Welcome one and all to the ASB Arena!

We are here today to watch an exciting match between Flamestrike and Deadfox, two ASB veterans! Who will win, well you know as much as I!

On the left side we have Flamestrike and his team seemingly focused on the Sandstorm weather! Will his strategy work out! Or maybe he'll have a strategy no one other than him could anticipate!

Excadrill - Drillstrike (M)
Nature: Impish (+1 Defense, -1 SpA)
Type: Ground/Steel
Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.
Steel: Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.

Abilities:
Sand Rush: (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, feeling more at home in them than all other Pokemon. This Pokemon's Base Speed is doubled (x2) in a Sandstorm. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Sand Force: (Innate) This Pokemon thrives in Sandstorm conditions, using the power of the swirling sand to augment its Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks. Each of this Pokemon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-typed attacks will have the Base Attack Power increased by two (2). Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Mold Breaker (DW): (Innate) Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Nature: Adamant (+1 Atk, -1 SpA)
Type: Ground/Flying

Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Hyper Cutter: (Innate) This Pokemon always keeps its claws/teeth/pincers extremely sharp, and thus cannot have its attack reduced.
Sand Veil: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to reacting in desert conditions and gets a 20% evasion boost during Sandstorms. Pokemon with this ability are immune to Sandstorm damage.
Poison Heal (DW): (Innate) Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. When a Pokemon with Poison Heal inflicts Poison on themselves with an attack, it uses up one of their Recovery Moves. If Toxic'd, the Toxic counter will still go up each round and Toxic will do the relevant damage for that round should their ability be disabled.

2 Day DQ

Now the order of operations!

Flamestrike send out your first mon and equip an item!

Deadfox do the same and add actions!

Flamestrike is then up for actions!

Then I REFFAGE
And keep reminding myself there could be 24UC at the end of this rainbow!

"Alright, Boulderstrike, start us off and bring your raging sandstorm into play right away! I don't have as many items as I'd like, so for now you'll just have to take a Exp. Share!"

"A sand team is definitely an interesting take on ASB, something I'm keen to run against. The hazards are definitely coming but we might be able to hold them off for now. Drogon get out there! This Razor Fang won't help a lot now but it might come in handy later."

Focus Blast > Focus Blast > Focus Blast
IF
Stealth Rock is ordered THEN Taunt (but only once)
IF Dragon Tail is ordered THEN Double Team (4 clones) the first time only

Need to fix my trainer sprite later x_x

"Alright Boulderstrike, a nice simple plan here! Taunt him, then set up Stealth Rock and watch as he fails to Taunt you back! Then send him away with a Dragon Tail as he continues to fail in rage!"

Summary:
Taunt -> Stealth Rock -> Dragon Tail

I must apologize to both of you, I know I told Flamestrike I'd be able to ref this but IRL has messed that up, I cant ref a 6v6 at the moment so if you two could get a subref that'd be helpful

I'm sorry again but real life comes before ASB :(

And we’re off! The first casualty of this war between Flamestrike and Deadfox appears to be none other than the ref, Jay, who has been struck down by the cruel hammer of real life. We extend our condolences. And I steal the 24 UC at the end of the rainbow.
Pre-match thoughts: Flamestrike is trying out a sandstorm team! This is very rare to see in ASB, and perhaps he will pull off a win here. The only problem with a sandstorm team is that it’s liable to singular typing, which leaves it open to a single pokemon steamrolling the entire thing. However, deadfox appears to have no water typed pokemon other than Krillowatt, which is wrecked by the numerous Earthquakes in Flamestrike’s lineup. Oh yeah, and don’t like flamestrike get hazards up.

Anyhow, this first matchup seems to be fairly boring. While Drogon fires off a Focus Blast that does irresponsible damage, Flamestrike abuses subs, setting up stealth rock and phasing deadfox out as it fails to do any more damage. At the end, Krillowatt is dragged out and hurt by the stealth rock. I predict that Flamestrike wants to get Ferrothorn now as soon as possible so he can start setting up hazards. Without a spinner on deadfox’s team, this stealth rock and whatever spikes ferrothorn sets up is going to hurt!
