[DQ] Frozen Vault (Normal) - Mulan15262 and Ute

A rather narrow tunnel appears before you, completely covered in ice. As you travel through it, you can't shake the feeling that the tunnel is going up, but the slope must be really slight. The tunnel goes on, with several curves, until you reach the outside. A frigid wind blows throughout the white peaks, carrying thousands of snowflakes along. A thick blanket of snow covers the cliffs and bridges of ice connect the mountains with each other. You make your way across one of these cliffs, though slowed by incessant winds, until you reach an extremely narrow ice bridge. You wonder if it can withstand your weight, but after a careful attempt, it seems so. Luckily for you, an impenetrable mist hides the gulch below, else you might have turned back.

You finally reach another cliff, which after a few meters leads you to a cavern. But instead of the narrow tunnels you've encountered previously, you find yourself under a breathtaking vault, massive in scale and height. As you continue, looking around the mirror-like walls of ice, you suddenly notice a block of ice, which seems more... particular than the others. As you get near it, you realize it represents some kind of mythological creature, probably a deity or something. Below this odd sculpture, some strange writings may be seen, but you're clueless as to their meaning; they don't look like any language you recognize.

You decide it would be better to keep going, but without warning a quake afflicts the vault, sending fissures through the ice. You try to flee, but before you can do anything, the ice shatters beneath your feet, causing a precipitous fall. Fortunately, you land on soft snow. Still chilly and shuddering, you rise to see where you ended up. This place is much darker than the vault you were in before, though it appears the ice all around reflects the light coming from outside, making it somewhat easier for you to see. A closer look, however, seems to suggest that some of the ice crystal are glowing internally. "How is that even possible?", you wonder, but since you're not in the best position to study such a crystal, you start to think about how to get out. After some investigation, you find a wall where you can sense a feeble breeze. You realize it could be shattered to get to the other side, but... it looks like you're not alone!

At the moment, it looks like Froslass is the bigger threat to our team with its Ghost-type moves striking 3 of our 4 pokemon for SE damage, and the remaining pokemon for neutral damage. I suggest we focus our attacks on it. Since it resists almost everything Weavile can do, I'll draw Weavile's threat onto Lucario for the time being.

Lucario: [Mega-Evolve]Crunch(Froslass)-Rock Slide
If Froslass and Weavile are both untargetable, then use Swords Dance.
If Froslass is untargetable a1, then use Hi Jump Kick(Weavile).

Aegislash: Iron Head(Froslass)-Gyro Ball(Froslass)
If Froslass and Weavile are both untargetable, then use Swords Dance.
If Froslass is untargetable, then use Sacred Sword(Weavile).

Golurk:
Stone Edge (Froslass) ~ Shadow Punch (Froslass)
If Froslass is untargetable, use Dynamic Punch on Weavile
If Weavile and Froslass are untargetable, use Gravity

Gardevoir:
Shadow Ball (Froslass) ~ Moonblast (Froslass)
If Froslass is untargetable, use Focus Blast on Weavile
If Weavile and Froslass are untargetable, use Calm Mind

Round 1

The enemies take the initiative, delivering powerful attacks upon the team. Luke shrugs off the electric bolt thrown by Froslass and evolves, then retaliates with a ferocious bite. The other team mates follow soon, focusing all their efforts on the Ghost-type. However Weavile, left unchecked, is free to heavily damage the Golurk.

Is the aggro threshold simply a minimum threat needed for the pokemon to exclusively target the highest-threat pokemon, or does it mean something more?

Lucario: Flash Cannon(Froslass)-Rock Slide
If Froslass and Weavile are untargetable, then use Swords Dance and push back.
If Froslass is untargetable when Lucario would use Flash Cannon, then use Hi Jump Kick(Weavile).

Aegislash: Rock Slide-Gyro Ball(Froslass).
If Froslass and Weavile are untargetable, then use Swords Dance and push back.
If Froslass is untargetable when Aegislash would use Gyro Ball, then use Sacred Sword(Weavile).

@Mulan: it means that, for another Pokemon to steal the boss's attention, they must reach the threshold (For example, if the current target has 50 threat, it takes 50*1.3 = 65 threat to steal the boss's attention, but if meanwhile the current target gets to 60 before someone reaches 65, the threshold will rise to 60*1.3 = 78 and so on). Note that the threshold, much like the entire list, is just a "photography" at the end of the round. Like HP and other stats, they change dynamically during the round.

Oh. I just hadn't heard it called threat threshold before. I understand what it is now, and I think I will keep my orders.

Is the threshold 1 if no pokemon have accumulated any threat?

Golurk:
Rock Slide ~ Shadow Punch (Froslass)
If Froslass is untargetable, use Dynamic Punch on Weavile

If an ally drops below 30 HP, target it with Heal Pulse

Round 2

The team keeps attacking Froslass, but this time more attention is given to the other foe as well. This doesn't prevent either enemy from causing major havoc, though.

Mulan, Adaptability is a great asset here and that your +speed nature makes low accuracy attacks much more reliable on Mega-Lucario

Golurk:
Dynamic Punch (Weavile) ~ Shadow Punch (Froslass)

Gardevoir:
Shadow Ball (Froslass) ~ Moonblast (Weavile)
If an ally drops below 30 HP, target it with Heal Pulse

Should have remembered that.

Lucario: Hi Jump Kick(Weavile)-Iron Tail(Froslass)
If Weavile and Froslass are both untargetable, then use Swords Dance.
If the target is untargetable, then replace with Flash Cannon(Froslass) a1 and Hi Jump Kick(Weavile) a2.

Aegislash: Sacred Sword(Weavile)-Rock Slide
If Weavile and Froslass are both untargetable, then use Swords Dance.
If Weavile is untargetable, then use Gyro Ball(Froslass).

Round 3

Suddenly, the team turns completely against Weavile, but after taking a lot of punishment, the weasel vanishes in the darkness, dodging the Gardevoir's lunar blast. The other team mates however are not likewise caught offguard and immediately switch back to Froslass.

Always sub for an untargetable target in a raid. Anyways, we now have more HP combined than the two bosses, so we can just keep the pressure on.

Lucario: Iron Tail(Froslass)-Hi Jump Kick(Weavile)
If Weavile and Froslass are both untargetable, then Chill.
If Weavile is untagetable, replace with Flash Cannon(Froslass).

Aegislash: Gyro Ball(Froslass)-Sacred Sword(Weavile)
If Weavile and Froslass are both untargetable, then Chill.
If the target is untargetable, replace a2 with Gyro Ball(Froslass) and a1 with Brick Break(Weavile).

Round 4

Froslass paralyzes the Lucario as well, with a weak jolt of electricity, but the team quickly overwhelms her. When Weavile slips back from the shadows, it strikes the Lucario itself viciously, but this does nothing but bolster the Fighting-type's resolve. Together, the raid mates drive Weavile under their (figurative, for the most part) heels, but the weasel survives by the skin of its teeth.

Congratulations, Mulan15262 and Ute, on your success!

Each trainer: 2 CC, 1 Valor Counter, 4 KOC (to be spent only on the Pokemon involved in the raid or as CC)
Each Pokemon: 1 EC, 2 MC, 1 AC or 3 MC or (moves/15) CC
Glyph of Ice Shard: Raises the power of Ice Shard by 4 and its energy cost by 3.
Vile Claws: Causes the holder's physical attacks to hit as if the foe's Defense rank were (1) points lower than normal (Never lower than Rank 1 Defense), and raises the power of Dark- and Ghost-type attacks by (2)

You will be able to claim your rewards once your raid is over.

Finally you manage to clear the way and shatter the wall. A tunnel is revealed, which brings you back to the vault you were in before the floor collapsed. As you procede, you notice more of the ruins you spotted before. Most of them are damaged to the point you can't possibly understand what they were originally, but suddendly some drawings on the wall catch your attention. The first image shows the same mythological creature whose statue you saw before, in front of several humanoid figures which seem to pray towards the creature. The second image feature the deity (or sort of), surrounded by seven circles. Each of the circles is shaped with intricated patterns which probably have some meaning you don't manage to understand. The third image, the last one, shows a great building - a temple, or something like that - upon which the deity floats. Seven rays depart far away from him. You wonder what all this is about.

At the end of the halls, you find a hole, with large stairs made of pure ice going down. You descend through them, and suddendly you find yourselves staring in awe. A giant cavern, probably high over 50 meters and even more in width, extends below the vault. At the center of the cavern, a large spire of ice connects the soil with the ceiling above. You walk down the stairs until reaching the floor, and you get near the spire. More writings show up on it, similar to the ones you saw next to the sculpture of the deity. You try to read through them but, all of a sudden, the stale air of the cavern is disturbed by something. Your senses are keen enough to make you turn in time to see a beam of ice aimed at your position! You manage to dodge it barely, and meanwhile you spot a blue, feathered bird flying around the spire. After some seconds the bird tries to attack again, and you throw your Poké Ball in defense!

Round 1

Once again, Luke taps into his trainer's Mega Ring to evolve and deliver a powerful blow at the foe. Articuno shrugs off the silvery blast and takes the Lucario into the air with its talons. The other team mates however expected such a possibility, and so hold back until the enemy is once again within reach - taking their time to build up defenses and set the field.

This however does little to slow down the legendary bird, which squeezes the Lucario with a violent gust. Still, the team manages to pay back and leave quite a mark into the foe.

Those attacks were unexpected. I thought bosses would use the attack with the best effectiveness against the foe, which would be Mud-Slap and Rock Smash in this case.

Lucario: Iron Tail(Articuno)-Stone Edge(Articuno)
If Articuno is untargetable, then Chill.

Aegislash: Rock Slide-Gyro Ball(Articuno)
If Articuno is untargetable, then Chill.

Mulan15262 the bosses' choices are indeed influenced by the effectiveness of attacks, but they don't always use the single best attack. Otherwise you would see bosses spamming the same attack over and over, and this is certainly not what you would see if you were to go through the logs of past raids. Bosses randomly select an attack from a slate that includes: (1) the attack(s) that do(es) the most damage to its current target, AND (2) every attack that does at least 2/3 (3/4 in Hard Mode) of that damage. So for example, if Sky Attack were the best attack against a certain target and it would do, let's suppose, 18 damage, Fly will probably be included as well in the slate, since it would do something like 13 damage, but Peck would not.

Is it clear enough?
