I have put up a list of all of the abilities with their short and long descriptions now.

http://www.smogon.com:81/rs/abilities/
http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/

The short descriptions are available on the listing itself, and the long descriptions are available on the individual pages. We should identify descriptions, both short and long, that need help as they have not been looked at by the public yet.

Short descriptions should ideally be a line that answers most questions about the ability. It should be as specific as possible, but also as short as possible as it will appear in listings with lots of other descriptions.

A good criterion to keep in mind for long descriptions: "does this answer every single question I have about this ability? Would I be inclined to post on the forums for a clarification?"

This is for Diamond and Pearl in game.

Honey Gather - (something along these lines) A Pokemon with this ability may gather honey after battle with a higher level of the Pokemon increasing the chance of gathering the honey. The Honey can be applied to trees throughout Sinnoh which allow one to find somewhat rare creatures as Wormadam and Combee.

Illuminate - Increases the encounters of wild Pokemon if the creature with this ability is in the front of the party.

Pickup - Depending on the level of the Pokemon, items can be found after battle. The higher the level of the Pokemon, the better the item that can be found.

Run Away - Allows a Pokemon to run away from any battle excluding trainer battles and in the case where the enemy Pokemon has used a move such as Mean Look or has an ability such as Magnet Pull, Arena Trap, or Shadow Tag.

Stench - If the Pokemon is in the front of the party, wild encounters are reduced. The higher the level of the Pokemon, the less encounters occur.

These obviously need rewording though hopefully this helps.

There will be a fair few of these abilities that only have field effects (such as Synchronize) in Emerald, but not Ruby or Sapphire. Should this be noted in the descriptions or is that unnecessary?

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/soundproof

Soundproof doesn't actually list what "Sound Moves" are. Off the top of my head, Sonicboom, Hyper Voice, Perish Song, Roar, Metal Sound, Screech, Growl, and Uproar are all included, but that might be missing some. I can change it myself, but I'd like someone to confirm that it's correct.
Grasswhistle, Growl, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Roar, Sing, Supersonic, Screech, Snore, Uproar, Roar Of Time, Bug Buzz, Chatter, Heal Bell.

okay, I'm going to try this again without the other shit in it.

The abilitys Magma armor and flame body will half the time it takes a pokemon to hatch if a pokemon with this ability is in your party

For all of the rest of these, I believe the pokemon must be in the first slot of your party.

The abilities Magnet pull and static will daw pokemon of the steel and electric type.

The abilities Intimdate and hustle will draw pokemon of a lower and higher level

The ability Compound eyes will draw out pokemon with items.

The abilities Stench and white smoke will repel wild pokemon.

The ability Cute Charm will draw out pokemon of the oppisite gender.

The ability Synchronize will lure out wild pokemon of the same nature.

Grasswhistle, Growl, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Roar, Sing, Supersonic, Screech, Snore, Uproar, Roar Of Time, Bug Buzz, Chatter, Heal Bell.
Thanks, added those and the ones I mentioned earlier in along with a note about Perish Song (according to Serebii, while the Soundproof pokemon itself is immune to the KO effect of perish song, it can still pass it to other pokemon via Baton Pass).

Oh, my mistake.
I'll do the formatting now.

Would the Pickup items list look better as:

Code:
<ul>
<li>Level 1 - 10
    <ul>
    <li>Item - (30%)</li>
    <li>etc.</li>
    </ul>
</li>
<li>Level 11 - 20
    <ul>
    <li>Item - (30%)</li>
    <li>etc.</li>
    </ul>
</li>

Is there any space restriction in that regard?

pickup is better formatted as a definition list, see the html primer if you dont know what that is

flame body/magma armor shouldnt say "A Pokemon under this effect will require" every single time, make a table or something.

Alright, I've constructed tables for Magma Armor and Flame Body, and used the definition list for Pickup items, which does look seems to look a lot less cluttered.

I'm just going to go over all the abilities now to make sure there isn't anything I've missed, and then I'll get started on the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald list.

EDIT: Never mind.

Sorry I can't really add much, just pointing out that you cannot cut grass in D/P, meaning that Hyper Cutter is special in that its out-of-battle effect is Emerald-exclusive.

My issues with...
http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/air_lock
Does Sandstorm / Hail damage hurt in an air_lock? I doubt it, but it should be checked and added.

What about having instead...

[ABILITY]
Huge Power
[SHORT DESC]
Doubles Attack Stat
[LONG DESC]
This Pokémon's Attack stat (not Base stat) is doubled. This includes the effects of IVs, EVs, and Nature.

When Hail is in effect, this Pokémon heals 1/16 <b>Rounded down</b> of its max HP at the end of each turn.

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/iron_fist
I was under the impression that the boost was 30%

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/levitate
This Pokémon is immune to all Ground attacks, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes. It can switch out of Arena Trap. <b>The attack Gravity negates all effects of this ability</b>

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/pure_power
Same beef as with huge power

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/skill_link
Note that Clamp and other multi-turn attacks still use a random number of turns.

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/technician
If Hidden Power and Nature's Gift have a BP of 60 or less, Technician also effects them. I don't know about Fling...

http://www.smogon.com:81/dp/abilities/wonder_guard
Fire Punch IIRC hits through regardless. I'm not sure however.

Did Arena Trap, Compoundeyes, and Cute Charm. Also mentioned HP/Natural Gift/Pursuit on Technician.

Dragontamer, you know that you can edit them too, right?

Same deal as before, really.
This one is to be used in conjunction with http://www.smogon.com:81/rs/abilities/.

Notable changes include a more detailed Pickup list (being editted in), as well as revised Flame Body/Magma Armor statistics, which differs from the D/P list I already posted.

However, it must be noted that field effects were only available in Emerald (outside of Pickup). Should this be noted individually, or at the beginning of the list? I'm not sure how you want this done.
