FLAVOR

Summary:

  • Improved senses (+4 Final Speed, +5% Flat Acc) for Poison-type Pokemon.
  • Poison Haze deals 0.5 DPA to Pokemon that have neither a Poison typing nor Poison Heal and corrodes Steel-types after one (1) round of being exposed.
    • The only ability that this effect activates is Toxic Boost.
    • This does not prevent a Pokemon from being afflicted with PSN or BPSN, but counts as being poisoned.
  • Dig or Dive used by Pokemon without a Poison typing have a 30% chance of inflicting BPSN on the Pokemon and suffer a one (1) BAP reduction.
  • All weather increases the DPA of the Poisonous Haze by one (1). The abilities Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning bring their respective weather into effect for four (4) rounds instead of an infinite duration.
    • Toxic Rain increases the DPA of Poisonous Haze by one (1) and possesses the normal qualities of rain.
  • If a seismic attack (including Earth Power), Dig, a Water-type attack that requires a water source, or an attack with at least eight (8) BAP aimed at the ground is used, special tubes of acid underground explode and spray Special Gastro Acid on all Pokemon currently in play.
    • Special Gastro Acid lasts for six (6) actions, is not removed upon switching out even with U-turn, does not affect Traits such as Levitate, and affects Pokemon so long as they would take damage from poison; that is, Poison-type Pokemon and non-corroded Steel-types are immune to Special Gastro Acid, although they are affected by it should their immunity to poison change.

I'll leave Abilities and Subs up to you.

Nidoran-M (Omono) (M)
Nature: Mild (Special Attack increased by *, Defense decreased by *)

Type: Poison
Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.

Abilities:
Poison Point: (Can be Disabled) This Pokemon’s spikes/quills/thorns are coated in poison, and there is a 30% chance of poisoning any foe that uses a contact attack on this Pokemon. When disabled, all of this Pokemon's attacks that inflict regular poison will inflict Toxic poison (with the same chance of effect).
Rivalry: (Innate) This Pokemon has a primal response to competition and mating, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its attacks by two (2) when it attacks an opponent of the same gender in the same Egg Group, and decreasing the power of all its attacks by two (2) when it faces an opponent of the opposite gender in the same Egg Group (Monster/Ground are used for Nidorina/Nidoqueen).
Hustle (LOCKED): (Can be Enabled) This Pokemon puts immense force and speed in its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.

Riolu(*) Gray (M)

Gray the Riolu first clapped eyes on Zt when he hatched, and has followed him ever since, after bidding goodbye to his birth parents. His desire to be as good as his father (who was a well-known Pokemon in Sinnoh) drives him to perfect his body and trademark Aura Sight in all forms of training. Gray is Natsu’s rival in every way, however it’s not unusual to see them interrupt their fights just to face ‘outsiders’. Like his Ice-Making namesake, Gray is a thinking brawler. His intuition for fights, along with his uncanny ability to read his opponents movements, means he can usually counter the same instant his opponent makes a move. Oddly enough, despite numerous brawls, he sometimes still can’t read Natsu’s moves correctly.

Nature: Serious (N/A)

Type:
Fighting type: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Steadfast
Type: Innate
If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Ability 2: Inner Focus
Type: Innate
When an opponent attempts to flinch Riolu, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

Ability 3: Prankster (DW)
Type: Innate
Riolu is always prepared for engaging in subtle tactics, giving its non-damaging attacks an increase in priority level.

Staryu - Charla (F)

Charla is Wendy's closest friend and confidante since Daycare. Witty, and quick to learn the ways of the world, Charla did not trust Zheng at first sight, naturally, and disapproves of Natsu and Gray's loud brawls every other minute they were together. Charla looks out for Wendy, not afraid to stand up to bigger, meaner Pokemons, and its the precise quality she sees in Zheng's group that warms her up to the team. Charla is very touchy, resisting most physical contacts except with Wendy, retaliating with swift hit-and-run tactics whenever approached thus.

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)

Type:
Water type: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Illuminate
Type: Can be Activated
When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intense light that blinds all opponents, reducing their Accuracy stage by one (1) at the cost of 5 EN. The accuracy drop will last six (6) actions after the Pokemon is released. (Command - Ability: Illuminate)

Ability 2: Natural Cure
Type: Innate
This Pokemon’s body has the ability to heal itself of status afflictions over time, it goes into effect six (6) actions after being inflicted with a status. In switch battles, this Pokemon heals all status effects when switched out.

Ability 3: Analytic (DW)

Should I be relieved Staryu is not yet Psychic? Anyway let's start by attempting to gain definite Speed advantage. Charla, start off with a paralysis aimed at Shoki-Stunky. Gray, execute a nice attack while Shoki-Stunky is nicely paralyzed. Oh, and since Engi's a haxxy trainer in his own hopefully future gym, we gotta take precautions - Gray, prepare to make a Feint. Now that Shoki-Stunky is having muscle cramp and pre-shock immobilisation, load unto Omono-Nidoran instead - his coverage worries me. That's it for now - let's test the waters while I flesh out this crazy tactic.

"Hmm, we need to make it quick - the very land is seething dangerous aura. Plus, Natsu's gonna steal my cake if I went away too long."

".. Will you two ever stop fighting amongst each other?"

Gray(Riolu): Shadow Claw > Blaze Kick > Crunch , all at Omono-Nidoran.
Charla(Staryu): Thunder Wave (Shoki-Stunky) > Bubblebeam (Omono-Nidoran) > Thunderbolt (Omono-Nidoran)

IF Charla's target uses Protect, Gray uses Feint that action.

Arena: Poison Haze

As the four Pokemon are all ready on the battlefield, Engineer Pikachu and ZhengTann look at each other and know to start. ZhengTann quickly orders his Pokemon, and Engineer just as quickly counter orders. Staryu is the first to respond, zapping Stunky with a Thunder Wave. The jolt of electricity leaves Stunky paralyzed, slowing it down immensely. It also apparently prevents Stunky from attacking, as Stunky seems to be fully paralyzed. Riolu then follows up with a Shadow Claw on Nidoran-M. The attack does some pretty decent damage, and luckily Riolu manages to avoid being poisoned by Nidoran-M's toxic barbs. Nidoran-M counters with a powerful Venoshock. Even though Riolu isn't poisoned in the traditional sense, being in this arena seems to still leave it vulnerable to Venoshock, and it is hit by the full force of the attack. Staryu and Riolu seem to be uncomfortable in this arena, and the air isn't sitting well with them...

Staryu aims to protect Riolu, and fires a BubbleBeam towards Nidoran-M. The bubbles seem to slow Nidoran-M down somehow, though if you asked me how I wouldn't be able to give you a scientific reason why. Riolu times its attack well, and lands a Blaze Kick on Nidoran-M too. I guess it didn't place the attack well enough though, because Riolu has been struck by Nidoran-M's Poison Point ability, leaving it poisoned. Nidoran-M uses another Venoshock on Riolu, causing Riolu to reel over in pain. Stunky finally joins in the battle, spewing out some fire in a Flame Burst against Staryu. The flames also strike Riolu, damaging it even more. The poisonous haze in the air once again takes its toll on Staryu and Riolu, and to make matters worse for ZhengTann and his team, Riolu is also damaged from Poison.

Staryu goes into full offense, firing another bolt of electricity. This time however, it's one that damages, as Staryu zaps Nidoran-M with Thunderbolt. The attack also paralyzes Nidoran-M, though not as badly as Stunky. Riolu continues the assault on Nidoran-M, and chomps down on it with a Crunch. I suppose now that Riolu is already poisoned, it can be as reckless as it wants with its attacks. That strategy must be working a little, because the attack also lowered Nidoran-M's Defense. Nidoran-M once again spews out that corrosive Venoshock against Riolu, and Stunky does the same thing. From all those overpowered poison attacks, Riolu is having a tough time standing... and as the poisonous haze and Poison status further damage it, it doesn't look like Riolu will be lasting much longer.

Arena: Poison Haze

I'm counting the +4 final Speed boost as +4 [final] Speed after speed modifiers. Engi, if it's supposed to be different please let me know!

Engineer Pikachu

Yeah that's right; the other interpretation would be ridiculous. Thanks for subreffing this!

Anyway, paralysis is kind of unfortunate, but we can still do this!

Omono: Thunderbolt (Charla) - Sucker Punch (Charla) - Thunderbolt (Charla)
IF (Charla uses Recover on A2) THEN (Use Mega Thunderbolt (Charla) on A2 instead)

Shoki: Flame Burst - Flame Burst - Flame Burst
IF (Gray is KOed) THEN (Replace all actions with Venoshock (Charla))

edit: Flame Bursts are targeted at Gray. Zt has confirmed that his actions remain the same.

22:13 Zt Yeah Engi, I'm not reordering, coz' Nidoran's probably down after those hits.

We gotta toss them around. Hopefully knocking those two poison-rodents (correct me if I'm wrong) together might throw off their aim. Enduring won't work, Gray, so we might as well go off with style. Hit Omono-Nidoran and Shoki-Stunky with Earthquake. Before that, Charla's gonna throw Omono-Nidoran right at Shoki-Stunky with Psychic, so that should finish off Omono-Nidoran for good. After that, Gray, hit an 8-Instagram Palm Strike on Shoki-Stunky. We have to buy time for Charla to Recover - Except she won't, not at A3.

"I see... cough, all on you now Charla. They hit me first because, of course, I'm a guy and you're a girl."

"Well, since our attacks actually managed to hax that Pikachu's friends just now... Go, Gray."

Gray (Riolu) : Earthquake > Double Force Palm combo [8 Instagrams - 64 Palm Strikes!!] (Shoki-Stunky) > combo cooldown
IF Omono-Nidoran is still alive at A2, Gray-Riolu uses EQ on A2 and push actions back.
Charla (Staryu) : Psychic (Omono-Nidoran towards Shoki-Stunky) > Supersonic (Shoki-Stunky) > Recover

Arena: Poison Haze

Both Riolu and Nidoran-M look pretty exhausted, and everyone in the battle knows they won't last the round. Staryu quickly uses Psychic powers to launch Nidoran-M into Stunky, inflicting major damage on Nidoran-M, while slightly bruising Stunky. Riolu, despite all its injuries, slams the ground with such incredible force that it causes an Earthquake which damages all the other Pokemon on the field, and knocking out Nidoran-M. The quake also busted open some pipes with acid, causing acid to spray on everything, though it doesn't seem to have affected Stunky. It's hard to tell, but I think that acid was similar to Gastro Acid, because it seems like Staryu and Riolu can't use their abilities. Hmm... Stunky takes this opportunity to blast Riolu with a Flame Burst, which knocks it out and also causes some splash damage on Staryu. That's karma for you I guess. To boot, the poison haze in the air continues to eat away at Staryu.

Staryu then creates a Supersonic noise that echoes around the arena, confusing Stunky. Stunky seems to be so confused that it hits itself in confusion! Things might be looking up for Staryu, even though it is once again damaged by the haze in the air.

Using a different approach, Staryu beings to repair itself with Recover. That brings it back to almost full health, while Stunky just sits there, fully paralyzed. Stunky has been quite unlucky so far, giving Staryu a slight advantage. The arena is still in Stunky's favor though, and it shows once more as Staryu is hurt by the poison haze.

Oka-ay, now let's relieve ourselves from further arena damage. Start by Camouflaging yourself in this poisonous environment, Charla - this will hopefully cut down Shoki-Stunky's moves and Engi's tactics. (Thank goodness Shoki-Stunky is in Severe Confusion and Paralysis, though Parahax in PS is unlike Parahax in ASB.)

Charla (Staryu) : Camouflage [Poison-type] > Aurora Beam > Water Gun , all at the still-standing Shoki-Stunky.

Engineer Pikachu

Good morning, you bastards!

Not so fast! We got just a bit haxed, but nothing you can do about that...

Start off by Snatching that little Camouflage trick; we're not going to let our target get away so easily. Then enter the arms race with a quick Venoshock, before dousing our opponent in a nice pile of sludge! If possible, try and get the sludge to pool around Charla's bottom-most points to restrict its mobility; we'll need that edge in Speed later on, so it's okay to give up some damage as long as we can get that Staryu as stuck in the muck as possible.

Shoki: Snatch (Charla) - Venoshock (Charla) - Sludge Bomb (Charla)

With any luck our next two rounds will be more of a breeze!

Arena: Poison Haze

Now that both battlers are down to their last Pokemon, things are getting intense. Staryu attempts to change its typing to Poison to negate the effects of the arena using Camouflage, but Stunky quickly steals it away with Snatch. Too bad, because that was a clever move. If only ZhengTann had given Staryu a substitution command using his last substitution. The poisonous haze continues to wear away at Staryu though, damaging it further.

Staryu goes back on the offensive, shining a brilliant Aurora Beam at Stunky. The attack doesn't have any special effects, but it looked really cool and did some impressive damage to Stunky. Stunky retaliates with another Venoshock though, which effortlessly trumps the damage Staryu did due to the arena effects. Speaking of which, the haze is still damaging Staryu by the minute, and you can see how its condition is declining slowly.

Both Pokemon continue to exchange attacks, with Staryu firing a Water Gun at Stunky that leaves it drenched. In return, Stunky makes an effort to slow Staryu down by launching a Sludge Bomb at some of its lower appendages. While it doesn't manage to do that as the sludge that attacks Staryu explodes, it does do quite a bit of damage to it.

Double Team [3] - Venoshock - Night Slash

Since there's no sub, I can finally disguise her to lessen that Venoshock damage. Double Team's not gonna work if I can hit all three of them at once. Hmm....

"Sorry, but you're not stealing away this one."

Charla (Staryu) : Thunderbolt > Camouflage > Swift (all 3 clones)
IF Swift is unable to hit all clones then use Psychic to throw one of them at another.

Actually, Swift always hits through Double Team (as do all -- Acc moves). You can also use spread attacks like Surf/Rock Slide/etc. to hit through Double Team, though they'll be at .75 power.

I really have no idea whether or Venoshock should have increased power against Poison-type Pokemon, but I'm reffing it as yes because like ingame, Poison- and Steel-types can have the Poisoned status but just won't take damage from it, and I'm assuming that's what this is like? IDK

Arena: Poison Haze

With Stunky still soaked from the Water Gun, Staryu proceeds to zap Stunky with a Thunderbolt. It looks like it did a lot of extra damage from all the water in its fur, and I think it even scored a critical hit. Stunky then creates some clones of itself with Double Team. Interesting choice. Staryu looks a little bewildered (for a Staryu), and as it again damaged by the haze in the air, that bewilderment turns a little frantic.

Staryu halts its assault to attempt to use Camouflage once more. It seems that happened just in time, as Stunky attacks with another Venoshock, which also seems to score a critical hit. That could have been bad if Staryu hadn't just changed its type. Speaking of which, the haze in the air doesn't look like its bothering Staryu anymore. In fact, Staryu looks like its much more comfortable in this arena, even a little faster than normal.

This shows as Staryu uses Swift to summon a barrage of stars that locate the real Stunky and inflict some damage. Stunky swipes at Staryu with a Night Slash in retaliation, although its not as strong as normal since Stunky has lost its Dark typing. The hax this round seems to have swung the advantage in ZhengTann's favor, but let's see what happens next...

Action 1:
Staryu used Thunderbolt!
RNG Roll (Crit) [<=625 Crit]: 89/10000 (Crit)

Hey, since Poison Haze doesn't affect Poison-types, does this mean Venoshock no longer does extra damage to Charla? So cheers, no more 13 BPA! Lovely that Charla has a faster Psychic to Shoki's Dig too. Let's wrap it up if we can, girl.

"Proof of girl power, even on both sides. Say, would you like some high tea next Friday? We can each bring a new friend!"

Charla (Staryu) : Psychic > Swift > Thunderbolt
IF Shoki-Stunky uses Protect A1 THEN replace A1 with Chill and push actions back.

I honestly am not sure how to ref it, but since Staryu was "poisoned" before it changed its typing, to me it makes sense to have Venoshock be at double power. IDK, if everyone bitches at me I'll change it, but that's just my gut reaction.

Both Pokemon look as though they can't take much more, but Stunky suddenly builds up a lot of energy with Endure. I think everyone knows where this is going. Staryu attacks Stunky with a Psychic, but it doesn't manage to knock out Stunky.

Staryu tries again with Swift, but Stunky just gets up from the attack. It then burrows underground before surfacing with Dig, hitting the Poison-type Staryu for super effective damage.

On its last attack, Staryu zaps Stunky with another Thunderbolt. The attack still doesn't stop Stunky though, who lands another Dig which knocks out Staryu, ending the match.
