Electrode Revamp

Here's a mini-check. I might add/remove some later in the day (perhaps I may even finish it). I can't reserve posts for WIPs for amchecks without actually posting the WIP. I wouldn't implement any of these changes directly from my check, rather I would wait for them to be approved (if they are at all).

You really really really really really need to work on your writing. You didn't really catch any of the mistakes I was trying to guide you into catching :(

[OVERVIEW]

Electrode is the second fastest [cap]Pokemon in PU after Ninjask bar [cap]Choice [cap]Scarf [cap]Pokémon,[ac] so it can revenge kill most of the tier while still having a power boosting item,[rc] and at times doesn't necessarily have to lock itself into a move to do so. Electrode rivals with Zebstrika in use,[ac] but each one has a different movepool and each one has a niche ability that lend specific advantages over the other, with Zebstrika being immune to [cap]Grass-type moves by virtue of Sap Sipper and Electrode being a good check to Chatot by virtue of Soundproof. has a sound immunity making it a check to Chatot. Zebstrika can hit [cap]Grass-types back with Overheat,[ac] and Electrode is stronger most of the time, being able to run a Modest nature over Timid,[ac] most of the time (whether or not this 'most of the time' was modifying the 'being' clause, I think it sounds better before the clause and is functionally equivalent) as well as being and is able to safely revenge kill opposing Zebstrika after they have been whittled without risking a [cap]Speed tie with your own Zebstrika. Electrode also makes for a fast rain lead, gaining a 100% accurate Thunder in the rain. that gets a boost for Thunder making it a 100% accurate. ('making' dangler, 'that' disagreement) Electrode has Taunt allowing ('allowing' quasi-dangler [subject of participle is the action],'stopping' dangler) Electrode's access to Taunt allows it to perform as an anti-lead,[ac] stopping Sticky Web and Spikes,[ac] but it must watch out for other common leads who that (who, etc. reserved for humans) carry Earthquake. Electrode has a shallow movepool,[ac] which doesn't allow it to (logical ambiguity) keeps it from being able to beat common Pokemon that can OHKO it or set up on it. Electrode has lackluster bulk that makes it get OHKOd OHKOed by a plethora of set up setup sweepers, priority users, and pretty much every strong [cap]Ground-type move like Earthquake and Earth Power.

Moves

Thunderbolt for an offensive STAB that doesn't force you to switch out while also being a bit stronger.(You seem to be be comparing Thunderbolt to something ... only, I have no idea what that 'something' is) Thunderbolt is a strong, reliable STAB move. Volt Switch is for gaining momentum while still doing a lot of damage. Signal Beam is for coverage against [cap]Psychic-types like Kadabra and it OHKOs Exeggutor. Hidden Power Ice for is another coverage move against that is mainly used to hit [cap]Grass-types like Roselia and Tangela,[ac] but it also 2HKOs 2HKOes Vibrava, Fraxure,[ac] and Gabite and it OHKOs OHKOes Jumpluff. Taunt can stop bulkier [cap]Pokemon like Roselia, Pawniard, and Clefairy from setting up on Electrode like Roselia, Pawniard, and Clefairy but should only be used with Life Orb only if Life Orb is used.

Set Details
========

Life Orb is used to boost Electrode's damage output and allow Electrode to change up his its moves in exchange for some recoil. in exchange for damage. (are you talking about recoil? or the opportunity cost for not using Choice Specs?) Choice Specs allows Electrode to hit a lot harder without taking Life Orb damage in exchange of for not being able to switch up its moves and not taking Life Orb damage. Soundproof allows Electrode to not get revenge killed by Choice Scarf Chatot's Boomburst. The given EV spread allows Electrode to outspeed Timid Zebstrika by one point. An EV spread of 120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to outspeed Frazure Fraxure after one Dragon Dance. Another alternative is 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe with a Timid nature, which can be used to outspeed Modest Gorebyss (after a Shell Smash?).

Usage Tips
========

Electrode's main purpose is as to be a revenge killer,[ac] as it can outspeed almost everything and has a pretty good coverage,[rc].[ap] [cap]Although it can outspeed most of the tier, it must be wary of other [cap]Scarfed revenge killers or and priority users. Due to Electrode's low bulk,[ac] it should never come in on moves that hit hard like such as Stoutland's Return. Electrode only has one real safe switch-in and that is choice locked Chatot. (misused switch-in) Electrode can really only switch into Chatot that are Choice-locked into Chatter. Try to not let the opponent take advantage of Electrode when using a Choice Specs set. Pull double switches if you think your opponent will go into a Lightning Rod [cap]Pokemon or a [cap]Ground-type. Volt Switch should be used most of the time unless Thunderbolt is needed to kill can KO the [cap]Pokemon in front of you. If Electrode is cleaning late-game,[ac] it should use Thunderbolt, as since it has the highest damage output.

Team Options
========

Pokemon who that remove [cap]Ground-types like Floatzel and Basculin so that Electrode can use his STAB safely are good teammates. Ground-types who that remove [cap]Electric-types that resist Electrode STABs STAB moves are also nice, removing Raichu in particular who has Lightning Rod. Electrode struggles to kill KO [cap]Grass-types,[ac] even though it has Hidden Power Ice,[ac] so [cap]Pokemon that can remove them or use them as setup fodder like such as Boufallant, Dodrio and Simisear are good teammates. Slow U-turners like Vibrava and Pelliper can take a hit for Electrode and then switch into Electrode it, while faster U-turners and Volt Switchers can form an offensive VoltTurn core. Hazard setters like Roselia and Metang can help to get extra chip damage which helps with Electrode's Volt Switches allowing it to deal more chip damage. Wallbreakers that can get rid of specially defensive walls or tank like Relicanth or Vigoroth can help to aid in an Electrode clean-up. Offensive fire-types like Monferno and Rapidash appreciate having water-types gone. Monferno especially since Electrode can also deal with flying-types.

Moves
========

Rain Dance is to start up rain allowing it to support its teammates in activating Swift Swim and making water-type moves stronger as well as making Hurricane and Thunder hit 100% of the time. Taunt can stop pokemon from using hazards or status like Quilladin and Gabite. Thunder is used since Rain Dance makes Thunder 100% accurate as well as give Electrode a stronger attack than Thunderbolt. Explosion is used to get out into another pokemon as fast as possible while almost always doing a lot of damage. Volt Switch can be used if Electrode hasn't already died to shift into another opponent and thanks to Electrode's speed it should go first almost always.

Set Details
========

Damp Rock is to enhance the amount of rain turns allowing it to be easier to abuse. Soundproof gives Electrode a safe switch in against choice locked Chatot. The EV spread is to outspeed Zebstrika by one point. 252 HP EVs go into helping Electrode take a hit slightly since Electrode doesn't have the best bulk. The rest go into SpA to help deal a bit more damage.The following EV spread 252 HP / 120 SpA / 136 Spe can be used to outspeed timid Fraxure after Dragon Dance by one point.

Usage Tips
========

Electrode plays the role as a dedicated rain lead thanks to it being very fast and being able to get out as quickly as possible allowing team mates to get the maximum amount of rain turns available. Electrode's priority is to set up rain ASAP, the only time it shouldn't use Rain Dance is if there is another lead such as Venipede, Leavanny, and Quilladin but it can't Taunt pokemon such as Golem and Metang as they will OHKO Electrode and it won't be able to get rain up. Electrode should only Taunt leads that cannot OHKO it. Electrode should not stay in after setting up Rain Dance unless there is a water-type that doesn't have Swift Swim in front of you, this is to preserve as many turns as possible for stronger team mates that can abuse rain. Due to Electrode's poor bulk it should not switch into most moves, Electrode's safest switch-in is Chatot's choice locked Boomburst. Electrode is an expendable member as long as it can get rain up in most situations.

Team Options
========

Electrode should only be used on rain teams with pokemon that gain from it. Rain abusers such as Floatzel, Armaldo, and Beartic get the extra speed boost from Swift Swim as well as a buff to their water-type moves while pokemon such as Swanna and Articuno get to spam Hurricane due to it now having 100% accuracy and in return these pokemon can remove ground-types for Electrode and grass-types for the water-type sweepers. Electric-types like Rotom-F and Raichu gain the benefit of being able to hit Thunder always while in rain they can also remove other water-types that may try to abuse the rain. Bulky grass-types can take fire-type attacks easier thanks to rain making fire moves such as Flamethrower and Fire Blast not as strong. Pokemon such as Gourgeist and Exeggutor are two notable examples. Electrode can not single handedly support a rain team on its own so other rain setters are needed for a proper rain team.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Electrode has a very shallow movepool that doesn't give it many other options. Toxic might be a cool option for crippling opponents right before Electrode dies but it doesn't have the room for this on any of its sets. Toxic is meant mostly for Stunfisk who is Electrode's worst match up. Thunder Wave is also another option being used mostly to cripple faster pokemon that might be threatening to your team before Electrode dies. Targets specifically are pokemon like Rapidash and Regice. Magic Coat can help to bounce back hazards and status that may be coming Electrode's way, but once again Electrode doesn't have the moveslot to give up for this.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric Immunities** Ground-types are immune to Electrode's STAB and although the offensive variant uses Hidden Power Ice most of the time, Electrode still isn't that threatening to OHKO or do a lot of damage to Ground-types. Pokemon like Golem and Stunfisk can threaten Electrode with an Earthquake. Pokemon like Zebstrika and Raichu also have Lightning Rod which makes it immune to Electrode's STAB and they can both hit Electrode with a neutral and potentially boosted coverage move.

**Bulky Pokemon** These pokemon that can usually take Electrode's Thunderbolt like Grumpig and Lickyicky can hit it with a strong STAB move due to there good bulk.

**Grass-Types** grass-types like Gogoat, Roselia and Gourgeist formes can take Electordes STAB and persue to do whatever they do best like spread Leech Seed or hit with a Giga Drain. Although grass-types have to beware of Hidden Power Ice.

**Priority and Faster Pokemon** Although Electrode is very fast it gets outspeeded by almost every choice scarf user since Electrode itself doesn't run Choice Scarf. They can threaten Electrode with a hard hitting move and exploit Electrode's low bulk. Priority also threatens Electrode like Monferno's Mach Punch and Pawniard's Sucker Punch.

Not my usual environment but I noticed that the EV spread for the Rain Lead set is really inefficient. The current 252 HP / 60 SpA / 196 Spe spread with a Modest nature gives raw stats of 324/232/365, but a spread of 252 HP / 192 SpA / 64 Spe with a Timid nature gives stats of 324/244/365. This is an increase of 12 SpA points with no drawback.

Electrode should not Taunt Pokemon such as Golem and Metang, as they will OHKO Electrode, preventing it from setting rain ; it should only Taunt leads that cannot OHKO it. Electrode should not stay in after setting up Rain Dance unless it is against a Water-type that doesn't have Swift Swim; this is to preserve as many turns as possible for stronger teammates to take advantage of the rain. Due to Electrode's poor bulk, it should not switch into most moves; its safest opportunity to switch in is Chatot's Choice-locked Boomburst. Electrode is an expendable member as long as it can get rain up in most situations.

Team Options
========

Electrode should only be used on rain teams with Pokemon that gain from its support. Rain abusers such as Floatzel, Armaldo, and Beartic get the extra Speed boost from Swift Swim as well as a buff to their Water-type moves. Pokemon such as Swanna and Articuno get to spam 100%- perfectly accurate Hurricane under rain and can remove Ground-types for Electrode and Grass-types for the Water-type sweepers. Electric-types like Rotom-F and Raichu gain perfectly accurate Thunder while in rain; they can also remove opposing Water-types that may try to abuse take advantage of the rain. Bulky Grass-types can take Fire-type attacks, such as Flamethrower and Fire Blast, more easily thanks to rain weakening their power; (SC) Gourgeist (which one?) and Exeggutor are two notable examples. Electrode cannot single-handedly support a rain team, so other rain setters (such as?) are needed for a proper rain team.

Other Options
=============

Electrode has a very shallow movepool that doesn't give it many other options. Toxic might be a cool option for crippling foes right before Electrode faints and is particularly useful against Stunfisk, which is Electrode's worst matchup; however, Electrode doesn't have the room for this on any of its sets. Thunder Wave is used mostly to cripple faster Pokemon that might be threatening to your team, especially Rapidash and Regice. Magic Coat can help to bounce back entry hazards and status that may be coming Electrode's way, but once again, (AC) Electrode doesn't have a moveslot to give up for this.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-immune Pokemon**: Ground-types are immune to Electrode's STAB moves and aren't threatened much by Hidden Power Ice. Pokemon like Golem and Stunfisk can threaten Electrode with an Earthquake. Lightningrod Pokemon like Zebstrika and Raichu are immune to Electrode's STAB moves, and they can both hit Electrode with a neutral and potentially boosted coverage move.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Due to their good bulk, Pokemon like Grumpig and Lickilicky can usually take Electrode's Thunderbolt and hit it with a strong STAB move.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types like Gogoat, Roselia, and the Gourgeist formes can take Electrode's STAB attacks and spread Leech Seed or hit it with Giga Drain. However, they have to beware of Hidden Power Ice.

**Priority and Faster Pokemon**: Although Electrode is very fast, it gets outsped by almost every Choice Scarf user. They can threaten Electrode with a hard-hitting move, exploiting its low bulk. Priority also threatens Electrode, examples being Monferno's Mach Punch and Pawniard's Sucker Punch.

[OVERVIEW]

Electrode is the second fastest unboosted Pokemon in PU, (AC) after Ninjask, (AC) bar Choice Scarf Pokemon, meaning it can revenge kill most of the tier while still holding a power-boosting item. Electrode It rivals Zebstrika in uses, but they have different movepools and niches, with Zebstrika being immune to Grass-type moves and Electrode being immune to sound-based moves, which makes it a check to Chatot. Zebstrika can hit Grass-types back with Overheat, while Electrode is stronger because it is able to run a Modest nature over Timid most of the time. Electrode is also able to safely revenge kill opposing weakened Zebstrika, whereas Zebstrika has to risk a Speed tie in mirror matchups. Notably, (AC) Electrode also makes for a fast rain lead with a 100%-perfectly accurate Thunder. It has Taunt, allowing Its access to Taunt further allows it to perform as an anti-lead by stopping Sticky Web and Spikes, but it must watch out for other common leads that carry Earthquake. Aside from that, Electrode has a shallow movepool that doesn't allow it to beat common Pokemon that can OHKO it or set up on it. Electrode's lackluster bulk means it is OHKOed by a plethora of setup sweepers, priority users, and pretty much every foe with a strong Ground-type move like Earthquake or Earth Power.

Moves

Thunderbolt doesn't force Electrode to switch out and is a bit stronger than Volt Switch, which is used to gain momentum while still doing a lot of damage. Hidden Power Ice provides coverage against Grass-types like Roselia and Tangela; it also 2HKOes Vibrava, Fraxure, and Gabite and OHKOes Jumpluff. Signal Beam provides coverage against Psychic-types like Kadabra. If running Life Orb, Taunt can be used to stop bulkier Pokemon like Roselia, Pawniard, and Clefairy from setting up on Electrode.

Set Details
========

Life Orb boosts Electrode's damage output and allows it to change moves. Alternatively, (AC) Choice Specs allows Electrode to hit a lot harder and without recoil in exchange for the ability to switch moves. Soundproof allows Electrode to not get revenge killed by Choice Scarf Chatot's Boomburst. The given EV spread allows Electrode to outspeed Timid Zebstrika by one point. An EV spread of 120 HP / 252 SpA / 136 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to outspeed Fraxure after one Dragon Dance. Another alternative is 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe with a Timid nature to outspeed Modest Gorebyss after it uses Shell Smash.

Usage Tips
========

Electrode's main purpose is to act as a revenge killer, as it can outspeed almost everything and has pretty good coverage. However, it must be wary of other revenge killers with Choice Scarf and priority users. Due to Electrode's low bulk, it should never come in on strong attacks like Stoutland's Return. Electrode only has one real safe switch in, and that is Chatot Choice-locked into Boomburst. Try not to let the opponent take advantage of Electrode if using Choice Specs. Make double switches if you think your opponent will go into a Lightningrod Pokemon or a Ground-type. Volt Switch should be used most of the time, unless Thunderbolt is needed to KO the Pokemon in front of Electrode. If Electrode is cleaning late-game, it should use Thunderbolt, as it has the highest damage output.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Floatzel and Basculin, which can remove Ground-types so Electrode can use its STAB moves safely, are good teammates. Ground-types to remove Electric-types that resist Electrode's STAB moves are also nice; removing Raichu in particular, which has Lightning Rod Lightningrod, is helpful. Electrode struggles to KO Grass-types even though it has Hidden Power Ice, so Pokemon that can remove them or use them as setup fodder like Bouffalant, Dodrio, and Simisear are good teammates. Slow U-turn users like Vibrava and Probopass can take a hit for Electrode and then switch into it bring it in safely, while faster U-turn and Volt Switch users can form an offensive VoltTurn core with it. Entry hazard setters like Roselia and Metang can help to get extra chip damage combined with Electrode's Volt Switches. Wallbreakers that can get rid of specially defensive walls or tanks like Choice Band Relicanth and Swords Dance Boufallant can help pave the way for Electrode to clean up. Offensive Fire-types like Monferno and Rapidash appreciate having Water-types gone. Monferno also benefits from Electrode dealing with Flying-types.

Rain Dance allows Electrode to support its teammates by activating Swift Swim, making Water-type moves stronger, and making Hurricane and Thunder hit 100% of the time. Taunt can stop Pokemon like Quilladin and Gabite from setting entry hazards or inflicting status. Thunder is used because Rain Dance makes it 100% accurate, and it gives Electrode a stronger attack than Thunderbolt. Explosion is used to bring in another Pokemon as fast as possible while almost always doing a lot of damage. Volt Switch can be used if Electrode hasn't already fainted to switch to a teammate, and thanks to Electrode's Speed, (AC) it should almost always go first.

Set Details

Damp Rock enhances the number of rain turns, making it easier to abuse take advantage of. Soundproof gives Electrode a safe switch in against Choice-locked Chatot. The Speed EVs allow Electrode to outspeed Zebstrika by one point. 252 HP EVs go into helping Electrode take a hit, as it doesn't have the best bulk. The rest goes into Special Attack to help it deal a bit more damage. The EV spread 252 HP / 120 SpA / 136 Spe can be used to outspeed Timid (Jolly?) Fraxure even after it uses Dragon Dance.

for the record i had to edit this analysis quite a bit, there was some important information missing like how Zebstrika is usually the better choice as well as suspect sentences like "Signal Beam provides coverage against Psychic-types like Kadabra.", "Pokemon like Golem and Stunfisk can threaten Electrode with an Earthquake.", and "Electrode should not Taunt Pokemon such as Golem and Metang, as they will OHKO Electrode" (252+ Atk Metang Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Electrode: 224-264 (69.1 - 81.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO). Not to be harsh, but I'd recommend getting more accustomed to the PU metagame before doing another analysis, especially since your other analysis was reassigned.
