    Are you on the list?

To see what your win streak (your record) is, look at the screen beside the lady where your Battle Tower challenge starts.

Please state clearly how many wins in a row you achieved and what team (including movesets, EVs and items) you used.

Please post a pic of your ingame screen record as proof if your record is above 200 in the single tower and enough to be TOP 3 otherwise.

I hope this will motivate people who are on the list and can continue their streak to do so, also the ones who have nice records but didn´t make the list and help those who have not started in the Battle Tower yet by providing team ideas.

You can also post your Wi-Fi BT records and teams here = highest rank and highest streak.

    DP Battle Tower movesets:

Important Note from Jump: the natures/speeds listed in these links reflect the misconception that natures are predetermined, like the moves, items, EV spreads. They, indeed, are not. Natures, like Abilities, are assigned randomly. For example, the three Weavile that the first (mewn) link states are Jolly could actually be Bold or Sassy or Gentle when you face them. Likewise, your 31 IV max speed Timid Gengar may not outspeed the Rain Dance Starmie that that link lists as Modest, as it could be Timid itself or even Hasty or Naive. There is, therefore, a 16% chance that an AI poke's stat is a beneficial Nature, and the same 16% chance it's hindering. Account for this randomness accordingly.

DP Battle Tower Trainers above battle 49 (thanks to Team Rocket Elite)

DP Battle Tower Trainers above battle 49 and their Pokémon (I rewrote TRE´s list so it lists actual Pokémon and their sets)

Important Note from Peterko: After battle 49 you will face 100 trainers, out of which 80 use flawless IV (perfect) Pokémon and 20 (the following list) use 21 IV Pokémon (which means around 5 point lower stats at lv.50):
    - Camper Justyn & Camper Leland
    - Cowgirl Margot & Cowgirl Sophie
    - Guitarist Markell & Guitarist Marquez
    - Idol Claudia & Idol Maranda
    - Picnicker Kyra & Picnicker Serena
    - Pokéfan Carley, Pokéfan Selina, Pokéfan Cecil & Pokéfan Ted
    - PKMN Breeder Emilee, PKMN Breeder Tiffani, PKMN Breeder Blair & PKMN Breeder Harvey
    - Rancher Alton & Rancher Kellen

I love you, Peterko! Again, this kind of effort is awesome and should never go unappreciated. also I am editing my own streak to 119 (17 complete rounds), still don't quite care enough to really get into it again, haha.

The one problem is that there's no way to prove that we've done this, so we're just going off the trust that no one's going to be an asshole and lie about their streak.

Anyways, I'm currently at 112 and counting. Here is the team I'm using:

    Azelf @ Wise Glasses
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 4HP/252SpA/252Spd
    -Thunderbolt
    -Psychic
    -Flamethrower
    -Grass Knot

    Tyranitar @ Life Orb
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 4HP/252Atk/252Spd
    -Dragon Dance
    -Stone Edge
    -Crunch
    -Taunt

    Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 160HP/252Atk/96Spd
    -Outrage
    -Crunch
    -Earthquake
    -Fire Blast

I had to steal Chompy from Jump, it's too good ;]

I'll give a summary of the basic strategies and ways to deal with it's counters later today when I'm not so pressed for time.

Oh, since we're counting multi battles here, I got to 33 once. Here's my part of the team:

    Gengar @ Focus Sash
    Timid 252/252 set

    TBolt
    Shadow Ball
    Hypnosis
    Focus Blast

Pretty much just kills stuff. Not much to say.

    Arcanine @ Choice Band
    252 attack/speed

    flare blitz
    thunder fang
    Aerial Ace
    Extreme speed

Cleans up what Gar can't. AA for the hax.

I lost to a dragon tamer with a bright powder mence. AA didn't kill it, and it EQd back.

well we could ask for pictures of the record-screen or something, but I believe and hope smogon users won´t lie about this

@forsety: I don´t have wi-fi and I thought there was only the ranking system, but after seeing that there is a Wi-Fi Record I´m adding that one also

The streaks in the wifi battle tower are a bit weird. You could win 21 battles in a row to get to rank 4, lose two attempts, and then win 7 more battles to get to rank 5. A 7-win streak from rank 4 is more of an accomplishment than a 21-win streak from rank 1, I think. It'd definitely be easier to set a record if you started on a lower level.

Note that I have not finished battling, meaning I have not lost yet. I just never got around to continue the streak. I stopped after 112 wins.

This is my Battle Tower team.

    Milotic
    Nature: Bold
    Item: Leftovers
    EV: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 Sp. Attack
    - Surf
    - Ice Beam
    - Hypnosis
    - Recover

    Metagross
    Nature: Adamant
    Item: Lum Berry
    EV: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 6 Speed
    - Meteor Mash
    - Earthquake
    - Explosion
    - Bullet Punch

    Garchomp
    Nature: Jolly
    Item: Yache Berry
    EV: 6 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Claw
    - Fire Fang
    - Swords Dance

My basic strategy is to put something to sleep with Hypnosis, switch in Garchomp and use Swords Dance, twice if possible, then proceed to sweep. Metagross is back up in case Garchomp falls, and Explosion to take out any legendary threats.

I noticed the omission of the Wifi Battle Tower but actually didn't comment on it because the Wifi Tower is a bit sketchy — I've heard people have hacked 252 stats in every stat, and the HP Ice Infernape that once faced my Lead (and Sashed but whatever) Garchomp didn't exactly strike me as legit. I was Rank 6 once and my longest streak was 16 but eh, I just question the integrity on the Wi-fi Tower in general, which is a shame cause I really, really liked the concept.

For posterity this was my Wifi Tower team, it's horrible because Blissey is about the worst idea in the Wifi Tower, waaaaay too much offense for it to stand.

    Garchomp@Focus Sash
    - Dragon Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Fang
    - Swords Dance

    Metagross@Lum Berry
    - Bullet Punch
    - Explosion
    - Meteor Mash
    - Thunderpunch

    Blissey@Leftovers
    - Ice Beam
    - Seismic Toss
    - Sing
    - Softboiled

Yeah basically for Wifi you can simply note your highest rank and your number of straight wins its recorded on the board as well near the top leaders of each room.

Also I think theres always going to be doubt but this is fun anyway to just list them so what the heck. We're basically relying on trust for all these records anyway.

I forgot to update my post, but I got up to lv. 98 before I lost and never set foot in BT again until my friend wanted to try Rock Head Aerodactyl with all recoil moves.
Not really that important aside from making me feel better about myself.

So close to 100 too, had some horrible luck with the opponent's quick claw. =[

Kudos to the members who did so well without abusing the Battle Tower's stupid stance on Latios/Latias. No kudos for those who used them. ¬_¬

I have no significant record at the moment, I've had awful luck with the opponent's OHKO attacks.

For the multi-battles with in-game partners, I stopped after 49 wins. I should really continue now that someone mentioned you earn ribbons after 50 wins.

I used the same Milotic and Metagross that I battled with in the singles, and I usually chose Mira as my partner.

    Milotic
    Nature: Bold
    Item: Leftovers
    EV: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 6 Sp. Attack
    - Surf
    - Ice Beam
    - Hypnosis
    - Recover

    Metagross
    Nature: Adamant
    Item: Lum Berry
    EV: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 6 Speed
    - Meteor Mash
    - Earthquake
    - Explosion
    - Bullet Punch

Great thread. I'm inspired again to pick up Battle Tower. My last 2 teams consisting of completely different pokemon both lost at battle number 55 so I got pretty angry and gave up. I was meaning to give 2v2 a go so I may try that since some of these 1v1 records are pretty untouchable. 177 sheesh.

I have decent records, but I basically switch up my pokemon every time I go in, so I don't really have a team to report. I guess i'll just list the most common elements.

    Single Battle record:94

Timid Froslass @ Focus Sash **Yuki
    252spd/252spa/4hp
    Shadow Ball
    Ice Beam
    Thunderbolt
    Destiny Bond

Adamant Metagross @ Life Orb **Machina
    (can't remember EV spread)
    Meteor Mash
    Bullet Punch
    Earthquake
    Explosion

    Bold Suicune @ Leftovers **Charybdis
    252HP/252DEF/4SPA
    Surf
    Ice Beam
    Calm Mind
    Rest

Froslass almost always KOs two since the computer is really dumb when it comes to destiny bond, and metagross is another pokemon that usually kills two, making this team feel like 5 pokes in all.
    ________

    Double Battle record: 78

Adamant Metagross @ Life Orb **Machina
    (can't remember EV spread)
    Meteor Mash
    Bullet Punch
    Earthquake
    Explosion

Timid Gengar @ Focus Sash **Daeva
    252spd/252spa/4HP
    Shadow Ball
    Thunderbolt
    Hypnosis
    Destiny Bond

Jolly Weavile @ Expert Belt **Scratch
    252spd/252atk/4hp
    Ice Punch
    Night Slash
    Brick Break
    Swords Dance

Adamant Aerodactyl @ Choice Band **Sordes
    252atk/252spd/4HP
    Rock Slide
    Earthquake
    Fire Fang
    Aerial Ace

Standard fare here, gross and gar slaughter stuff until gross explodes, and two speedy hard-hitters left to mop up the rest.
    _______________

    Multi record: 103

Jolly Ambipom @ Silk Scarf **Ahuizotl
    252atk/252spd/4hp
    Fake Out
    Return
    Payback
    U-Turn

    Bold Cresselia @ Leftovers **Selene
    252HP/200def/56spa
    Psychic
    Ice Beam
    Calm Mind
    Moonlight

Fake out works well in this format, as does U-turn and Cresselia in general. I think i got pretty lucky getting to 103; this version is extremely tough since your PC partner tends to play stupidly. I think my next highest in this format was like 43. Always pick Mira!
    __________

    Wifi Rank:7 highest streak:29
    Rich Boy Jason

Adamant Metagross @ Life Orb **Machina
    (can't remember EV spread)
    Meteor Mash
    Bullet Punch
    Earthquake
    Explosion

Jolly Ambipom @ Silk Scarf **Ahuizotl
    252atk/252spd/4hp
    Fake Out
    Return
    Payback
    U-Turn

    Bold Cresselia @ Leftovers **Selene
    252HP/200def/56spa
    Psychic
    Ice Beam
    Calm Mind
    Moonlight

Since so many teams lead with scarfchomp (seriously, like 1 in 2 do this) I can lock said chomp into EQ by switching to Cress, CM 6 times, and sweep at my leisure. No, it doesn't switch, it just EQs over and over again. Silly PC. Also, i get two priority moves with this team to deal with the omnipresent sasher, although i sometimes use gyararados in place of Ambipom for intimidate/taunt.

I fought myself in the wifi tower today! I kicked my own ass, too.

    - psychic

The best idea I got here was the speedy garchomp but I found that the tyranitar I used didn't work as well as the blissey. I also found that instead of the expert belt or other power increasing items on the starmie that it worked better to give it a focus sash. starmie can 2hko almost anything it cant 1hko even without the power increasing items.

my main way for deling with double teamers was to switch in blissey on the first dt and toxic till it was poisened
If by some chance starmie failed to kill the first pokemon (mainly due to quick claw) bring out the garchomp and use outrge unless something else was super effective till it becomes confused then switch in blissey, you can also switch in blissey on anything you think (or know) it can kill. which I did everytime a regigagas came out

I finaly lost on round 143 to a snorlax with curse and rest, which I had killed many times before useing my starmie. but it got killed early and his curselax was the last one to come out

Most are using advance spreads and/or movesets because this was around June and I hadn't bothered retraining anything. With the first team, I abused immunities/4x resists to switch in my 3 sweepers, since the AI never switches if it gets locked into a choice move. Flygon covered Gyara's electric/rock weak, Heatran covered Flygon's ice/dragon weak, they both covered Heatran's ground weak and Gyara Heatran's water weak. It worked pretty well, though occasionally I would get unlucky like anyone else, hence the low win streak. The reason I got to 8 was persistence more than anything, I wanted the ribbons on all my guys lol.

The second team functions a lot like the first in covering eachother's weaks, I don't think I had as much success with this one though.

All good things come to an end with hax, I guess. Streak over at 129, but I can't fault myself because I did everything right.

Leadoff Froslass, an automatic switch from Starmie to Tyranitar, since they will 100% use a Ghost attack on the Starmie they think is staying in. Its Ominous Wind, though, both CHes and boosts all of Frosslass's stats. Not good news by any stretch of the imagination but it needs to CH with its Blizzard, assuming it uses that and it hits. Of course, it both hits and CHes, and Tyrantiar dies. Barely, too: for whatever reason, this Froslass is Docile, with no physical attacks to go with its 255Spd/255SpA EVs, so it has 259 SpA. With its Wise Glasses, Ominous Wind's Base Power is 66, and Blizzard's 132. My Tyranitar has 25HP/30SpD IVs, and the following calculations reflect that (haha why am i typing all this none of you should care but whatever):

    Wise Glasses Omnious Wind: 7.74-9.23%
Wise Glasses Omnious Wind CH: 15.47-18.45%
    Wise Glasses Blizzard: 31.25-36.90%
    Wise Glasses +1 Blizzard: 46.73-55.35%
    Wise Glasses Blizzard CH 62.5-73.81%
Wise Glasses +1 Blizzard CH: 93.45-110.71%

Obviously the last value is bad news for Tyranitar either way, but Ominous Wind must boost (the fact that it CHes doesn't matter), Blizzard must hit, and Blizzard must CH. Even if both CH I take 92.26% damage max...and Blizzard can't even freeze hax because I have Lum. So...that's a 0.4375% chance...gives a lot of credence to "I'll take my chances", doesn't it? It's also lame that Froslass has its speed boosted to 478, otherwise my Garchomp (396 with Scarf) would have had it. Even then, Blizzard had only a 56% chance of hitting through Sand Veil, but of course it did lol. Anyway that was long and you shouldn't care but I felt like calculating and chronicling the degree to which I just got lucked so I did, "sorry"! Though I'm undaunted, something tells me I got lucky by default to not get so unlucky to get to 129...

    Double Battle
Team Rocket Elite (138) - Bronzong, Dusknoir, Snorlax, Steelix

    Bronzong @ Lum Berry
    Trait: Heatproof
    Nature: Brave (+Atk, -Speed)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Earthquake
    -Gyro Ball
    -Trick Room
    -Explosion

    Dusknoir @ Leftovers
    Trait: Pressure
    Nature: Careful (+SpDef, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Will-O-Wisp
    -Night Shade
    -Protect
    -Rest

    Snorlax @ Chesto Berry
    Trait: Immunity
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Return
    -Crunch
    -Curse
    -Rest

    Steelix @ Choice Band
    Trait: Sturdy
    Nature: Brave (+Atk, -Speed)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Explosion
    -Earthquake
    -Rock Slide
    -Gyro Ball

It's a Trick Room team, but I guess you already knew that. <_< Opponents don't use Earthquake much and they are weakened so Heatproof is used. Need to watch out for Marowak. General battle strat is Trick Room, blow up Bronzong, blow up Steelix. If they bring a Ghost, smash it then blow up.

    Wi-Fi Battle Tower
Team Rocket Elite (rank:8, streak: 15) - Hippowdon, Cacturne, Filler
Filler = Empoleon, Metagross, Heatran. It depended on what I felt like using at the time

    Hippowdon @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sandstream
    Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpAtk)
    EVs: 252 Def, 252 HP, 6 Atk
    -Earthquake
    -Yawn
    -Stealth Rock
    -Slack Off

    Cacturne @ Focus Sash
    Trait: Sand Veil
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
    EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    -Seed Bomb
    -sucker Punch
    -Swords Dance
    -Counter

You can really put what you want for the last. Just something to deal with Bronzong, Abomasnow, Walrein and Breloom. This streak was done several months so it might not work as well today. But I doubt that the Wi-Fi tower has changed that much.

If you also include records made on a Japanese game:

    Single Battle
Team Rocket Elite (188) - Metagross, Umbreon, Garchomp

    Metagross @ Choice Band
    Trait: Clear Body
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Meteor Mash
    -Earthquake
    -Zen Headbutt
    -Brick Break

    Umbreon @ Leftovers
    Trait: Synchronize
    Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Speed)
    EVs: 252 Def, 244 HP, 14 SpDef
    -Substitute
    -Yawn
    -Wish
    -Baton Pass

    Garchomp @ Yache Berry
    Trait: Sand Veil
    Nature: Jolly (+Speed, -SpAtk)
    EVs: 10 HP, 248 Atk, 252 Speed
    -Swords Dance
    -Earthquake
    -Draon Claw
    -Stone Edge

This team benefitted from the extended sleep in the Japanese version. Umbreon used Yawn, BP a sub to Garchomp, Swords Dance and sweep.

    Double Battle
Team Rocket Elite (144) - Togekiss, Garchomp, Metagross, Heracross

    Togekiss @ Leftovers
    Trait: Hustle
    Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Follow Me
    -Protect
    -Light Screen
    -Extremespeed

This is a really messed up Togekiss, but it works! <_<

    Garchomp @ Yache Berry
    Trait: Sand Veil
    Nature: Jolly (+Speed, -SpAtk)
    EVs: 10 HP, 248 Atk, 252 Speed
    -Swords Dance
    -Earthquake
    -Draon Claw
    -Stone Edge

    Metagross @ Choice Band
    Trait: Clear Body
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Meteor Mash
    -Earthquake
    -Zen Headbutt
    -Brick Break

    Heracross @ Wide Lens
    Trait: Swarm
    Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
EVs: Can't remember. Might check them later.
    -Megahorn
    -Stone Edge
    -Close Combat
    -Swords Dance

This team is a bit messed up. A lot of my old Japanese teams were. Basic strat is to use Follow Me with Togekiss and powerup with Garchomp. Then sweep. Blizzard sucks. A lot. Espeically from Abomasnow. That's when you switch in Metagross and Heracross and start smashing Ice Pokemon!

    Wi-Fi Battle Tower
Team Rocket Elite (rank 10, streak: 35) - Hippowdon, Cacturne, Filler
Filler = Empoleon, Metagross, Heatran. It depended on what I felt like using at the time. Same movesets as the English streak for Wi-Fi Battle Tower. This streak is only better than my English one because I haven't had much motivation to play the Wi-Fi Battle tower lately. The quality of teams took a real dive a few months after the English release. I'm hoping it goes back up to what it was before after English players get the hang of making better Wi-Fi Battle Tower teams.

The reason I list Japanese teams seperatly is because there are a few difference in the English and Japanese games. The biggest one is probably the fact that the min and max length of sleep is 1 turn longer in the Japanese version.

This one is between an English and Japanese game, the game forces English rules:
    Link Battle
Team Rocket Elite (21*) - 4 random Pokemon. No serious team yet.

No real set team as the opponents are really weak at this point. Sometimes I attack my ally to even the field a bit. <_< I play this with a friend, but both games and the Pokemon used are mine. I haven't touched this streak in a while due to a lack of access to a second DS.
