Dratini: Valoo (M)

Nature: Quiet (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Attack; Divides Base Speed by 1.15 and gives a flat 10 point decrease in evasion, effectively adding 10 accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 95) on an opponent’s attacks.

Type:

Dragon: Dragon STAB; more in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Thrash without losing focus.

Abilities:
Shed Skin: (Innate) This Pokemon regularly sheds its skin and any impurities contained in its body. If afflicted with a status condition, this Pokemon has a 33% chance of removing all status conditions at the end of a round.
Marvel Scale (DW): (Locked, Innate) This Pokemon’s coat shimmers when afflicted with a status condition, reducing the Base Attack Power of incoming physical attacks by two (2).

Nature: Sassy (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Defense; Divides Base Speed by 1.15 and gives a flat 10 point decrease in evasion, effectively adding 10 accuracy (e.g. 85 becomes 95) on an opponent’s attacks.

Type:

Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
Ghost: Ghost STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.

Abilities:
Iron Fist: (Innate) The Base Attack Power of this Pokemon’s “Punch” attacks is increased by two (2). (Known attacks affected: Bullet Punch, Comet Punch, Dizzy Punch, Drain Punch, Dynamicpunch, Fire Punch, Focus Punch, Hammer Arm, Ice Punch, Mach Punch, Mega Punch, Meteor Mash, Shadow Punch, Sky Uppercut, Thunderpunch)
Klutz: (Can be Disabled) The Pokemon moves in a rare style of battling that uses an unpredictable, clumsy looking manner. The accuracy of its attacks are increased by 10% (flat). While engaging in this style it cannot use a hold item, though an item is necessary to pull it off.
No Guard (DW): (Locked, Innate) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.

Poison: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.

Abilities:
Compoundeyes: (Innate) This Pokemon’s complex eyes give it a comprehensive view of the field, making its attack 30% (x1.3) more accurate.
Tinted Lens: (Innate) When this Pokemon uses an attack that is normally not very effective, that attack is calculated at the next highest resisrance modifier. (e.g. 4x resistance is calculated at 2x, 2x resistance becomes neutral).
Run Away (DW): (Locked, Innate) This Pokemon is quick on its feet and will evade any field traps and hazards that would harm it (Spikes, Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes) in an arena. A Pokemon can still absorb Toxic Spikes if it has Run Away and is Poison-typed. Run Away does not allow the Pokemon to switch out of trapping moves or abilities, however it can escape other situational trapping strategies in battle.

Type: Ghost/Poison
Ghost: Ghost STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.

Poison: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.

Ability:
Levitate : (Trait) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Abilities:
Torrent (Innate): When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 12 to 14)
Defiant (Innate) (DW;Locked): The Pokemon has a deep sense of honor, and whenever one of its stats are decreased by an opponent's Attack or Ability, its Attack increases by two (2) stages. Attack Boosts gained this way are not subject to deterioration that round.

Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Clear Body (Innate):This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal (Trait) (DW;Locked): The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

Espeon65 needs to specify Switch and Items. Then send out lead.
EndQuote sends out lead and orders.
Espeon65 orders.
I reff.

Umm how about
Switch= OK
Items= Training

But actually, since Endquote is the Match Seeker in this situation, he sends out first.

Arenas: The Match Seeker is expected to provide an Arena for battle; however, they may forfeit this right to the opponent in exchange for posting second.
Oh my, what a quagsire. Okay, I guess here's what I can do:

Endquote decides whether or not to counter Switch and Items Clauses. If Endquote declines countering, Endquote will send out lead first. If Endquote counters, I'll accept the result as final, and Espeon65 sends out first.
The main reasoning behind this is that, IMO, those who order second usually has the advantage (after all, you can only sub for that many conditions), hence the player who orders second in the first round has a better dealt hand. So, if Endquote intends to counter these Clauses to get the upper hand, Espeon65 can regain the balance by ordering second. Any forum moderator who disagrees with me can simply edit this post, override my decisions, and then let the battle commence wherever possible. I'm sorry about this hitch, truly, I am.

Assuming All Abilities, just because it's kinda standard.

Right, I'll send out first, no worries.
Anghammarad the Golett is up first, holding an Amulet Coin!

Going with the obvious choice...

Go Pauly @Amulet Coin!

Unown T (Tail Glow)~Ice Beam~Surf

IF he uses Focus Punch A1 AND NOT A2, THEN use Ice Beam and push back. (So Ice Beam~Tail Glow~Ice Beam)

IF he uses Focus A1 AND A2, THEN change actions to Bide~Hold~Release.

("Hmm, Unowns hardly taste good. C is chicken-cabbage, S is salmon-steak, T had been trout-truffle... Well, maybe T isn't that bad.") Yeah, but we're not here to eat today, Nargacuga. Welcome to the Cauldron of Bubbling Pokemon, folks, where two teams of wittle cusps are facing off! Espeon leads with a six-five Pauly-Piplup ("Not six-feet-five-inches, of course.") while Endquote sends out his Klutz Anghammarad-Golett onto the field.

Pauly-Piplup, smirking, starting to Glow like an Unown disco Taillight, focusing his mind on freezing and drowning Anghammarad-Golett. However, the walking construct proves to be an appreciative audience, applauding Pauly-Piplup into a spectacularly... failing Encore. Taking the opportunity, Anghammarad-Golett proceeds to litter the cauldron platform with Stealthy Pebbly Ninja Rocks before launching a right hook of ThunderPunch at Pauly-Piplup, landing the first blow!! Seems Endquote did some really maddening stuff to Espeon65, let's hope Pauly-Piplup can unleash his tide of rage and give our spectator an exciting match!

Counter switch, Espeon?

Unown C for Camouflage (Into the Water-type, as this is soup) ~ Thunderbolt ~
Dragon Pulse
IF Unown M for Mirror Coat is used successfully a2 or a3 THEN Dragon Tail that action and push back.
IF Piplup has Double Team clones up on your action on a2 or a3 THEN Icy Wind that action and push back.

Whatever, gotta roll with the punches:

Unown V (Volt Switch)~Surf~HYDRO BEAM(Hydro Pump+Ice Beam combo)

Whoops, Zhengtann, Thunderpunch is boosted by Iron Fist, meaning it does 3 more damage.
Hate to nitpick, but WOO THREE DAMAGE.

I've edited the previous post to include your items, so that I won't mess up the due rewards. Also, a -Speed nature results in flat +10% accuracy to all opponents' attacks against you, last I remembered, so Hydro Pump + Ice Beam combo with 90% accuracy hits Dratini. Just correct me if I'm wrong.

And Valoo-Dratini comes out on Endquote's command, eager to capitalize on his teammate's strategy. He started out by submerging into the stew of Unowns ("Hey, I saw you eating one.") for Camouflage, but Pauly-Piplup simply grabs another Unown and Switches on the couldron's Critical Voltage lever! Shocked, Valoo-Dratini pays back in kind by hurling a Thunderbolt at Pauly-Piplup, who apparently ran out of tricks and decided to Surf around the cauldron instead, swamping everyone with broth! ("Did them humans just seemed tastier with dripping soup and hanging Unowns...?")

And right before going out, Pauly-Piplup decides to drop every last crit of what he got at Valoo-Dratini by blasting Frigid Pump ("Now that sounds better than Hydro Beam, sorry Pink-Kitty-with-Numbers.") right after eating a Pulse that tastes like Dragon in the face! Wait a minute... Did we just went food theme at Unown Soup? Ah, whatever. Now that Espeon65 has mandated a Switch phase, anticipation arises at who will be the next on the grounds!

Combinations can be used any action of the round, but combinations used on the last action of a round require a cool down on action 1 of the next round, meaning a Pokemon that ends a round with a combination cannot switch out unless forced out by an attack that round.
I sorta consider this being forced out by an attack. Can a more senior asb member give us a ruling? Can someone ask on #capasb? (I can't, on my kindle.) Not changing orders or reordering til we get this sorted out.

Dogfish44 obtained a ruling on this situation and stored it in a google doc that I have a link to in my signature. I will just fetch the ruling in question.

And we're seeing a lot of satisfaction from the bloodthirsty crowd this round, as Valoo-Dratini kicks off with a bolt of lightning ("Because Thunder is a sound, not a Lux.") at Pauly-Piplup, paralyzing his already exhausted, slicking and shaking body, only to abuse the extra free action by grabbing a Giga-sized Unown siphon that Drains of Pauly-Piplup's vitality! Playing a terribly wrathful risk, Pauly responds with a Cannon shot that Zaps Valoo-Dratini, leaving his opponent struck paralyzed. But, being stunned by an Unown did not manage to faze Valoo-Dratini, who proceeds to knock Pauly-Piplup out with a back-tail hurl of a second Thunderbolt! Oops, sorry Espeon for being too brief. What I meant was that since Endquote will be ordering first this coming round, he can decide whether or not to switch out his Dratini. Now that you've sent in your Beldum, you can counterswitch again, should Endquote chose to do so.

Yes, switching to Shadow.

Toxic~Unown H (Hex)~Dark Pulse

If he uses a protective/evasive move A1, use Toxic again A2 and don't push back. (So no Hex, Unown H is still unused)

Espeon65, you did not specify the item Shadow-Ghastly will be holding, so I'm assuming he's holding none. Sorry about that. And I'm currently not allowing Stealth Rock damage on Robert-Beldum unless I'm overruled. So keep these things in mind before you order.

EDIT : Forgot to put STAB in for Shadow Punch on Golett. Fixed that.

Holy- there's a lot of Pokeball tossing around here for 2 trainers, but finally we see Shadow-Gastly taking the field against Anghammarad-Golett. Wasting no time, the sadistic shade-poison-cloud seeps a part of his body into the golem, somehow intoxicating the poltergeist possessing the construct! Anghammarad-Golett picks up an Unown-H ("Great, there goes my Hunter-Head flavour.") but drops and accidentally stamps on it, failing to do anything with it ("Sigh - klutzy move, waste of a good tasty snack.")

Was that... Yes folks, we're seeing Shadow-Gastly trying to reassemble the crumbles of Unown-H, but before he could, Anghammarad-Golett tracks him down and lands a Shadow Jab on the black-purple blob. Panicking, Shadow-Gastly flies away, attempting to flinch with a Dark Pulse that blinds Anghammarad-Golett, yet it doesn't stop the trailing Shadow-Fist to Punch Gastly as he dodges to o avail... ("Put up a better fight, pink-telepathic-feline! Give that turtlish-robot hell for misusing Unown-H!")
