I guess for a defensive rotom that can bite back at ferrothorn or scizor mainly going off of this sentence for other options on the smogon data base:


At the cost of some bulk, Rotom-W can run a more offensive set with 220 HP / 128 SpA / 160 Spe EVs and Hidden Power Fire or Signal Beam that allows it to provide some offensive pressure and lure in Ferrothorn or Celebi, respectively.

BTW in the other options section, are you sure they mean Rotom with a Bold nature though?

They don't specfically say anything about it being Bold.

Could mean Modest or Timid.

checked with the pokemon showdown damage calculator

both are level 50

128 SpA Rotom-W Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 84-100 (46.4 - 55.2%) -- 12.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

that is with bold, modest bumps it up to a nearly guaranteed 2hko but bold at least puts a big hole in ferrothorn when normally ferrothorn would pretty much wall rotom-w

so I'd still say bold I guess based on that.

The VGC2015 viable pokes with negative speed that are in this zone include:

(21 speed) 31 - Mega Abomasnow + Slowbro + Amoongus + Reuniclus
(19 speed) 30 - Aromatisse
(1 speed) 22 - Ferrothorn + Escavalier

I'll aim for below 19 speed, as I'll be here forever trying for 1 speed since its random. Ok?

Actually 31/31/31/31/31/0 is also hp ice and in the case of camerupt, 31/odd/31/31/31/0 is preferred
