You hear the obnoxious sound of your dog ferociously barking at the door, signaling that the mailman is here, yet again. You considered ignoring it, but decided to go see what came in the mail today. When you flipped open the mailbox, you saw a letter, stamped with a certain seal. Having never seen something like it, you check the address on it, and realize that it might finally be time. Yep, it is, your gym challenge has been accepted. So, you immediately rush to your room, prepare your pokemon, and set off on your travels to the arena.

Present Day
You arrive at the building, take a moment to check the address, then you go in. When you enter, you see a sign that reads "Continue this way." and has an arrow leading you through a doorway. You do this 3 times, and suddenly you find yourself moving up through a pile of gold, coins, and cash. You think to yourself, this definitely cannot be it. You look behid you for the way out, only to find there is no escape, and so you continue to pace as you moving up. When you emerge from the pile, you spot a gentlemen sitting behind a desk, working hard on...well whatever it is, since you can't tell from here. You take your first step, making a lot of noise as the gold and coins rustle, alerting the worker to your presence. The worker looks up, points in the direction of a hallway, then goes back to work. You carry on, about 0.1 miles forward, and you think you have finally arrived. Now there is another gentlemen, meditating by the spring. Without provocation, he speaks as if he already knew you were here,

"Why, hello there! You must be my opponent for today!"

You struggle to understand how he already knows that you are there, but respond with a simple "Yes" before returning to you silence. The Gym Leader rises up, dusts himself off, and says, "Let me show you around a bit. First, in case this hasn't sunk in yet, we are no less than 150ft beneath the surface. We dwell here because the real world isn't ready to deal with the Fairies yet. There are, a couple alterations though. For example, even though we are very far beneath ground, we do have pretty good lighting here, because we believe that sight is important, and keeps your battling refined. We have 4 naturally occuring springs down here, since creating water tunnels has never been so easy. The grass that you, while artificial, is fundamentally the same as standard grass in the world above, just needed to be reformulaicly developed to respond to the substancde difference in the lighting. Take a look about the certain of the arena.

You lool, and see a massive floating stone, glowing with a light pink aura.

The gym leader continues on, sayng, "It took us a while to understand exactly what that it seemed to get more prevalent as we trained down here more and more. Overall, we figured out that is harness the more float-based and low weight characteristics of the fairies, and transmutes the effect around the arena. We only turn it on when we are battling though, as training in it provides very minimal benefit to us. This increased lightness offsets everyone a little bit in combat, and as a result, makes all attacks hit more often. Moreover, since it is charged wih the aura of Fairy-typed Pokemon, they receive an added bonus while in the presence of the stone, in the form of less exhaustion."

You stare very blankly, trying to take it all in, then recompose yourself, this time with a look of determination, saying, "So shall we get started then?"

The leader smiles, then claps twice. You feel everything begin to change, and a you see a pixie floating above the arena, who says, "Alright, seeing as everyone here knows what the conditions of this battle are, combatants, take your sides, and let's get ready for one hell of a battle!" The pixie turns the stands, which have now filled up, saying, "Welcome to The Pixisphere, hope you enjoy the show!"

Effects
- All Pokemon have their actual weight halved
- All attacks gain 10% Accuracy
- Fairy STAB's reduction of the consecutive EN penalty is extended to all moves used by Fairy-typed Pokemon. The actual reduction is unaffected.

Codifications
- Camouflage makes the user a Fairy-type
- Nature Power calls the move Earth Power
- Secret Power has a chance to reduce the SpA of the target by 1 stage.
- All resources are available, all weathers are allowed
- Arena is well lit, but inside. So Synthesis/Morning Sun/Moonlight/etc. heal for their middle amount

For years, the battle between nature and technology has violently raged. There are those who embrace the world of steel and machinery, and those who fear its destructive powers. The naysayers may be right. In the blink of an eye, lush forests and vibrant ecosystems have been leveled, corrupted, and exterminated by the inexorable march of mechanical progress.

Smashlloyd20, Steel-type expert and presumed Steel Gym leader, is evidently one of the former. His powerful metalloid Pokemon demonstrate the immense power of these new technologies, stacking up on their type advantage against Jay's fairies. Especially fearsome is his Mega Metagross, whose strong, mixed offenses will not allow any of Jay's Pokemon to leave unscathed. Beware, too, the trickster Kitsunoh and the adorable Excadrill. Not only do they have strong Steel attacks, but their secondary STABs hit hard against many of the steel-counters that Jay might try to use.

On the other hand, is jayelt413, the Fairy leader and nature's last stand. The spirits of the Earth have emerged to defend against the final onslaught on their homes. Mighty are these wondrous creatures in this immaculate hall of light. Fire and Ground coverage will be especially important to Jay, so Granbull, Mawile, and Togekiss are invaluable members of his team. One should not count out Mr. Mime, either, whose bulk and movepool will make for a difficult challenge for Smash.

This is the Fairy Gym's very first challenge, and although they are fighting in the Fairies' home turf, this will not be easy for the leader. Let's see, once and for all, whether the spirits of nature or the metal constructs of man will reign supreme.

It seems that the leader and the challenger are both bringing out their aces right off the bat! Jay's Mega Mawile and Smash's Mega Metagross are both offensive behemoths with great bulk and nifty abilities. On paper, it'd seem as though Metagross has the advantage, with its higher defense and HP, but one must never underestimate an opponent, especially one with a movepool as wide as Mawile's.

Metagross, unphazed by Mawile's attempts at Intimidation, goes straight for the powerful, super-effective Earthquake. Mawile weathers the strike and responds by bolstering its defenses with Iron Defense, but certainly does not escape unscathed. Metagross goes for another Earthquake, but this time, Mawile uses Pain Split, instantly nullifying Smashlloyd's damage lead. For the final action, Metagross and Mawile exchange super-effective Earthquakes and Crunches, but Mawile's Iron Defense allows it to just barely win this damage race. Still, the fairy's tricks does not come without a price, as Pain Split has taken out a large chunk of Mawile's EN, though Metagross's Earthquake spam has also been fairly draining. The tide of this battle could turn at any moment. The fairies are resouceful; they can make the best of tight situations through tricks and status move, and they've even incorporated the typing of their steel enemies into one of their own. As they say, "Life finds a way." Let's see if these spirits of nature can find a way to stop Smashlloyd's mechanical onslaught, as he gets second order/counterswitching advantage for the next round.

Alright, I knew something felt off about that math. R7 Atk is a +10 Boost to Physical attacks, not +11, and as a result all 3 Earthquakes are incorrect, Crunch is incorrect, and the Pain Split needs to be recalculated as well.

But it failed.
Metagross fainted.

This rounds results were quite... explosive, to say the least.
Or were they?

Smash finds himself in a bind, as Mawile's defense boosts keep Smash from dealing enough damage to win the damage race. But what is this? Smash presses a button on his Metagross and a faint metallic voice can be heard saying, "Detonation in T minus 60." How ominous.

The round begins with simple damage spam. Metagross raises its metallic hands and buries Mawile in a flurry of Meteor Mash strikes, but in its haste, Metagross allows Mawile to use Foul Play and trick him into hitting himself as well!

"Detonation in T minus 30."

The furious Metagross strikes the ground in anger releasing a might Earthquake, but Mawile holds its ground and counters with a big Crunch, allowing it to get the leg-up on the damage race.

"Detonation in T minus 15."

Though Metagross is usually very agile, it suddenly starts moving very slowly. Steam can be seen erupting from between the steel plates of its body. Mawile pays no heed to these oddities, using Foul Play to damage Metagross even further.

"Detonation: NOW"

Metagross turns red from heat, and a blinding light emerges from its body, and then...

KLUNK! Metagross falls to the ground, its battery completely drained. Looks like it was too tired to perform the Explosion combo that Smashloyd wanted. Smashlloyd finds himself very much in a bind right now. His own Mega has fallen, while Jay's Mega Mawile is still alive. Add that to the fact that he orders first next round, and Smashlloyd's prospects look rather bleak. But don't count him out just yet! Smash is the Steel-type master, and clever use of Kitsunoh and Excadrill can turn the tide of the battle quickly. He made a mistake, but he can only keep improving. After all, technology's greatest power is its ability to rapidly improve and develop itself. The battle is far from over.
