[OVERVIEW]

Corsola has alright bulk in combination with a large movepool and a great ability in Regenerator; however, it's still outclassed by Carracosta, which has an offensive presence and access to Knock Off, despite its small niche in its reliable recovery. Unfortunately, Corsola doesn't have the sheer defenses needed for that to matter. Corsola's poor offensive stats prevent it from being a prominent attacker, mean that it is walled by Grass-types and opposing bulky Water-types, and make it only useful on defensive teams. Corsola's defensive typing can hold it back, as it is weak to common types in the metagame such as Fighting, Grass, Electric, and Ground, and it easily falls prey to coverage moves. Regenerator enables Corsola to become a pivot, although Tangela is better at this job.

[SET]
name: Rejected Ninja Turtle
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Recover
move 3: Scald
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Regenerator
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Stealth Rock breaks foes' Focus Sash and Sturdy as well as weakening them for Corsola's teammates. Recover allows Corsola to regain its health and can help it stall foes until they are KOed by Toxic or another status condition. Scald is Corsola's only attacking option and offers chip damage and the potential to burn a foe, which can stop physical attackers in their tracks. Toxic weakens foes to the point where Corsola can stall them out or a teammate can come in to take them out. Toxic is also beneficial to take on Grass- and Water-types that try to switch in against Corsola.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Special Defense EVs allow Corsola to function as a specially defensive wall and better take on special attackers such as Floatzel and Kadabra. Leftovers offers a bit of recovery per turn, which can be important when paired with Recover. Regenerator restores Corsola's health as it switches out, allowing it to come back onto the field with more HP.

Usage Tips
========

If Corsola is on the field with low HP and you need to save it to take on a threatening Pokemon, switch it out if possible to allow for a Regenerator boost. Just because this Corsola set uses Stealth Rock doesn't mean that you always have to use it as your lead, although setting up Stealth Rock is its primary objective. If needed, before Corsola sets up Stealth Rock, it can opt to go for Toxic or Scald against a setup sweeper or when you predict a threatening or bulky Pokemon to switch in. After it sets up its entry hazard, Corsola should attempt to weaken the opposing team with Scald and Toxic. Attempt not to get Corsola statused, as it can get weakened fairly easily when afflicted with Toxic or a burn. Corsola can switch into threatening Pokemon in the metagame such as Kadabra, Floatzel, and Simipour.

Team Options
========

Corsola fits best on defensive teams, as it lacks an offensive presence and needs teammates to support it, in taking on status and super effective hits. Grass-types such as Torterra, Roselia, Gourgeist-XL, and Tangela assist Corsola by resisting Electric-, Ground-, and Grass-type moves, while Corsola resists Fire- and Ice-type moves for them. Electric-types such as Stunfisk and Rotom-F can take on Electric-type moves for Corsola, although they share a weakness to Ground-type moves, bar Rotom-F. Rotom-F can also damage Grass- and Ground-types with Blizzard. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can take on Ground- and Fighting-types, which threaten Corsola. Flying- and Fire-types such as Jumpluff, Dodrio, Ninetales, and Simisear can take on Grass-types for Corsola. Poliwrath, Zweilous, Machoke, Stoutland, and Ursaring can absorb status for Corsola and allow it to survive longer, although Poliwrath and Zweilous have to be running a RestTalk set to do so. Similarly, clerics such as Grumpig and Lickilicky can heal off Corsola's status. Setup sweepers such as Duosion, Clefairy, and Klang appreciate Corsola's entry hazards, which weakens the opposing team. Quilladin and Roselia can set up Spikes, which work well in conjunction with Stealth Rock in weakening foes. Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can block foes from removing Corsola's Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin, while Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Zweilous appreciate entry hazards and status from Corsola, as they can force a switch with Circle Throw and Dragon Tail, respectively.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Calm Mind set with Calm Mind / Power Gem / Scald / filler could be used, but it has little over other setup sweepers, such as Simipour and Carracosta. Magic Coat can be used to bounce back status moves and entry hazards, but it requires prediction and takes up a valuable moveslot. Power Gem can be used instead of Toxic, but it isn't as effective and almost guarantees Corsola would lose to setup sweepers. Mirror Coat could surprise special attackers, although Corsola isn't bulky enough to pull it off effectively. Ice Beam can be used to better take on Grass-types, although Corsola lacks offensive presence. Corsola can run a Choice Band set in combination with Hustle, but this set doesn't have a reason to be used over Carracosta or Barbaracle and has a chance to miss.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Roselia, Tangela, Jumpluff, Sawsbuck, Leafeon, Torterra, and other Grass-types can easily take out Corsola with their Grass-type STAB moves and take little to no damage from Scald, although they can be crippled if burned. Roselia is a perfect counter to Corsola, as it resists Scald and is not affected by Toxic, and it can even set up Spikes against it.

**Fighting-types**: Machoke and Poliwrath, the premier Fighting-types in the metagame, can use Corsola's attacks to their advantage, as Machoke can gain a Guts boost from a Scald burn or Toxic and Poliwrath can recover health by switching into Scald, thanks to Water Absorb.

**Electric-types**: Rotom-F, Raichu, Zebstrika, and Electabuzz can take advantage of Corsola, dealing massive damage with their Electric-type STAB moves as well as gaining momentum with Volt Switch. However, they fear getting burned or poisoned.

**Physical Attackers**: Due to Corsola's only passable defensive stats, it takes huge amounts of damage from physically attacking Grass-types such as Torterra and Leafeon, Electric-types such as Luxray, and even Pokemon with neutral attacks, such as Barbaracle.

**Super Effective Coverage**: Pokemon such as Rapidash, Stoutland, and Ursaring can threaten Corsola with their coverage moves, with Rapidash using Drill Run or Wild Charge, Stoutland using Superpower, and Ursaring using Close Combat.

Overview: When you talk about Corsola's wide movepool, mention that its poor offensive stats limits it to being a wall.

Set: Tbh, Specially defensive Corsola isn't good at all as even with the investment you're still 2HKOd by common special attackers:

252+ SpA Grumpig Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Corsola: 180-212 (57.3 - 67.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Poliwrath Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Corsola: 230-272 (73.2 - 86.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Life Orb Simipour Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Corsola: 153-183 (48.7 - 58.2%) -- 62.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock)

With that said, Corsola should be physically defensive to check Normal- and Flying-types.

Set Details: Change the wording to reference the new EV spread.

Usage Tips: Give examples of Pokemon Corsola can switch into. Mention that Corsola's primary objective is to set up Stealth Rock, but can opt to got for a burn with Scald or Toxic if the opportunity presents itself.

Team Options: Mention Pokemon that can get rid of Grass-types for it. Also mention Spikes setters which work well with Corsola.

Other Options: Add Mirror Coat to surprise special attackers.

Checks and Counters: Add Special Attackers and give examples of Pokemon which can threaten it or carries super effective coverage.

Implement this and I'll check again.

Nah the set should be sdef bc it can take on Simipour sorta for what it walls phdef only beats dodrio whereas sdef beats floatzel + kadabra + stuff more. Also we already have a phdef water/rock type

Overview: Dont even say 'semi-viable' as it isnt. The reader after reading this shouldnt think that it is viabel at all, rather they should think that they should use costa or w/e. Also dont mention taunt as it isnt very relevant, and ngl corsola has worse fears than taunt (like u can either scald burn or switch out to get recover)

moves: also say that toxic helps vs grass type switch ins + water types you try to wall

UT: when you talk about possibly toxic'ing something before setting up specifically say that you would only toxic a set up sweeper; otherwise rocks are more important
Also give examples of what u can switch in on

TO: This is good but some of the team mates you mention dont fit on a team corsola does, eg zebby

oo: ice beam for grasses

c&c: change special attackers to physical attacks
Mention roselia can spike stack on you
remove taunt as it doesnt cripple it much and those mons would rather try and 2HKO u/switch out

what does the ability allow corsola to do(pivot)
mention what costa has over this
mention corsola can only fit on defensive teams

Usage Tips
========
mention that after setting up rocks, corsola should fish for burns or spam toxic to further wear down foes
mention toxic should be used especially when against bulkier foes and walls

Team Options

mention this fits best on defensive teams and why
mention both poli and zwei have to be resttalk to absorb status
mention spinblockers(not defiant bc i don't see pawn being used on a defensive team tbh)
mention Pokemon that appreciate foes worn down by stealth rock, toxic, and scald.

P Squared Regarding the change of Rotom-F's Ice-type STABs to just Blizzard, some people actually prefer Hidden Power Ice due to the low accuracy. That's the only part I'm not going to change.

hi
Corsola has decent bulk in combination with a large movepool and great abilities (you mention Hustle is not that good. Could Natural Cure really be as good as Regenerator? idk the PU meta, but if Regenerator is the only ability worth using, then just say "and (a great ability in) Regenerator") ; however, it's still outclassed by Carracosta, which has an offensive (use "offensive" over "attacking"; the presence isn't attacking. likewise, you wouldn't say "a defending presence," you'd say "a defensive presence") presence and access to Knock Off (this just makes the structure better. it's subjective, but "has access to...an offensive presence") and an attacking presence, although it has a small niche in its reliable recovery. Unfortunately, Corsola doesn't have the sheer defenses needed for that to matter. Corsola's poor offensive stats prevent it from being a prominent attacker, mean that it is walled by Grass-types and opposing bulky Water-types, and make it only useful on defensive teams.
