The hax is back.

    [Pros]

It has a massive base 147 Attack.

Its access to Taunt prevents phazing and crippling status.

It is extremely difficult to counter.

Its ability, Mold Breaker allows it to hit Levitate users.

It has access to great boosting moves in Dragon Dance and Swords Dance.

    [Cons]

It has low defenses, and is worn down by entry hazards.

It has a mediocre base Speed.

It faces competition from other Dragons, including Dragonite.

name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Poison Jab

    ability: Mold Breaker
item: Lum Berry
evs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
nature: Adamant

Despite facing competition from other offensive Dragon Dance users such as Dragonite and Salamence, Haxorus is still a solid user of the move. Haxorus will also have trouble finding time to set up, but it's hard to stop once it gets going. Haxorus has an easier time getting past Sylveon, Azumarill, and Togekiss than Dragonite or Salamence, as they lack a strong move against them. Haxorus also isn't weak to Stealth Rock and has Mold Breaker, which allows it to KO Bronzong and Rotom-W without locking itself into Outrage. Not getting OHKOed by Ice Shard users is also a plus. Outrage, yet again is the STAB move of choice here, hitting a large portion of the metagame for damage. Earthquake, again, grants insurance against Bronzong and Forretress. Finally, Poison Jab once again prevents the Fairy-types from walling it. An EV spread with max Speed and a Jolly Nature is an option here.

name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 3: Earthquake / Taunt
move 4: Poison Jab

    ability: Mold Breaker
item: Lum Berry
evs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
nature: Adamant

Swords Dance Haxorus is the perfect definition for the term "one-turn power". With this set, Haxorus can set up a Swords Dance on something that it scares out and obliterate the opponent's team with its off-the- charts Attack stat. Outrage is obviously the main STAB move in this set, hitting a large portion of the metagame for neutral or super effective damage. Earthquake is used to hit Bronzong and Forretress for solid damage. Taunt on the other hand prevents phazers from prematurely ending Haxorus's sweep as well as helping it beat Skarmory one-on-one. Finally, Poison Jab prevents him from being walled by Fairy-types. An EV spread with max Speed and a Jolly Nature is an option here.

    [Checks and Counters]

Skarmory can switch into boosted Outrages and either Roost off the damage, or set up entry hazards in Haxorus's face all day long.

Faster revenge killers, such as Garchomp and Salamence can revenge kill Haxorus with their STAB of choice.

Pokemon with strong priority moves badly damage Haxorus due to its relative frailness. Mamoswine and Weavile get special mentions because Haxorus is weak to their STAB Ice Shard, while Scizor resists Outrage and can 2HKO with Bullet Punch.

How about a mention of Poison Jab, so that fairies don't completely wall Haxorus?

superpower/low kick is a 5th gen move tutor move, it'll be unavailable for 2 months. not buying into sub anyway, what are you even subbing for? is there a reason? seems like this initial set should be sd or dd/outrage/eq/poison jab

i think you're overhyping the early utility of aqua tail, rain last 5 turns so haxorus isn't really going to be a mon absuing it with aqua tail, that seems so weirdly specific. we don't have landorus either atm and afaik outrage is equal damage on gliscor/skarm, while eq hits forry harder (this is without rain).

Your entire analysis is littered with mentions of illegal Pokemon. For instance, it doesn't face competition from Kyurem-B because Kyurem-B does not exist. You need to remove them and replace them with other Pokemon (ie, rather than mention Kyurem-B you can mention Dragonite, etc.)

Your analysis would be a lot better if you didn't blatantly lift set comments / item choices from the gen V analysis. You don't need to impress us with the specifics; just get the basics down and you should do fine. The basics in this case would be Choice Band, Dragon Dance and Swords Dance sets.

    Choice Band (open)
    Haxorus @ Choice Band
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Adamant nature
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Poison Jab / Stone Edge
    - Dual Chop (KOing sash Smeargle before it can Spore you is worth it)

    Dragon Dance (open)
    Haxorus @ Lum Berry
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Adamant nature
    - Dragon Dance
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Poison Jab

    Swords Dance (open)
    Haxorus @ Lum Berry
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Adamant nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake / Taunt
    - Poison Jab

In your cons sections, take out the mention of Kyurem-B. We're not mentioning any Pokemon that aren't available yet. I've spoken about Haxorus to Snunch and he thinks Haxorus looks fine as do I.

You don't need Poison Jab on the CB set. Azumarill is 2HKOed by EQ, and Togekiss OHKOed by Stone Edge. Only Stone Edge should be in the 3rd slot.

Except Haxorus doesn't get Stone Edge.
Go back to using Poison Jab, as ohkoes on both of these Pokemon is very important.

Okay, so on QC we're having some doubt about how effective the Choice Band set really is. This is mainly due to being locked into Poison Jab or Dragon type attacks being pretty terrible options right now, as it allows Fairy and Steel types to easily come in for free to set up. Somalia, Dice, alexwolf, and I all agree that Choice Band Haxorus seems pretty terrible, so I suggest removing it from the OP. I think once set is removed Somalia will be more than happy to give the last stamp to you.

Take out Terrakion from Checks and Counters because it's unavailable.

For Pros and Cons, I'd say that one of the pros to using Haxorus is Mold Breaker -- allowing it to Earthquake the likes of Rotom-W and Bronzong, even Gengar. I also don't know why Taunt is listed as a pro to Haxorus yet isn't in any of the recommended sets. I'd remove Taunt as a pro to Haxorus if it isn't even worthy to even be a slash on either of its two main sets.

EDIT: just noticed you have taunt slashed on the first set. you can leave it in as a pro then.

I also don't know if I'd say that Haxorus has good coverage moves if it doesn't even get Stone Edge / Fire Fang / Fire move. I suppose it isn't too bad considering how Poison Jab and Earthquake cover Fairy- and Steel-type attacks...but that type of coverage is walled completely by Skarmory, and stuff like Ferrothorn and Forretress can also join in on the fun since you can't kill them in one shot. If anything, I'd call it a con or just leave it out completely. Cause seriously, no Fire Punch / Fire Fang / Stone Edge on Haxorus kind of sucks.

Add in the pros its two boosting moves, Dragon Dance and Swords Dance.

Remove any mention of bluffing a Choice Band set as this set doesn't exist.

When talking about Taunt, mention how it lets Haxorus beat Skarmory one on one.

Finally, you didn't mention any reason why one would want to use Dragon Dance Haxorus over its competitors, you just said it is outclassed. Mention that Haxorus can get past Togekiss, Azumarill, and Sylveon way easier than Salamence and Dragonite, which lack a strong move against them. Also, add that it is not Stealth Rock weak, can OHKO Bronzong and Rotom-W (without the need to lock itself into Outrage), and doesn't instantly get OHKOed by Ice Shard users.
