We end up with a tie, which I will break with a vote on n1n1. Therefore, n1n1 wins the week!

This week, we're building around Kyurem-B! With a ridiculously high Attack stat and good coverage all around, Kyurem-B stands out as a damn good breaker of defensive cores. It has good bulk to boot, letting it be a good pivot for a few attacks and then some. Its Speed is only middling, however, as while it does let it outrun the likes of Heatran and Zygarde, it also only ties with Tapu Lele and is outrun by threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Mega Salamence. The speed is just enough for a Choice Scarf, though, as it can outrun the most common scarfer in Landorus-T. Its ability to fit around in the metagame can be a question mark, however; it doesn't have much notable resists and being prey to fairies can be deadly.

Deadline of building on Friday GMT noon!

as my favorite pokemon to use, it is my moral obligation to post a kyurem-b team to showcase his strengf
i like to think of kyurem as a "breaker." this is a pokemon which hits very hard, is hard to switch into, and has a middling speed stat. give them some sort of speed control and this pokemon will rip the opponent to shreds.

i brought this team to one of my spl games. you can note the speed control offered to kyuremb is tailwind from salamence. this speed control is kept more sturdy by roost on salamence to make sure you can get multiple tailwinds off. scarf landorus-t also acts as a sort of speed control since it gets first strike. you can alter the field in a way with scarf lando to do stuff like safely pivot in your kyuremb or eliminate a threat fast for kyruemb. aegislash in tailwind outspeeds base 130's. i was weak to stuff like tapu fini so i have bloom doom heatran. this team is brought to you by our sponsors at the Pocket foundation tm

Lowkey one of the best teams I've built this gen, as is evident by it winning its first and only game. Kyube is required, LO is fun, wanted to use it with Koko and stax showed off Z-Nature Power Koko so I tried that, alongside a Tapu Fini to give it that Twinkle Tackle in the right situation. Fini has Heal Pulse because Kyube gets low on health and so does Scizor idk CM didn't fit. Had two ways to stop Lele's Psychic Terrain so Mega Scizor with Tailwind to support Kyube because it's awesome with all these pinch berries running around. Hoopa-U loves tailwind and having room for extra coverage, Infernape provides Fake Out, another Steels check, and a way to OHKO Kang which is always nice.

Kyube is max Speed / OHKOes Zard Y with Fusion Bolt outside of terrain; Koko is max/max; Fini outspeeds Scarf Lando-T in Tailwind, lives Psychic Terrain Shattered Psyche from Lele just in case, Iapapa is broken and super fun to say, 2HKOes 188 HP Lefties Zygarde, dump in Def; Scizor is one faster than Fini so that Muddy Water can become single-target if Scizor takes a foe out, enough Atk to OHKO 0/4 Lele with Bullet Punch, dump in HP; Hoopa KOes 252/0 Fini with Gunk (barely relevant but w/e) and dumps in SpA after max Spe; Infernape outspeeds Nihilego, OHKOes 252/0 Kang, and dumps in SpA.

Hope I can still post this lmao im late

So this team started with scarf kyub and the idea behind it is to straight up kill those x4 (mence, lando, zygarde) and having a set up mon that can benefit from those threats being gone, so i choose zygarde bc its the best ground type by a great margine and just a great sweeper. Then i was weak to psychic spam so MegaGross was the pokemon of choice (s/o to matame :3), its also an underrated pokemon in my opinion that can rise in usage after the rachi ban. After that, a tr check was needed + zygarde (and also teammates) likes redirection so amoonguss was the best choice, payapa berry "helps" baiting psychic spam a little bit. Landorus-I is a ground immunity and i choose it over the therian one bc it does the damage that i need to ohko some mons (tran, lele, chary), plus its faster idk i like it lol. Bulu is a terrain which always helps, and a check to waters. Also Kyub spread lives timid moonblast from scarf lele and the modest one is a roll in your favour, rilevant benchmarks!!

Description ::
  • I got this really sexy core from effective cores thread, of mega-gar and scarf gene, which when together just eliminates so much shit, including things like tapu koko since mega-gar lives a t-bolt all the time, and other tapus too courtesy scarf gene. Only things they had trouble with was fire types in general, so in came, rain with kyu-b as all of them benefitted from elimination of guardian deities.
  • For the basic rain core we have tailwind pelipper and AV ludicolo, since imo kingdra is p shit rn, and then I opted for sub-lefties kyu-b, since it just gets so many opportunities with this team to set up a substitute and threaten stuff due to good offensive stats. Also since the team offensively handled calm mind fini so well, so it just felt appropriate to use that opportunity. Also ludi outspeeds uninvested kang outside of rain to fake it out beforehand.
  • And finally to end stuff, I added landorus-t(sue me), for intimidate support and a 1 time nuke in tectonic rage and all the other stuff lando-t does in general.

tree and flan were tied at 6 so the tiebreaker is on me soooo... I'm gonna go with n10sit talkingtree with this one, therefore he wins this week!

This week, we're going to build around Snorlax! A looming set-up attacker that's gained prominence thanks to its high Special Defense and the notable lack of Fighting-type coverage, Snorlax proves to be a threat that can go for game if left unchecked by using Curse or Belly Drum. The buff to certain berries such as Figy are also a boon as now they can prove to be semi-reliable recovery options with Recycle and Gluttony. The going for it can be quite a slow affair, however!

Deadline on Saturday GMT noon!
