside of this.
* Calm Mind is also another option which allows Comfey to possibly become a sweeper in the right scenarios, but it is completely outclassed by Clefable in this way.
* Toxic is a possible option, and in conjunction with Leech Seed allows Comfey to wear down walls at a fairly fast rate.

Checks and Counters

===================

**Steel Types**: Scizor, Bisharp, and Cobalion all destroy Comfey with their Steel-type STAB attacks, and all of them can use Comfey as setup bait if Comfey is lacking Taunt. Forretress and Klefki can completely wall Comfey. The former can kill it with Gyro Ball, and both use it as hazard setup bait. Forretress also can Rapid Spin Comfey’s Leech Seed off of it.

**Poison Types**: Gengar outspeeds even max speed Comfey and OHKOs it with Sludge Wave, regardless of whether it is running Life Orb. Tentacruel renders Comfey completely useless with Liquid Ooze making all of Comfey’s healing moves with the exception of Synthesis hurt it instead of healing it. Nidoqueen and Nidoking also outspeed Comfey and OHKO with a Poison STAB move, boosted by Life Orb and Sheer Force most of the time, and even without Life Orb it is still an OHKO for both of the Nidos.

**Grass Types**: Grass types are immune to Leech Seed, Comfey's main move for wearing down opponents, and most of them do not take much damage from Draining Kiss. Amoonguss and Roserade earn special mentions because they resist Draining Kiss and mostly do not mind Taunt.

**Taunt users**: While Taunted, Comfey is completely useless. Unless the opponent is weak to Fairy, Comfey will do almost nothing to them while the opponent can proceed to set up or damage the rest of Comfey’s team when they switch in.

not qc but...

you could probably either add a section about Grass-types (immune to Leech Seed and the grass-types in UU can take multiple draining kisses) or mention Amoonguss and Roserade since they are immune to Leech Seed/Resist Draining Kiss/Don't mind Taunt (Amoonguss is typically Spore + 3 Attacks)

252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe is a better spread than 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 Spe. Still lets you survive the same physical attacks, but gives you slightly better HP.

Also I'd just scrap Mental Herb. Giving up leftovers recovery for an insurance against Taunt that only works once seems like an absolutely terrible trade to me, especially since it can use Draining Kiss to get around some Taunt users. Comfey simply does not apply enough pressure to make dodging a Taunt ever worth it.

You may want to add the detail that Leech Seed is not affected by Triage (Triage only boosts moves that heal during the turn, not at the end of the turn like Leech Seed, Aqua Ring, Grassy Terrain, Ingrain, etc.); it's easy for people to assume otherwise.
