Postgame Final Fantasy III Mafia Postgame

Acklow

I am always tired. Don't bother me.

Welcome to the Final Fantasy Mafia Postgame!

The Spreadsheet
The Role Sheet
The Game

This game certainly saw a lot of new features that haven’t ever been seen in any Smogon Mafias before. The most prominent feature was the use of Hit Points. In addition, a replacement for lynch votes by utilizing “Attack Power” was also a prominent feature in the game. This game certainly was complex to design, and very difficult too. It all began with an idea I had formulated one night. I was looking through the “New Experimental Concepts for Mafia Games” thread when I came across a few posts debating/talking about the use of hit points in mafia. I began to think, what IF there was a game like such. I began first with an idea that perhaps a game based around Pokemon would be interesting. Utilizing four ability “movesets” in this game, along with HP would be a major way the game would be played. All the Users would be neutral Pokemon, except for a select few who would act as “Trainers”. These trainers would then have 2 of their own “Pokemon” (and only being able to send out one at a time), whose goals would be to catch the most Pokemon (i.e. recruiting). However, I saw that this game would be highly disapproved, because most people were sick of the whole Poke-Mafia theme. I decided to look at other games that would allow the use of hit points to work. Instantly, my brain thought of a game I had borrowed from a friend for about a year (yeah, I really didn’t get around giving it back to him until before I left for college): Final Fantasy III for the Nintendo DS. I instantly thought about how I could utilize the use of Jobs to create Roles. As soon as I looked up how many jobs there were, I knew I was in luck. Right away, I started scratching away on a notebook, creating concepts for each role. Soon, I contacted Johann (who Spiffy said, displayed interest in creating a Mafia with HP). Thereafter, we worked on getting balance and addressing various issues. I wanted originally to have this game made up of entirely neutrals, with 4 Warriors of Light, until Johann pointed out that this game would be too chaotic and people wouldn’t know who to work with (and lynches would certainly be much more difficult to work with). Thus, Johann divided the roles into 4 factions, 1 partnership, and 2 neutrals. I told him that I wanted a “secret” faction (albeit it wasn’t too secret, but it was secret enough nevertheless). So we created the full-mole Warrior of Light faction. Each Warrior of Light would be equipped with a “true” role that would always remain true whenever inspected. And thus, after many days of toiling on the game, we finally smoothed out the crinkles in the paper and posted our sign-ups!

Anyways, I will be addressing this Mafia as if it were a Rate My Team thread because the alliances made between factions were quickly associated with Pokemon respective to their “Element”.

Fire/Wind Elemental Warriors [Moltres] @ Choice Scarf? Nah, they got other crap they carried around this game.
Pressure (They grabbed firm of the game early on, and maintained it for a while)
EV’s: Uh, I’m a noob. I’m not going to show you my secret EVs! =P
Moves [i.e. Fire Crystal Warriors]:
-Altair the Ranger
-Crux the Scholar
-Flamestrike the White Mage
-RaRe555 the Evoker

Alternative Moves [i.e. Wind Crystal Warriors]:
-theangryscientist the Black Mage
-Midou the Viking
-BunnyMaster the Summoner
-Nook/Quagsires the Scholar

Quick Overview:
To lead my team off, I begin with Moltres. No, it’s not Ho-oh. I don’t play Ubers, and I don’t plan on doing so anytime soon for now. Plus, I always liked Moltres better. Moltres is a great lead with a Scarf, and the Fire/Wind Elemental Warriors showed they are very similar to Moltres in that they took control of the game very early on, under the Midou/Altair joint leadership.

Moveset Overview:
When Johann gave me the list of people who were reserved, we decided to put each reserved member into different teams on the basis of what they preferred. Altair really didn’t prefer a team, but GoldenKnight did (he wanted to be allied with either Altair or askaninjask, or both). So Altair got the Ranger position. Anyways, the other roles were randomized for those in the Fire Crystal Warriors faction. Flamestrike was by far one of the more active healer roles in the game. For the Wind Crystal Warriors, I made sure that there was an “experienced” player amongst them. Nook became Scholar because I was sure he could help Midou lead. The Fire Crystal Warriors made an early pact early on with the Wind Crystal Warriors. Because of this, they instantly united under one banner and became the more organized group of factions. However, hax and other misfortunes instantly hurt this faction, as it was much more reliant on HP. Their belief that Nook/Quagsires was WoL was the last nail in the coffin for all of the Crystal Warriors.

Moves in depth:

THE FIRE CRYSTAL WARRIORS

Acklow said:
Dear Altair,
You are the Ranger.

Rangers are experts in ranged combat. With their bows, they can attack for full damage from even the back line! Their Barrage ability allows them to unleash a hail of projectiles at the enemy!

You have 13 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Since you have expertise with the bow, you are capable of firing multiple arrows at once at multiple enemies. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Barrage attack”. You will send fire your arrows simultaneously at three random enemies, dealing 1 damage to each. Because you have a knowledge of what is light, you may at times see what others do not.

You are holding an Onion Shield. An inscription is written on the back: “To whomever that holds this sacred relic, will find sacred blessings if it is given to the one that claims to be an Onion Knight.” This puzzling message doesn’t help you too much. This is a Weapon item.

You know the identity of the Thief. The Thief is goldenknight.

Also, at the end of each post you make you must say “by the way Johann is the best.” Failure to do so will result in being godkilled.

You are allied with the Fire Crystal Warriors. You win if the Fire Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Earth Crystal Warriors.
Altair was a solid player in the game, making sure that the pact between the Fire Crystal Warriors and the Wind Crystal Warriors was solid. The only downside to much of his role was the targets were based on results from an RNG. And this RNG haxed against him quite a few times. The role itself tried to fit the flavor ingame. The Onion Shield was an item that never ended up being used for its true use. Here is the flavor for what it would’ve ended up being, had it ended up in Lightwolf’s hands:
You are holding the Onion Shield. This item will prevent 1 damage whenever you are attacked. This is a Weapon Item.

Acklow said:
Dear Crux,
You are the Scholar.

Scholars can examine enemies and spot their weak points. They can also enhance the effects of the items they use. They can dispel magic effects from enemies they’ve studied. Surprisingly enough, these bookworms can also use magic!

You have 12 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Despite the fact that you are a useless role in FF3, you do have much lying on your shoulders now. This is because of your powerful abilities of investigation. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Study USER”. In doing so, you receive the full role PM of your target.

You are holding a Golem Staff. This slender tool has magic infused into it which allows you to negate and render any item held by USER useless. However, this item can only be used once. This is a Support item.

You know the identity of the Ranger. The Ranger is Altair.

You are allied with the Fire Crystal Warriors. You win if the Fire Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Earth Crystal Warriors.
Ahhh, the role who was trolled. This role had, by far, the most trolled results in the game. His results ranged from having his target’s role PM covered by playing cards to pornography pictures. Here is an example of a PM sent to him:

Acklow said:
Flamestrike told me what action he would've liked you to take. Anyways, you targeted capefeather.

Sadly, you were too busy playing Texas Hold 'Em with a bunch of your buddies while studying. You were also enjoying a bit of alcohol. Therefore, your night action is a bit messed up.

Acklow said:
Dear capefeather,
You are the Magus.

<ACE OF DIAMONDS> magic spell, they may be able to destroy all...

You have 2 HP. Your drunken state is 0.

As a <KING OF HEARTS> of the forbidden magic.
You now have the knowledge of that, and you wish to use it to help your allies.
Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Meteor USER”. You will cause a large meteor to fall on your target,
obliterating their very essence.
This spppeeeellll heeeallllsss for 8 damage to your target.
However, you lose 7 HP when <ACE OF SPADES>.

“Night x- HELL YEAH”.
You will utter a spell of vast power that causes <A CARD THAT WAS SPILLED ON> target another random player
instead of their original target. However, you gain 1 HP when
destroying everyone.
Apparently, this chiiiillllll also them you blind what others cannot.

You may <SOME PAPER> able to cast it.

You know the identity of the Height.
The Kind Nasty Innocent Grunt HAS Temptation is zorbees.

You are fat.
You win if the Water Crystal Warriors win and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
However, his team overcame the trolling and made use of their guesses to quickly determine the target’s role.

Acklow said:
Dear Flamestrike,
You are the White Mage.

White mages are casters who specialize in restorative magic. They’re not physically strong, but their willpower is incomparable!

You have 13 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 0.

As a clerical member of your faction, you must work to help your teammates at the opportune moment. And because of your status, you have some spells you know which certainly can help. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Protect USER”. Your target will be protected by the heavenly bodies above, nullifying 5 damage that could be dealt to him or her. This can be stacked, as it protects the USER every time any damage is dealt. However, you lose 2 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Curaga USER”. You will call upon a blessing for USER, healing them by 5 HP. However, you lose 3 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You are holding Excalibur. This sword has many legends following it. Its purity in the very steel in the blade holds great power. This means that the holder of this item will have their Attack Power boosted by 1. This is a Weapon item.

You know the identity of the Evoker. The Evoker is RaRe555.

You are allied with the Fire Crystal Warriors. You win if the Fire Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Earth Crystal Warriors.
This role was by far, the saving grace of the Fire Crystal Warriors. Had there been a role of equal power in the Earth Crystal Warriors or in the Water Crystal Warriors, I’m sure the game would’ve been far more imbalanced. However, this role was very needed, and it provided a much needed longevity to the Fire Crystal Warriors. Flamestrike could almost guarantee protection from 5 damage a night had heal himself to full HP in addition to it. Plus, the fact that the 5 damage prevention could stack instantly made him an major player in the outcome of the Fire Crystal Warriors. Sadly, the use of HP to cast spells instantly decreased his own utility lategame, making him dead weight both day and night. Well played Flamestrike, well played.

Acklow said:
Dear RaRe555,
You are the Evoker.

Evokers are initiates of summoning magic, able to randomly draw either the light or the dark power of summoned beasts.

You have 12 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

As an Evoker, you have quite a few summons up your sleeve. These may be weak at times, but nevertheless they remain useful. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Escape USER”. You will summon the beloved Chococobo, which will instantly kidnap you and another USER for 2 cycles. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Hyper USER”. You will summon the mighty Titan. This behemoth will cause all the earth around your target to swell, dealing 2 damage to them. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the White Mage. The White Mage is Flamestrike.

You are allied with the Fire Crystal Warriors. You win if the Fire Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Earth Crystal Warriors.
The only Kidnapper role in the game, other than UncleSam’s pseudo-nap. His role was extremely inhibited because of himself being kidnapped along with his target for 2 cycles. Maybe giving him the ability to use Hyper during his own kidnapping could’ve fixed a little of Fire Crystal’s difficulties.

THE WIND CRYSTAL WARRIORS

Acklow said:
Dear theangryscientist,
You are the Black Mage.

Black Mages are casters who specialize in offensive magic. Despite their appearance, they can take a few hits too.

You have 11 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Your abilities in offensive magic are not entirely vast, however, you do have quite a few spells up your sleeve. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Poison USER”. You will cause USER to have the status effect known as Poison. This means that they lose 1 HP every cycle. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Sleep USER”. You will cause USER to have the status effect known as Sleep. This causes them to fall asleep, making them unable to complete a single night action. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Summoner. The Summoner is BunnyMaster.

You are allied with the Wind Crystal Warriors. You win if the Wind Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Water Crystal Warriors.
theangryscientist was given a role that could provide for a late game sweep. By poisoning players, he automatically decreased their longevity. However, he was hit by enough damage to only keep him at around 3 or so HP, preventing him from spreading even more status. His hook also provided a bit more stall to the Wind Crystal Warrior’s strategy.

Acklow said:
Dear Midou,
You are the Viking.

Vikings have the ability to lure enemies into attacking them instead of other members of the party, but it’s gonna hurt!

You have 15 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 3.

You are a powerful asset to the Wind Crystal Warriors because of your redirecting skills. At Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Provoke USER”. This will cause any actions made by USER to target you instead. Because you have a knowledge of what is light, you may at times see what others do not.

You are holding two Potions. If used, you can heal two target USERs by 3 HP each. However, this item can be only used once. This is a Support item.

You know the identity the Scholar. The Scholar is Nook.

You are allied with the Wind Crystal Warriors. You win if the Wind Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Water Crystal Warriors.
Midou was a major team player early game. He quickly stepped up, utilizing his heavy role for leading the Fire/Wind Crystal Coalition. However, his role’s ability was weakened because of it’s lower priority, preventing him from redirecting his targets to himself. He also provided some decent feedback to his team, even after being killed. He was also one of the first people to bring up the “2+2+1 Theory”. Sadly, his math hurt his team because of how quickly he trusted HD.

Acklow said:
Dear Nook,
You are the Scholar.

You know the identity of the Viking. The Viking is Midou.

You are allied with the Wind Crystal Warriors. You win if the Wind Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Water Crystal Warriors.
Man, Nook, I know you were active early game, and that was great. However, because of the stupid “2+2+1 Theory”, you became an instant “ignore him” target. He was given the Potions early on, and never ended up using them at all. Once Quagsires took over, he became actively involved, but inherited the distrust that was set upon Nook. This role was also another one of those Scholar Troll roles, getting himself automatically redirected to a different target from his original. This role was also meant to hold an item called the “Ottershroom”, which was meant to kidnap a target for one cycle (sorry for not including that man).

Acklow said:
Dear Bunnymaster,
You are the Summoner.

Summoners are able to draw the hidden powers of summoned beasts. Their powers will be further enhanced if they can find the legendary beasts...

You have 10 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 0.

As a summoner, you are able to cast summons for very powerful creatures. In order to do this, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Bahamur USER”. This will summon the Legendary Dragon, Bahamut. It will breath a magnificent flame upon your target, dealing 5 damage to them. However, you lose 2 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Catastro USER”. This will summon the Legendary Warrior, Odin. He will trample upon your target at a blurring speed, instantly killing them. However, you lose 8 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Black Mage. The Black Mage is theangryscientist.

You are allied with the Wind Crystal Warriors. You win if the Wind Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Water Crystal Warriors.
One of the strongest roles in the game. He had access to an instant kill that had the highest priority in the game. However, its extreme cost, along with the fact that he lost HP midgame,
meant that he had to make good use of the kill. He had to resort to his attack spell, due to RBG damaging him early on. If team Moltres would’ve worked to keep him alive, they could’ve had an automatic kill every other day.

Summary: The Fire and Wind Crystal Warriors quickly began working together and gathered alot of information early game. However, their bane was their trust in the “2+2+1” theory. Otherwise, they would’ve quickly outed out HD and Sledge as WoL.

Water/Earth Elemental Warriors [Quagsire] @ Leftovers. These guys are certainly a bunch of leftovers.
Water Absorb
EV’s: Unknown at this point in time.
Moves [i.e. Earth Crystal Warriors]:
-~NJ the Geomancer
-Nanoswine the Monk
-vonFiedler the Bard
-Game Freak201 the Dark Knight

Alternative Moves [i.e. Water Crystal Warriors]:
-Blue_Tornado/-TheLucarioEffect- the Devout
-BLUEBERRYBITCH the Red Mage
-zorbees/undisputed the Knight
-capefeather the Magus

Quick Overview:
So I need a Pokemon who can help Moltres out, and Quagsires is the perfect fit, because he absorbs water, electric, and rock type attacks that are meant for Moltres. Anyways, Earth and Water Crystal warriors relied much more on their physical prowess, making use of their boosting abilities to take down their enemies.

Moveset Overview:
The people listed here were mostly randomized into each faction. I took some time making sure that each team would get one or two experienced players. However, as the game progressed, it seemed that the Earth and Water Crystal Warriors were not doing well. But nobody saw that the Earth Crystal Warriors were in much better shape mid-game than the Fire and Wind Crystal Warriors. The Water and Earth Crystal warriors, even though they lacked a solid recovery rate like the Fire and Wind Crystal Warriors were able to abuse their bulk to prevent too much damage from racking up. Losing their Devout was also a major game changing event, because without it, they couldn’t bring their hard-hitting Dark Knight back from the grave.

Moves in depth:

THE EARTH CRYSTAL WARRIORS

Acklow said:
Dear ~NJ,
You are the Geomancer.

Geomancers harness the power of nature itself, manifested in their different terrain attacks. Their damage potential rises exponentially by job level.

You have 12 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Having an influence on the very nature of the earth you live on gives you a very high potential. You are capable of boosting the powers of yourself and anyone around you at will! This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Terrain USER”. This will boost your targets Attack Power by 1. In addition, it will also prevent the next 1 damage dealt them (this part of the ability can be stacked, as it protects the USER every time any damage is dealt). However the boost only lasts one cycle.

You are holding a Dream Harp. An inscription is noted along the border of this mysterious instrument: “In the hands of the one who sings, his power shall be increased.” This puzzling message doesn’t help you too much. This is a Weapon item.

You know the identity of Dark Knight. The Dark Knight is Game Freak201.

You are allied with the Earth Crystal Warriors. You win if the Earth Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Wind Crystal Warriors.
Although this role was not considered too vital, the fact that he could stack up Game Freak’s attack power (Game Freak was able to reach 8 Attack Power with his help), plus the fact that he was able to prevent a lot of damage that the Earth Crystal Warriors took late game meant that he did very well late game. He was a large factor in keeping the likes of vonFiedler and RBG (haha) alive. He also made sure to give the Dream Harp to vonFiedler fairly early on, which became a good move.If I were to redo this game, I would be sure to buff his role a tad. His inability to PM me late game, especially when the chances of the WoL losing essentially killed the rest of the factions along with his own. Let that be a lesson to you people: I won’t be THAT lenient.

Acklow said:
Dear Nanoswine,
You are the Monk.

Monks are very resilient melee fighters. Their Retaliate ability allows them to counterattack while on the defensive.

You have 13 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 2.

Being a melee strategist, you are capable of figuring out your foe’s strategies with relative ease. However, you usually can only do this once your foe has actually attacked you. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Retaliate”. You will get into a defensive posture. In doing so, anybody that hurts you during the night will leave their full role PM.

You know the identity of the Sage. The Sage is RBG.

You are allied with the Earth Crystal Warriors. You win if the Earth Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Wind Crystal Warriors.
This role was meant to take lots of damage early game. I was hoping that whoever would get this role would use it to their advantage to troll the thread and IRC. Basically he wanted to become a target of all magic users, and even the Nepto, thus allowing him to get a crapload of role PMs. Sadly, he was kidnapped before he could get anything. He certainly could’ve done much more had his luck/tactics been not too good. This role will certainly be buffed if I ever use it again in later games.

Acklow said:
Dear vonFiedler,
You are the Bard.

Bards use their songs to enhance their party’s performance. The effect of their songs varies depending on the harp they use.

You have 11 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Since you have natural music talent, it’s not unusual to find that many people enjoy your songs. They even benefit from hearing your music! This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Sing USER”. You will sing a song of victory over your target. This will boost their mentality, and as a benefit, their priority too. They will be so fast, that nothing will be able to prevent them from completing their night action. This lasts one Night, however.

You are holding two Shining Curtains. If used on any USER, you will cast the spell, Reflect, shrouding them by a veil which protects them from any magic. However, this item can be only used twice, and it must be a different holder if used the second time. This is a Support item.

You know the identity of the Monk. The Monk is Nanoswine.

You are allied with the Earth Crystal Warriors. You win if the Earth Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Wind Crystal Warriors.
von and RBG competed for the leadership position of the Earth Crystal Warriors, though ultimately, RBG became the deciding factor of where the team went early game. Later on, however, vonFiedler quickly took control of the Earth Crystal Warriors, teaming up with the likes of ~NJ to boost his own stats. However, as soon as Crux destroyed the Dream Harp with the Golem Staff, the Earth Crystal Warriors lost a vital ability. vonFiedler played relatively well late game, with the exception of his attacking theangryscientist.

Acklow said:
Dear Game Freak 201,
You are the Dark Knight.

Dark Knights are warriors of the dark blade. Their Souleater ability allows them to convert their life into extra damage.

You have 14 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 3.

Being in the order of the Dark Knights means that you have powers that only the very risky would even choose to use. Your own abilities threaten your life, yet you use them in order to attain your goals. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Souleater”. You will use your own lifeforce, losing 5 HP, in order to become stronger. Your strength in turn doubles your Attack Power for the duration of an entire cycle.

You are holding three Turtle Shells. If used on any USER, you will cast the spell, Protect, which prevents the next 5 damage dealt to USER. This can be stacked, as it protects the USER every time any damage is dealt. However, this item can be only used three times. This is a Support item.

You know the identity of the Geomancer. The Geomancer is ~NJ.

You are allied with the Earth Crystal Warriors. You win if the Earth Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Wind Crystal Warriors.
The Earth Crystal Warriors lacked a lot of recovery and so Game Freak201 was very limited in using his ability. However, when he used them in conjunction with ~NJ’s Terrain ability, he became a powerhouse, dealing 8 damage whenever he voted. Once again, the lack of recovery meant Game Freak was very limited. Early game, he was a force to be reckoned with. Of course, the lack of unity within team Quagsire meant that he would be taken out relatively early game.

THE WATER CRYSTAL WARRIORS

Acklow said:
Dear Blue_Tornado,
You are the Devout.

Devouts are casters who have mastered white magic. They can use all white magic spells, so make sure to always have one in your party!

You have 10 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 0.

You have very powerful clerical abilities. Everyone who is not allied with you quakes in one way or another in fear. And you know this because you have the powerful spell that raises the dead! This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Arise USER”. You will pray to the heavenly bodies above to restore the life in your target. These spirits will then answer by fully reviving USER. However, you lose 9 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Reflect USER”. Your target will be shrouded by a veil which protects USER from any magic. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Red Mage. The Red Mage is BLUEBERRY BITCH.

You are allied with the Water Crystal Warriors. You win if the Water Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
=( Blue_Tornado idled alot early game, and his successor didn’t do too much either. Sadly, the limited amount of restorative magic team Quagsire had meant that he would die pretty quickly. Then, team Moltres got a hold of his Role PM, and instantly thought he was WoL material, thus, making his death.

Acklow said:
Dear BLUEBERRY BITCH,
You are the Red Mage.

Red mages can use both white and black magic, but cannot use high-level spells from either schools.

You have 13 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 2.

As a jack-of-all-trades, you can do quite a few things. Red mages are quite versatile, being able to cast spells and deal physical damage. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Blizzara USER”. You will send a powerful gust of flurries towards USER, cutting through their skin and dealing 2 damage to them. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Mini USER”. You will cast a shrinking spell upon USER. This in turn will make them very harmless, and it decreases their Attack Power by 1. This spell lasts an entire cycle. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Devout. The Devout is Blue_Tornado.

You are allied with the Water Crystal Warriors. You win if the Water Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
A relatively weaker role. This role instantly became a revenge killer, scooping up kills during the night with Blizzara, and BLUEBERRY was able to find his target’s with relative ease. He never ended up using Mini, of course (which could’ve diminished roles like HD’s or other big attackers: Nepto or askaninjask anyone?).

Acklow said:
Dear zorbees,
You are the Knight.

Knights take pride in their high defense. Their Defend ability allows them to step in and take damage for weakened allies. They can use white magic, too!

You have 15 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 2.

Becoming a knight means alot for any young squire, and it brings in the factor known as chivalry. Your order is to defend others at all costs, even if it means that you die for them. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Defend USER”. You will protect your target from any potential damage that they might take. However, since you are only capable of doing this physically, you can only protect them from a maximum of 2 damage. This can be stacked, as it protects the USER every time any damage is dealt.

As a knight, you have also been educated in the very broad basics of the clerical arts. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Cure USER”. You will call upon a blessing for USER, healing them by 2 HP. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

Be aware that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Magus. The Magus is capefeather.

You are allied with the Water Crystal Warriors. You win if the Water Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
The wall of the Water Crystal Warriors. This role was meant to take hits and to increase the longetivity of the Water Crystal Warriors. His protection didn’t cost anything, and was probably the best of all protections, even though it wasn’t as strong as Flamestrike’s. Of course, he did not have any good luck because he was both poisoned and targeted by Lilith’s Kiss, thus decreasing his longevity two-fold.

Acklow said:
Dear capefeather,
You are the Magus.

Magi are casters who have mastered black magic. If they can learn the forbidden black magic spell, they may be able to destroy all...

You have 12 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 0.

As a Magus, you wanted to be able to learn the secrets of the forbidden magic. You now have the knowledge of that, and you wish to use it to help your allies. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Meteor USER”. You will cause a large meteor to fall on your target, obliterating their very essence. This attack deals 8 damage to your target. However, you lose 7 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Blindaga USER”. You will utter a spell of vast power that causes USER to go blind. This in turn makes USER target another random player instead of their original target. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell. Apparently, this spell also let’s you see what others cannot.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Knight. The Knight is zorbees.

You are allied with the Water Crystal Warriors. You win if the Water Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
This role was meant to hit hard. Of course of course, he was poisoned very early on by theangryscientist, so he decided not to use Meteor. I think if he would’ve, though, he would’ve hurt the opposing factions pretty badly. Blindaga was the crux of his gameplay, however, turning kidnaps on enemies into kidnaps on friends. zorbees/undisputed made sure to keep capefeather alive long enough for cape to use Blindaga a few times.

Summary: The Earth and Water Crystal Warrior’s lack of organization meant that they were unable to coordinate night actions too well. However, although they didn’t organize, they were able to stay pretty healthy through early and mid-game. I believe if they would’ve organized much better, they would’ve been a driving force in the death’s of the majority of their opposition.

The Fellowship of the Nepto [Shedinja] @ Focus Sash (these guys outlived a bunch of attacks)
Wonder Guard
EV’s: 100 HP (damn)/? Atk/252 Spe
Moves:
-Lightwolf the Freelancer/Onion Knight
-moi/StevenSnype the Ninja

Quick Overview:
This duo was meant to check the Warriors of Light and specifically both neutrals.

Moveset Overview:
When choosing players to get these two roles, we both knew we would need experienced players who would be involved in the destruction of the WoL, with equal experience in Mafia to the Warriors of Light. We chose Lightwolf for the Freelancer job, and moi for the Ninja role. Of course, Lightwolf was very active, taking advantage of the information he had to make a bond between the Elemental Warriors (mainly the Fire and Wind Crystal Warriors). moi, on the other hand, was active Day 1, but remained inactive until StevenSnype was subbed in. Of course, had I let StevenSnype use the 24 hours of his being subbed in to quickly coordinate the death of askaninjask (which I’m sure he did, slightly), he would’ve been a major factor in killing RBG and other WoL.

Moves in depth:

Acklow said:
Greetings! You are part of the Fellowship of the Nepto, which is a duo of warriors, who’s goal is to defeat the Warriors of Light. You do not have enough information about the Warriors of Light, which is why you fear them and hate them at the same time. You will do whatever it takes to defeat them, even if it means taking out any of the warriors who support the elemental crystals. To aid you in your quest for destruction, you have been given information from your god, the Nepto:

“Every three days, I will randomly surface. I will ravage the lands and attack all who oppose me, except the one who is known as the Freelancer. I will also not attack anyone that holds my eye. The holder of the my eye will be able to speak through me every time I surface. Therefore, I bid you to look out for it. I also wish my servants to know that if the one known as the Freelancer gains possession of my eye, will restore me. Thus, I will no longer attack any who oppose me. You do not want that to happen if you wish to defeat my enemies. If the one known as the Freelancer dies, then I will disappear and my eye will cease to exist. I want you, my servants to know of this valuable information.”

Lastly, you have been given a clue about the warriors of the elemental crystals:
There are three amongst them that have the capability to detect the possible whereabouts of the WoL. One is a sharpshooter, another is a warrior of the Norsk, and the last is a powerful magician.

Acklow said:
Dear moi,
You are the Ninja.

Ninja excel at using dark blades. They have the ability to throw weapons, which deal enormous amounts of damage.

You have 10 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

Being a very resourceful fighter, you are capable of using whatever object you get your hands on. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Throw <Item> at USER”. You will throw an item you are holding at USER, dealing damage equal to five times your Attack Power to them. This item will then fall to the ground next to your target, who will pick it up.

You are holding a Shuriken. This weapon is entirely bladed with four sharp edges. It is also called the “Ninja Star”. When thrown, it will boost the Attack Power of the holder by 2. However, this item can be only used once. This is a Weapon item.

You know the identity of the Freelancer. The Freelancer is Lightwolf.

You are allied with the Fellowship of the Nepto. You win if the Fellowship of the Nepto defeat the WoL and any that are not warriors of the elemental crystals.
moi, where did you go? I really wanted to see how you would act in this game. Because moi ended up idling by Day 2 and onwards, Lightwolf began trying to fill in as much as he could. StevenSnype PMed me (once I was in a dilemma of whether or not to allow Lightwolf to carry moi’s role on), and asked if he could sub in. So I let him in, however, it was almost too late, because askaninjask had his eyes on moi, and wanted to take him out. This role could’ve been played much better.

Acklow said:
Dear Lightwolf,
You are the Freelancer.

Freelancers can use low-level magic, but their base attributes are pretty low.

You have 8 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 1.

You are the suckiest class in the game. You practically have no purpose. You don’t even have a true ability. However, you make a good meatwall. Thus, at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Redirect from USER.” You will take all damage that USER would’ve taken for an entire cycle instead. If you die, you may gain some new abilities.

You know the identity of the Ninja. The Ninja is moi.

You are allied with the Fellowship of the Nepto. You win if the Fellowship of the Nepto defeat the WoL and any that are not warriors of the elemental crystals.
Once the Freelancer dies, he will gain this new role PM:

Acklow said:
Dear Lightwolf,
You are now the Onion Knight

The way to the Onion Knight is a long and hard one...but once you master the job, the rewards just might be worth it!

You have 15 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 3.

You are now the most powerful class in the game. You have your original abilities in addition to a new spell. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Esuna USER.” You will cast a cleansing spell, removing any status that has affected you target. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.
Lightwolf probably had one of the bulkiest roles in the game. He was able to survive a total of 31 damage, and live with 1 HP. He played the best out of the Fellowship, but of course, the WoL and askaninjask were not about to let him live for too long.

Summary: The Fellowship of the Nepto were a double-edged sword. moi’s inability to log on and send in an action ultimately led to the early end of the Fellowship. I believe that this duo could’ve played out much better if somebody who had moi’s role would’ve put more time into the game.

Neutral Number One [Stantler] @ Life Orb (his life is ticking on a timer now)
Intimidate (wasn’t he pretty intimidating up until he died?)
EV’s: 13 HP/100 Atk/100 Spe
Move (he was the only one of course):
-UncleSam the Dragoon

Quick Overview:
Well, when we were pairing up reserved players with roles, I asked UncleSam about what kind of role he wanted. He opted for a wolf role. I originally had in mind for him to take the BlackBelt role, however, Johann wanted askaninjask to have the better reward. Obviously Stantler for being able to Bounce and Intimidate at the same time, plus Gyarados isn’t allowed in UU.

Moveset Overview:
I want to personally apologize to UncleSam for giving him such a shitty role. This role deserved much better stats, at least 3 Attack Power, or even 4. The items he held, however made up for the shittiness...slightly. Once again, this role deserved a little more love, because he should’ve had the power to actually kill someone. Plus, the Dragoon role is so badass in the game, that it should’ve had that kind of badassness in this game too. However, UncleSam did not worry about that too much, gathering so much information, that his spreadsheet was filled up very quickly on N0.

Moves in depth:

Acklow said:
Dear UncleSam,
You are the Dragoon.

Dragoons are polearm experts. Their Jump ability allows them to deal massive damage while being impervious to enemy attacks.

You have 13 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 2.

Because you have such dexterity, you are capable of managing a powerful leap into the air. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Jump USER”. You will then disappear for the duration of one cycle. On the night that you return you will deal damage equal to double your Attack Power to USER.

Due to your capabilities, any inspection on you N0, will fail.

You are holding a Blood Lance. This vampirical weapon allows you to restore HP equal to 1/2 of the damage you deal to anybody. If the damage is 2 or less, you will only recieve 1 HP. This is a Weapon item.

You are also holding Crystal Mail. If used on any USER, it will prevent the next 5 physical damage to them OR it will prevent the next 2 magical damage (you choose which effect it is). However, you lose 2 HP if you prevent the damage physically OR you lose 1 HP if you prevent the damage magically. This is a Weapon item.

You know that there is another neutral in this game.

You are allied with yourself. You win if you manage to kill one players with your Jump ability, hurt another player with your Jump ability, and if you manage to defeat a member of the Fellowship of the Nepto.
This role deserved a buff. The Blood Lance was a strong item and could’ve been more effective, if the role would’ve had more Attack Power. If it would’ve landed into the hands of moi/StevenSnype, I’m sure that they would’ve easily been able to stay alive longer, also.

Neutral Number Two [Hitmonlee] @ Choice Band that doesn’t cause the Choice ability.
Limber
EV’s: 14 HP/ 2000000000000 Atk/0 Spe
Move (he was the only one of course):
-askaninjask the Black Belt

Quick Overview:
askaninjask was probably one of the luckiest people in the game, because he was kill bait from moi/StevenSnype, yet he survived long enough to win. Johann wanted askaninjask to get this as his role. Hitmonlee because he pretty much is the only Karate utilizing UU mon.

Moveset Overview:
askaninjask was alot less active early on, when UncleSam was dominating the information gathering. However, by the time moi/StevenSnype was dead, the dude was pretty much only on IRC for “just hangin’ around” purposes.

Moves in depth:

Acklow said:
Dear askaninjask,
You are the Black Belt.

http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:...m/gallery-04/art/ff3-ingus-black-belt.jpg&t=1

Black Belts are experts in unarmed combat. They can boost their attack power to deal massive damage, but be careful not to boost too much!

You have 14 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 3.

Being such an expert in the martial arts, you are capable of taking advantage of patience and power. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Boost”. In doing so, you will double your Attack Power. A total of 3 boosts may be accumulated before attacking. If more than 3 boosts are accumulated, you will hurt yourself by the amount of damage you have saved up.

Due to your capabilities, any inspection on you N0, will fail.

You are holding an Elixer. If used on any USER, you will heal them by a total of 9 HP. However, this item can only be used once. This is a Support item.

You are also holding the Nepto Eye. An inscription is written on it: “Every three days the Nepto Dragon will ravage the world. You will be given safety and will be given the ability to speak through the Nepto Dragon with a single post that is included with the day update. If you give this to the correct player, the Nepto Dragon will cease to attack.” What a mysterious relic! This item can be used only once per holder and is a Support item.

You know that there is another neutral in this game.

You are allied with yourself. You win if you are able to kill one player with a maximized boost and if the Fellowship of the Nepto lose.
The Nepto Eye was supposed to be a bonus flavor feature, hurting anyone (a single random person) who wasn’t the Freelancer or the holder of the Nepto Eye for 3 damage. I accidentally compressed that for the Day 2 update, resulting in 3 people being damaged for 3 damage. Of course, with the Fellowship dying off early, the Nepto Dragon attacks ceased and the event ended up happening only once. I didn’t want that to go public, for the fear of the WoL, Fellowship, and the flavor’s origin’s being exposed. Anyhow, askaninjask was the first person to win, so props man!

And now for the biggest winners of the game:

The Warriors of Light [Uxie] @ Leftovers x4
Levitate (because they *RBG* were able to withstand the massive earthquakes that occurred underneath them)
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/252 SpDef
Moves:
-HD/Exarius the Warrior
-GoldenKnight the Thief
-Sledge the Scholar
-RBG the Sage

Quick Overview:
Drum roll please!!!! The Warriors of Light are the victors of the game. Their luck and the disorganized factions they faced equate to the following name: Lucky Bastards.

Moveset Overview:
GoldenKnight requested, when I asked, to be paired up with Altair in some way. Thus I made sure to give GoldenKnight a position where he would be “friends” with Altair, and still be able to mole him. RBG was given the Sage role because we both felt that the Sage role needed to be taken with responsibility and that the person who would have the role would need to be experienced. The rest of the players were basically randomized onto the team.

Moves in depth:

Acklow said:
Greetings Warriors of Light! Do not be mistaken, you truly are the real deal! Your job in this game is to stay alive as long as possible, and manipulate each faction. Because this journey is going to be long and treacherous, you shall be given several extras to help you overcome the masses.

Thankfully, all your Role PMs are equipped with a faction and the win condition for that faction. Nevertheless, no matter how many times you are inspected, you will always show this Role PM. However, there are a few that can distinguish if your role PM is entirely true or not.

You also know that there is only one role that there are multiples of. This is the Scholar role, nobody else knows this but you.

These are the tools that are given to you for survival. Your true win condition states:

“You are allied with the Warriors of Light. You win if at least one Warrior of Light survives this game, you eliminate all threats, and if you are able to locate and defeat the holder of the Nepto Eye. All parts need to be fulfilled in order to win.”

These are your role PMs as follow:

Acklow said:
Dear HD,
You are a Warrior.

Warriors are weapon experts. Their Advance ability allows them to deal more damage than normal, but they also get hit a lot harder.

You have 14 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 3.

As a Warrior, you must have a mental attitude that let’s you contain momentum in battle, much like any athlete. Since you are capable of keeping such a positive mental attitude, you might at times influence the attitudes of others also. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Advance USER”. This will, in turn, boost USER’s Attack Power by 2. This boost lasts an entire cycle.

You know the identity of the Viking. The Viking is Midou.

You are allied with the Wind Crystal Warriors. You win if the Wind Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Water Crystal Warriors.
This role was really great, though it would’ve made sense if it were a day time role instead. Anyways, HD preformed very well mid and late game, mainly because of the whole 2+2+1 idea that Crux and Midou thought up of. He lasted long enough to be a threat that wiped out any opposition. Good job HD.

Acklow said:
Dear goldenknight,
You are a Thief.

Thieves are very fast and agile, and they can swing their weapons lightening-fast. They also have the ability to pick locked doors. Their Steal ability allows them to take items from enemies. Also, everyone will take less damage while escaping if they use Flee.

You have 10 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 2.

You are one of the most useful classes in FF3, and for good reason too. You can steal items from anybody. This means that at Night, you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled, “Night x- Steal USER”. You will steal up to 3 items held by USER, depending on the number of items they hold. However, you can only steal a maximum of two Weapon items if you are not holding any already. If you are holding a Weapon item, you will only manage to steal one.

You are holding a Lilith’s Kiss. Upon activation, this item steals 1 HP from a single USER every cycle for the remainder of the game. However, this item can be used only once. This is a Support item.

You know the identity of the Ranger. The Ranger is Altair.

You are allied with the Fire Crystal Warriors. You win if the Fire Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Earth Crystal Warriors.
Goldenknight, the only Thief in the game. He did well early game, quickly finding his first victim: askaninjask. Sadly, he didn’t stay around long enough due to the whole 2+2+1 scheme thing. I should’ve put an opposing Thief into the game to make item management much more interesting, but whatever...

Acklow said:
Dear Sledge,
You are a Scholar.

You know the identity of the Red Mage. The Red Mage is BLUEBERRY BITCH.

You are allied with the Water Crystal Warriors. You win if the Water Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Fire Crystal Warriors.
Oh my, there’s too many scholars running about!!! I know I should’ve done away with one or two scholars, but I really wasn’t thinking about that alot when I was making the game. Sledge was very vocal early on, making sure that he would “lead” the Water Crystal Warriors. Of course, it led him to victory in the end, because none of the Water Crystal Warriors even attempted to unite in order to eradicate Warriors of Light.

Acklow said:
Dear RBG,
You are a Sage.

Sages are those who have gained knowledge in all schools of arcane arts. They can use all types of spells!

You have 11 HP. Your standard Attack Power is 0.

Your magical abilities are numerous, and your knowledge in magic is very vast. You are no doubt one of the most powerful users of magic in the whole universe! Thus, at Night you may send Acklow and Johann a PM titled any of the following:

“Night x- Thundaga USER”. You will send a very powerful electrical current to hit USER, dealing 2 damage to them. However, you lose 1 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Leviath USER”. You will summon the Legendary Serpent, Leviathan, whose powerful waters will swamp USER, dealing 4 damage to them. However, you lose 3 HP when casting this spell.

“Night x- Curaja USER”. You will call upon a blessing for USER, healing them by 8 HP. However, you lose 6 HP when casting this spell.

You may not cast more than one of each spell a Night. Be aware though, that if you have less HP than the cost of the spell, you will be unable to cast it.

You know the identity of the Monk. The Monk is Nanoswine.

You are allied with the Earth Crystal Warriors. You win if the Earth Crystal Warriors eliminate the WoL and the Wind Crystal Warriors.
And the MVP of the Game award goes to....drum roll...oh wait, we’re talking about him right now: RBG!!!! Yes, this guy is probably the luckiest bastard in the world. The fact he straight up survived 3 lynches and lived to tell the tale just says something about the broken mechanics in this game. Not only that, but he was able to acquire the following recovery items:
Blood Lance
Elixer
Lilith’s Kiss
These items increased his the amount of time he could live, which meant alot to a User who used up alot of HP a night. He was also one of the most influential players on the field, and dealt almost as much damage as askaninjask (lol) before dying. Well played RBG, you deserved it.

Summary: The WoL could’ve easily lost if certain events would’ve played out differently. I can count a ton of instances where the tides could’ve turned. They won, and I give them props for their victory.

Now that we are done with the Role PMs. I want to discuss a few aspects of the game that I would’ve changed. Here is a list of key things that needed tweaking:
-HP
-Use of MP
-If no MP, I would’ve increased the number of 2 Damage (-1 HP) spells, and/or decreased the cost of current spells
-Increase Attack Power for certain roles (I’m looking at you Mr. Dragoon)
-Remove the HP mechanic (i.e. if more than 1 person is killed during a vote, yada yada)
-Remove at least one Scholar and replace him with a Thief role.
-Make the Monk a tad better.
-Make teams a tad more synergetic (there was a lack of synergy in some aspects of the game, and synergy is very important in a game like this).
-Make Win Conditions a bit easier to understand (synergy required for that also)
[COLOR=”White”]-Find a better Co-Host (just kidding)[/COLOR]
As you can see, there are a few things that would’ve made the game better, had those edits been made earlier. The unnecessary factor of 4 inspection roles meant the game was severely slowed down late-game. It would’ve been better off if we had a Thief or two in addition to the WoL Thief.

Now for the Threat List (awards):

MVP of the Game- RBG
Luckiest Player of the Game- RBG
Unluckiest Player of the Game- UncleSam
Best Player Early-Game- UncleSam
Best Player Mid-Game- RBG
Best Player Late-Game- theangryscientist/HD (you both get the award)
MVP of the Fire Crystal Warriors- Flamestrike/Altair (you both deserve it)
MVP of the Wind Crystal Warriors- Midou
MVP of the Earth Crystal Warriors- vonFiedler
MVP of the Water Crystal Warriors- BLUEBERRY BITCH (you both get the award)
Best Move- theangryscientist poisoning capefeather and zorbees.
Worst Move- Nook/Quagsires being shunned from the Wind Crystal Warriors
Best Item- Excalibur (I should’ve had more like it)
Worst Item- Crystal Mail
Biggest Disappointment- Realizing how stupid I was when I did the update with the Nepto Dragon Attack
Best Host- Obviously me. Not Johann. (just kidding, you were an awesome Co-Host, thanks for being such a pal, and putting up with me)
Worst Host- Obviously Johann. I mean, just look at the guy!! (Once again, just kidding, look at the “Best Host” entitlement for my reasons why you aren’t the worst host)

Yeah, that’s a long list.

I learned alot in this game, and the biggest thing I learned, is how to be a better host. I need to drop any bias I make pre-game/in-game about certain roles and teams, and I certainly need to take more time making sure each team has some goal in order to win. Otherwise, the game ends up becoming a major mish-mash.

And to end this all, here are a few logs:

Should have added another catch to that; moi/steven idling the night he needed to kill aska in order to survive -_-

First of all, congrats to WoL for winning; luck or no luck, you guys used what you had perfectly and brought yourselves to a win. And Quags, though I may disagree with some of your actions, I can't fault you either, so good game to you too. As for Ho-oh (I refuse to call our faction Moltres), we only have ourselves to blame for not giving Nook/Quagsires a second chance, which would have led to us finding HD that much sooner and changing the game around (although to be fair we were pretty screwed without his votes so I dunno if that would have helped us any). I probably could have used my powers better (if only I realized Protect lasted longer than a single night n0, I would have been able to protect/heal myself then and start the game with a 5 HP buffer, live and learn I guess), but the limitations to my HP made it hard (though it was hilarious to see the Quags lynch me when I was at 1 HP and had 0 votes XD).

As far as my decision to save RBG was concerned, I discussed it with my team and we realized that even in worst case scenario (him not killing Nano and killing rare & me instead) we still had a win all but clinched, barring a catastrophe... except that was assuming HD was on our team -_- As for UncleSam, Altair really wanted to save Lightwolf, and we figured that 4-5 votes plus a massive amount of night damage was worth more than 4 dmg every 2 nights, 1 vote and an instalynch, so we went with that. Of course Midou was pissed that we not only betrayed UncleSam but went behind his back to do it (not that we actually DID anything, we just realized that they were both going to live because of LW's role plus the lynch mechanics and chose not to say anything), but eventually he was ok with it (and again, that night where moi/steven didn't kill aska then got lynched was the only thing that screwed us over on that, otherwise that would have worked out really well for us).

I'm not going to rant about mechanics, pretty much everything was already mentioned in the OP and it was a great game regardless of them, but I'd like an explanation of the lynch mechanics (I'm certain you told me there was a lynch priority, which was the only reason I died instead of RBG that day (not that it made a difference)). That's all I can think of for now, thanks for the awesome game you two, I hope to see another game from you guys soon. Also, huge props to my team (+moleHD), you guys were awesome to play with and are a huge reason why I found this game to be the most fun I've played on Smogon to date.

I wasn't really a huge part of this game because I was subbed in really late, but I thought it was interesting. I really do have to say nice job to acklow on this thread. Obviously a lot of time and effort went into this. Great work. Don't have anything game related though because I was honestly confused the whole time after I subbed.

Hey Flamestrike glad to know you guys threw away your chances of winning by deciding to kill someone trying to help you rather than your enemies. Nice play there Fires.

The Nepto survived everyone in the game hauling at their assholes for two cycles at my insistence and then had a OHKO move with higher priority than my one protection against it. I have no regrets.

Altair

just who is the coon?
Well this was definitely one of my favorite games on smogon to date, except for the use of the RNG for scavenging and my and capefeather's roles. Imo luck should never play a part in mafia, and as you said rbg got lucky as hell with the scavenges and other stuff (nothing against rbg, he deserves this win).

Anyways my perspective on the game (this is somewhat foggy btw):

Earlygame was pretty much a mad scramble; I tried to find my other teammates, so I talked to some people + UncleSam, who, when I randomly said I needed Water Crystals dead, led me to Midou, which set the whole Wind+Fire thing in motion. He told me of 3 possible Fires: Crux, Flamestrike and an unknown guy, and BLUEBERRY and another unknown guy. It was obvious we had a mole, but for some reason I gave Crux spreadsheet access, then promptly removed him and pretended google fucked up for a while lol. This lead to mislynch on Crux day 1, but eventually we somehow (??) decided that Goldenknight and BLUEBERRY were the moles, and were fully united.

Obviously our first order of business was to kill off a WoL, so we offed Goldenknight day 2, as well as hurting LightWolf. By this time, we also had a solid alliance with UncleSam, the neutral, as well as askaninjask. However, me and Flamestrike realized that LightWolf had more to offer (10 DMG a night!!) and began talks with LightWolf without Midou knowing. We ordered moi (Lightwolf) to use the Shuriken on UncleSam that night, which killed him obviously.

Day 3 introduced a common theme in this mafia: that Quagsire and Moltres were not going to work together and that RBG survives lynches. We also told Midou about our alliance with Lightwolf, which pissed him off considerably lol. Midou died this day, which was a great loss to our team, since he had 3 whole votes, and Lightwolf died, which meant moi now had no protection. Anyways that night we ordered a kill on Game_Freak201, which was a great call because as you can see in the postgame, his role was quite broken.

Day 4, we lynched -TheLucarioEffect-, mainly because we had inspected him and found out how powerful he was and that he was in the same position as GoldenKnight on our team, which in our minds, confirmed him as WoL. Of course, when he died we should have been a bit more suspicious of HD but I digress. Meanwhile, Quagsire decided to attack me, which was slightly amusing since I had the worst role in this entire game, but they did a number on me (9/10 my remaining HP).

Next night I died, but I somehow took someone down with me with my weak-ass arrows, and after that I really didnt follow the game, congrats to the WoL I guess....

Oh and my fucking beautiful spreadsheet is here(well it was beautiful when everyone wasn't dead)

edit:
Should have added another catch to that; moi/steven idling the night he needed to kill aska in order to survive -_-
what the fuck this would have probably changed the game so much -____-

You are allied with the Fellowship of the Nepto. You win if the Fellowship of the Nepto defeat the WoL and any that are not warriors of the elemental crystals.
Enemies. Riiiiiight....
I know you were trying to help us, but we felt they could help us more, given the night attack. The agreement with LW was that if we saved him, they'd kill for us as long as we worked towards getting rid of WoL as well, and I see no reason why they wouldn't have held their end of the bargain given we were the one supplying moi with all of his throwing ammo and that we knew more than the Quags did.

I'm still waiting for editing access on the spreadsheet. That's how much I was shunned...

But most definitely agreed that the poisioning of Capefeather was crucial. Had Earth cooperated in some of the lynches, we would have won after Sledge was lynched after HD.

But Nook I'm surprised at how he had played before I subbed in. That suspicion really hurt my performance, and from it, I would not even consider myself active just because I knew nothing. It was to the point that I never knew my teammates's abilities until I inspected TAS on my rand disability, nor even understand what Ho-Oh was before around D9 (Swampert I'm still wondering why Von sent me a PM about it, but that's the only way ).

The only ally I knew before then as well was TAS, and only because he was there when I subbed in. HD played his part well, until he started asking me to stealth TAS D8 in the log in the thread (about the only piece of evidence he couldn't refute about him being WoL, I knew his powers and his item).

Overall, this was a great game, though I wish I had been trusted me more. and I'm interested in watching where the mechanics end up in the future.

Just a heads up, the Earth crystal warriors had to kill the wind warriors. Don't pay attention to the role pms in the OP. Great game everyone! Thanks for all the compliments about the game, I hope more like it start to come up, i want to play one. :x

Unclesam wins the most annoying player award.

I demand a tie with US for unluckiest player. x.x Didn't really pay too much attention since i was on vacation for the early part of the game, and by the time i subbed in, i found out that it was too late for me to save myself :/

Oh so it was our fault that UncleSam died o.O I need to be more in the know in my next games.

Anyway, this was a really fun game to play, and I learned a LOT about how to improve as a player. Thanks a lot to all of my partners, you guys were great!

who gave RBG the kiss? i guess i'm just a team player ;)

anyways my job was extremely easy, since right at the beginning (like crux's lynch) altair thought i was confirmed fire and we got the spreadsheet together pretty quickly, so i knew who to target. Knowing i was screwed a day or two before i was lynched was both convenient and sad, though :(

meh, I really didn't feel comfortable with this game. At first I contacted BB and we did nothing together, and well I wanted to preserve my HP for a possible resurrect. But I didn't have too much time to play so I had to sub out.

well at least I knew Sledge wasn't in the least Water with is awful attempt at moling and all..

Crux

Banned deucer.
Some of my results were really disturbing lol

In all seriousness though, I really enjoyed this game, despite the attempted lynch Day 1 :(

Thanks for hosting it guys
