So it seems that DarkSlay is a bender. I mean just look at this arena.

Arena: DarkSlay's Arena of Good Sportsmanship!

Basically, this is a standard arena, surrounded by fans and people who want to watch the battle. The arena is fairly large, enough to give Pokemon the space to do normal activities. Nothing is restricted in terms of moves or combos. It's just a place to train and have fun!

Yeah. Fortunately strongth user Flamestrike has come along to manly this arena up. Show no mercy.

...I don't know what a bender is. :(

Anyways, let's go with my tried and true starter. Go, Allergy the Gengar!

For its item, it will be using an Expert Belt.

Brandon walked into the arena, ready to face someone who he hadn't fought in a long, long time. DarkSlay was his first opponent in ASB; Brandon had fought him with a Turtwig and a Golett and lost horribly. Now Brandon was back with those same two Pokemon, now evolved into a Torterra and a Golurk, along with his signature Pokemon, Flamestrike the Magmortar, and he was determined to make sure this fight didn't have the same outcome. As DarkSlay led with his trusty Gengar, Brandon debated on who to respond with. None of the Pokemon he had brought did particularly well against Gengar; it was one of the best Pokemon in ASB for a reason. Still, Brandon knew that Flamestrike could handle it. "Flamestrike, you're up first!" The Magmortar appeared in a red flash, ready to fight. "Alright, let's get to it! Start with a Taunt! He'll probably Taunt you back, but at least we force him to do it or lose most of his options! Next, Fire Blast him, and finish off with a Flamethrower! If he does Taunt you on the first action, then just Fire Blast him then, follow up with a Flamethrower, and finish off with a Lava Plume! And if he tries to Protect and you aren't taunted, then use Sunny Day to give us a power boost!"

Summary:
Taunt -> Fire Blast -> Flamethrower
If he uses Taunt A1 actions become Fire Blast -> Flamethrower -> Lava Plume
If he uses Protect use Sunny Day and push actions back, but only once

Issuing some substitutions to bait the stoppage of your Taunt? Clever, but unfortunately, Allergy has a movepool the size of a certain body part of mine (my feet), so there's a way around this easy. Let's go! (Also, my Gengar actually has HP Ground (I made an approval post for the change a month ago), but I'm going to leave it as HP Fighting for punishment of my stupidity of not editing it.)

Allergy, my ghostly little fiend, start off the match by waving around your stubby little arms in an effort to sew yourself a Magic Coat! That will bounce back the Taunt aimed at you without having to activate one of those silly substitutes. Then, use a 79% accurate Hypnosis to try to stave off that Fire Blast (and possibly a Flamethrower please). Finally, finish with a Toxic, to start planning for the next round.

If Gengar uses Taunt a1, Fire Blast~Flamethrower~Lava Plume
If Gengar uses Protect, Sunny Day and push actions back, but only once.

DarkSlay sends out his Gengar, named Allergy, and Flamestrike retorts with his eponymous Magmortar. Allergy senses an incoming Taunt, and quickly puts up a Magic Coat, reflecting it right back at Flamestrike (the mon, not the dude) - "YOU'RE A HOSER EH".

Allergy then shoots some purple sleep rays from her eyes, and they land on target, but Flamestrike just seems too feisty to be put to sleep by such things, giving him plenty of opportunity to retaliate with a Fire Blast. It appears being called a hoser, albeit by himself has increased his firepower somewhat, causing the flames to burn Allergy!

Allergy finally decides to deal damage (in a backhanded way), releasing a cloud of poison that Flamestrike is unable to avoid. The Magmortar once again goes for direct damage, shooting a Flamethrower out of his arm cannon. Personally I think Samus pulls it off better, but it seems to work out fine, dealing a hefty chunk of damage to the Ghost-type.

Okay, time for big damage potential (hopefully). Also, what kind of person gives Magmortar "Vital Spirit"? What a stupid choice of DW ability. Regardless, there's still time to score some major damage. Let's go Allergy!

Start with a mighty Pain Split to even the game! Then, hit it with Hidden Power (Ground, 7), and finally with Venoshock!

IF (Magmortar uses Bide on Action 2), THEN (Replace Venoshock with Confuse Ray)

"I hate Pain Split," Brandon muttered to himself as he considered his options. Unfortunately, he didn't have very many. "Well Flamestrike, just blow him away with some powerful attacks! Fire Blast, then Flamethrower, and finish off with another Fire Blast! He may have some trickery, but we have sheer power on our side!"

Sensing some difference in the HP numbers, Allergy tries a Pain Split to even up the score. Angered at seeing his hard work go to waste, Flamestrike's Fire Blast goes wide of the mark, further increasing the width of Allergy's grin.

Allergy then unleashes a Hidden Power, aided by the belt she's wearing as a headband (face it that image is way cooler than anywhere else). Flamestrike then retaliates with a sure-to-hit Flamethrower, stinging Allergy.

Allergy finishes up with a nasty looking Venoshock, accentuated by Flamestrike's poisoned state. The Magmortar ends the round with another Fire Blast, this one landing true.

"Great, a miss," Brandon fumed as he considered what to do next. Gengar had a remarkable amount of options, and he really couldn't afford to leave it with much health before the next round. Good job Allergy! You're doing a fantastic job at being the little annoying prick that you are! (I mean it in a loving way.)

*calculates*

Okay, so according to my energy left and damage outputs, I should be able to pull off a KO with a simple combo (thanks to Toxic damage, actually) without breaking off too much of my energy bank to become useless the next round. So, being the beast that you are, let's get it!

Brandon sighed and recalled Flamestrike, still miffed about that crucial miss. "You did great Flamestrike, that was a really tough matchup and you made it close." Now he had an difficult decision; both of his last two Pokemon weren't very good against Gengar, but he had to choose one. Looking at the rest of DarkSlay's team, he made his decision. "Alright, time for a bit of revenge! Let's go Seedstrike!" The Torterra hit the field, clearly excited to get another chance against DarkSlay.

Good job my ghostly friend! Could you have started a bad omen by beating the Pokemon named after the trainer? We will see! For now, we need to continue the nightmares.

Start off by giving our opponent a nice burn with a Will-O-Wisp! That will surely help out in the future. Then, follow that up with a chilling Icy Wind! Finish it off with a Sludge Bomb!

IF (Torterra uses Protect on Action 1), THEN (Chill on the first action, follow up with a Pain Split, and finish off the round with an Icy Wind.)

IF (
Torterra uses Light Screen), THEN (Use Taunt on that action and push your actions back.)

Hm...well, I actually don't mind Torterra as much as Golurk, and I'd rather save my non-DynamicPunch weak Pokemon until later, so...

Go, Shawty the Scrafty! Let's give you a nice Rocky Helmet for good measure.

Status? Shed Skin. Physical attacks? Rocky Helmet + Burn. You have your work cut out, Mr. Seedstrike. Let's get it!

"This is going to be tough, but we aren't going to make it easy on you! Start with a Reflect to soften his blows, then stick a Leech Seed on him to get some extra recovery! Finish off with an Earthquake! If he uses Taunt then use Protect to block it and push your actions back the first time, and if he uses it again immediately after then just use a Sand Tomb to restrict his movement then follow up with an Earthquake!"

Summary:
Reflect -> Leech Seed ->Earthquake
If he uses Taunt use Protect and push actions back
If he uses Taunt a second time consecutively then use Sand Tomb and replace any remaining actions with Earthquake (this should override the previous sub if he uses Taunt twice in a row, if he uses Taunt->x->Taunt then the first sub is used both times)

All right, good job Shawty! The crit hurts a bit, but we're in a good position to wreck havoc. Time to unleash the ultimate plan!

Taunt -> Ice Punch -> Hi-Jump Kick

IF (
Torterra uses Protect) AND (It is successful), THEN (Use Bulk Up and push your actions back)

"I hope you don't think we're going down without a fight! Seedstrike, use Sand Tomb on him to restrict his movement and hopefully make that Ice Punch more difficult, if not impossible, to pull off! Then get some health back with a Giga Drain before nailing him with another Earthquake!"

Summary:
Sand Tomb -> Giga Drain -> Earthquake

Sand Tomb~Giga Drain~Earthquake

Shawty begins by hurling abuse at Seedstrike, mainly based around lumberjacks, Canada and the tree on his back. He becomes unable to perform any non-attacking moves for a few rounds. Seedstrike then creates a small sandstorm that sucks Shawty in, draining its health.

(there's nothing about mons being trapped, sorry flame)

Shawty then covers her fist in frost again, punching Seedstrike viciously enough to freeze the poor pokemon deeply (you'd think flame would have trained him against the cold in canada).

Shawty ends the round with a Hi Jump Kick.

Flame first.

The opponent will suffer more intense damage if it tries to break out of the flames with normal attacks. <- This is from Fire Spin, and most refs treat all other trapping moves similarly (God knows how many physical attackers Deck has fucked over with Sand Tomb, and I've had almost an entire round's worth of attacks fail due to a Blizzard+Whirlpool combo trapping me) but whatever, no point changing it since I don't stand a chance regardless of how it's ruled. Just really frustrating to not have it ruled in my favour due to an inconsistency in the rules.

Giga Punch~Earthquake~Giga Drain

Shawty opens up with another Ice Punch, fotunately (for Flame) not freezing this time. Seedstrike retaliates with a Giga Drain, but it isn't enough to stop his demise at the hands (feet?) of a Hi Jump Kick from Shawty, who celebrates with a little Moxie.

Action 1

Shawty used Ice Punch:
18 DMG, 6 EN

Seedstrike used Giga Drain:
RNG Roll for Crit - 15/16 (No)
9.5 (rounded to 10) DMG, 5 REC, 11 EN

Shawty took 2 Sand Tomb damage.
Seedstrike took 2 burn damage.

Action 2

Shawty used Hi Jump Kick:
16 DMG, 7 EN

Seedstrike fainted!

Shawty's ATK rose!
