Flamestrike, send out your first two mons.
danmantincan, send out your first two mons and give orders.
Flamestrike, give orders.
I think you all know how things go from here.

Brandon entered the tournament arena. The tournament was still a few days away, but he could still use some extra training before it began. Flying behind him was one of his newest members, Nightstrike the Murkrow. He greeted his opponent, danmantincan, no stranger to ASB himself, and got the match going. "OK Nightstrike, get in there!" Nightstrike flew into the battle area eagerly, ready for her first match. "Flamestrike, go help her out!" He threw out a Pokeball, and out came a Magmortar, ready to battle. Brandon looked at his two Pokemon and couldn't help but smile. Flamestrike had only recently been a little Magby, and he was already so strong. Meanwhile Nightstrike had not yet battled, yet she showed great promise. It was going to be a good fight for sure.

Dang, I knew I should've brought Anubis with me. Oh well, this is a far from hopeless situation. Let's kick things of with Ivy the Venusaur and Quetzalcoatl the Pyroak!

Let's start removing one of his Pokemon from the game early on. Ivy is going to start with a Sleep Powder on Flamestrike. If he uses Protect, target Nightstrike instead and use Sleep Powder on him for the next action. Otherwise, hit Flamestrike with a Hidden Power followed by a Sludge Bomb.

Let's have Quetzy start with a powerful Flare Blitz on Nightstrike. If Flamestrike is asleep for the second actions, use Leech Seed on him to get some residual damage. If he isn't, use Fire Spin to trap Nightstrike, hopefully preventing him from doing too much damage. And finish with another Flare Blitz on Nightstrike.

Ivy: Sleep Powder (F)/(N)~Hidden Power/Sleep Powder (F)~Sludge Bomb (F)

Quetzalcoatl: Flare Blitz (N)~Leech Seed (F)/Fire Spin (N)~Flare Blitz (N)

"Hmm, this may be tough, but we'll manage! Flamestrike, Protect to block that Sleep Powder! He'll target Nightstrike instead, but that's fine because Nightstrike has Insomnia and won't be going to sleep anytime soon! Next, hit that Venusaur hard with a Fire Blast, and follow it up with a Flamethrower for good measure! Nightstrike, your role is to support for now! Start by using Taunt on Pyroak to make sure it won't be Leech Seeding anyone anytime soon, then Snarl at Venusaur to weaken its assaults! Finish off with another Taunt, this time on Venusaur so it won't be able to put Flamestrike to sleep next round! Even if you get trapped by Fire Spin, you should be able to use it since it works from a distance!"

Summary:
Flamestrike: Protect -> Fire Blast(Venusaur) -> Flamethrower(Venusaur)
Nightstrike: Taunt(Pyroak) -> Snarl(Venusaur) -> Taunt(Venusaur)

Brandon appears to be no stranger to this arena and has decided to start off with one of his most prized pokemon, Magmortar, and a shiny new Murkrow. Dan is far from new to pokemon battling too and he appears to have brought a team with a strategy behind it. He's starting off with a Pyroak and a Venusaur. This looks like it's gonna be quite a heated battle. In fact, I think I'm gonna need another pair of eyes. Jafar!

I need you to get a good view of this match from another angle and let me know about anything that I can't see. But no interfering, OK?
"Gliscor!" *Jafar the Gliscor flies above and to the other side of the battle*

Well now that's sorted, let's see what the combatants are doing. The Magmortar is curling up into a ball and Protecting himself with fire, but it looks like both of Dan's pokemon are more interested in the Murkrow. The Venusaur - argh, where did I leave the list of nicknames for these pokemon? - is spraying a blue Sleep Powder over the Murkrow. Jafar, can you tell me whether or not it works?
"... Scor!"
No? Why wouldn't it ... oh yeah, I remember now. Murkrow is an insomniac so of course it would be futile to try and put her to sleep. Wait, what's so funny Jafar? Is it something that Murkrow said? Oh, she's Taunting the Pyroak by mocking his teammate. Well I'm not too good at understanding other people's pokemon but I think that Pyroak is looking riled up now. I think he's shrouding himself in flame just like the Magmortar did earlier, but not to protect himself. Instead, he's charging head-first into the bird! That Flare Blitz looked like it hurt, but Jafar tells me it could've been worse.

Ah! I just found the list of these pokemon's nicknames! Let me see ... ok then. Ivy appears to be trying Sleep Powder again, but this time she's aiming at Flamestrike. The Magmortar can't help but inhale the powder and he has fallen asleep right there in the arena! Nightstrike is not happy about that, but what's she doing. Aah! Was that her Snarling at Ivy? The Venusaur looks very perturbed now, but either that powder she sprayed over Flamestrike earlier is really powerful or the Magmortar is used to hearing such noises. He's showing no signs of waking up any time soon. I can't help but feel like I'm forgetting about someone right now. Oh wait, Quetzalcoatl! Jafar, can you tell me what he's up to?
"Gliscor ... scor."
Oh, he's trying to shoot some special seeds at the sleeping Flamestrike? Hmm ... I don't see any seeds flying towards him. Maybe he's still thinking about what Nightstrike said to him earlier.

Now it looks like Ivy is trying to fire her own seeds at Flamestrike. Wait a minute ... those aren't seeds, they're Sludge Bombs! The Magmortar is lucky that none of the toxins got into his system. But it looks like Nightstrike is unimpressed. Jafar, is she Taunting the Venusaur now?
"Gliscor!"
Wow, that Murkrow loves giving other pokemon a lot of beak. Let's see how Flamestrike is doing. It looks like he's just starting to wake up now. Oh, but Quetzalcoatl is now looking even more infuriated. Maybe it's because he was frustrated with his failed attempt at planting seeds earlier. He's engulfing himself in flames and ramming Nightstrike! That's the second Flare Blitz she's taken today!

After that round, I think Dan's pokemon are looking healthier, but now that they're both pissed off, it might be a bit harder for him to control them. And who knows what Flamestrike the Magmortar could do next?

Flamestrike, your orders please.

Brandon berated himself silently for misunderstanding danmantincan's orders and allowing Flamestrike to go to sleep as a result, but at least there would be no more status moves from either of dan's Pokemon for now. "Alright guys, now let's go on the offensive! Flamestrike, hit Venusaur with a Fire Blast, then a Flamethrower, and finish off with another Fire Blast! Nightstrike, start by hitting Venusaur with another Snarl, then Roost to regain some health! Finish off with a powerful Sky Attack on Pyroak! If he tries to disrupt your Sky Attack with a Bullet Seed, go for a Wing Attack instead!"

Summary:
Flamestrike: Fire Blast(Venusaur) -> Flamethrower(Venusaur) -> Fire Blast(Venusaur)
Nightstrike: Snarl(Venusaur) -> Roost -> Sky Attack(Pyroak)
Replace third action with Wing Attack if Pyroak uses Bullet Seed

Well, unfortunately their isn't much we can do, other than attack. So attack we shall.

Let's focus all of our attacks on Nightstrike. I want Ivy to hit her with a Hidden Power and Quetzalcoatl to hit and trap her with Fire Spin, so she cannot use Sky Attack without damaging herself. I want Ivy to let her Roost, then hit here with a Power Whip and Quetzy will smack Nightstrike with a Wood Hammer. On the final action, Ivy will use Hidden Power again, while Quetzalcoatl will hit her with another Flare Blitz.

Ivy: Hidden Power (N)~Power Whip (N)~Hidden Power (N)
Quetzalcoatl: Fire Spin (N)~Wood Hammer (N)~Flare Blitz (N)

Flamestrike has woken up and is not looking very happy. But before he can do anything about it, Ivy executes her own plan. She's drawing from her deepest energy reserves from the looks of things. It's making some rings around her. I wonder what this Hidden Power is. Oh, it looks like Nightstrike's about to find out! Wow, that looked like it hurt! Perhaps Nightstrike is weak to this special power of Ivy's. Oh, I hear her Snarling again to try and put Ivy off of using that power of hers again. Flamestrike is joining the fray now by shooting fire at the Venusaur! Wow, it exploded in a huge Fire Blast! Suddenly I think Ivy is wishing to be snarled at instead. But luckily for her, she has her own knight in fiery armour: Quetzalcoatl. He's shooting two streams of fire at Nightstrike from his cannons but they're not acting like regular flamethrowers. Jafar, can you tell me what's going on?
"Gliscor gli ... gliscor!"
Oh, trapping Nightstrike in a Fire Spin is he? Wait a second, did you tell me that was a critical hit? Wow, you don't see that often. I don't know if the Murkrow can hang in there. I'll need you to keep an eye on her for me Jafar.

Ivy looks determined to give Nightstrike a piece of her mind and has brought out the big guns. She's conjured up two vines to strike the bird with. Wait, are they barbed? Oh my, they look like some very Powerful Whips. They're now writhing about in the fiery helix and barely finding Nightstrike. Oh, I think Ivy's vines got burned there. I guess that attack wasn't as powerful as Dan hoped. I wonder what's going to happen in the swirling vortex of flame. Hmm ... I don't see anything. Is Nightstrike even doing anything?
"Scor!"
Oh, she's Roosting. Well she had taken some heavy damage earlier so I can understand why she'd take a break from attacking. Flamestrike has other plans though and is breathing a stream of hot fire on Ivy. I think it got her right on the flower! That Flamethrower looked strong enough but the way Ivy's reacting makes me think this was a critical hit too. Suddenly though, the flower on her back looks brighter. Or am I imagining things? Oh my, I can't think about that when Quetzalcoatl is Hammering Nightstrike with his Wooden arm. It looks like he's ditched the flaming tornado though because I can see clearly now. Did Quetzalcoatl clip Nightstrike's wing or smash her beak? He definitely hit her in a weak spot.

And out come Ivy's spinning white rings again. I guess being snarled at doesn't completely put you off of some attacks. Once again, Nightstrike is the victim of this Hidden Power. I think she's realised now that she can't last much longer and is preparing for one final charge. Sick and tired of the Venusaur, Flamestrike engulfs her in flames once more with a Fire Blast, and this time it's enough. Ivy just can't take the heat any more. It looks like Nightstrike is almost ready to use her powerful move, but Quetzalcoatl is shrouded in fire and looking to ram her. It's another Flare Blitz and Murkrow's flying now! But this doesn't look like controlled flight. Jafar, see if you can get a look at what's happening!
*Jafar flies up to Nightstrike's level* "Gli! Gliscor!" *Jafar flies back down*
She's been knocked out? But how is she reaching such heights if ... oh, Nightstrike just crash landed near the moat.

It's now two pokemon on each side. Flamestrike and Quetzalcoatl are looking slightly worn out but otherwise perfectly fine. I believe Brandon is sending out a Braviary called Skystrike and Dan is sending out a Darumaka named Buddha. That makes three fire-type pokemon in the arena at once. I guess this is a case of fighting fire with fire.

I want Buddha to start things off by making Skystrike drowsy with Yawn. Then burn him with Will-o-Wisp. He'll finish things off with a Flare Blitz (Sheer Force is activated).

Quetzalcoatl will start by using Fire Spin on Skystrike to keep him pinned to the ground. He will then use Leech Seed on Flamestrike and finish with a Flare Blitz on Skystrike. He will swap his last two actions if Flamestrike uses Protect on the second action.

"Alright guys, let's do this! Skystrike, first use Hone Claws to prepare for the rest of the round! Then use Brave Bird on Pyroak to break out of its Fire Spin! Finally you can hit them both with a Sheer Force Rock Slide! Flamestrike, go after that Pyroak with a powerful onslaught! Fire Blast, then a Flamethrower, and finish off with one more Fire Blast for good measure, all on Pyroak!"

Summary:
Skystrike: Hone Claws -> Brave Bird(Pyroak) -> Sheer Force Rock Slide
Flamestrike: Fire Blast(Pyroak) -> Flamethrower(Pyroak) -> Fire Blast(Pyroak)

So Brandon has brought a Braviary, eh? Skystrike the Braviary. Meanwhile, Dan has brought a Darumaka called Bu ... wait a minute, what's happening? Where'd the Darumaka go? Jafar!
"Gliii." *Jafar faceclaws*
Oh, he's evolving into a Darmanitan. Well I suppose Dan did need a strong pokemon to take Ivy's place. But Buddha the Darmanitan is looking bored. He's Yawning at Skystrike. Maybe it's because Brandon basically replaced one bird with another bird. The new bird appears to be Honing its Claws ... or talons? I don't know, but whatever they are, they're looking sharp now. Flamestrike is just doing what he does best: Blasting Fire at his opponent. This time he's trying to burn Quetzalcoatl to the ground, but the Pyroak is having none of it. He's shooting streams of fire from his arms again and this time he's put Skystrike in a Fire Spin. Let's see if he can actually maintain it this time.

Now Buddha's trying something a little different. I've seen this before actually. When a pokemon shoots a ghostly flame that floats towards its target. That's Will-o-Wisp isn't it? But it looks like the flame just got absorbed by the Pyroak's fiery whirlwind. Jafar, can you see it hitting Skystrike?
"Scor."
It failed to hit, huh? Wait, I can see Skystrike now! He's a Brave Bird for flying through the flames just to tackle Quetzalcoatl, especially since he probably wouldn't have been hurt as badly if he had just stayed in his prison, but I think it paid off. Ah, Flamestrike's choosing to use Flamethrower on the Pyroak. Well considering that Pyroak are infused with fire themselves, I don't see how fire would be especially powerful against it, but I guess Flamestrike doesn't have anything better to do. Now I see Quetzalcoatl is trying to plant seeds again. Now that Nightstrike has been KO'd, he's feeling calm enough to make his special Leech Seeds. He's aiming them at Flamestrike and ... yes, they've landed!

Oh my, did Buddha and Skystrike just do something? They're both looking strangely more powerful. It looks like Buddha and Quetzalcoatl have the same thing in mind as they're both cloaking themselves in fire! But before they can move, a huge Rock Slide appears out of nowhere and crashes into them! That looked like it hurt, and it doesn't help that Flamestrike is launching another Fire Blast at Quetzalcoatl. But now Buddha and the Pyroak are looking at each other. Jafar, what is this about?
"Gliscor!"
A co-op attack? I don't think I've seen one of those before. Both pokemon are engulfed in flames and charging straight towards the Braviary! Unfortunately Quetzalcoatl had to drop his fire spin again, but the combined power of the pokemon's two Flare Blitzes has knocked Skystrike back quite a distance! I can see him flying back to his previous position, but he looks like he's seen better days. Then again, Quetzalcoatl's not looking too healthy either. At least he was able to sap some of Flamestrike's vitality though.

Ok, well there isn't much we can do about this. Buddha (with SF) will use Flare Blitzx3 on Skystrike to hopefully get a KO Counter. Should Quetzy survive, I want him to Flare Blitz as many times as possible on Skystrike.

Buddha begins this round by trying the same technique as before: shrouding himself in fire and charging towards Skystrike for another Flare Blitz. This does some heavy damage but, unlike his partner, Buddha is feeling some pain from doing that. Uh oh, that's not helping. It's another Rock Slide coming down on Dan's pokemon. Buddha's getting up and carrying on, but where's Quetzalcoatl? Can you see him Jafar?
"Gliscor." *Jafar points his claw at a pile of rocks*
Oh dear. I don't think this Pyroak is going to be battling any longer. Now Dan's hopes rest with Buddha. But Flamestrike has other plans. No longer content to set stuff on fire, he's now launching a Thunderbolt at the Darmanitan. Can Buddha handle the punishment from two pokemon?

Well he's giving it a try and is hoping to knock Skystrike out of the sky with yet another Flare Blitz. And he does it! He actually knocks the bird to the ground! Jafar, can you check to see if Skystrike is OK?
"... Gli!"
He's OK! Skystrike is able to continue fighting! Now he's glowing again. Is he going to be a Brave Bird and carry on fighting? Yes he is, even if it kills him!

Skystrike appears to have taken heavy recoil, but looks like he's just about hanging in there. Flamestrike decides to finish the job, but how? I can't tell what he's doing, but it's making the Darmanitan uncomfortable. I thought only Psychic pokemon and some ghost pokemon could do that. I guess Magmortar must have psychic powers of some kind. Buddha is writhing in pain now ... and he's just collapsed. Brandon's pokemon have brought him victory!
