[OVERVIEW]

Finneon's main niche is being a Defogger that is not weak to Stealth Rock, with the ability to beat common Stealth Rock users such as Onix and Dwebble with its Water-type moves. It has U-turn to set itself apart from other Water-type entry hazard removers, which allows Finneon to pivot its teammates in and gain momentum. Finneon's good defense stats make it quite bulky, giving it more opportunities to use Defog, and its access to Scald allows it to cripple physical attackers with burns, providing even more utility. Storm Drain gives Finneon more opportunities to switch in, particularly letting it switch into Water-type attacks without taking any damage while obtaining a Special Attack boost. However, because Finneon lacks any sort of reliable recovery, it is quite easy to wear down. It is generally very passive due to its poor Special Attack stat, making it rely on Scald burns to mitigate this. It lacks a lot of coverage moves and usually goes in a pattern in move choice, leaving it predictable. Lastly, it faces competition from Staryu and Kabuto as a hazard remover due to their access to reliable recovery and greater consistency.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Defog clears all entry hazards from the field, letting Finneon's teammates switch in more easily. Scald is Finneon's STAB move that is capable of spreading burns, crippling physical attackers. U-turn allows Finneon to pivot safely into a teammate and gain momentum for the team. Lastly, Hidden Power Fighting OHKOes non-Eviolite Pawniard that could switch in on Defog to gain +2 Attack because of its Defiant ability.

Set Details
========

The EVs placed in both defensive stats along with a Bold nature provide Finneon with more bulk while hitting Eviolite-optimal numbers, with the investment inclined towards physical Defense to better fight common entry hazard setters like Onix and Dwebble. The remaining EVs are placed into HP, Special Attack, and Speed to bump up each by one point. Storm Drain is the preferred ability, giving Finneon more opportunities to switch in and boosting its Special Attack by one stage off opposing Water-type moves. Berry Juice gives Finneon a form of recovery once its HP goes under half, which it otherwise lacks. Eviolite, however, provides Finneon with considerably more bulk at the cost of recovery, allowing it to sponge hits better, such as Mienfoo's High Jump Kick and Focus Sash Abra's Psychic. An alternative EV spread of 124 HP / 152 Def / 232 Spe with a Timid nature maximizes Finneon's Speed stat, allowing it to outspeed Pawniard and Dwebble and Speed tie with Onix, while providing some physical bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Finneon can lead against or switch in on opposing entry hazard setters such as Onix and Dwebble, as it is able to beat them with Scald and remove their entry hazards with Defog. Finneon can be switched in on any Water-type attack thanks to its immunity, though its lack of recovery outside of Berry Juice means it shouldn't risk to switch into most attacks and be worn down from it. It should never switch in on Chinchou, which threatens Finneon with Volt Switch, and should scout Thunderbolt on Staryu before switching in on it. Defog is best used once entry hazard setters and spinners like Onix, Kabuto, and Staryu on the opposing team are gone, as your team can keep entry hazards up without taking any chip damage by the opponent's entry hazards. However, be careful of using Defog when the opponent has a Pawniard, as its Defiant ability boosts its Attack sharply; nailing the switch-in with Hidden Power Fighting can ease the use of Defog. Finneon should use U-turn after it has cleared entry hazards, which allows it to safely bring in a teammate and provide momentum.

Team Options
========

Flying- and Fire-types such as Doduo, Rufflet, and Ponyta appreciate Finneon's ability to remove entry hazards from the field and in turn are able to combat Grass-types that counter Finneon, with Fire-types being able to lure in Water-type moves for Finneon to switch into. Sturdy users such as Onix, Tirtouga, and Magnemite also benefit from Finneon's ability to clear entry hazards, which deal chip damage that breaks Sturdy. Setup sweepers like Shellder, Vullaby, and Pawniard appreciate being brought in safely by Finneon's U-turn. Diglett is a great partner, as it can trap Electric-types that check Finneon, while it can pivot Diglett in safely with U-turn as well as clear entry hazards for Focus Sash variants. Grass-types such as Foongus, Snivy, and Pumpkaboo-XL synergize well with Finneon, as they provide Grass- and Electric-type resistances, while Finneon resists Fire- and Ice-type moves. Other U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, and Vullaby can switch Finneon in safely, as it doesn't like being worn down by hits, and can complete a VoltTurn core.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Tailwind helps boosts the Speed of Finneon's slower teammates for four turns, letting them outspeed the majority of the opposing team. Ice Beam can be used to hit Grass-types harder, but it is pretty weak due to Finneon's poor Special Attack stat. Toxic can be used to put a timer on walls like Spritzee and Pumpkaboo-XL, but it takes a long time to start accumulating significant damage due to LC's low HP numbers. Sweet Kiss provides some utility by confusing the foe to potentially hurt themselves, but the chances of that aren't very high and the utility of the other moves on the set are usually better. Hidden Power Fire can be used to specifically hit Ferroseed, which otherwise walls Finneon, but has limited use outside of that. Offensive sets can be used, but due to Finneon's poor movepool they are generally outclassed by other Water-types like Chinchou, Staryu, and Carvanha.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Foongus and Pumpkaboo resist Scald and 2HKO Finneon with Giga Drain, while Snivy OHKOes with Leaf Storm after Stealth Rock damage. Ferroseed is especially annoying, since it is an entry hazard setter able to wall and beat Finneon with Bullet Seed, though it does not appreciate Scald burns due to them lowering its longevity and its already low offensive presence.

**Electric-types**: Magnemite and Elekid outspeed Finneon and OHKO it with an Electric-type move after some chip damage, while Chinchou resists Scald and can pick off Finneon with Volt Switch after prior damage.

**Setup Sweepers**: Due to Finneon's passive nature, setup sweepers such as Shellder, Scraggy, and Vullaby can use Finneon as setup bait; however, the former two must watch out for Scald burns. Croagunk uses Finneon as setup bait, as it is immune to Scald because of Dry Skin and resists Finneon's common coverage options, while Timburr and Scraggy are able to shrug off burns due to Guts and Shed Skin, respectively.

Overview:
- "It is able to fit in on bulky teams" this isn't relevant to the rest of the point. Just mentioning it has good utility moves is fine
- The last pro's point is vague and doesn't teach the reader much. Remove it or make it more notable.

Moves:
- It's notable to mention HP Fight only 2hkos evio pawn, but ohkos other varients. Also mention Defiant somewhere as it's not immediately obvious why it's important to hit Pawniard.

Set Details:
- Defense EVs are good because it helps it take on the hazard setters like Onix/Dwebble/Kabuto/etc. better. The physically inclined meta isn't a very good reason
- "Finneon does not hit a Stealth Rock weak number." Unnecessary
- You need to go into a lot more detail of Eviolite vs Berry Juice. Talk about the upsides of each and when you would use them

Usage Tips:
- "to pivot a Pokemon like Onix onto the field to set up entry hazards." Make this more broad, just mentioning pivoting to another pokemon is good enough and there's nothing that specifically needs to be said here.
- Change the last point to something about being cautious about using Defog when the opponent has a Pawniard and that using HP Fighting on the switchin can be very helpful.

Team Options:
- Change tirt/dwebble to a more broad point about mons w/ Sturdy because smash tirt and dwebble are pretty rare and it's good to include Onix and Mag.

Other Options:
- Add Toxic to cripple walls like Spritzee/Pumpkaboo or to put some pokemon like Vullaby on a timer

Checks and Counters:
- There's nothing really notable about Cottonee, change it to Ferroseed and mention that its a hazard setter that beats Finneon.
- Replace Tirtouga and Corphish with Shellder and Scraggy for more meta examples
- Specifically mention the abilities Dry Skin, Guts, and Shed Skin instead of the very vague "its abilities"
- Finneon doesn't particularly care about Knock Off more than other Pokemon, remove that part.

Great work! QC 1/3 :toast:

Overview
* Refer to it as 'fair defensive stats' rather than 'fair Defense stats'
* 'It is generally very passive due to its poor Special Attack stat.' - add something about its reliance on Scald burns in this sentence.
* Change Vullaby to Kabuto as your example of a hazard remover, just since Vullaby rarely runs Defog these days.

Moves
* Your sentence about Scald makes it sound like Finneon has more than one STAB move that burns foes. Clean this up a bit, and also remove the part where you talk about halving the attack of foes, since that info isn't extremely necessary.

Set Details
* Reckless Mienfoo isn't all too common, so find a more relevant example of an attack Eviolite allows Finneon to better tank.

Usage Tips
* Specify that Finneon can be switched into Onix and Dwebble as they set entry hazards.
* Say something about being wary of switching into certain Water-types. Chinchou should never be switched into due to the threat of Electric-type attacks, while Staryu should be scouted to ensure that it doesn't carry Thunderbolt before it is switched into.
* Say 'generate momentum' instead of bring

Team Options
Looks great

Other Options
* Add Sweet Kiss here. Say that it's useful for broadening Finneon's utility by confusing foes, but generally isn't worth it due to the low chance of foes actually hitting themselves with confusion and the better utility of the main moves listed on the set.

Checks and Counters
Good

Make sure all of this is implemented and give yourself 3/3 afterward. Great work!
