Curious, No Optional Rule/Challenge Setting?

This is relating to the simulator and/or the Smogon tiers/conditions/whatever it's called.

Now this may sound like someone complaining, but, could it be possible to have an extra "tier" or "optional rules" for a battle be added?

Now I understand the metagame is harsh and everything, but if you want to make a challenge, could there be an optional setting such as "No legendaries" or "No Held Items" be thrown in, for fun or challenge testing?

It would also help those who don't completely understand how the meta works, figure everything out, without having to be set up on all day on/completely annihilated by pros.

This could also give everyone something different to spice up the different tiers as well, and possibly, further test each Pokemon out with their full capabilities, or simply have fun with also not having to copy other people's teams to be competitive enough

If this seems doable or acceptable, here's a few optional rules I'd like to suggest.

No Legendaries
No Held Items
No Entry Hazards
No Weather Effects

We already have a few metagames, namely "PU" (NU of NU) and "Dream World UU," that can only be played as direct challenges, so this is technically feasible.

But as for your specific options, this seems like something you could work out via PM before you set up the battle (just play in Ubers, Hackmons or Glitchmons for the fewest pre-defined rules).

And we definitely won't be adding any "ladders" for any of the options you've mentioned, for fear of "diluting" the already-existing metagames. An exception might be Clear Skies, but that's unlikely, since there was literally ZERO interest in it on PO.

Great Sage

Banned deucer.
"No legendaries" is completely worthless; many legendary Pokemon, like Articuno and Entei, are terrible choices competitively, whereas non-legendary Pokemon like Skarmory and Dragonite can be very useful. The designation "legendary" has no competitive significance whatsoever.

Your other suggestions aren't as obviously naive, but won't happen either.
