I absolutely hate ties. So when voting was tied again I was not taking any more chances. I asked esteemed Asurf to pick between qsns's and MainEvent's teams and well you can see what he picked above. (ps: i was making this post when shaian posted his vote) (pps: thanks to vote weighting l o l)

So yeah, congrats qsns! You'll have your team on the HoF post.

New week, new mon to build around! This week we'll have: Hoopa (yes this also includes Unbound which is what you guys should really be using anyway)

New toy alert. It's been a good time since this thing was released so yeah! Have fun!

Deadline for building is Sunday Noon, GMT

ok so this team was originally built around the core i saw mizuhime post in the effective cores thread; goth + mawile + hariyama. all of those sets and spread are ripped right from there and i was too lazy to change them so they could probably be fixed up if someone cared enough about my team. i thought the idea of trapping + hoopa was rly cool, since it could break protect aka 0 prediction required, and it also fucked up sub users that give trick room a hard time, like sub aegi (not trapped but its still scared out at the least). heatran was added since amoonguss is an asshole and i looked weak to zard y if i was unable to set up trick room, and probably something else but i really can't think of it now :/. so i needed a last setter and this was originally cress, but after my second thoughts about a ton of psychics and other stuff i went to esteemed user fangame10, who gave me the idea of p2, which kinda helped with the ground weakness since it had ice beam (fuck qsns and bandorus), while checking talonflame and overall being a nuisance to a lot of teams. worked out well afterwards and here we are. that's the team thanks for reading, vote if you like it, bye!

Anyways the idea behind the core was powerful spread with hoopa scarf protection breaks. So obviously we start with scarfruption typhlosion combined with scarf Hoopa-U.
(idk how to get those little itty bitty sprites so Imma just bold everytime a component of the team comes down.
Hoopa-U + Typhlosion + Char Y
Next I thought, well, how do I build a sun offense team? I obviously need venusaur!
Hoopa-U + Typhlosion + Char Y + Venusaur
Here I wanted to incorporate keldeo to round off the fwg (cuz everyone loves fwg and keldeo is orgasmic)
However, I already have 4 talonflame weaks because the mon should be tier 1, and didn't want to stack more. So, I added Rhyperior, which is very nice with Char Y. Also cuz fuck thundurus.
Hoopa-U + Typhlosion + Char Y + Venusaur + Rhyperior
So we still have a massive talonflame weak, especialy since rhyperior might get burned if it's wisp. Therefore, I added Thundurus to the team, because I also wanted two twave immunities and it's a very strong mon in general.
Hoopa-U + Typhlosion + Char Y + Venusaur + Rhyperior + Thundurus

Everything is pretty standard. Char Y is max speed but modest, because I want damage. Also it has focus blast > overheat to cover heatran. Typhlosion is p standard scarfruption set. Hoopa-U is a scarf set, as mentioned, and it's maxspeed and typhlosion is 1 ev behind so it still goes after. 252 252 venusaur, standard. I opted for solid rock 1) for the bulk 2) because countersynergy with my own thundurus was annoying. FC Thundurus felt necessary on a team that had trouble switching in on a diamond storm so I added that.

BLOOD TOTEM mentioned once that nothing switches in on Hoopa-U + Mega Gardevoir and he was kind of right so I built Tailwind with it. Terrakion was added for a Kang check, Ferro provided a Water resist and soft TR check, and Rotom-H was my glue. Scarf Rotom-H is an awesome glue actually.

Team relies a little heavily on Tailwind unfortunately, but once it's up everything is way more threatening (except Ferro lol). Hoopa/Gard pretty much is impossible to switch in on, and Terrakion covers pretty much everything they don't.

Bear with me it's almost 1 AM

TEAMBUILDING
So word on the street is that Kangaskhan and Hoopa-U is a really solid core. Kanga's Fake Out encourages Protect which Hoopa breaks through anyways, and in general have some decent synergy, so I started with these two (and of course its Mega Kang so you can't really go wrong). Next up was picking some sort of speed control, since Hoopa literally cannot perform well without it. I initially wanted to do semi-trick room, but the team I built was almost identical to KyleCole's semi-room Hoopa team, so I scratched that and used Tailwind instead. I picked Suicune because now that Skymin is banned, I wanted to build an old-school bulky good-stuffs team, and Suicune fit the bill well. Next was Heatran since I use it on almost all of my teams and is the best Fire-type for bulky FWG cores. Originally I was gonna be super innovative and bring Virizion, because I wanted Grass and more offensive presence, but then I realized how much my team benefited from a fast Spore user and used Breloom instead. That and Breloom doesn't have to worry about Skymin ruining its day anymore. Lastly, I picked Kyurem-B because it provided some offensive coverage, good set-up, and overall nice sitting and breaking of things.

SET DETAILS
To be honest none of my sets are really fancy, and most are stolen straight from the SmogDex. However Hoopa's and Heatran's sets are kind of fancy so I'll explain them. Hoopa's 64 Speed EV's will outspeed Mega Diancie under Tailwind, and OHKO it with Gunk Shot. I went with max Attack because its the slightly lower of the two attack stats, and the remaining 192 is in Special Attack. Heatran runs Flash Cannon because its slightly unexpected and nice for things like Clefable and Sylveon. Its Speed speed-creeps Rotom forms and 76 Speed Venusaur if the sun isn't up. The remainder is then put into HP.

I haven't built anything with Hoopa yet so I was glad that it was the required mon and not trash like Darkrai. I actually started the team off with Conkeldurr and Jirachi bc Conk is pretty damn good imo. Burn orb bc under Trick Room I don't want to be spored by Amoonguss and with Guts it gives Conk a huge power boost without relying on ppl being stupid and burning/paralyzing it. Next mon is Jirachi bc I needed a setter and Follow Me really helps Conk beat mons like Kanga, Diancie, Tflame etc. You can use other items, I have Colbur so i can have an easier time setting up Trick Room vs. Bisharp and other Hoopas.

Next choice was Hoopa bc I had nothing for Aegislash which is one of the most annoying mons for Trick Room to face. Dual stab and Ally Switch cus it's a really cool moves and catches ppl off guard. I feel the team was pretty serious b4 I added my next mon, SD Charizard-X. Pairs well with Jirachi...sorta, gives me a fire resist, idk why I picked it tbh i just like Char-X :3

Next mon is Cresselia because it's a reliable setter and a much needed ground resist. Moonblast is to lure in those Hydreigons that trouble my Zard, and HP Ground gives me another way to beat Heatran which is a really annoying mon. Last mon is Charti Berry Thundurus bc it patches up a lot of holes. Beats Diancie, Keldeo ,scarf Lando, Talonflame, and I have like no support for getting up Trick Room lmao so taunt is nice to taunt shit that wants to taunt me.

Conk- No evs in HP so Drain Punch recovers more. Can't really ev for specific defensive benchmarks without flame orb fucking it up.

Jirachi- Lives Life Orb Adamant Lando-T Earthquake rest in Sdef to have an easier time with Cube.

Hoopa-U- KOs standard 252 hp Aegislash with Hyperspace Fury. I asked teamrating god Shaian what his more defensive Aegislash spread was and his didn't have any defense so if you're not using his spread and I don't kill your sword you are bad. Lives 1 BB from Sharp Beak Talonflame.

Charizard-X- Nothing :^) kinda the same deal as Conk

Cresselia- 2HKOs 180 HP sub Tran, OHKOs Hydreigon, lives +2 jolly Return from Kanga

Thundurus- Fails to knockout Keldeo 100% of the time, weak af.
