Unown Soup

Format = Multiples!!!
No Restrictions

The battlers are on a solid platform in the middle of a giant bowl filled with delicious broth. No move restrictions at all, because you can safely go seismetoad on the platform and there is plenty of broth to swampert your enemies with. In the soup, there is one of each letter unown floating in around aimlessly. They are all close enough to pick up, and a battler may use one action each round (they can't just use three unowns) to use any move that begins with that letter. Once an unown is used, it cannot be used again.

Type: Steel/Psychic
Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Abilities:
Clear Body (Innate):This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal (Trait) (DW;Locked): The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

No Guard: (Innate) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.
Steadfast (DW): (Innate) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Well it looks like we find ourselves back in the soup, and what better place is there for some newer mons from among the great ASB jungle to stretch their wings a little and see what they can do. Espeon65 leads us off with his very Quiet Piplup named Pauly. SimonSays decides against sending out his own little penguin and instead goes with an unusually Bold Budew by the name of Vigilante. The Budew starts us off with a blast of Stun Spores which take advantage of Pauly's slowness to be a little more accurate than usual. Of course once they cover the little blue bird he gets even slower. Not disturbed by the paralysis Pauly is first to dip into the soup as he grabs an I and turns it into an Inferno. Unfortunately the move is kind of innacurate and misses the opposing Grass type completely. Vigilante's return attack is a lot more accurate and the Energy Ball hits Pauly right in the chest. Fortunately for Espeon his Water type isn't being terribly hampered by the paralysis and is able to harness his nature boosted offensive capabilities into a nice Ice Beam. Shaking off the blow Vigilante decides her best option is to play set up for the rest of the match by laying some Spikes. Unable to do a gosh darned thing about the hazzards Pauly just blasts away with another Ice Beam and hopes for the best.

Vigilante moves quickly to snatch up another of the Unowns from the bowl and uses it to launch a barrage of Bullet Seeds at Pauly for some very nice STAB damage. Pauly responds with a blast of Icy Wind that slows down the bud a little but not near enough to bring it down to the Piplup's own speed. Vigilante then takes a moment to Mega Drain some health back while Pauly just wastes his time trying to grab an already used up Unown. The Grass type ends the round with a massive Leaf Storm that hits Pauly very hard but does leave SimonSays' mon a little lacking in power afterwards. Fortunately the move is followed by Pauly's paralysis finally getting the better of him and he is unable to do a darned thing. Looks like that round definitely went to the Budew.

We kick off the round with both trainers taking advantage of the switching rules and sending fresh mons out to take the field. Espeon is even able to avoid the Spikes by sending out Shadow the Levitating Ghastly. Shadow kicks right off by firing a blast of Toxic gunk at King the Machop and while it will gradually worsen and hurt the fighter it also served to activate his Guts. King immediately shows off the ability by grabbing an unown from the soup and Smacking Shadow Down with some added force. Liking the look of that trick the Ghost type grabs an unown of its own to go with one of his type's go to moves that he hasn't yet to master with a Hex on poor statused King. But the Machop is also able to capitalise on a good set up with a powerful Earthquake rocking the whole big bowl and especially the grounded Ghastly. Nevertheless Shadow finishes off with another move that takes advantage of Toxic with a Venoshock that hits very hard indeed. King decides to take a break from the attacking to play a little more set up by ensuring that he can hit Shadow with any move he likes thanks to Foresight. Has anyone told him that the Ghastly is still going to resist his Fighting attacks?

With the set up complete King thinks it is time to move in for the kill. Unfortunately for him Shadow has another plan in mind and grabs another Unown out of the broth to Magnet Rise himself back off the ground and cancel out the effect of those charged rocks. King is none the wiser to such a thing and just blasts away with a Dynamicpunch that hits Shadow rather hard despite resistance, and of course the moves comes with added confusion to boot. The Machop thinks he is ready to take full advantage but he is somehow completely unaware of the Ghastly's re-levitation and his Earthquake misses horribly. Meanwhile Shadow has prepared a massive Super Venoshock for King's trouble and boy does the move hit nice and hard. King spends the end of the round Earthquaking to no avail while Shadow cools down from the combo and things compound from bad to worse for King as his Toxic poisoning gets worse and worse.

Shouldn't King's poison damage go up one every turn? So he should be at 10 HP, not 13.

Venoshock~Chill~Chill (Although the chills will most likely be useless)

IF Venoshock misses OR Shadow hits himself in confusion A1, use Venoshock A2 and push back.

"Spade... So sorry about that. You fought your hardest, but it was my mistake that cost us you. Now it's time to get him back."

Unown D: Detect ~ Foresight ~ DynamicPunch + DynamicPunch Combination
IF Shadow Hits itself in confusion, cry openly and punch the ground in frustration.

Shadow looks to land a final blow on the weakened Machop, even managing to overcome his confusion to do so. Unfortunately the soup is an ever resourseful ally and King has dipped into it to Detect the upcoming attack and survive unscathed. Shadow's overconfidence now comes back to haunt him as he chills for the rest of the round rather than finishing off the weakened fighter. This allows King to prepare and deliver a devastating DynamicPunch that does as much damage as he can muster while simultaneously leaving him a sitting duck for next round. At least the confusion was as bad as it could be.

Well Shadow has gotten himself the first KO of the match, albeit not exactly the way he wanted to. His confusion finally got the better of him and he whacked himself in the face while watching a very tired Machop fall to his Toxic poisoning.
