Dragon Dance allows Dragonite to boost its Attack and Speed, letting it sweep teams and outpace relevant threats. The Speed boost grants Dragonite the ability to stall out would-be threats such as Latios and Choice Scarf Landorus-T with the combination of Substitute, Roost, and Multiscale. Substitute allows Dragonite to avoid status conditions. Roost allows Dragonite to heal itself and regain Multiscale. Fly is picked over other attacks, such as Dragon Claw, mostly due to the fact that no Pokemon are immune to it. Fly is also beneficial since it allows Dragonite to gain more recovery from Leftovers and to preserve PP from Substitute and Roost.

Set Details
========

Leftovers is selected for consistent passive recovery. Multiscale is vastly superior to Inner Focus because Dragonite will regain it multiple times throughout the battle thanks to Roost. The specified HP and Defense EVs allow Dragonite to survive the combination of a Fake Out and an Ice Punch from Mega Lopunny, which would otherwise outspeed and KO it after a Dragon Dance. The remaining EVs are placed into Speed, which allows Dragonite to outspeed Tornadus-T after a Dragon Dance when used in tandem with a Jolly nature.

Usage Tips
========

Dragonite is almost entirely a late-game sweeper; it should be played cautiously. Although some matchups may seem very difficult for Dragonite, it has the potential to sweep almost any team, and in most games it should be treated as the primary wincon. Removing specific counters or weakening them is crucial for allowing Dragonite a chance to sweep. While Dragonite will primarily not be attacking until the time is right, you must be cautious of being lured into using Fly; the opponent can potentially switch to something that can KO or status Dragonite as it attempts to Fly.

Team Options
========

Magnezone is almost a necessity with this set. While most Steel-types will lose to this set in a one-on-one matchup, some, such as Skarmory and Mega Scizor, will always beat this Dragonite set and have to be completely removed to allow Dragonite a chance to sweep, which is where Magnezone comes in. Magneton is also acceptable, but generally inferior to Magnezone. Entry hazard removal is also a necessity with Dragonite, as not only does Stealth Rock break its Multiscale, but it also is weak to Stealth Rock and the damage taken from it could be detrimental towards a sweep. Starmie and Latios are optimal partners, as they provide your team with hazard removal and a primary Water-type switch-in, easing Dragonite's time. Zapdos is also a possible teammate, as it provides a team not only with Defog, but also with a reliable answer to Tornadus-T, which can potentially trouble Dragonite as Hurricane will hit mid-Fly. Dragonite will also greatly struggle with stall and defensively oriented teams; therefore, having good breakers will be very crucial towards teambuilding with Dragonite. Togekiss, Gengar, Stored Power Clefable, and maximum Attack Mega Diancie are all solid teammates that help with defensively oriented teams.

Dragon Dance allows Dragonite to boost its attack Attack and speed Speed, (AC) allowing letting (allowing was getting repetitive) it to sweep teams and outpace relevant threats. The speed Speed boost grants Dragonite the ability to out-stall stall out would be would-be threats such as Latios and Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Substitute allows Dragonite to avoid status conditions. Roost allows Dragonite to heal itself and regain Multiscale. (i get what youre saying but personally i think that "Roost allows Dragonite to regain its health and reset Multiscale." would work better) Substitute coupled with Roost allow allows Dragonite to stall out many notable threats by maintaining Multiscale from Roost and coupled with Substitute allow most attacks to be stalled out. Fly is picked over other attacks, such as Dragon Claw, mostly due to immunities no Pokemon being immune to it. (Rhythms thinks you're saying that it's preferred due to the turn of immunity Dragonite gets. If that's the case, change the part after the comma to "mostly due to the immunities that it grants") Fly is also beneficial to allow Dragonite to gain more recovery from Leftovers and to preserve PP from Substitute and Roost. (is Sky Drop a viable alternative?)

The remaining 140 EVs were are placed into speed Speed, which allow Dragonite to outspeed Tornadus-Therian Tornadus-T after a Dragon Dance. Ability: Multiscale

Impish Nature

can you use this spread? I think it's much prettier. Thanks in advance.

Mr. Uncompetitive & Kris

The portion explaining the specified EV spread feels poorly worded. I worded this paragraph at first before I altered the EV spread and never updated, the spread was changed slightly and the nature was changed, so the first sentence explaining the EVs made sense at the time as it was an Impish nature. I reworded it now, if you'd like to look over that part again. For what it's worth there are leftover EVs with this spread that don't really accomplish a point, which were dumped into speed because it doesn't really make sense to place them anywhere else. This is why I worded it as "the remaining is placed into speed" and not specify first what the speed + nature do. If you have an idea of how to word that part better let me know.

besides that did the check

also this spread is far more aesthetically pleasing and if you think otherwise you probably think porygon2 is viable in ou

amcheck was posted pretty much exactly when i finished this, plucked along some of the good changes though. from a glance it's looking nice, but the reader doesn't have to be spoonfed e.g. exactly what multiscale does since we assume them to have basic competitive knowledge. (and i personally don't feel using "allow" two sentences in a row is excessive if the overall sentence structure is different)

Fly is picked over other attacks,(RC) (such as Dragon Claw),(RC) mostly due to the fact that no Pokemon being are immune to it. Fly is also beneficial to allow since it allows Dragonite to gain more recovery from Leftovers and to preserve PP from Substitute and Roost.

Leftovers is selected used for consistent passive recovery. Multiscale is vastly superior to Inner Focus because Dragonite will regain it multiple times throughout the battle thanks to Roost (even so, you didn't explain what Multiscale actually does that makes it better than Inner Focus). The specified HP and Defense EVs allow Dragonite to live both a Fake Out and an Ice Punch from Mega Lopunny, which would otherwise outspeed and KO it after a Dragon Dance. The remaining EVs are placed into Speed, which allow ensures that Dragonite to outspeed outspeeds Tornadus-T after a Dragon Dance when used in tandem with a Jolly nature. (we need to start finding synonyms for "allows" since the article is getting monotonous)

Usage Tips
========

Dragonite is almost entirely a late-game sweeper,(AC);(remove semicolon) it and therefore should be played cautiously. Although some matchups may seem very unfriendly difficult ("unfriendly" wasn't the right word) for Dragonite, it has the potential to sweep almost any team, and in most games it should be treated as the primary win condition wincon.(end sentence), although there are exceptions (this is fluff and this specific Dragonite set doesn't have to tell the reader when a Pokemon should or shouldn't be a primary wincon. Even so, you didn't specify these "exceptions").

Magnezone is almost a necessity with this set. While most Steel-types will lose to this set in a one-on-one matchup, some, such as Skarmory and Mega Scizor, will always beat this Dragonite set and have to be completely removed to allow in order for Dragonite a chance to sweep, which is where Magnezone comes in (what does it do specifically that makes it work well with Dragonite). Magneton is also acceptable, but generally inferior to Magnezone. Hazard removal is also a necessity with Dragonite, as not only does Stealth Rock break its Multiscale, but it is also weak to Stealth Rock and the damage taken from it could be detrimental towards a sweep. Starmie and Latios are optimal partners, as not only do they provide hazard removal, but they also provide a your team with a primary Water-resistant Pokemon, easing Dragonite's time (isn't Dragonite a water-resistant Pokemon as well?). Zapdos is also a possible teammate, as it provides a your team with not only Defog,(RC) but also with and a reliable answer to Tornadus-T, which can potentially trouble Dragonite as Hurricane will hit mid-Fly (third time in a row using "not only" - was getting redundant). Dragonite will also greatly struggle with stall and defensively oriented and stall teams; as such, having good breakers wallbreakers will be very crucial towards teambuilding with Dragonite. Togekiss, Gengar, Stored Power Clefable, and maximum Attack Mega Diancie are all solid teammates that help with defensively oriented teams.

You do overuse "allows", among other things. But finding synonyms can make the article a lot less repetitive. I was also doing this amcheck BEFORE the above mod set a placeholder, so I wouldn't have known. Sorry for the inconvenience.
