Dual Screening

The Team at a Glance:

Oh, she's so adorable, right? And she's such a great screener. So she's number one.

However, she doesn't have nearly enough bulk to set up screens by herself. Enter Screener number 2.

An offensive screener? Sure, why not? With her movepool and decent defenses, she'd make the perfect candidate, right?

Wrong. Down in a few hits. So, let's pick someone else. Deoxys-D? You're up.

Entry hazards are nice, right? So let's bring in a Spiker/Stealth Rocker. Enter the Ferrothorn.

Even though having hazards up were nice, it wasn't nice when the opponent had some too. So I decided to kick Ferrothorn out and bring in his more successful older brother. Mother's favorite, Forretress.

Okay, so now I need some offense. Who works well behind some screens? Let's try Volcarona.

Who else needs some more bulk from screening? Conkeldurr's dismal Special Def came to mind. So here he is.

Team In Depth
@ Light Clay
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Light Screen
- Reflect

Common lead, but with not much bulk, Espeon is our first screener. She sets up the screens as quick as she can, while being protected from status and taunt. HP Fire is for those pesky Steel types, and Psyshock covers pink blobs.

@ Light Clay
Trait: Heatproof
EVs: 152 Atk / 252 HP / 96 SDef / 8 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball

Heatproof? Are you serious?
It's more useful than you think. Since almost everyone expects Bronzong to have Levitate, they never realize that it's grounded, giving me adequate time to put up both screens.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic
- Night Shade
- Light Screen

So, occasionally there's one person who immediately sees through Bronzong and uses Earthquake. So, here's Deoxys-D. Boasting absurd defensive stats, it can set up a screen and spike a few times. I took Night Shade over Seismic Toss because Ghosts are annoying.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball

Best spiker? Definitely. Best spinner? Well, he gets the job done. Getting rid of hazards and putting out his own.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SAtk / 104 HP / 152 Spd
Timid Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Roost

So fun, especially in late game. 104 HP gives him an odd number, which lets him switch into Stealth Rock more than once, while 152 lets him outspeed most things I have a problem with (Terrakion is still a pest, however.). Quiver Dance is just amazing, while Fiery Dance is more accurate and more reliable, as it racks up SpAtk quickly.

@ Flame Orb
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Payback

Pretty much a standard Guts set here. Nothing special about him except that behind screens, he can let loose absurd destruction.

Threats/Annoyances
Weather teams. Specifically Sandstorm. Although I wouldn't really call it a threat as much as I would an annoyance.

Mixmence. Surprisingly, they always seem to go right through me, especially if they can tell that Bronzong's heatproof. Although again, annoyance.

Paraflinch Jirachi. Another annoyance. But really, who doesn't hate this guy?
Hi there.
But really, it's annoying.

Overall, the team does pretty well, with not much that can tear right through it, although it really depends on the player. There is an element of prediction, however, which I have yet to master. I often choose a move before thinking because I don't like to keep other people waiting, so some of my losses tend to be my own fault.
